Marnie was amazing with helping us out after hurricane Helene messed up our original plan. We arrived on the wedding day to a completely decorated reception space which was BEAUTIFUL, ceremony chairs set up. I’m so grateful for her help and hard work!! 100% recommend the cooper house for your events.
Marnie & Lauri are phenomenal coordinators. Hair, make up, food, decor - they handled everything for our destination wedding (we're from Michigan) The decor, food, & venue were perfection. There are spacious areas for the bridal parties to prepare. The grounds are beautiful - multiple areas for photos. Every detail was taken care of with meticulous care. If you're lucky you'll get to see & pet Cooper the resident tabby cat! Highly recommend 10 out of 10 experience.
This venue is so perfectly decorated and it is exactly what my wedding vision called for! The reception was so beautifully rustic and I could not have imagined it looking better! It is a small, intimate venue, but there is entertaining space in and out. The bar area and buffet were set up quite efficiently. I plan to have even more events at this location!
I am so glad that I chose to have my wedding at the Cooper House! It is such a beautiful venue and Marnie Kennedy made sure planning was as seamless as possible; which was a blessing since we had to postpone due to covid. There are so many special things about this venue that make it one of a kind from the beautiful oak trees, to the general store, and new deck area outside. The Cooper House offered everything we were looking for in one convenient space. We loved working with Marnie and we love The Coop!
Oh my goodness. Where do I even start??? This is going to be a long review because it's very, very much deserved. I went to Marnie Kennedy in Sept...and told her I wanted a fall 2019 wedding. I explained to her that my now husband and I were coming from out of state and were likely to deploy next year, hence the short time frame. Marnie immediately said, "not a problem...let's do this!" and thus our awesome journey with The Cooper House and Leave It to Marnie began....
The Cooper House Venue: absolutely breathtaking. We knew it was "the one" just by looking at pictures. I actually got goosebumps when I visited it in person. Our ceremony was outside under a huge willow tree. The cocktail hour was inside the general store and in the courtyard and dinner was inside the general store. If you're looking for rustic, charming, warm and just overall beautiful, this is the venue for you. The general store is perfectly set up and all of the wooden shelves are filled with beautiful items that Marnie has collected over the years. Absolutely adorable. Since we were going for a rustic, fall wedding, this venue was quite literally out of dream.
The food: OMG the food. Ralph does the catering and he's amazing. I had several wedding guests tell me afterwards that this was the best wedding food they EVER had. Wedding food is tough--especially when you want to make sure your guest are fed good food---but it's a breeze at the Coop. Ralph whipped up some of our favorites, including chicken parmesan and beef brisket, and they were to die for. Even as leftovers, still mouth watering!
Working with Marnie's recommended vendors: We opted to not only have our wedding at the Coop, but we also had Marnie serve as our wedding planner/coordinator. With Marnie came a list of recommended vendors--flowers, hair, photography, cake, etc...and we were so happy with all of them. The great thing about working with someone that has great connections is that you get to benefit from them as well. Even when we weren't 100% sold on someone, Marnie gave another 3-4 recommendations. As an out of state bride planning a wedding in 2 months, this was a saving grace....not to mention they were awesome at what they did.
Working with Marnie: The BEST part of this whole experience was Marnie herself. The woman must be secretly a superhero because she never stops. I gave her an idea of what I wanted the venue to look like (decor wise) and I was literally blown away. Beautiful doesn't even begin to describe how amazing the venue looked. Marnie pours her heart into EVERYTHING she does and it shows in her work. She handles all of our concerns and does everything from setting up to making sure the day runs smoothly to safety pinning our best man's pants that ripped down his booty! It was such an incredible experience working with Marnie and I would recommend it to every person I meet. Most brides are stressed on their day. Not me--despite how type A I am--haha. I was as cool as a cucumber. I ate, danced and drank my heart out on my big day because I knew we were in great hands. Honestly, it was the most fun wedding I've ever attended (and not just because it was my own, LOL).
To sum up my long review: The Coop is amazing! Ralph's food is incredible and YOU MUST #LeaveItToMarnie if you want your day to be perfect. Thank you, Marnie, Ralph, and the Coop family for making our wedding the most fun, beautiful, stress free and epic day we could ever ask for! <3 <3 <3
From the food to the service everything was beyond perfect! Marnie was our wedding planner and did an AMAZING job decorating and calming my nerves. The food was catered from the Coop as well and everyone was talking about it. A beautiful venue to make any couple the happiest on their special day!
We had a wonderful event at the Cooper House last week. It is a charming little venue on the outskirts of Myrtle Beach, in Socastee. We had our son's rehearsal dinner at the General Store, next to the Cooper House, and it was fabulous! Marnie was very responsive, and got back to us very quickly when we had questions. And she was happy to meet with us, multiple times, to familiarize us with the venue and their various amenities. We had our rehearsal dinner catered by their restaurant, The Porch, next door, and the food was delicious. I can highly recommend The Cooper House for all of your wedding planning and catering needs!
This place made my dream come true! Marnie made the day and everything before had a breeze. I seriously couldn’t have asked for a better day. It was perfect.
Marnie was very professional. She was helpful with us choosing our menu and was very punctual each time we met with her. The food was also delicious. The reception site was already beautifully decorated so we didn’t have to add too many other decorations to it. I would recommend The Cooper House for anyone looking for a reception site in the Myrtle beach area.
This place is amazing and amazing staff!!!!!
I loved The Cooper House for our wedding. It had rustic feel we were looking for and the people who worked there were wonderful. They also catered our dinner and it was so good. I would definitely recommend this venue! It was awesome and my special day was the best day ever!!
We used the gardens for the ceremony and the general store for the reception. It turned out beautiful. You have to expect the swing bridge to turn and not mind the beeping of the alarm though.
we were able to decorate the day before but had to remove everything right after the wedding ended which wasnt fun.
Rita and her team were extremely helpful. The food we had catered in house was good.
