We had the most beautiful ceremony outside at the Market Street Circle courtyard. Not only was the backdrop of the fountain stunning, but the team (we worked directly with Margeaux) was helpful, flexible, and we were able to book several suites at the top of the beautiful indoor wrapping staircase for our group to get ready that morning. The pictures turned out gorgeous, and it was so fun to get married in the busy center of Charleston - so many people stopped to watch and celebrate with us - it was so fun. The hotel was great at working with our florist and our trolley vendor for transportation. They also did a great job at blocking all foot traffic from any potential disruption. Their team also catered my bridal brunch that morning as we got ready, and the food and service were both amazing. My husband and I also stayed there for our wedding night, and the hotel itself is absolutely stunning - historic, sophisticated, and beautiful. We had such a fun day and will forever keep these special memories and revisit this place with so much love.
Charleston Place hotel provided the perfect spot for a sophisticated and elegant reception for our daughter’s wedding reception. Geno Matesi oversaw all the people who made the evening a success. Dinner was delicious, wines and spirits perfectly coordinated. Flowers by Elizabeth Jones and Bloom Flowers we’re gorgeous. Attention to detail and to the bride and groom’s every wish were exceptional. I cannot speak more highly of our experience. And thank you to Geno for making our dreams come true!
If you host your wedding in Charleston, you MUST secure Belmond Charleston Place! My daughter's wedding was moved from May to July 12th due to Covid. The entire Belmond team could not have done more to support our entire family, bridal party and guests. We also hosted a farewell brunch in the fabulous Charleston Grill. The food and service was second to NONE! All staff were professional yet so very personable. Perfection at its BEST! Kudos to Geno, Sara, Alexandria, Margeaux, and Jeni for impeccable leadership and guiding their staff as they support their hotel guests in every possible way! Each of you contributed to making my daughter's weekend perfect in every way!!
The Belmond was absolutely gorgeous. The staff was great to work with. Megan was amazing as well. There were so many emails between the two of us, but everything was perfect! The only issue I had was that I wanted the ceremony outside at the Market Street Circle, but due to the possible weather (which there was none) it was moved inside. The Market Street Circle was what sold me for the venue. Lots of greenery and flowers, which would be perfect for pictures! It was a bit pricey, but it was worth the money. Food was delicious and the Palmetto Cafe (reception) was perfect! It was a great choice for a venue!
A beautiful and romantic hotel. We stayed here after our wedding. In the heart of Charleston and the service is great!
Wow! A huge thank you to the staff of Belmond Charleston Place! My wedding ceremony was originally outdoors, and two days before the wedding, the weather forecast forced me to change the venue. My groom and I were staying in the Belmond Charleston Place and we walked into the sales office to ask about indoor ceremony venues. We worked with Abi and in record time, the hotel had accommodated our ceremony! After the ceremony, we were so thankful for the bad weather! The ceremony was so much more beautiful and elegant inside the Belmond Charleston Place!
The rooms were so beautiful, the public spaces were elegant, and the entire staff is incredible! We will be coming back for many anniversaries! Thank you so much for not only saving our best day, but making it better than it was ever going to be before!
When we chose to have our wedding at Charleston Place Hotel we were planning a destination wedding, but by the time we had the wedding we had relocated to Charleston. Also, I work full time and attend law school at night which left little time for planning. As a destination or busy bride this choice made everything so easy; they have their own caterer, their own pastry chef and their own florist. Also by booking you have an event coordinator. Margeaux was our event planner and she was fabulous. If you can ask for her do so, she made all the difference in the world! She was my point person and took care of everything, literally, everything. On the wedding day we didn't have to lift a finger.
We had our wedding in the Market Street Circle and our reception in the Palmetto Cafe and Courtyard. It was gorgeous. The whole hotel is so beautiful they really have to do very little to make it look fabulous, but Bloom the in-house-florist made everything beautiful and the reception area looked so luxurious. They took my little descriptions and ran with them. Give them room to use their expertise, they are amazing.
When we arrived at the reception we met our banquet captain, Steve - he made sure my husband and I always had a full drink (they brought them to us, we never had to wait at the bar) and that the reception ran like clock work. The food was delicious. We had a variation of the Low Country Buffet. The cake was beautiful and so tasty. The pastry chef made us any flavor we wanted. Everyone loved the Hummingbird Cake, a Southern staple. The service was impeccable.
While this venue was a little more expensive than others we considered, the money spent goes a long way and was well worth it. If you select to use their florist, they will deduct the cost of venue fees from your florist bill essentially erasing one of those budget items. You have a built in wedding planner. On the night of your wedding you are given a complimentary stay in a suite, complete with chocolate covered strawberries and champagne. Knowing the bride and groom rarely get a chance to enjoy dinner (however the food is so good you must make time to enjoy) they allow you to pick items from their late night room service menu, ahead of time, and will have it delivered at any time after the wedding. We had so many friends and family coming from out of town we knew we would likely be out late into the night and as such they delivered our selections to our room at 2:30 a.m. IT WAS AWESOME.
I just can't say enough about how easy having the wedding at Charleston Place Hotel made everything. In selecting this venue it eliminated so many hassles of coordinating deliveries from vendors, hundreds of confirmations calls in the weeks before the weddings and having to worry about deliveries on the wedding day. I'm so happy we made this choice; it made our wedding everything we could have hoped for and more. So many people have told us it was the best wedding ever. Our guests had a fabulous time and were raving about everything! We had notes come in the mail the following week thanking us for having them as guests at our wedding. It really was the day of our dreams.
Amazing ambiance for pictures; beautiful long winding staircase with a magnificent chandelier to top it off. The rooms are gorgeous, staff helpful and food delicious.
The food was wonderful. To this day, I am still hearing people talk about how good the food was. The hotel and restaurant was beautiful. The hotel features a large staircase and fountains ideal for pictures. There is an outside cocktail area. The staff was extremely helpful and cordial. Overall, the atmosphere, the venue and the reception itself was perfect!;The only thing that might factor in people's decision is that due to the size & setup of the restaurant, the dance floor size is limited.
The location was big enough to hold up to 1000 people, there was a stage for the band to play, there was a dance floor big enough for everyone to dance, there were 20 tables for everyone to sit down, there was a beautiful area for the cocktail hour on the balcony that could hold up to 100 people with an inside area for the rest of the guests to sit down, there were several bathrooms available to the guests, and the food/service was outstanding!
