We did not have our wedding reception at this venue but I had to take the time to share how extremely professional, considerate, and kind the staff! We worked very closely with a representative named Jessica and she was the absolute best. It’s also a great venue. Two gorgeous ballrooms, one with a wonderful view of DC. The only reason why we didn’t go with this venue us because we want to be in an area with a little more to the neighborhood in terms of restaurants and activities, but the hotel itself? Stellar!
We decided to hold our wedding at the Sheraton in Pentagon City after considering numerous locations around Northern Virginia. From the moment we signed on we knew we had made the right decision. Karen and the whole staff at the Sheraton were friendly, helpful, and generous with their time and resources. We held both the ceremony and reception for our wedding in the Galaxy Ballroom and the Sheraton staff were able to flip the room in an hour. The space was beautiful and the view was amazing. We were particularly happy with the food prepared for our dinner, which was affordable and high quality. Like any large event, we ran into unexpected issues in the lead up to and day or our wedding, but nothing flustered Karen and her team. We strongly recommend that anyone getting married in the DC area consider holding their wedding at this wonderful hotel.
I cannot say enough positive things about our experience getting married at the Sheraton. Sandra Holley our wedding coordinator was the BEST! She listened to what we wanted and needed and helped us have an incredible wedding. They worked with us to make sure we were happy with every aspect of our wedding experience. I could probably write 5 paragraphs about how happy we are however I will highlight some of the best points about getting married at the Sheraton at Pentagon City.
-CONVENIENCE. So many people came up to me and said how stressful wedding planning is, with Sandra’s help everything was taken care of at one location. Within the first meeting we had the food worked out, the timing, the hotel block, and decor. The Sheraton allowed us to use a combination of their decorations and our own, perfect for brides who want a say in everything or who want everything taken care of. It was also convenient for our families, after the reception, we didn’t have to worry about getting our families home. This was especially important for my father in law who is disabled. They were able to get him all the support he needed to have an amazing day.
-RESPONSIVENESS and EFFICIENCY: my parents are industrial engineers and my entire family is engineers of some kind. My family can’t go through a bagel line without complaining about the inefficiencies, NO ONE had anything but raving compliments about the logistics of our wedding. I never felt stressed on my wedding day, everything was taken care of, ran smoothly and was amazing without being rushed. They let us set up on Friday before our event and even at 12pm all of the tables were out and everything was ready to go.
-BEAUTY ELEGANCE AND FUN: I got so many compliments about the beautiful views of Washington DC, the amazing food and the quality and quantity of beverages. Everyone had an AMAZING time. So many people came up and said it was the best wedding they’ve ever been too! I know I’m biased but I agree!
-KINDNESS: I don’t know how the Sheraton manages to hire such consistently kind people but we did not meet one server, chef, caterer, hotel worker, or planner that we didn’t love. They treated us so well and consistently went above and beyond our expectations.
In short, having our wedding at the Sheraton could not have gone better and I will forever be grateful to all of the people who came together to help us have what I would call the perfect wedding reception!
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!
Our experience with the Sheraton was incredible. The venue itself is a beautiful site for a reception, with its spectacular 16th floor views of the city and its spacious ballroom. The lighting that the Sheraton has -- including uplights in a variety of colors -- adds a special touch. The food is magnificent; I don't think I've ever had tastier wedding food! But what really set the Sheraton apart from other venues is the customer service. Throughout the planning process and the day itself, Betsy Jones was unfailingly professional, kind, and responsive -- she always replied to my emails or phone calls within a day, usually on the same day, and she always had answers to my questions. I have a difficult work schedule, but Betsy was able to help us plan tastings and other wedding-related events around my hours. Working with someone so responsible took a major load of stress off of me during the wedding planning process. You would do well to have your reception at the Sheraton!
The venue and staff was perfect. I could not have asked for a better venue to have my wedding! I felt completely at ease the entire wedding planning process. AMAZING!
The venue as an amazing view. The staff was excellent.
Positives: All of my guests loved the view from the ballroom at the top of the Sheraton. The location was great and it was a perfect setting for our wedding reception. The food was also really excellent.
Negatives: The coordinator Betsy is kind of pushy and doesn't really listen to everything that you want. She ended up ordering the wrong linens and forgot a few things that we paid extra for (like bar upgrades) so I was disappointed with that part of the service.
Overall it came out to about $170/person which is pricey but it was worth it for the view and the excellent food!
Betsy Jones, the wedding coordinator at the Sheraton did a great job in responding to all of my questions and working to accommodate my changing number of guests. The only thing I would say is that she made it obvious that she didn't care too much about DIY stuff but she didn't try to convince me out of anything. The galaxy room has a beautiful view of Arlington & DC (right in front of the air force memorial). I did think that the price ended up being very expensive; however we upgraded our open bar. I was disappointed to find out later that there was a middle-of-the road option to upgrade the bar for certain items and significantly lowering the price per person. I was sad that she didn't mention it to me. The quality of the linens and silverware provided were very nice and they also have many additional linens & additional items to choose from. You don't really need a wedding planner if you do everything through Betsy.
We were lucky to have booked the galaxy ballroom that overlooks dc for our wedding. It was such a beautiful site, and big enough to fit our 134 guests. The food was excellent, and they actually offer a vegetarian option without additional charge (super important to me, being one). Betsy Jones was easy to work with, and things went smoothly. Aside from that, being able to have the reception, then go downstairs to the bridal suite was perfect, as well as having most all of our guests at the hotel as well, since there were so many from out of town. Overall, I was pretty impressed with the service - the head server actually reminded us to go and eat, which was nice, because I probably never would have done that on my own, and the food is too good to not taste. Also got a great deal, so we don't have to worry about my parents moving in with us in the next five years afer going broke! Definitely recommend it!
