The Gish Barn

The most beautiful venue along with the best coordinators made for the day of our dreams! We had to reschedule our wedding 3 times due to covid and everyone at Gish was so accommodating and the best to work with! We had more than one "day of meetings", along with a day to pick out decor that they include for you to use! Ashleigh was our coordinator through most of our planning and she knows what she is doing! She was on top of everything, was there all morning to set up and host before the wedding meetings, help with the other vendors set up, and just have everything run smoothly. Everyone needs to get married at Gish! The local vendors that they recommend were also phenomenal. You will not be disappointed.

They did everything they could to make sure my day was wonderful. Nathan took care of all the details. Making sure I was well informed and up-to-date. They responded to all my questions. They have a beautiful venue and made sure my guests were comfortable. They had heaters going and made sure that the propane was replaced. I didn’t have to worry about anything.

We picked the Gish Barn for our wedding due to the incredibly romantic feel of the fairy lights that hang inside the barn. The barn and grounds were beautiful and everything we imagined. Everything needs to be rented and brought in with the exception of round tables, royal blue table cloths, and decorations. You can also use their chair but they take away from the romantic feel so we rented them. Nathan was easy to work with in setting up and made sure everything was perfect. Only downfall and reason that it’s not a 5 star is the alcohol. You are limited to serving alcohol to only 4 hours and must pick from a very short list of vendors. Everything worked out just fine but we would have loved to serve champagne during our toasts, etc - we didn’t because we stopped alcohol during our dinner to allow for more reception time. Our wedding was at the end of May and it definitely was hot and rained. But we rented large fans and the rain cooled everything down. Overall, it was beautiful!

We booked the Gish Barn about 16 months before my daughter's October 2018 wedding. Even then it there were not that many days available, so book this place early! There are many things included in the rental - ceremony site including chairs, reception site with tables and chairs, tablecloths (navy/royal blue - available first come-first served for the weekend!), and lots of decorations you are free to borrow! They also give you great "suggested" vendors, but you aren't stuck with using them. We were able to attend their May Gala, which showed table setup, vendors and samples, etc. Great to see and get a feel for things. The only downside was something they couldn't control - the weather! The week before the wedding it was 80 degrees...our weekend started out a cool - no cold! - 39 degrees. It did warm up to the low 50's mid day, but got cooler as the day went. Gish did supply deck heaters (You just need to pay for the propane), but unfortunately these didn't heat up the barn too much. It was fine if you were able to stand close to the heater, or if you were up dancing :-) Over all, this is a beautiful venue with romantic lighting, rustic yet comfortable (great indoor restrooms!) and Nathan was great to work with! There were improvements to the the venue from the time we booked (June 2017) to the time of the wedding. They added a beautiful stone pathway leading down as an aisle for the ceremony, and they seem to be improving little details all the time. Check this place out!!

My husband and I had our wedding at the Gish Barn last Saturday 09/22/2018. It was everything we dreamed our wedding would look and feel like! The Gish Barn helped us to create our dream wedding, a laid back yet semi-formal boho vintage wedding! Our guests were amazed by the beauty of the barn and the property surrounding it. I can't even begin to tell how many compliments we received for selecting such a beautiful and unique venu. We didn't have to worry about over decorating as the barn is beautiful in itself and the lighting was absolutely amazing!! Nathan was really great to work with and uber flexible with any requests we had! We worked with many of their prefered vendors which made the planning very easy as well. Our cater was new for the Gish Barn but Nathan was able to work with them and ensure everything would run smoothly! The day of everything was set up exactly how we imagined, it was perfect! Nathan kept all of our guests comfortable as it was a little chilly and we had to use the large heaters, which blended in wonderfully into the background. There was a bonfire lit which accommodated our smoking guests and provided a great gathering place for the fire seekers! We highly recommend the Gish Barn and hope to attend a wedding there someday!!

Gish was absolutely beautiful! Nathan did an amazing job! The parking staff and night staff were awesome. Everything was ready as soon as we walked in! It was extremely Hot however we rented a tent outside and danced in the barn door way! It worked out perfect. I would suggest the fan rentals (BIG FANS). The ceremony was held outside! It was perfect! We has a 4:00 wedding and the sun is directly on you so pleas provide fans or water if you have a summer wedding. I imagine it will be perfect in October! The guys got ready downstairs and took some AWESOME photos! This is such a gorgeous, rustic venue with a great staff! We used almost every vendor on his suggestion list and I could not be happier! We had our wedding and reception here this past Saturday, September 16th, and it was PERFECT. They have so much decor for you to use and an amazing vendor list that we were really happy with. The barn is decorated so beautifully. It was a little warm at first, but ended up being perfect temperature...and we had to close one set of doors during sun set, but that was expected and nothing the barn could help, just a heads up. They did have heaters if we wanted to use them, not sure if thats all the time or not though. This is the only venue my husband and I toured, and we knew instantly it was the one.. we put a deposit down then and there. All of our guests loved the venue, and it made our wedding dreams and Pinterest goals come true. I wish I could keep reliving our wedding day, and the Gish Barn helped make it amazing! I couldn't be more happy that we decided to spend the most memorable day of our lives at The Gish Barn! Denise and Nathan made the day go off without a hitch. They were so helpful, creative and willing to do whatever they could to make our day perfect. I knew they genuinely cared about making our day so special which was evident by the amount of time they spent with us and the constant smiles on their faces. I loved having my wedding at The Gish Barn!! Denise was wonderful and if I had any questions along the way I could contact her knowing I would hear back very quickly. Wedding planning can be overwhelming but with her experience she makes it simple. I wouldn't change a thing about my wedding day!!

I highly recommend you DO NOT have your wedding at The Gish Barn. Denise is a very difficult woman to work with and she will keep your $1000 security deposit like she did mine. She tells you that you can serve alcohol for 4 hrs but then at your six week appt she informs you that you have to have last call 1 hr before the wedding ends which actually give you 3 hrs to serve alcohol. If you have any guests that smoke you are in trouble!!! She expects your guests to go to their cars and smoke and if 1 of your guests smokes on the property you can say goodbye to your security deposit. She even passes out little pieces of paper to your guests while parking them that says you should lock your cars What a way to greet your guests!!! I'm very conflicted with this review because I really wanted to love the barn. The barn is gorgeous and my wedding was just beautiful but it couldn't have been any more stressful. Denise the owner of the barn only cares about your money and as soon as she gets it she will throw random rules and things at you that you didn't even know existed. Talk about unwanted stress, your sure to find it by booking at the Gish Barn. We were informed alcohol had to be stop being served during dinner, and we couldn't even serve beer bottles only 3 weeks before our wedding. Alcohol can only be served for 3 hours and you are not allowed to serve shots. They want you to be done with your wedding at 9:00. We had to fight for a later time and had to pay yet more money. You also are required to only use two special vendors of hers to serve alcohol both of which cost you a pretty penny and are unaware of a lot of her rules which causes even more stress. If ANY of your guest smoke cigarettes you should just find a better venue. She actually kept our 1,000 security deposit because our guests (which we can't control) smoked on her property. Although we made notes to hand out as they arrived that told them they had to smoke in their cars, if we didn't she would have handed out these notes that tell them to lock their car doors and not to smoke on her property.. As if that's the first thing you want your guests to see as they arrive at your wedding! No electronic cigarettes either. We also were informed that all of our trash needed to be removed at the end of the night which wasn't even in our contract and we had to pay our caterer over 200 dollars to take it at the end of the night or she would have ended our wedding at 9:00. For paying a small fortune to be on her property in the first place she just treats you like another dollar. You don't get a rehearsal dinner, if your lucky she will inform you not even a month before your wedding that you can schedule a 30 minute time slot to rehearse and leave. I asked them to close the doors during ceremony and open them as soon as it was over and I had to actually get out of my ceremony and find them to open them up again. The only real time of hers you get is at your 6 week appointment which she scheduled two other showings during and actually made me feel awkward so we left before everything was gone over. The barn was very hot even on August 26th and the light was shining in everyone's eyes during dinner until I had to have my bridesmaids close them in the middle of speeches because my guests looked miserable. If they were half as concerned with the people smoking as they were with my guests it wouldn't have been a problem! There was supposed to be a bonfire all night and yet the fire was not lite at all the whole entire evening. She's simply a very unreasonable woman and I would not recommend this venue to anyone who wants to have a wedding planning experience with unneeded stress. My daughter got married at the Gish Barn. It was a DELIGHTFUL venue! Warm and rustic, but with amenities and a helpful staff. I would highly recommend it as an authentic vintage venue!

I cannot say enough good things about the barn and about Denise (the owner). I felt that she was so easy to work with and was willing to help with any questions to ideas that we had. She was so supportive and accommodating through the whole process which made everything run so smoothly. The barn is simply gorgeous and is the perfect venue for those looking for a rustic feel for their special day. The landscape is beautiful with multiple areas for an outdoor ceremony if desired. They also have a booklet of items available to rent for decor if interested. I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a beautiful barn wedding.
