The Alexander, A Dolce Hotel hosts single-faith, multi-faith, and non-religious wedding ceremonies as well as civil unions, commitment ceremonies, second weddings, and vow renewal ceremonies. The hotel has 16,500 square feet of event space spread across 17 flexible indoor banqueting and meeting rooms. The Alexander Ballroom is ideal for larger gatherings at 3,520 square feet and hosting up to 220 guests for a banquet. These indoor spaces are complemented by three outdoor venues. Additional event spaces are available for celebrations, including Plat 99 and Market Table. All I can say is WOW!
We held our wedding last Sunday at The Alexander and it was FANTASTIC! We had a very small wedding but Beth Clark made us feel like we were the most important guests in the whole hotel. She was so attentive and helped us walk through any and all details and gave us great advice on any areas we needed guidance. She was so responsive. She also worked with us to customize what we wanted. This was no cookie cutter experience! I would definitely recommend her and The Alexander for your wedding.
The spaces we rented were so beautiful and every one of our guests complimented the spaces. We had our ceremony on the outdoor terrace of the Ralston and the cocktail hour in the Ralston as well. We held our reception in the City Way Gallery. The food was fantastic also! Our guests and us loved everything. Honestly we couldn't have asked for a better day.
We have stayed at the Alexander before so it was a no-brainer to use it for our wedding block! The nice thing is they on't charge you for rooms that don't get filled! Many other hotels will make you pay for the rooms that didn't get reserved! They allowed us to do pictures around the hotel after the ceremony and they are gorgeous! They even made sure myself and the groom were on different floors to minimize the chances of us seeing each other! The night before we rented the Platt99 bar for a Welcome Party. The food was delicious, the cocktails were refreshing and the beer was ice cold! They were a pleasure to work with and everything was fantastic!
Alexander is the place to be!!! My wife and I recently got married on New Years Eve. We were lucky enough to have our Welcome Party and hotel arrangements all at this hotel and it was phenomenal! Ellie Miller was such a great host and made sure we got everything we could have dreamed for. Ally Hall from Plat99 was amazing and we couldn’t have asked for a better host/mixologist/bartender/manager. If your considering the Alexander - just do it! All of the staff at Plat99 and the hotel we’re great. We couldn’t have been happier
The Alexander is a place where dreams come true! Everything about our October Wedding was beautiful. I had so many visions and details I wanted and Shanda made all of them come true! The space, the bar, the outdoor sitting area, the hotels rooms, etc. were all amazing! The food was delicious and the drinks were flowing! The Alexander was more than accommodating and I would not have changed one detail about our evening! I will look back on these memories for a lifetime!
We just had the best NYE wedding ever for our daughter! We worked with Ellie Miller and she couldn’t have executed a better evening for us. If you haven’t been up to the 2nd floor of the Alexander- it is a must for venue shopping. The space is beautiful. The food was spectacular. We are still getting rave reviews from our guests. Ellie listened to everything we wanted and made it happen. The ballroom was transformed into a NYE celebration that we will never forget. She didn’t forget one detail we talked about. Also, when planning a wedding you need to be at a hotel! It is so nice to just walk to your room after celebrating into the evening. The staff was wonderful. We even extended the party until 1:30am because we didn’t want it to end. I highly recommend the Alexander Hotel!
My experience working with everyone at The Alexander was absolutely phenomenal. Jennifer was extremely helpful in the early stages while trying to figure out pricing and getting everything booked and she answered any questions I had promptly and thoroughly. My now husband and I live in Delaware full time and it was difficult planning a wedding in another state but everyone we worked with helped to make all the planning as easy as possible! Mariah exceeded all expectations as she helped us with every little detail of planning to make our day perfect. She was easy to get in contact with when I had any questions, she organized set up with all the different vendors that I had coming in both before the wedding day and the day of and made sure that I had everything that I needed throughout the entire experience. I can not say enough good things about her and we truly could not have done everything without her. The catering staff was amazing as well, my bartender Angela was so friendly and fun and the rest of the staff truly helped transform our reception area (Market Table) into more than I could have even envisioned. Angelo and Madison were helping to set it up and made sure everything was perfect along with answering any questions I had and bringing me water before walking down the aisle :) Madison then brought everything up to my room at the end of the night along with all my presents and cards, the top of my cake, champagne, a congratulatory note and even a note to read in a year on our first wedding anniversary! They truly exceeded all expectations and I could not be happier. In addition to the wonderful staff the hotel itself was stunning. We had our ceremony outside in the Plaza and the day turned out to be beautiful. We then went right inside to the Gallery for cocktail hour and then right next door to Market Table for the reception. Every area had its own unique feel and was perfect for each separate occasion. The hotel rooms were clean and had amazing toiletries and the most comfortable beds and pillows I have ever slept with. Overall there isn’t one thing that I would change about this amazing weekend and I wish I could relive the day over and over again with the help of the amazing staff that helped make our special day as effortless for us as possible :)
The Alexander was the perfect place for our reception and just what my husband and I wanted for our special day. I was not looking forward to planning a wedding from a remote city but Caroline the coordinator made the whole process much easier and much more enjoyable than I could ever imagine. She was able to address all our questions quickly and was flexible when we had last minute changes. I had so many compliments from our guests about the hotel, bar, staff and food at the Alexander. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a downtown Indy wedding!
If I were to choose one aspect of our wedding which was consisently on point throughout the entire process, it would be our reception venue, The Alexander. The space is absolutely inspiring and speaks for itself with minimal outside decor needed, and the food is out of this world! Our guests are still talking about the food and overall atmosphere today. Caroline was such a pleasure to work with, and she brings a lot of experience to the table. We explained our vision and ideas, and Caroline really brought it all to life! All of the staff at the hotel are friendly, easy-going, and quick to respond. Caroline and all other staff truly relieved any potential stress that can come from choosing a venue and planning the wedding.
The Alexander is ABSOLUTELY amazing!! We choose the Alexander for our venue for our wedding and we could not have chosen an better location. The event coordinator Caroline is one of the kind. Caroline is ABSOLUTELY amazing!! She made sure our day was prefect. We had a little situation come up while our wedding was getting ready to start BUT no worries Caroline came to the rescue and worked EVERYTHING out! Caroline is wonderful.
The staff and food in the Market Place is unbelievable!! My wedding guest is still talking about the food today. The staff literally catered to us in every since of the way.

Planning an out of state wedding seemed like a daunting task, but once being connected with Caroline and the gorgeous Alexander venue, the process seemed not only doable, but very seamless from planning to execution of our perfect wedding! Communication was easy and we were guided through the process to where we could relax once the wedding weekend had actually arrived. No last minute panic about the minor details or needs since we had full trust our outside vendors would come through as they were highly recommend and Caroline had great working relationships with them for a smooth event. We couldn't have asked for a better person to work with or a nicer venue with all the accommodations we could ask for! THANK YOU for our perfect wedding weekend that none of us wanted to end!
The service and attention to detail at The Alexander is unparalleled. Caroline helped my husband and I plan every detail of the wedding, and made sure that our special day went off without any issues. The hotel lent itself towards incredible pictures that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Looking back on our special day is something that I like to do often, and our stay at The Alexander is a large part of the supremely happy memories that come to mind. Plus the presidential suite made us feel like a king and queen on our most happy day. The ceremony in the courtyard outside of the hotel was beautiful, and made the whole day incredibly easy for our guests. The food at the rehearsal and ceremony were memorable, and having the opportunity to sit down and try all of the dishes in advance of the wedding made it very easy to feel confident that our guests would be happy with the selections. All in all The Alexander was an incredible place to tie the knot, and we couldn't have been more happy with our decision.
The Alexander is the perfect venue for a downtown wedding, reception and stay... and we certainly hit the jackpot with having Caroline as our event manager. Our guests loved the contemporary and artsy feel to the hotel and they still rave about how delicious dinner was at our reception. The hotel staff’s customer service was top-notch as each and every staff member we interacted with was always friendly, prompt and professional. The multiple indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception area options are very versatile which allowed us to create a perfect and “unique-to-us” wedding day.
Caroline was a true all-star for us ... she's very responsive and extremely knowledgeable, detail-oriented, positive, honest, and professional. Planning a wedding can be quite overwhelming and stressful at times, and Caroline’s calm but friendly & fun demeanor helped put us at-ease throughout the entire process. We highly recommend The Alexander as we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
I did not have my reception here, but blocked rooms here for my wedding guests and myself. Everyone was more than welcoming and nice. The location and decor is beautiful and I was thrilled to be able to shoot a large amount of my wedding photos here. I was also able to have my dog stay with us so she could be included in a few shots since this is the MOST pet friendly hotel in the city. Love this place!
From the very beginning The Alexander and Caroline were a dream to work with. When we told Caroline that we wanted a non seated festival style dinner, with a rocking band...all outside, she was equally on board and excited about our idea as we were. She was so organized and guided us with her expertise as we made decisions we never even thought about. Each detail seemed to go above and beyond what was necessary to make sure the event was perfect. Each meeting with Caroline felt like chatting with one of my bridesmaids about wedding details over a glass of wine. When the wedding weekend arrived we felt like celebrities. Many of the staff made a point to come up to us to introduce themselves and made themselves known if we needed anything. The whole day was flawless and if it wasn't they figured out the issues without me even noticing. We received numerous compliments on how awesome the hotel was and how delicious the food was. I could not have imagined our wedding anywhere else!
I would recommend this venue to any couple that is planning their very special day. We worked with Caroline Myers and her staff, they were absolutely amazing in every single way, from flexibility and accommodation to literally making our wedding visions come to life in every single way. I would do anything to go back to our special day and re-live it moment by moment. We plan to spend anniversaries and just evenings downtown at The Alexander. It's so hard to put into words what they have done for us, Caroline was and is absolutely amazing and we can't thank her and The Alexander enough for making our dream wedding more than just a dream come true and for making us and our guests feel like we were home during our stay. Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts. We love you all!

Our families and friends are still taking about the servers entrance for dinner. Top notch!!! Everything was perfect the weather, cocktail hour, reception. We had our dream wedding! Working with Caroline Myers and the staff at the hotel made everything super easy and smooth. Highly recommend couples to have their wedding at the Alexander. If you have guest coming from out of town, The Alexander is super cute and convenient too. They have local beers on tap and art displayed all over the hotel created by local artists.
The Alexander was beautiful! We took all of our pictures in the bar and downstairs. They turned out so great! The rooms were so spacious and perfect for hair and makeup the morning of the wedding. I highly recommend The Alexander. Our out of town guests loved it!
