Soho was an absolutely incredible venue and the team was so wonderful to work with! They were very professional and the atmosphere they created made our day so so special. We worked with Alysse and Cecilia for our wedding and they were absolutely wonderful. We worked with Alysse prior to and she made sure we had every detail thought of and executed prior to our day, and Cecilia ensured everything day of was perfect!! The other aspect is the food and drinks were incredibly delicious. All of our guests were so complimentary and it was overall the best experience. I highly highly recommend Soho South for any of your event needs! Wonderful space and wonderful team!!
Soho South was the perfect place for our ceremony and reception. We secured our date over a year from our wedding date and the staff (Alysse!) was so great to work with from start to finish. The tasting was wonderful. All of the detailed questions I had were answered so I didn't have to worry about guessing a certain measurement or process. Thank you to the team for 1. a great setting 2. amazing food, and 3. a great time!
After choosing Savannah for our wedding location, we found many charming potential wedding venues. After visiting a couple, it was an easy decision for us to go with Soho South! We loved the online reviews we read and word-of-mouth from our vendors on behalf of how great Soho is. Touring it in person sealed the deal!
Our main contact - Alysse - was excellent to work with from the beginning. If we had questions, we got full answers and recommendations in a timely manner. Soho’s team of chefs made the delicious food truly unforgettable. The buffet package was incredible, from the apps, to main entrees, to desserts, and to the great drink package. From great lighting to a seamless ceremony-to-reception flip to the impeccable service throughout the night, we couldn’t have been happier.
Overall, we would absolutely use this event center in the future of other celebrations. Thanks Soho for making our special day great!!
My husband and I got married at Soho South in August. It was everything we hoped it would be and more! Alysse was a pleasure to work with throughout the planning process, and the staff the night of the wedding were very courteous. We still get compliments on the food - I loved how we were able to customize our menu (highly recommend the sliders). The downtown location and the decor gave us that Savannah feel with a modern touch. We would choose Soho South over and over again.
What an experience! My husband and I had our reception here after our wedding at St. John’s Episcopal church and the service was beyond fabulous. From the food to the wedding planner, Alysse, to the splendor of the venue, 5 stars does not cover it! Our night was perfect and the staff cared about the details to ensure that was the case.
We are so happy that we booked our renewal ceremony here! We were doing a very simple, casual vow renewal with family+friends that was more of a reunion, without a rehearsal. We were moving around the East Coast for the year leading up to our celebration so I was remotely researching Savannah venues. A lot of places do the venue and catering separate, but Soho does both and can accommodate allergies! This was the best venue for our fairly small budget.
We visited once, a year out and loved it! The location is great because it's outside of busy downtown but there's lots of parking and bars nearby. It looks just like the photos. Our guests loved it too! Even without a professional photographer, any photos taken will come out great!
All of the staff (planners, chefs, waiters, bartenders) were very professional and friendly!
One thing to note is that communication until closer to the date is pretty inconsistent. The best way to get your questions answered is to schedule a phone meeting. Not until we scheduled the tasting a few months out did we get consistent email communication from Soho. Sometimes our wedding planner reached out for us to prompt a response, but we were patient and persistent when needed. A lot of things get confirmed at the tasting meeting. In the final time leading up to the event, most of the communication was just between the venue coordinators and our wedding planner.
This was our experience with the food day of == We did the Southern Dinner buffet with a few added things and it is AMAZING!!! Truly the food is SO DELICIOUS, all of our guests loved it too! The meal was made gluten and dairy free which tasted fantastic, no one knew the difference. Unfortunately, the cobbler dessert wasn't made gf or df - I'm not sure how the wedding planner caught it. I was disappointed because I wanted to eat that but the Soho staff found alternatives very quickly and refunded us before the night was over. Besides the people that had allergies, none of the guests even noticed that happened and they LOVED the other options!
Keeping these things in mind, we still had a good experience! I recommend Soho South!
It truly pains me to write this review because our the set up and decor was soooo beautiful but I must warn you about the operations of this facility / event coordinators. First, it took nearly several times of reaching out to even try and and get additional information from their event coordinator. We emailed and called and received little to no response until I basically harassed their event coordinator. Secondly, we emailed follow ups several times to the venue around 45 days out and rarely got responses. I even so much as asked if they provided high chairs and never got an email back. The communication was absolutely horrid. However the thing that was the worst was LESS THAN 24 HOURS UNTIL OUR WEDDING we get an email stating that we had a balance of $5000.00. Mind you per their contract the $ is due two weeks in advanced and we paid the balance well over a month prior to our wedding. We attempted to reach out via call / email for the reasoning but the event coordinator again took her time to response. It was not until I sent a rather alarming text that we got a response..... needless to say, the event coordinator must have mistakingly miscalculated or did not charge the appropriate fees and tried to collect LESS THAN 24 hours to the event. We were on the phone trying to negotiate with them for HOURS while at our rehearsal dinner. Leading to us having a horrible rehearsal night and stressing all the night before our big day. It was such an unethical thing for them to do especially since their contract states all final payments are due two weeks prior to the event. During our event, we had steaks which were cooked medium rare. When we asked why they were still bloody they replied "we were told medium rare". I am pregnant and do not eat medium rare meats and neither does my husband so that was extremely disappointing. And the event coordinator did not once show face after the night before incident nor has any forms of management contacted us about the mishap. Overall I do not recommend this event space.
Very disappointed and made the day very stressful.
Soho South is absolutely gorgeous. The event space can be customized in so many ways to fit your style and I love that. You can do so much in regards to layouts and decor and I love that. The bar area remains such a beautiful focal point. We also incorporated the outside area to create a little patio for guests during cocktail hour. You also cannot beat the location.
The reason I docked a star is the communication. It was really tough. When I first booked the venue, I completely understood that my wedding was several months away and that perhaps the focus would be on other events. However, even within the two months leading up to my wedding, responses were really slow and I felt like I was missing info or waiting for info. Everything was executed as discussed, however be prepared to reach out and follow-up. I think this was especially tough being an out of town bride.
Definitely ask about what's not on the booking package because there were a lot more options than what is presented (and what is presented is amazing - but there's more!)
The food and drink experience was amazing from the beginning. Before our tasting, we had a phone call with Chef Ryan and he gave us so much creative freedom to create a menu that was truly us. I highly recommend asking about this because this is what made our day so special. I also learned that they can do family style plating, which we were tempted to do! We pulled our favorite meals and flavors and he combined and mixed for the most beautiful meal. We had a large guest count and his team did so amazing. Our guests are still talking about the appetizers and the soup. The bar staff was so friendly to our guests, and again, creating our signature cocktails was a great experience. We were able to taste those at our tastings as well.
Overall, I truly loved having our wedding at Soho South. The space is glamorous and the food top notch. And I'm extremely grateful (as are my guests) that Franklin's across the street serves the soup. My husband and I can enjoy our wedding soup whenever we come into town.
I used Soho for my December 2022 wedding and it was amazing! The venue itself is so easy to style to any ones preference. It was everything I wanted for my Christmas themed wedding! The food was excellent, and we did not get to do a tasting so we had no idea what to expect! Everyone loved the food, the bar, the atmosphere! Absolutely recommend this venue!
Our New Years Eve wedding at Soho was perfect! Their staff was so great to work with and it was the perfect space for our wedding. We held both the ceremony and reception here and we couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out!
The Friday night welcome dinner was perfect!! The food was delicious and your wait staff professional and so friendly! The ambience set the tone for the entire weekend! And YOU are so easy to work with!! Can’t thank you enough!!
Planning a destination wedding was difficult enough. Throw a pandemic into the mix, and you can imagine I was ready to scream into the void. My husband and I were supposed to get have our recption at Soho South in May 2020, but because of the pandemic, we had to postpone a year. Leslie from Soho South, and later, Alysse, were both SO incredibly kind and helpful as we navigated all the confusing parts of planning a wedding from afar during a pandemic. The site is gorgeous, the people are kind, and it's just a really great place to throw a fun party. Cannot recommend enough!
We held our daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner at Soho South Cafe. The venue was beautiful, the food delicious and the service excellent. Alysse was a delight to work with on planning this memorable event. We highly recommend Soho South Cafe for your upcoming event.
We held my stepson's rehearsal dinner at Soho South and it was absolutely perfect. We had so many comments on the quality of the food: "the shrimp and grits were the best I've ever had!" and "the beef tenderloin was excellent…so tender, so flavorful!". It's a great atmosphere for a celebration and the Soho South team made it so easy for us, both throughout the planning stages (navigating a wedding through COVID-19!) and through their excellent service the night of the dinner. They were a pleasure to work with and made the rehearsal dinner a very special evening.
Overall this was a great venue, we had both our ceremony and reception there. The ceremony was dreamy and they were quick to flip the space and prepare. The issue I had was with the bar staff at our wedding, I personally had to keep sending back drinks because they couldn’t get them right. They also didn’t hold there professional stance with my father in law and a few of our guests. But that was very limited to the bad staff. The dinner staff was great and I talked with Leslie for planning and she was great.
The Soho is a beautiful location for a Savannah reception. We picked it because it was a unique option, not your typical ballroom or event space. We also picked it because of Leslie, the main wedding coordinator. We had such an amazing experience to her from start to finish. Despite being incredibly busy, she was extremely responsive to every email we sent her, and answered every question and concern that we had quickly and thoroughly. She is very warm, and has a great eye for details. Luke was equally helpful on the day of the wedding, and everything went very smoothly. We got a lot of compliments on the space and the food. We highly recommend this venue!
We had A beautiful wedding. Paid for open bar (beer & wine) We were able to choose 4 beer options on top of their craft beer. We chose 4 beer selections we knew our guests would drink. I knew only a couple would drink wine, but had to pick wine options per the package. We were very excited for the open beer/Wine bar reception. During our cocktail hour, they ran out of 2 of our beer choices. So less than 1 hour. Our guests had to end up going across the street to get alcohol from another bar, which they stood outside the venue to drink because you can't bring outside alcohol in (which I understand). We had less people than expected in attendance. So I paid for more drinkers than actually showed. My husband was in contact with Leslie and then she stores returning his emails. I contacted her this weekend and received an email today saying they will not be compensating me whatsoever. Again, beautiful venue, just don't own on having more than one drink if you want it to last the 4 hours you pay for.
Soho South Cafe was the perfect place for our wedding ceremony and reception! The staff and food were fabulous. The atmosphere is so unique. Leslie made our wedding dreams come to life!
Unique venue with an incredibly professional staff. Leslie and Luke were incredibly responsive. We had such a great experience. The bartenders were AMAZING. The food was DELICIOUS. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.
When we got engaged I knew that SoHo South was THE place I wanted to get married. We loved the mix of industrial with vintage! Leslie was amazing to work with, she answered all our questions and helped give advise on what would work with the space, our budget and number of guests. The staff were amazing the day of and every one enjoyed the food! So many of our guests said it was the best wedding they had been too :)
The SOHO was wonderful from start to finish. Leslie was patient and so incredibly easy to work with! The food was amazing - all of our guests said so. The bartenders hustled hard and all our guests raved about the quick service and professionalism. I loved the final set-up - it was everything I envisioned and more. THANK YOU SOHO!
SOHO South Cafe was the PERFECT wedding venue. We could not have asked for a better experience. The atmosphere was incredible, the food was just right, and the guests had so much fun. The staff at SOHO South Cafe were amazing and worked to make everything run so smoothly. Leslie was so pleasant to work with throughout the entire wedding planning process. If you are looking for a budget friendly venue in a central Savannah location, I would absolutely recommend SOHO South Cafe!
