The George

We cannot sing the praises of the George staff and services enough for the wedding Room Block and Reception for our daughter and her now, husband. The level of service was exceptional. We held a style wedding and had family and friends traveling to College Station from all over the country. We rented the Presidential Suite which provided a wonderful setting to entertain our friends and family in between the various wedding activities. The desk staff and management were very accommodating of every little request our friends and family had during their stay. The reception exceeded our expectations (we held the wedding itself at a local church nearby). They had both sides of the ballroom setup and decorated well. They supplemented the decorations that we had provided by our florist with decorations of the hotel. They also set up the outdoor spaces, which allowed several of our guests to enjoy the lovely evening. The bartenders and servers were all friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent. We had a mash potato and mac and cheese bar, which were a big hit. We also had several appetizers during the cocktail hour. Our guests particularly raved about the beer battered shrimp, tempura asparagus spears, bacon wrapped sea scallops, and pork potstickers. All three sit-down dinner options were of high quality. Also, the hot chocolate bar served later in the evening was a huge hit. Our guests appreciated the fact that the reception was in the same hotel as they were staying. This way they were able to partake of the open bar without worrying about drinking and driving. Also, they could come and go as they wanted. If you are looking for a wedding reception venue in College Station, we highly recommend you consider the George, and strongly suggest you combine it with your room block.
