Founded in 1983, Owner Chris is a graduate of the Broadcasting Institute of Maryland. A former radio personality, Chris started working as a wedding DJ full-time when he relocated back to his native home of York. He has since performed at over 6,000 weddings. His knowledge and experience in the industry has led him to appear on two wedding TV shows, Dream Weddings and Weddings in Style. His team is now comprised of 5 DJs all of whom have been trained personally by Chris. This dedication to excellence and high-quality, personalized service is reflected in their acclaimed work, awards and professional demeanor.
This DJ company offers a personalized approach to planning weddings and events. Couples can benefit from a complimentary consultation (phone or Skype call) with their DJ before the event to discuss their vision and likes and dislikes. Couples will have access to an online wedding planning portal where they can create a "Must Play" list of their most important songs. Additional categories include "Play if Possible", " Play Only If Requested" and there is also a "Do Not Play" list for any songs or artists that should be avoided. They offer all musical genres to appeal to guests of all ages and backgrounds, ranging from Classical to Pop and everything in between.
The Soundwaves team understands that a wedding day is about the couple, and that the music played should be a reflection of them. The company also offers a specific link for guest requests, allowing them to make requests prior to the wedding. The engaged couple will have the option to review and filter the list and delete any unwanted songs. This allows your guests to be an interactive part of your wedding. The DJ will provide wireless microphones for the ceremony and also for the toast. As well as catering to wedding receptions, Soundwaves Entertainment can also provide music for the ceremony. This includes ceremony prelude music as guests start to arrive, as well as wireless and lapel microphones for the officiant.
Soundwaves Entertainment offers two types of wedding packages. A budget friendly basic wedding package for your ceremony and reception or bundled DJ packages which combine DJ services for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception with additional popular services such as a photo booth, monogram, up lighting. Owner and Executive DJ Chris Pyle is a Graduate of Spring Grove High School and holds a degree in Broadcasting. While in high school Chris worked as a DJ at a local roller skating rink (Roller Way) and an under 21 dance club that he helped to establish. Chris has also worked at several local area radio stations as an On-Air Personality and as Music Director. As Music Director he worked closely with major Record Company Representatives that promote their artists and new music.
Chris began his career in Radio at age 18 working at WGTY. As well as in Gettysburg, WHVR AM and WYCR FM (98YCR) in Hanover, working part-time while attending the Broadcasting Institute of Maryland in Baltimore. Upon graduation, he was granted an FCC license. DJ Chris Pyle also worked Full Time at Top 40 radio stations in Chambersburg, Pa. and Virginia and North Carolina. Then Chris returned home to York, Pa. in 1994 to start a family and start DJ’ing Full-Time and re-establish Soundwaves Entertainment. Chris has done over 5,000 weddings in his career.

If you’re in central PA, book Soundwaves Entertainment! They are extremely reasonably priced compared to some other vendors, have a super easy platform to plan your wedding that connects to Spotify, and let you make last minute changes if need be. We got married at the Hershey Country Club in August 2024 and DJ Tony was incredible to work with! Our guests loved the music during our cocktail hour in the building next to our reception, and our dance floor was packed from the minute it opened after dinner. DJ Tony was high energy the whole night, made the planning process super easy and made sure to button up every detail both ahead of time and throughout the course of the reception! Tony executed every detail with our special dances, introductions, and dinner music selections! Our guests told us we could have danced for hours after the wedding was over because the music was so good! We are so grateful to get to know both Tony and his wife, who made us a beautiful handmade cutting board with our names on it on our big day. Thank you for helping to make August 3rd the best day of our lives!

DJ Craig was amazing. He did a great job and made sure everything he did was perfect. We enjoyed having such close communication throughout the night, it made everything seamless. On top of that our guests loved the night and several complimented the music as well as the smoothness of the officiating mics (several of our guests didn’t have the same experiences during their weddings). Thank you Craig and Chris (Soundwaves) for taking care of such a crucial element of our night, we couldn’t have been happier with the outcome.

Soundwaves Entertainment was amazing to work with and definitely made our wedding special. Chris was very attentive to our needs and was extremely communicative throughout the entire planning process. The online planner tool used by this company made song requests and timeline planning so easy. We had Jim as our DJ and he was great to work with. He was very organized and made me feel confident that the day would go smoothly. He seamlessly managed the logistics of the evening and played all of our requested songs. I at first was on the fence about hiring a DJ but I’m so happy I did. I 100% would recommend Soundwaves Entertainment!

Sound waves did such a good job with our wedding. They kept the night moving , were very communicative and listened to all of our song requests for plays and do not play! The communication was absolutely amazing before and during the reception. They were on time and had to set up in multiple locations at the venue and everything went perfectly. Would highly recommend!

Soundwaves Entertainment is a fantastic and delightful company. They work on nothing but excellence. My husband and I had great communication with the company and our personal DJ. They worked hard to make sure our wedding day was on schedule and fun. The DJ did a fantastic job of making our wedding interactive and listened to all of our requests. We had personal meetings to discuss wedding day details which was very informative. Such a great company and would highly recommend to anyone who is planing at wedding, party, etc.

Soundswaves were amazing!!! I would recommend them every time. We had very specific music requests and they were more than happy to work with us on everything. They helped us understand how the music would mesh and fill in the gaps between ceremony events. They had an extensive library and every song we requested was played.
If you are looking for a DJ that will work calmly, seamlessly and go over and above than look no further.

Our wedding day was fantastic and our DJ Patrick would certainly get 5 stars! We are so appreciative of the time he took to meet with us and ensure everything went smoothly. We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ experience for our wedding! From the first interaction with Soundwave to the last song on the dance floor, everything was perfect. Their online portal allowed us to easily create "must play" and "do not play" lists, which gave us peace of mind that the music would reflect our preferences.
We had the pleasure of working with Tony, and he was incredible. Kind, thoughtful, and professional, he truly went above and beyond to make our day special. Tony respected our playlists and nailed every request, but what stood out the most was his ability to read the room and keep the energy alive all night long. He knew exactly when to slow things down and when to turn up the party!
One of the most unforgettable moments was during the last song. Tony asked everyone to gather on the dance floor, encircling us for our final dance. I didn’t even realize what was happening until I looked up and saw we were completely surrounded by our loved ones. It was a beautiful, love-filled moment that I will cherish forever.
Working with Tony and Soundwave Entertainment was a dream. The entire process was seamless, and the music played such a huge role in creating unforgettable memories for us and our guests. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone planning a wedding or special event!

We used Soundwaves for our wedding in mid-November and had an amazing experience from the planning to the actual event. DJ Craig made sure to discuss every transition with us while still allowing us to enjoy our stress-free evening. When it was time for dinner and other scheduled events throughout the early part of the evening, Craig politely pulled my husband and me back to our seats so that we could enjoy our meal and be present for what was going on. I truly feel like we owe it to him for keeping the whole event on schedule!! When it came time to the dance party, he provided a super fun atmosphere and had everyone (even the grandparents, aunts, and uncles) on the dance floor. Sound waves was so much more than just a DJ for us and we are so grateful to them for making our wedding as amazing as it was!

Solid 5 . Jim was a incredibly good of what he do to our wedding. With the planning stage, he was great with communicating to us.
Jim was also great with working with us around our schedule.
We also want to thank him for helping us to get the dance floor keep it going.

We used Soundwaves Entertainment for our wedding in October 2024, and we couldn’t be happier with our decision. DJ Tony was our DJ for the day, and everything was perfect. He provided music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. He was a pleasure to work with, and we had several phone calls leading up to the wedding to ensure everything went smoothly.
The online portal was very easy to use and made it simple for us to plan the songs we wanted (and didn’t want) for our big day. DJ Tony kept the dance floor packed all night, playing a great mix of songs that appealed to guests of all ages. We also rented the photo booth, which was a huge hit with our guests. At the end of the night, we received a link to all the pictures taken in the booth. We can’t recommend them enough!

Chris and Craig at Soundwaves Entertainment were great to work with. Prior to our wedding day, we had our planning session with Chris and he communicated everything perfectly with Craig, who was our DJ. All of our must play songs were played and the dance floor was always packed. Craig from Soundwaves Entertainment was AMAZING at our wedding! He kept the dance floor popping and the party alive all night! They were so responsive leading up to the wedding day and very organized with the online planning platform. The final call before the wedding day was helpful to go over all of the details and put all the stress and worries at ease! Chris from Soundwaves absolutely crushed it! The mix of music was absolutely perfect. The dance floor had guests dancing the entire reception. All of our guests made a point to tell us how great the music was and energy was awesome. We opted for a higher package that included uplighting around the entire room and it was absolute beautiful and a perfect party vibe! Chris was amazing to work with and was incredibly professional, and was the perfect person to keep the party going. Chris checked with us every time before moving on to a different portion of the reception - grand entrance, dismissing tables, cake cutting, dances, etc. The day is already so rushed and it was just awesome he made sure things were smooth, but also giving us time to enjoy everything. We can't recommend sound waves enough!

We used Soundwaves for our Wedding DJ on 9/21/24. We had DJ Patrick and he was awesome! Communication was great and he was super responsive and accommodating when me made some last minute changes. The online portal was super simple to use and made that process so much more stress-free. Patrick was a ton of fun and knew exactly what songs to play to keep people on the dance floor. Our guests, and even the staff working the wedding, kept saying how much fun it was and how packed the dance floor was. Patrick had a great energy and was super easy to work with! Sound Waves is the best DJ service around. Customer service is second to none and the staff are all amazing people. Chris (The owner) met with us before our wedding and went over every single detail imaginable to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted for our cocktail hour, ceremony, and reception. Our DJ Craig was exceptional. We had some last minute changes throughout the night and he was incredibly cool about it and was able to roll with everything. We hired Soundwaves Entertainment for our wedding and couldn't be more satisfied with our choice!
Their online planning platform was very easy to use and helped us to select the perfect soundtrack for our wedding day. Chris and his wife did an excellent job from the ceremony all the way to the end of the reception. All of the songs we wanted to hear got played, and there were some additional ones that got everyone up and dancing!

My husband and I got married in June of this year at the Booking House. From the beginning of choosing Soundwaves Entertainment, they were very responsive to any emails with any questions we had. Our DJ was Craig and he was excellent!! He played all of our must play songs and other songs we had down to play if able to. Most of our wedding guests were out on the dance floor all night! One of our friends that is getting married even asked for his card and was hoping to have him DJ at their wedding. If we ever need a DJ in the future we will definitely use Soundwaves Entertainment again.

Soundwaves was a good choice for our wedding. Sound quality during the outdoor ceremony was great. The owner, Chris planned everything out with us and communicated every detail with our DJ, Craig. All of our “must-play” and “play if possible” song choices were played, while the “do not play” choices were not. Being a dance teacher, and having many dancers at the event, a good DJ was a must. My only issue was the length of transitions between songs. While they had a good beat, they were long transitions and hard to keep the energy going during the change of songs. Nonetheless, Craig did a great job with mixing songs and creating a high energy dance floor for everyone at the wedding. I would definitely recommend Soundwaves Entertainment for anyone getting married in the central/southern PA area.

Like any couple that plans their own wedding, you know it can get overwhelming very quickly. One thing we did not need to worry about was our entertainment. Chris and the Soundwaves team made the planning and execution before and during the wedding extremely easy and offered a competitive price. What more could you ask for! We had a quick planning meeting prior to the wedding, had full access to the planning website to input our songs and go over the schedule of events. Our DJ, Craig, showed up early, ready to go and quickly reviewed the nights events with us to made sure everyone was on the same page. He didn't miss a beat, playing exactly what we wanted at the exact right time during the ceremony. The party ensued afterwards and Craig was able to get the dance floor going! He stayed flexible with the music and took requests, which made the whole night that much better for our guests. Overall, the team was professional throughout the entire process, didn't miss a beat, and kept the excitement going all night at a great price! Soundwaves comes highly recommended to all newly weds looking to check one more thing off their GIANT wedding planning list without a worry!

We had a great experience with Soundwaves! There was an online planner that allowed us to add songs to different playlists as well as update the timeline of events. This made the day go really smoothly and allowed our DJ, Craig, to know everything that was going on. Chris Pyle, the owner, was very responsive and organized. Craig was very energetic and on top of things at our wedding, which allowed us to actually enjoy our wedding day! Craig also continuously checked in with us and ensured everyone knew what was happening and when, like the speeches and dances.

We had a wonderful experience with this DJ. They were the best price we found and had everything that we were looking for. The DJ, Craig, did a great job with everything, but most importantly he really made sure that my wife and I were good with everything and that the day was going how we wanted. My wife and I selected SoundWaves Entertainment to DJ a delayed reception/family and friends reunion. The short answer is that Chris was great to work with in preparing for the event and Craig was a fantastic DJ at the event. Their experience came through in the communications and planning capability, interfacing with the facility, setup, and overall integration of the event. Craig’s communication with us at the event was outstanding, making for a fantastic evening. Multiple people noted what a great DJ he was and I agree.

We had DJ Craig from Soundwave Entertainment for our wedding and overall he was great!
Leading up to the wedding we filled out some forms to gauge what songs we wanted and didn’t want for the party which made things go smoothly. We also had a few phone conferences with Chris (the owner) which also put our minds at ease.
Day of the wedding, Craig showed up ready to rock-n-roll (pun intended). He did a good job introducing the wedding party and setting the dinner vibe while everyone ate. He even made our silly request to say “when you’re here you’re family” like Olive Garden! Once dinner was over he switched over to party mode, and did a good job getting people out on the dance floor. He played all of the songs that we requested and threw in a couple others.
We went with the photo booth option from soundwave for the wedding. Unfortunately, we forgot to have the DJ announce the photo booth, so not everyone found it – but those that did had a great time! We also rented Cornhole from soundwave which they set up and removed. Personally, we never got a chance to use it but we saw a number of people playing all night!
For our grand finale, we decided to go with the cold sparkler exit option at the end of the night. Soundwaves brought that equipment and set it up and tore it down too. It went very well and we have some amazing exit photos!
Overall, day of the wedding Craig showed up prepared, was easy to work with, and helped to create a good vibe on the dance floor. Before the wedding, Chris was more than happy to answer emails and send out reminders for a smooth process. We were able to request songs easily on the website and have guests request songs as well. We would definitely recommend them to someone looking for a wedding DJ!

Chris and his staff are phenomenal! They respond quickly and will work with you to create a DJ experience that is exactly what you want. I was very particular in what I wanted played and Craig (our DJ) followed our list to a T. He came to check in with me and my husband before the next stage (introductions, cake cutting, etc.). The planning software was so hopeful in figuring out our wedding timeline in general and for the music. Seriously, couldn’t have had a better DJ! We were so happy with Soundwaves Entertainment, especially DJ Craig! He did awesome keeping the dance floor vibes up and was so nice throughout the whole process!

Our DJ, Tony, was fantastic! He was so nice, and he was super flexible with our videographers & photographers when some equipment needed to be moved around. He really listened to what my spouse and I did and didn't want regarding song choices. I really appreciated that he even found me to ask if it was okay if he played a specific song request from a guest that fell in the genre I didn't like. We had guests on the dance floor all night, and they all enjoyed him as well! We got the photo booth as well, and our attendants for the booth were amazing as well!

Jacob was awesome for our wedding! He helped immensely with the timeline and the ceremony. Everyone talked about how he kept the night going with music and had everyone out on the dancefloor. 10/10 recommend, thank you Jacob and Soundwaves!

We were so happy with our experience with Soundwaves! We had DJ Patrick who was super fun to work with and also made sure we were taken care of during our entire reception. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a wedding DJ in the PA area.

Soundwaves is amazing!!! Throughout the whole process Chris kept good communication to both of us. The website makes thinks super easy, and we were able to personalize what songs we wanted/didn’t want. He kept the energy in the dance floor!!

DJ Jim was great! Everything was so seamless. He had all of his equipment set up ahead of time, mics on, music playing, it went perfect! Great announcing and music. We had such a blast! Soundwaves provides great planning tools as well!

DJ Jim from Soundwaves Entertainment was a huge reason why our wedding day was such a success. The meetings that we had with him prior to the wedding helped put my mind at ease and the attention to detail the day of made everything go so smoothly. He kept the party going all night which is exactly what we wanted. Highly recommend using Soundwaves Entertainment!

We were so glad we went with sound wave entertainment for our wedding! Jim Anderson was our DJ and he did an amazing job. Great communication before and during the wedding. He followed our timeline perfectly and adjusted when needed. He really got the party started and got everyone to the dance floor, Would definitely recommend!!

We hired Chris, the owner, for our ceremony and reception. He was very in depth and answered all of our questions very timely!! Yes, everything you have to fill out can be a little daunting, however I can see how it really helps the DJ get a feel for what music you like. We put a lot of thought into our lists, and Chris NAILED it the whole night! I love his attention to detail, he really read the room and laid attention to what was going on- I'm sure that it wasnt coincidence that "Shots" was playing when shots were poured for a huge group of guests and us! It was perfect for such a spontaneous large group shot! The uplighting was stunning and dancing on a cloud was like something out of a dream. The only mishap was at the beginning of the reception, he called my husband by the wrong name, but I still rate 5 stars. Chris wasn't feeling 100% on our wedding day but still showed up, made the entire event run smoothly, and helped our wedding vision come true!

you had an amazing wedding day! I sincerely apologize for accidentally saying the wrong name. I said it correctly for your introduction but accidentally said the incorrect name after the song finished. I do apologize. I glanced down at my paperwork and accidentally looked at the wrong name. I had a severe sinus infection and my head felt like a football but the show must go on! My couples wedding day is very important to me and I always want make sure everything is flawless.

I communicated with at least seven different DJ companies, and no one else was as knowledge or as professional as the people at Soundwaves Entertainment. from my initial call with Tony, I knew I was in good hands. He knocked it out of the park as our phenomenal MC/DJ for our wedding who was personable, fun, and kept our 115 guests on the dance floor all night long. People are still talking about how much fun they had at our reception. I appreciated his frequent check-ins throughout the planning process, his experienced suggestions, and his impeccable ability to keep my husband and I on a timeline when things got hectic on the wedding day. He made the process and the wedding day stress-free. I would definitely recommend this vendor to ANYONE looking to plan a large event.

Chris was incredible!!!! He knew exactly how to keep everyone on the dance floor. My wife and I received so many complements on the music. Chris was very easy to work with. Chris and his team made sure we had everything we needed for a great celebration. We would without a doubt recommend them!!!
