Susan is a mind reader! She saw our vision and made it come to life in our flowers. She was so easy to work with and was very flexible with us when we wanted to make any changes. We were burned by another florist in town so I frantically emailed Susan and she emailed me right away and we set up a meeting for that day. We could not have picked a better florist for our wedding!

I loved my experience working with Susan and Brent. I changed my mind several times and Susan was always willing to update the order. Susan and Brent came to my wedding venue to deliver the flowers and set everything up for my big day and were so friendly and punctual. I gave her colors and an overall concept for my wedding and she produced AMAZING bouquets, centerpieces, boutonnieres, and garland for my sweetheart table. It was all so much more than I could have imagined and I absolutely LOVED her designs. I'm getting my bouquet preserved because I loved it so much and want to keep it forever. I'm blown away by the perfection and professionalism of Shady Grove Gardens. 12/10 highly recommend to anyone looking for flowers for any event!

My husband and I were planning our wedding on our own and working with Susan was very easy. We talked on the phone and she was able to assist and get an idea of what I wanted and how many buckets that were needed. We bought flowers by the buckets and the amount of flowers and varity was beautiful. Would 100% recommend. Buying by the bucket was awesome if you already have a vision and would like to DIY wedding projects.

We definitely recommend working with Susan. We offered a few ideas for local wildflowers and Susan made everything look even more beautiful than I had imagined. My bouquet and the arbor decorations were perfect!!

Susan was great and really captured my vision for our floral and the loose Eucalyptus stems on the table runners turned out perfect.

We used Shady Grove Gardens for our summer wedding at Overlook Barn in Banner Elk this past July. And they did an amazing job! I gave Susan inspiration pictures and they went above and beyond! She saw my vision and created beautiful bouquets for myself and the girls. Shady Grove also provided eucalyptus for our tables. Everything turned out wonderful. So thankful for finding Shady Grove and we highly recommend them for your wedding!

Shady Grove flowers was one of my favorite parts of the wedding! They exceeded my expectations in every way. Susan was accommodating, easy to work with and her flowers were breathtaking!!

Susan was wonderful to work with. She was very responsive and helpful in helping me work through what the best plan for flowers for our wedding would be. I've never been a big flower person so I didn't want to break our budget on florals. We opted for having Susan do my bridal bouquet, bouts, and corsages. I was a little regretful after seeing how beautiful her arrangements were. We got her buckets for DIY bridesmaid bouquets (this was so fun for the girls!) and for the few cases we had for decor. Susan was patient with me when I was worried about how the color burgundy of flowers may clash with the color burgundy napkins we had. Lol... it's so weird the things you start to freak out about as you're planning your big day that - in the end - make no sense at all 😂 what was I thinking? Anyway, everything was beautiful and the only thing I regret is not having enough time to have met Susan myself to pickup our flowers. My uncle and cousins went to pick them up, met Susan and her husband, and their friendly cat! If you want someone who's easy to work with and easier on the wallet than most floral vendors in the area, Shady Grove Gardens is for you!

Susan and Brent did such an amazing job on my wedding flowers. Susan was very invested in every detail and ensuring that she had a clear understanding of my vision. I sent her a picture of a bouquet that had inspired the look I was hoping for and the final product was even better than I could have imagined. They even found pheasant feathers to add to my boho-inspired bridal bouquet! I cannot recommend Shady Grove Gardens enough.

Shady Grove did an amazing job on the flowers for our September wedding! I was not very easy to work with in the sense that I did not have a clear picture of what I wanted, but Susan was awesome about taking my scattered thoughts and creating breathtaking floral arrangements. My bridal bouquet is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Thanks again!

GORGEOUS!!! STUNNING! I wanted them to live forever. I sent photos of styles and colors to Susan who created an amazing bouquet perfect for my dress and size. I wanted wild flowers cascading, a matching crown, and boutonniere. She delivered!!!

Shady grove was fantastic! They grow beautiful flowers and created perfect centerpieces and bouquets for our wedding! Susan was a joy to work with and was very thorough in making sure she understood what we wanted for our wedding! She created a piece to hang on a large cross that was breathtaking! She also did a mixture of small & large centerpieces, bouquets, boutonnieres & filler flowers. We also used fresh buckets of flowers for our rehearsal dinner that we put together ourselves. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone in the high country to use Shady Grove for their special occasion!

We used Shady Grove for some seasonal flower buckets to make some arrangements ourselves for our rustic outdoor wedding. The flowers were beautiful and in great condition, she was so easy to work with and everything was taken care of in a pinch.

Susan met with us one time in person, other than that we only spoke on the phone or through email. Despite the long distance communication, everything we were hoping for was provided. The bouquets and boutonnières were gorgeous and were exactly what I wanted. They also sell buckets of flowers and greenery for decorations, so it was much more budget friendly than having a bunch of arrangements made up for the reception tables. Very excellent service.

Susan and Shady was great! I ordered mixed buckets. I originally wanted white and cream but some inclimate weather made that impossible with the bucket order. Susan worked with me and gave me options so I would be happy with what I received. She and her staff picked for me exactly what I wanted. I couldnt be happier. EXCELLENT value and beautiful flowers.

The individual flowers were gorgeous and buying by the bucket is the way to go. Working with Shady Grove was overall very frustrating. We met to discuss the types of flowers and arrangements we wanted well in advance of the wedding, this meeting was not well-documented by the florist and she forgot key details about our requests. Bookkeeping and other records we had sent her were not well-maintained, causing a lot of last-minute stress on our part. The bridal bouquet (which was the only bouquet crafted by the florist) was not ready at the pick-up time and had to be picked up the morning of the wedding. When we went to pick up the bouquet the morning of, we were treated as if it was an oversight on our part. I recommend speaking often with follow-up in writing if you go with this vendor.

We used Shady Grove Gardens so that we would have fresh seasonal flowers for our spring wedding. My mom & I drove an hour out of the way from our wedding in Asheville, but it was COMPLETELY worth it to have had such beautiful & one of a kind flowers for our wedding. We got 5 buckets of assorted flowers & they created such beautiful arrangements for our wedding. Yes - my girls & I had to make the arrangements the night before, but a DIY bride is the type of bride that I am, plus it was a very sweet time to share with my girlfriends the night before. The flowers do require some immediate love, so I would not recommend this service if you do not have a green thumb, as you need to be patient & diligent with the flowers so that they survive, but luckily for me, my husband loves to garden & the flowers looked beautiful for our day.

I chose to have Shady Grove make my bouquets and boutonnieres and have a bridesmaid help me with table arrangements. Everything turned out beautifully, although when I asked for "red purples," I didn't expect pink. They aren't always very organized, but in the end they will get the job done, and it will look nice.

We did the DIY buckets from Shady Grove and were very pleased with the flowers. However contacting the owners was a pain, their address was not listed on their website, nor were there any directions and their shop was at the very top of a mountain. I would recommend them for their product, but would tell my friends how to get there myself.

The address listed here is wrong, but Shady Grove Gardens and Nursery (www.shady-grove-gardens.com) is incredible. I used them after seeing their amazing work at a friends wedding. Susan made the bouquets, boutinierres, a garland for our arch, and a comb for my hair. To decorate, we saved a lot of money by buying buckets of local flowers and arranging them ourselves. If you want the same arrangements you see at every wedding, you should choose another florist. If you want to capitalize on the beauty of the High Country, go through Shady Grove and see how beautiful, local flowers can accent your wedding. I was blown away by her work and the beauty of the cut flowers.

I absolutely loved the flowers that I got from Shady Grove Nursery! The service was awesome and the flowers were beautiful. I got 100 hydrangeas, a bucketful of wild flowers (that I specified for oranges and reds, since I had a fall wedding), and I had them delivered and it was only $350.00! They really know how to take care of a bride!!

This is the place to go for affordable and beautiful wildflowers and peonies. Shady Grove can make bouquets, boutineers, arrangements, etc... or you can just buy buckets of flowers and make them yourself. We chose have Shady Grave make the bridal bouquet and we bought buckets to make the bridesmaids' bouquets and to decorate the reception. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. The flowers were gorgeous and my bouquet was exactly what I had envisioned. Their prices are awesome compared to regular florists also. The only drawback is the gardens are located a little back in the woods - just when you think you're in the middle of nowhere, you'll see it :)
