About this vendor
The Cincinnatian has been Cincinnati royalty since opening in 1882 as ‘The Palace Hotel’. Listed on the National register of Historic Places, The Cincinnatian blends French Second Empire style with modern amenities to create a unique and distinctly Cincinnati stay.
The Cincinnatian’s art and design pays homage to our city’s past, present and future. Upon entry, guests are greeted by the original Grand Staircase juxtaposed by sleek metal accents and local artwork. The Reception Desk is inspired by the glacial deposits of limestone from 1.8 million years ago that carved the Ohio Valley, and at Maverick's, Roebling Bridge is evoked through the décor while our menu recalls Cincinnati’s past as a brewery town.
Nestled in the heart Downtown Cincinnati, we are just steps away from all the excitement. Head over to Fountain Square, Aronoff Center for the Arts or indulge your sense of adventure at some of our tantalizing restaurants, museums, theaters and sports venues. We contacted this hotel about 8 months before our wedding to book our honeymoon suite for the night of. We were able to view the suite and book it. We gave our credit card info to make sure the room was ours and after reaching out to confirm a few times (the communication wasn't great) we were told exactly what room was ours on our special night. We were also told that the hotel would throw in some special amenities for us since the communication was so poor during the booking process.
When we arrived after a very long wedding day it was absolute chaos at the hotel. There was no valet to be found and nowhere to park to wait for one. We had to sit in the middle of the street while I kept running in and out of the hotel in my dress trying to find assistance. We finally got inside and got checked in and we were given a regular room overlooking a very loud street with absolutely no amenities whatsoever. When we came back down to the front desk we were told that the whirlpool suite that we were promised for our wedding night was not reserved correctly and that they had just put someone in that room and there were no other rooms available for us. We had to drive 45 minutes back to our house after being at the hotel for about an hour dealing with the mess. We were told the assistant manager would reach out to us to discuss the issue and make things right but after 10 days we still had not heard anything. We reached out to the coordinator that we made the reservations with and the assistant manager and all we received was an apology email from the coordinator and that they would call to discuss the issue and we still have not heard back from them.
Please do not waste your time. This hotel absolutely ruined what was supposed to be a special night to our wedding day and we will never get that night back again.
The Cincinnatian provided wonderful accommodations for our families prior to the event. I would highly recommend. They have beautiful rooms and the guest services staff for booking hotel blocks were extremely helpful.
We had 140 out of town guests and the Cincinnatian accommodated all of us. It's a small enough hotel that it felt like we took it over, such a fun way to spend the weekend. I felt like going with a bigger chain I would have received more benefit as the bride bringing in 70 rooms, we didn't see much from them on that side and only got a free wedding night's stay because we had a brunch there on Sunday morning. Overall, most rooms have been updated and for the rate and being in the city, you can't beat it.
