I think the Sheraton put their best efforts forward to provide my husband and I with a wonderful wedding reception. The staff is wonderfully friendly and courteous. Our event coordinator, Jessica, was fantastic! I have nothing but great things to say about her. I booked the Waterbury ballroom a year in advance and I’m sure I bombarded Jessica with emails at times but she never seemed annoyed and always went above and beyond to answer my questions, give me vendor referrals, etc. We also worked with Peter Woods, the director of events, in times that Jessica was absent. We went for a tasting about four months before our event and Peter led my husband and I to the chef’s office in the actual kitchen. The chef, sous chef, Peter, my husband and I all toasted with champagne in congratulating our up-coming nuptials. We tried all of my selections from their long menu of New Orleans cuisine. My guests LOVED the food. Every wedding I’ve ever attended I’ve always said “Eh, the food was ok.” But no one said that about my wedding. It was phenomenal and the chef and his staff did a five-star job. Upon entering the reception the coordinator was with me and on top of everything the entire time. She lined up the DJ set-up, the cake delivery, EVERYTHING. I was told, during my reception, when it was time to cut the cake, for example, or time to do the champagne toast. It was so relaxing and fun knowing I didn’t have to worry about a thing. The Sheraton accommodated our guests accordingly. I set up a room block for a number of guests. Everyone enjoyed valet parking. Our hotel room that I stayed in with my bridesmaids the night before the wedding was so beautiful and a very large and spacious room.
I truly know that the Sheraton took great care of us. And while every wedding planning process has several bumps in the road, I feel as though mine were very minimal when dealing with the Sheraton. They have two ballrooms – so I HIGHLY recommend them for your wedding reception.

We had our wedding ceremony and rehearsal at the Sheraton and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about it. Our planner Michelle was great and incredibly helpful. We had our ceremony in the Waterbury room and our reception in the Armstrong ballroom - both of which are beautiful. The staff at the Sheraton was friendly and accommodating all weekend. We definitely recommend this venue for a wedding!

The Sheraton offered complimentary hotel blocks with a release date. They kept us updated on the status of the bookings throughout, and offered a complimentary check-in line for our guests the weekend of, to avoid a long wait in line. The Sheraton is a great central location, with a nice gathering space/bar downstairs. I booked a suite to get ready in, which was lovely, and offered to us at a special rate. I would recommend this hotel to anyone having a wedding with numerous out of town guests!

Our planner Emily at the Sheraton was phenomenal. The service for our guests throughout the weekend by the hotel staff was great. The guest rooms are lovely - particularly the HUGE suites we had with views overlooking the city/river. Our ceremony took place in the Rhythms Ballroom and our reception in the Armstrong Ballroom. Both could accommodate our large wedding nicely. The finishes in the Rhythms Ballroom although new were not particularly beautiful. The Armstrong Ballroom however is awesome with the high ceilings and big windows. Food was good. Set up went smooth. Only a few issues - which given the size of our event was bound to happen. Biggest concern if I was considering the space again would be the temperature in the Armstrong Ballroom which apparently is always either way too cold or way too hot.

We booked a block of rooms for our guests at the Sheraton for our December 2012 wedding. The price was quite reasonable and the staff was, for the most part, easy to work with as far as getting questions answered. The two-bedroom suite my parents booked for us to stay in and get ready for the wedding in was gorgeous - way up on the 46th floor - the view was amazing and the floor-to-ceiling windows were great for light! Having the huge living room area and kitchen was perfect since we had hair and makeup come to get five people ready. We also had enough room to have a catered lunch set up while we were getting ready. The big windows also made a FABULOUS backdrop for bridal photos!!!
My new hubs and I stayed in the "Governor's Suite" on our wedding night - it was one floor up from my parents' suite - basically the same room but with a slightly better view of the river. The "midnight snack" they provide was a little weak but we were too happy to care. Having 4:00 late checkout the next day made a HUGE difference because it meant we could go do the brunch THEN come back and deal with packing up all the wedding stuff.
It was great having that huge central bar/buffet area on the ground floor for all of the guests to gather in for a drink.
My only complaint was that the hotel simply COULD NOT get the Welcome Bags delivered to the guests in a timely fashion. Some guests never even got one, even though I had provided a very detailed list of every wedding guest and who was staying where.....such a simple and IMPORTANT task for the hotel to take care of. My own parents didn't even get one!!! And the schedule for the weekend's events was in there. I was NOT happy about it.
But other than that.....it was a great central location (I gave guests a "walking tour" of the French Quarter that almost everyone did) and easy access and parking; we had chartered buses to take guests to the wedding and reception, too, and that was easily accommodated on Canal Street. Overall, a good place.

My husband, bridesmaids, friends and parents stayed here the night before the wedding. The staff was excellent! The hotel was beautiful! It was within walking distance of the French Quarter and anything else you would want to see or do in New Orleans.

The VIP services lady was very helpful, but the fact that the elevators had issues all day on my wedding day was not ok!! It took my photographer 30 mins just to get an elevator up to my room- that is ridiculous. Also, some peoples rooms were not ready at 3 when they were supposed to be. Very big hotel and seemed to be drowning with large groups. Good price for the rooms though.
