- Elizabeth EckerdtFloral DesignerElizabeth, a born and raised Colorado native, has enjoyed developing creative solutions for a variety of professions since receiving a degree in art history and communication design from Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colorado. Elizabeth’s life-long passion for art and design has led her to exciting and challenging jobs. Since graduating, she has designed science-graphics and developed media at the National Oceanic Atmospheric Association in Boulder. She has designed brand identity; logos, business cards, stationary, websites, and signage for several businesses, including downtown Denver’s 17th Street Law Firm. A year ago, Elizabeth was privileged to be hired at Sturtz And Copeland and continues to apply her creative-solution skills in the medium of beautiful flowers. She feels fortunate to work with a wonderful and creative staff to those ends. Elizabeth enjoys spending time with animals and being outdoors. She loves to draw, paint and DIY in her spare time.

I asked for Mandy said yes. She brought my vision to reality at 1/2 of what I had expected it to cost. Mandy found out via my husband that peony’s are my favorite flower. With a late summer wedding, I always assumed peony’s were not an option (in my budget). Much to my surprise on my wedding day there were 3 beautiful peony’s in my bouquet. Mandy is like a best friend, her attitude and presence are contagious and I would hire her 1000 times over again. Don’t think twice about hiring Sturtz, you don’t have to pay an arm and a leg like the quotes you are probably receiving. Mandy, I wish we could do it all over again! It was such a pleasure to work with you.

We had one phone call and exchanged a couple of Pinterest photos, and somehow, with just that little bit of background, she managed to completely turn my vision into a reality ... perhaps more importantly, within my budget. She came up with fabulous combinations that combined aromatic herbs and succulents with seasonal flowers and fantastic colors for bouquets that blew me and my guests away. Flowers can make or break the vibe you're going for, especially on your wedding day, and I am so grateful I trusted Heidi at Sturtz & Copeland to make the magic happen. st our venue provided. We made an appointment a few months before the wedding, gave Heidi some ideas, some photos, and a swatch of the bridesmaid dresses. She fit within the budget constraints that we had and made some of the most beautiful arrangements I have ever seen! We had a book-themed centerpiece with old books that were important to us, and Heidi worked the flowers into our book theme providing a small flower arrangement for each table. We had so many compliments -everyone wanted to know who did the flowers!

rist we talked to. I was really impressed - we worked with Lisa who was super organized and put together an amazing plan for us with not a ton of input from us. Pretty much the only requests were the colors and to keep it to a wildflower type look, I left the rest up to her. She put together beautiful arrangements (I don't know much about flowers honestly so having her artistic input was great) and she even picked out the flowers for my hair and for the cake. They also delivered everything to the site (which was in local in Boulder) and made sure everyone had their flowers, arrangements were set in the right places, helped the guys put on their flowers, etc. for a very small fee. Everything turned out perfect, I couldn't be happier with the experience.

en in all forms, so we asked that they make everything except my bouquet without flowers, so that he wouldn't spend the whole day miserable. I still wanted everything to be colorful, and also go with our rustic, western themed wedding. We provided shotgun shell boutonniere holders and some pheasant feathers and antlers that were left over from the centerpieces that we made. They did a great job incorporating those elements, but how they really shined was their creative use of non-allergy-inducing elements. The bouquets included cabbage, hot peppers, fall berries, pincushion protea, grasses, orchids, succulents fiddle-head ferns and coxcomb. The boutonnieres had similar elements, and my husband's even had an air plant. They were beyond amazing! We were completely blown away - they went above and beyond my wildest dreams. It sounds dramatic, but we were completely ecstatic with their work and highly recommend them, especially if you are looking for something unique and beyond basic. They'll be our go-to florist from now on!

ot to walk through the cooler and point out all the flowers I had in mind. We emailed back and forth after our initial meeting to finalize plans, designs, budgets. She delivered the flowers to our venue and handed out bouquets, pinned boutineers, and set up all the centerpieces, ceremony decor, and cake flowers. Everything looked beautiful! She let us hold on to the vases for two weeks so we could enjoy the flowers for longer and not stress about getting them back in. Some of the flowers lasted the whole two weeks! I was very happy with our flowers.

I loved my wedding bouquet as it was exactly what I had pictured and the bridesmaids bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres looked perfect. My husband and I wanted all of our flowers to look natural and unique, and Sturtz and Copeland accomplished that perfectly. id not seem very knowledgeable and were unwilling to give us suggestions on what would go well together, what would be in season, etc. There were many times she even said that she did not know if a particular flower would be in season for our wedding! It seemed that she wanted us to design our flowers, but them being the experts, I think this should be their role!

what we had wanted. Her mistakes were unnoticed by our guests, however as the bride, I knew what I had asked for and what was not delivered.
My suggestion for future brides is to make sure your florist fully knows what you'd like, and to possibly see the flowers the day before the wedding.

She helped me to pick out flowers that would create the looks I wanted that would also stay in my budget.
She was also so helpful when I changed my mind three times.
Part of the reason I came to them was because I wanted potted flowers for my table center pieces, something people could take home and plant, they were able to get the plants, pot them, and them store them in a fridge so the blooms would still be around on the day of my wedding.
They really went above and beyond.

Sturtz ended up making many centerpieces, and a floral arch, under which we were married. The arch got rained on, and had to be repaired, but that wasn't a problem, and nobody could tell it had ever been damaged.

Almost everything in their store can be rented, so don't be afraid to ask them about it (just be reasonable, they're obviously not going to rent out cut flowers, etc).
