Stage One us not only a DJ service, they have so many add on services. Photo booth, lights, beautiful letters to use as initials. Darrell and crew are not only professional but also friendly and knowledgeable. Hard time picking songs, full of suggestions from the past and present. Very knowledgeable of all types of music. They have done the music of both my children's receptions. Highly recommend!

Darrell DJ'd Mark and Lauren's wedding in September. The ceremony was outside on a hill and the reception and dance in a large barndominium. He brought enough to set up at both areas without missing a beat at either site. The effort made to make the night perfect for the kids was appreciated and he kept the wedding on track and us dancing late into the evening. Thanks for the good time. (yes he is my brother, but you can ask anyone who attended, it was a great time). Destination wedding? Major Venue? it doesn't matter he will make sure you have a good time.

Darrell was absolutely fantastic! He is not just a great DJ, he helped emcee our reception and make sure that things ran smoothly. When I was getting overwhelmed with planning the wedding, I had a meeting with Darrell and he walked me through the day step by step and helped me plan. On the day of, he basically acted as a day of coordinator to make sure that we had the best wedding ever. I can’t thank Darrell enough. He is fantastic!

From the start Darrell was great to work with. One thing we wanted was a full dance floor and he helped us accomplish just that! His music selection kept everyone dancing and also provided seamless transitions throughout the night from ceremony to cocktail hour, to reception. Darrell with Stage One Events absolutely killed it, we can't say enough how incredibly happy we are with our experience!! He routinely checked in with us, kept everyone on track, and was a big help picking out the type of music we'd like to play. We didn't provide a playlist, only certain music genres, and we weren't sure how many of our guests would be on the dance floor. But his music choices were so perfect, the majority of our guests were on the dance floor all night long. We were absolutely blown away and incredibly impressed, we highly recommend Stage One Events.

Words can’t even begin to explain how perfect our wedding was all because of Stage One Productions!! From the moment I found him on The Knot, I knew he was going to be the one. After meeting with him and getting to know him, his personality, and what kind of Dj he is we were immediately hooked and booked him right away! Darrell is extremely talented and absolutely loves what he does. His rentals were out of this world stunning! The Photobooth was incredible! We had guests there all night long and got back a personalized book with all our guests photos and signatures. The best weeding keepsake we could have asked for! We had the easiest time planning with Darell and he gave us the BEST suggestions and documents to make all our song choices. He had so many amazing recommendations and he helped keep us calm and relaxed with choosing all our music for our wedding. Then the day of the wedding I was just in tears at how perfect the songs were and how well everything came together. The cocktail hour to dinner and introductions and everything in between, Darell was frequently in contact with us and the guests and made everything run so smoothly. THEN the dancing!! Again, words can’t even begin to describe how amazing the dancing and dance floor was! I didn’t leave for a second because it was too much fun ! Every guest had an absolute blast and it truly was the most magical night! I would recommend Stage one in a heartbeat and hope everyone who has DJ needs will hire him! We love Stage One!! We are so so pleased with how our wedding planning and wedding day played out thanks to Stage One Events! Darrell was such a joy to work with as he is very knowledgeable about his music and equipment set up, and most importantly he clearly loves what he does! Darrell is an excellent communicator, and thrives on helping people celebrate and have an unforgettable day with their loved ones. My husband is in the military and deployed last year, and Stage One Events was gracious enough to give us a military appreciation discount/gift which we will be forever thankful for! The planning sheet and planning meeting was SO helpful and we ultimately used the sheet as our wedding ceremony/reception outline for the day. Darrell was so enthusiastic about song suggestions and supported us when we wanted to "branch out" from traditional wedding songs which made us and our guests smile and laugh all evening! We had many guests traveling from low altitude, so the fact that Darrell made a friendly reminder announcement to drink water during the reception made me that much more satisfied with his services! The music played through the day and night was absolutely perfect, I was on the dance floor as much as I could be when I wasn't talking to my guests! I would recommend Stage One Events to anyone planning a wedding or event that needs a lively and witty DJ to entertain a crowd!

This is THE BEST wedding DJ of all time! Our guests absolutely had a blast and we owe it all to Darrell! I'm not sure if he’s ever had so many wedding guests attempt to bribe him to keep playing past 10:00, but it's definitely a testament to how much they loved the music! Darrell did a great job of maintaining the flow of events throughout the evening. He kept up the energy while also keeping us organized and making sure guests knew what was happening. We appreciated him checking in with us throughout the evening. It was truly the most fun we've ever had dancing at a wedding, and although our knees are still trying to recover from 3 straight hours on the dance floor, we would absolutely do it all again! We will recommend Darrell to all of our friends, and might even try to crash any future weddings where he will be the DJ!

Darrell was absolutely wonderful! I could tell from the moment we had our first meeting that he was going to be one of the DJ's that I could rely on to keep the dance floor full all night. He 100% delivered and then some by even acting as almost a coordinator for our timeline. He went above and beyond making sure things ran smoothly and I loved not having to worry about a thing and instead getting to dance the night away. If you are like me and just want to dance all night but want your DJ to read the room and play what the people want whether they are 19 or 90 then Darrell is the guy for you! He was organized and punctual and he made wonderful suggestions when we weren't sure which songs to use. We only selected songs for the ceremony, entrances, and first dances but otherwise we told him the age ranges of our guests, artists we like, and he did all the work! We had a blast and are so thankful we hired Darrell. I was very turned off by the idea of not knowing or meeting our DJ beforehand which is what most of the big DJ companies do... so we loved knowing Darrell would be there for our day! He was very fairly priced especially given the fact that you are secure in knowing who your DJ is from day one and all the meetings were with him. I recommend Stage One to all couples for their day!

Darrell was such a pleasure to have on our special day! From his knowledge of the venue, promptness with weather changes, flexibility and attentiveness we knew from the start we were in great hands! Darrell was an absolute delight to work with. He was super fun, high-energy, and really brought the party! He played all of the songs we requested, did a great job MC'ing, was very communicative leading up to the wedding, and was overall just super great. I can't recommend him enough!

We loved working with Darrell and Tara! We had a no-fuss mountain wedding and wanted a DJ that would provide a good time but wouldn't upcharge for a bunch of unnecessary things like fancy lighting. Despite being the most affordable DJs we found, Darrell was everything we were looking for and very talented. The planning meetings were really helpful, and it was clear that Darrell understood the type of vibe we were going for. The planning tools Stage One provides were very helpful, especially since we didn't have a wedding planner or day-of coordinator. We definitely felt confident going into the day that Darrell would have everything covered, even with our outdoor venue and reception space in the mountains. Darrell's experience clearly showed as he followed the energy of the crowd throughout the night, and he was able to adjust as he went to keep people dancing. Darrell also went above and beyond in cutting/splicing the songs we used in our ceremony and reception to make sure we got the most important lyrics played without having the songs drag on longer than was needed. Stage One provides an incredible value for their services, and we would highly recommend them for any event!

Our wedding was last month and everyone loved DJ Darrell! My sister even said that if she gets married in CO someday she's booking him! Darrell really knows how to read a room and transition songs smoothly to avoid any awkward silence on the dance floor. He and his wife also provide a welcome packet with suggested songs to help you make decisions on your special moments, and I thought this was super helpful. Our dance floor was packed all night and we owe that to Stage One!

Darrell is amazing!! We just got married last Saturday, and he did an astounding job. We had, what felt like, a lot of special requests, and he did a phenomenal job making our music dreams come true! He had people on the dance floor all night and kept the night so fun, and perfect! I would recommend him to anyone and everyone. He was one of my favorite vendors, and I would use him a million times again.

My husband and I got married at Rist Canyon Inn and found Stage One after the venue made a few recommendations. I knew immediately after meeting with Darrell that he was the right fit for our wedding. Like someone else noted, there is a good reason why Stage One has so many positive 5-star reviews. He is so friendly, down to earth, and clearly knowledgable about his work. Initially we did not have a good direction on our own for music, but Darrell made it a seamless process to narrow down ideas and preferences that fit our style and guests. Both Darrell and his wife, Tara, were extremely professional and friendly throughout the whole process. We had a small wedding (42 people) and I was nervous that people wouldn't be dancing, but Darrell did an amazing job at getting everyone out there and kept them dancing all night! I highly recommend Stage One Events for all of your event needs!

We loved working with Darrell and Tara. From the first phone call they made us feel really comfortable with the services they provide and on the wedding day, Darrell did an amazing job, not only DJing, but keeping the wedding flowing all night, I would recommend him to anybody looking for a DJ in the Denver area.

A skeptical person might see these reviews and say "all 5 stars, that's fishy..." but I can assure you, after working with Darrell and Tara every single star is well earned! These guys are amazing, not only at the actual execution of their service, but at all the planning and communication leading up to the event. They communicated well and quickly, asked pertinent questions that come from years of experience to ensure that your wedding is exactly how you imagined it. I can't rave about them enough and this review could go on and on, but I will leave you with one little anecdote that shows their quality. First of, Darrell crushed it as an MC during the ceremony and through the dinner portion of the reception. Then later on as a DJ, he took a moment to remind the crowd (many of whom are not from Colorado and are not used to the altitude) that alcohol has a more dramatic effect in the mountains/at altitude and that everyone should be drinking more water to help balance the effects. I was just so impressed that he took the time to remind people of that and I am sure many of our guests were grateful for the reminder the next morning. Thank you so much, Darrell and Tara, you guys made such a huge, positive difference at our wedding. I don't think it would have been nearly as successful as it was without you. I hope I've done you justice with this review and I will certainly be recommending you via word-of-mouth to our friends when they decide to tie the knot.

Darrel was an amazing DJ at our wedding. He and Tara kept in touch throughout the entire process and were understanding when we had to reschedule our wedding in 2020. They were great to work with and very professional. Darrel helped the night run smoothly as emcee and everyone had a great time!

DJ Darrell was AWESOME! He and his wife Tara were great to work with throughout our process. They were friendly, helpful, and down to Earth. We got so many comments on how great the DJ was at our wedding! He listened to what we wanted with types of songs and created a great playlist that kept people on the dance floor right up to the very end. We also added on the photo booth option and LOVED it. They had some fun props and gave us a copy of every picture in a book that people could sign. I would highly recommend DJ Darrell for any wedding or event!

My husband and I were so happy we picked Stage One to do our wedding! They were awesome and worked with us during COVID and changing our date. Super easy to work with, you tell them what music you like and they take care of the rest! Best night ever!!

My husband and I are so happy we chose Darrell and Tara for our wedding. Weddings are stressful enough, and even more so when you’re planning it from across the country like we were. We were very comfortable working with Darrell. We had no idea what we were doing but his meetings with us put us at ease. As far as the day of the wedding, everything went perfectly, and he solved things on the fly that we didn’t even know about until after. Our coordinator had not provided him the dossier, but Darrell was very intuitive and was able to do exactly what was needed and what we wanted. He was able to improvise and seamlessly loop the music when needed based on timing not going as planned and still fit how I wanted the processional to go. I gave him a very specific direction of how I wanted the processional song to be done and he delivered. He was able to do the same with our first dance song. Since we were doing a bit of a choreographed (basic) ballroom dance, we needed certain parts cut and he was able to make it sound like the song was made that way. Most special moment was when we asked for a last dance of just my husband and I, he had everyone leave the room. I looked up while dancing expecting him to still be in the DJ booth, but he had stepped outside the door as well to give us that extra private special moment. The other best moment of the night was when a drunk guest that we definitely did not want to give an unplanned drunk speech grabbed the microphone off his booth without asking him, or anyone, and tried to give her drunk speech…he kept the music turned up and the microphone muted. Still appreciative AND laughing about that one. Thank you so much for everything!

10/10 would recommend Stage One! Darrell and Tara were so amazing to work with! Coordinating with them was great and they work with you to create everything you want. Darrell has been DJing a long time and knows what he's doing. He immensely helped things move along smoothly. His set up is awesome and so professional and he is fun and lively! We greatly enjoyed working with Darryl and Tara. Darryl is always prepared and had a backup sound system for us when the venue sound system wasn’t working. He helped create a mashup for the father-daughter dance with a scratching sound in the middle like it was a mistake. We fooled everyone! My only regret was not getting my brothers reaction on camera!

Our DJ was amazing! He worked with me on choosing each song for ceremony, grand entrance and rehearsal. Whenever I wasn’t sure what I wanted played during a certain time of the night, he knew exactly what to play based on my personality and preference of music. I had several people tell me the next day how great our DJ was and how he played good songs all night. He even spent over an hour going over the timeline and details before the wedding so we knew exactly was going expect going into it. He really helped us with keeping on schedule throughout the night And helped guide our guests from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception. Was super impressed with him and highly recommend!

This is the best DJ! He was so organized and in COVID life was still able to give us the photo booth props we so badly wanted! He was absolutely amazing, going so far as to find me a safety pin when my bustle broke! Above and beyond

Darrell was awesome at keeping the pace and had some games that kept the night going. He and Tara were very easy to get into contact with and so detail oriented. The music selection was awesome as well. We ended up moving our timeline up a little since we had such a small outdoor wedding in the cold and Darrell was ready for anything! He kept the night running smoothly and did an amazing job!

Stage One Events is THE BEST. Book'em ... that's all you need to know!! But seriously, Darrell and Tara are completely on top of planning (even for an ultra- planner like myself), and they execute flawlessly the day of the event. On top of that, they are super fun, outgoing, and bring an energy that will keep the fun (and dancing) going all night long. Going above and beyond, they supplied fantastic lighting and even wood-worked initials to incorporate into our decorations. This team is more than just "a wedding-day vendor", they're practically like family, and I can't think of anyone better to have be a part of an incredibly special day!

I truly cannot speak highly enough about Stage One! Tara and Darrell were wonderful to work with. My wife and I had 180 people at our wedding, and a lot of them can be a little wild. We had a vision of what we wanted and they made a point to cater the entertainment to that. We were well informed, their layout was in-depth, yet easy to follow. They played what we wanted, and made sure that we could have a “do not play” list. Their communication was second to none, they were on the ball with every request. Stage One did an amazing job for our wedding! Darrell was super helpful with creating a special song (mash-up) for me to dance to with my mom/father-in-law. This was very important to me since my father has passed away and I was unable to do a traditional father-daughter dance. I also used their photo booth at the wedding and it was a HUGE hit! All of my guests loved it and we loved the extra photos they gave to us in a photo album.

Darrell and Tara are such a great duo and helped make our day go incredibly smooth. I am the type of bride who stressed over the tiniest of details, but after all was said and done, the day wouldn’t have been complete without Darrell and Tara. This family duo is fun loving and easy to get along with and truly has your best interest in mind as a bride /groom. He was more than accommodating for my every request (we even requested to play the lava song from Pixar and they found it for us). Darrell kept the party going all night and we never wanted to leave there dance floor. He was also by far one of the most affordable DJs which I so appreciated as I was a bride on a budget. Last minute, we decided to do their photo booth package they offer and I’m so glad we did. The pictures turned out great! It could’ve have been a better night and they were a huge part of that! We had a perfect experience with Darrell! He listened to our specific likes/dislikes, asked questions I had never thought to address, and ended up being way more than just the guy who plays the music. Stage One Events is THE BEST! My husband and I listed music/DJ as one of the most important things for our wedding, so picking a DJ was a big decision for us. Our Day of Coordinator (Luxe Event Productions) suggested Stage One Events and is was the best recommendation we received! Tara and Darrell were extremely helpful, attentive and patient leading up to the wedding. During the actual wedding, Darrell was not only an amazing DJ but emcee as well! He worked seamlessly with Luxe Event Productions, helped control the schedule of the ceremony and reception and was so great with checking in with me throughout the entire day. And I'll add that I picked unique versions of songs for walking down the aisle and for our first dance and Darrell CAME THROUGH. It made it beyond special. I can't express how grateful my husband and I are for Stage One Events!

Where to begin on how AMAZING Darrel and Tara truly are.... if there are any two people in this crazy time of wedding plannning you should choose to have by your side it’s Stage One Events. When I first emailed them, and Tara immediately responded same night, I knew they were amazing people, however that was just the start of how wonderful they truly are! We had a longer then most planning time and sometimes months between communication with them, and they never forget a single detail. They created the MOST PERSONAL wedding we could have ever dreamed of. From creating our monogram to meeting us at Starbucks on more then one occasion to making sure we were not to hot at the reception. They are very knowledgeable in all genres of music and how to keep all guests entertained through the entire time. They created a very memorable wedding for us, and our guests have not stopped commenting on how wonderful of job they did for our wedding! I can only give them five stars on this site, however they deserve 500 million stars! CHOOSE STAGE ONE EVENTS!!!!!
