The Granary

20/10 would recommend The Granary to any and all Virginia brides! Our experience working with Sidney, Bev, Carol, and the rest of the Granary team was top notch. From the minute we toured the venue (the day after a heavy snowstorm -- and they still made sure we could meet, since we were coming from out of town!) until we said goodbyes after our wedding, I was fully supported with responsive emails, phone calls, thorough answers to many random questions, and all done with a genuine smiley face and plenty of exclamation points. This team's kindness and professionalism takes this venue above and beyond! The venue space itself is the perfect balance of scenic outdoors that is beautiful in every season and a clean and "rustic chic" indoors with the perfect transition space on the lovely finished patio with a stone fireplace and the covered portico above. The floor to ceiling windows keep the space light and bright, with elements that help take the outdoors in, with stone walls, a beautiful wooden farm table, and stylish wooden cross back chairs. The bar space is the perfect size, also with large windows, and both the groomsmen and bridal suites are comfortable, bright, and the ideal rooms to get ready with your crew in. Lastly, one of the main reasons I chose The Granary for our venue is that, in the event of inclement weather, I liked the indoor space so much that I would be okay with having to move our outdoor ceremony inside. Aaand...cue Hurricane Ian, the weekend of October 1 2022...Although I had to change my vision of my big day, I honestly couldn't have been happier with how our inside ceremony went. My guests were still able to sit along the aisle, we had candles lit and flowers set on some of our reception tables, and the whole ceremony felt much more intimate and special than I could have anticipated. Everyone at The Granary helped make my dream day a reality, despite the hurricane, and it was so meaningful to have their support! Overall, this is such a unique place in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley -- so if you want something different, but that you can still make your own, definitely consider The Granary! We can't thank them enough for an incredible experience, and we can't wait to come back to visit to enjoy everything else that the Valley Pike Market offers! 🙂

What's obvious about the Granary is that it's a beautiful wedding venue for an affordable price, which is exactly why my husband and I booked it for our wedding in May 2022. What isn't obvious is how absolutely amazing Sidney and her team is, which we found out throughout our year of wedding planning. Sidney's support, advice, and guidance that year was on par with what a hired wedding planner would do for you (which was NOT her role!); I'm not exaggerating to say that I can't imagine what I would have done without her. She never went longer than 24 hours to respond to an email, with her usual response time that very same hour. On the day of my wedding, I was cool as a cucumber because I was so confident in the event staff. Giving the bride and groom that sense of peace is perhaps the greatest thing a wedding venue/event team can offer! I was consistently impressed with the team's kindness, genuine care and thoughtfulness for me, professionalism, and competence. In regards to the physical space of the venue itself, it had everything I was looking for--an outdoor ceremony space with scenic views (and a large patio perfect for cocktail hour), an indoor air conditioned reception space (that can also become a GREAT alternative if you need a rain plan for your ceremony), and bridal suites. You have all day access to the venue which is hard to find! There's also ample parking for guests, a full bar inside, and chairs/tables/lighting/draping/signs/furniture are included when you book the venue. The last thing I'll mention is that the Granary allowed us a lot of flexibility in terms of our vendor team and our other rentals. There's no required list of vendors you have to use, which really allows you to make the day your own (as well as stay in your budget!). Our wedding was even better than we had imagined, and we couldn't recommend the Granary more highly!

We couldn't be happier with our choice to have our wedding at The Granary! From the very beginning, Sidney and the team at The Granary were nothing but welcoming, caring, and professional. My wife and I had lots of questions throughout the planning process, and no matter how big or small the questions were, Sidney always answered quickly and graciously. The venue itself was absolutely beautiful. The landscape provided an incredible background for photos, and the indoor space was elegant and charming. The lights and white hanging tapestries that are already installed looked incredible and made decorating extremely easy. Additionally, we loved how there were both bride and groom suites in the upper level of The Granary and that there was a separate entrance/exit that we could use! On the day of the wedding the entire team at The Granary made our life a breeze and had everything running like a well-oiled machine - we can't say enough good things about them! We highly recommend having your wedding at The Granary! We couldn't have asked for a better wedding day!

The Granary was the one and only venue we toured when planning for our wedding. We knew we didn’t need to look anywhere else as soon as we walked in. This venue is so unique as it comes with the beautiful draping, bistro lighting, and amazing chairs. On top of the venue itself being stunning, Sidney is absolutely incredible. I don’t have enough words to express how amazing she is. I, like every other bride, always had a million questions and she would answer almost instantly. She was so kind and helpful through the entire planning process. Carol who was there for our actual wedding day was SO great! I didn’t have to worry about a single thing with her and my coordinator working together. She really went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. Overall, you will not find a better venue with the kindest team.

We couldn't be happier with our choice of The Granary for our wedding venue for our June 2022 wedding! The ceremony site was perfect- our guests were comfortable in the shadow of the tree which also provided a gorgeous background for pictures. I especially appreciated the indoor-outdoor space for cocktail hour and the reception. We had perfect weather for our wedding day and it was nice for our guests to have different areas to spend time during the day. And Sidney was so great to work with! She was quick to respond to any email question and helped everything flow so smoothly! Many of our guests commented on how cool of a venue we found!

There are not enough words to describe the perfect experience I had with having The Granary as my wedding venue! From my initial inquiry to even after my wedding day, everything went perfectly. The venue itself is absolutely stunning. The outdoor ceremony spaces and the inside reception area are GORGEOUS. It was exactly what I was looking for--a space that is absolutely stunning all on its own, but versatile enough that you could add in your special touches and make it your own!! My now husband is a man of few words, so when even HE said that this venue was stunning, I knew this was the one for us! The team that we worked with at The Granary is what makes this place truly unbeatable. Sidney was absolutely AMAZING. There was no question that went unanswered (and there were many, many questions) and the kindness that went into every message was incredibly appreciated. The timeliness in all of our communications was absolutely outstanding and put me at ease that I knew I was working with such a dedicated team! Carol was also amazing in making sure our wedding day went off without a hitch!! Everything was absolutely perfect with her. You cannot go wrong with this team! I could go on forever about how amazing this venue is, but if you are in need of a wedding venue in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley area this is the one!!!! I truly can't thank them enough for helping me have the wedding of my dreams!!

My husband and I are traveling healthcare professionals. We were working on the West Coast while planning our wedding at The Granary. We cannot thank Sidney, Bev, and the entire staff enough for helping us plan our special day from across the country. They were so flexible with their time and didn’t hesitate to have early morning phone calls and weekend FaceTimes to help navigate every detail. We cannot stress how gracious and kind everyone we encountered was to bring our vision to life. I’m originally from the Pittsburgh area, so a cookie table is a staple of weddings. Bev was familiar with this tradition and very helpful in offering ideas on best placement for the cookies to be set up without hindering the flow of people. We also used a florist from out of state and the staff was so accommodating and gracious with allowing our florist come tour the venue to ensure our vision for a romantic day was achieved. The on-site accommodations for getting ready were absolutely beautiful. The bridal suite and groom suite were the perfect backdrop for getting ready photos. Our niece was 7 months old at the time and the bridal suite offered the perfect hideaway for nap time and feedings. Bev was so helpful in making sure our day went smoothly. She was always one step ahead of our needs, allowing for a stress free day! The venue itself is stunning. It’s a perfect blend of modern chic and farmhouse feel. The juxtaposition of polished cement floors with exposed beams and stone walls creates the perfect ambience for photos. The Edison lights offer an added dimension to the decor as well as the fireplace allowing for a cozy feel while celebrating with loved ones. The Granary fully captures the pure love and genuine happiness that one hopes to have on their wedding day.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Sidney, Bev, and the team at The Granary. I always got responses to emails within minutes of sending. They were flexible without walk-through timing. They are super detail-oriented, reassuring, and knowledgeable about every little thing a bride could worry about. The architectural design of the event space (polished cement floors, exposed beams, huge windows, refinished barn doors, chiffon draped pillars) makes for amazing ambience and photos. We had planned a 150 guest wedding and had to downsize to 50 guests at the last minute due to COVID. I was afraid the space would feel too big for an intimate gathering, but Sidney helped us decide on a layout that would accommodate a smaller gathering and still feel warm. The space is incredibly versatile. The bar makes for an upscale feel and the cross-back chairs and farm tables are a HUGE bonus because you don't have to coordinate with a rental company. The bride and groom suites are gorgeous and were such a beautiful space to get ready in. We got married under the huge tree in the field, which was beautiful in the fall! Above and beyond the beautiful grounds, the staff is INCREDIBLE. We had a last minute snafu with our caterer and Bev and Sidney smoothed things over like pros. THANK YOU to The Granary for an amazing day! We will never forget your kindness and professionalism.

When my husband and I first got engaged, there was wild debate (particularly from the family peanut gallery) about where we should get married. We live in northern Virginia and the vast majority of our local venues are country clubs. Although they can be beautiful, they simply were not what we were looking for because they didn't feel like "us". When we were browsing venues online, we came across The Granary. We hadn't heard of it and it was about an hour and a half away from us. Not only were the pictures so gorgeous, but the response we received from Sydney was so kind and made us so intrigued, we said screw it, let's take a trip after work and check it out. Instantly upon seeing the venue we were in love. It was everything we wanted but feared we wouldn't find. Classy, rustic, chic: perfect. You could have an event there with just the bones of the space and it would be absolutely gorgeous. The reception area is spacious with gorgeous light and decor, the restrooms are clean and appropriately sized for larger events, the taproom is huge and makes you feel like you're in a lodge in Vail, the bridal and groom suites are the perfect places to get ready for your big day, and the patio/portico is huge and perfect for a cocktail hour. To top it all off, their staff are amazing. We had the pleasure of working with both Sydney and Bev and they are truly amazing at what they do. They care deeply about their role in your big day and it shows in the way they help you. They were accommodating, compassionate, and positive with everything I threw their way (which turned out to be a long messy list inspired by the pandemic). When my bridesmaids saw the venue in person for the first time, they all said "this is so you and Tyler". This venue is beyond gorgeous and all the people that come with it are simply wonderful. We cannot wait to get all our film and photos back to share how beautiful their venue was for our big day. This place is just amazing!!!

We hosted both our ceremony and our reception at The Granary in the Spring of 2021. Everything about our wedding day was absolutely perfect, and it wouldn't have all been possible without the wonderful team at The Granary. We were planning our wedding during the pandemic, which was stressful as it was, but Sidney and Bev helped make sure everything was perfect for our big day. They helped us schedule an initial walkthrough and a final walkthrough before the wedding, which was extremely helpful when trying to visualize all of our plans. We had a beautiful ceremony at one of the outdoor ceremony sites, and the beautiful view in the Shenandoah Valley made it even more magical. Not to mention, one of the best features of this venue was the Taproom and patio space that was available to our guests during cocktail hour! Honestly, we could not have imagined our wedding being any more perfect. We are so thankful that the team at The Granary worked with us endlessly to ensure our wedding day was everything we could have imagined!

We absolutely loved getting married at the Granary!! The venue was beautiful, the weather was perfect, and we (and our guests) had a great time. Working with Sidney was fantastic in the weeks leading up to the wedding, and she was flexible and easy to work with when we had to postpone our wedding in 2020. Bev was absolutely on top of EVERYTHING at both our walk through and the wedding. She's a shining star and you're in great hands with her! Getting married at the Granary was one of our best decisions and truly made our wedding memorable.

Dream Venue. Dream Team. Dream Wedding Day. The Granary was the last venue we toured in our search during Spring 2019. We were immediately sold as soon as we pulled up to the gorgeous market and its valley view. But what really sealed the deal was Sidney, Bev and Team. Working with them through our engagement bliss and as the world turned upside down during COVID-19, we couldn't have asked for a better venue experience. Once we realized our Spring 2020 wedding wasn't possible, they quickly worked to find another date to host our families and friends, complementary and no extra hidden fees. During our extra year of planning, Sidney was readily available to answer any questions and talk through ideas with. The team at The Granary goes above and beyond to make sure your special day is everything you envisioned and more! We are incredibly blessed to have found The Granary and will recommend them over and over again. We can't wait to come back to visit the market and reminisce on our dream wedding day we held here. 💗

We absolutely loved having our wedding at The Granary! It is such a beautiful venue, and strikes a great balance between classy and comfortable. The outdoor ceremony site captures the beauty of the Shenandoah Valley and the indoor Taproom and Reception Hall are gorgeous! Sidney and Bev couldn’t have been more helpful through our wedding planning process, especially during 2020. They were accommodating, kind, and quick to respond, which goes a long way during a stressful time! They ensured that we had a great wedding day, and if there were any hiccups, we never knew about them! We have a feeling this venue is only going to keep growing in popularity in the area, so hurry up and book with them!

The Granary is the most amazing, beautiful venue! This was close to our family and was the perfect location to get married at. We had our ceremony in the field, and over looking the farm in the fall was beautiful! It was the perfect weather, I could not ask for anything more! The staff is really sweet and helpful. They answered any questions I had really quick and very helpful the day of the wedding. They turned on the fireplace later that evening and it was beautiful for taking pictures at! It was the perfect fall day. I cannot ask for a better venue to get married at. Our day was perfect and 10/10 recommend this to any couple looking for a wedding venue!

I loved working with The Granary! I was married on 9/6/20 but actually knew months before I was engaged that I wanted to get married at this venue. It is so beautiful! I wanted a venue that had some rolling hills, was beautiful inside so I didn't have to bring many decorations, and had inside and outside options. The Granary was absolutely perfect. They were amazing to work with during the entire process and made everything so easy!

My wedding reception was at the Granary, and it was perfect in every way! The team was wonderful to work with and went the extra mile to make sure it was seamless. I would 10/10 recommend this venue to anyone for their wedding day!

From our first visit, to our wedding day the Granary's event staff was so responsive and helpful. The space was exactly what I wanted for my wedding reception and my guests had such a great time. Even though I was planning the wedding from 2 hours away, Nicole and Sidney made it so easy by answering all of my questions and they even made themselves available for an additional meeting to discuss logistics. They provided all of our tables and beautiful cross-back chairs, saving us so much money on rentals! The bridal suite was perfect for getting ready; very classy, bright and spacious - made for beautiful photos! I also want to add, that even though the Granary is attached to a market that is open to the public during the day, I never noticed any other people. The Granary staff did an excellent job keeping my event private. Our wedding day was also very rainy, but I would not change it. The staff made sure everything went smoothly, despite the weather -- I honestly didn't have to worry about a thing. I can not recommend working with this venue and this staff more highly. It was a perfect rainy & romantic day that I wish I could live over & over. Their team made my vision a reality on my wedding day and I could not be more grateful for all of their hard work.

I cannot stop thinking about our wedding we had June 1st. We had a beautiful ceremony out by the large tree, cocktail hour on the patio, and reception inside. I can’t thank the Granary, Nicole, enough for all the hard work and support. I, the bride, hired a musician as a surprise to the groom. Nicole helped keep it a secret and hide the groomsmen the day of to keep it a surprise. He set up right by the fireplace on the patio, which made for a perfect stage during cocktail hour. The venue space and outdoors is very spacious and beautiful. It was truly a perfect day! Another perk ladies.... there is a coffee shop in the market! Perfect when getting ready early in the morning

We could not have selected a better venue for our wedding! What's not to love about The Granary?! The staff is incredibly responsive, caring, flexible, and hardworking--shout out to Nicole and Sidney! The venue includes use of a beautiful pastoral landscape with rolling hills, which was perfect for our wedding ceremony, a patio area that's great for a cocktail hour, a dreamy reception space, and picture-perfect bridal and grooms suites. The venue can fit any style, no matter whether it's rustic or more modern and playful like ours. I plan events for a living and The Granary was the best and easiest venue I've ever worked with! Hands down, I would recommend The Granary to all couples wanting to make their special day one to remember! I know we'll remember our wedding day there!

We had such a great experience working the Granary at Valley Pike. We had to switch our reception location to this venue 3 DAYS before our wedding due to a hurricane - and the staff couldn't have made it easier on us. They handled a complicated situation beautifully and I absolutely loved the setting. It turned out even better than I think the original wedding location would have! The design of the Granary is elegantly rustic and the bridal suite is so cute and unique! Our guests had an amazing time (and so did we!). I would highly recommend this venue.

Beautiful and convenient venue. The barn has a rustic and authentic feel while having accommodating feature such as smooth floors, restrooms, and air conditioning. The location is easy to access from the highway, and there is plenty of parking for guests. With the help of our wedding planner/day of coordinator, The Granary did a beautiful job handling a last minute rain storm right during the time of our ceremony. Our ceremony inside the venue was just as, if not more, beautiful than if it were outside like we had originally planned. The staff was available to help with every question and concern we had. I cannot recommend this venue enough!

Cannot recommend this venue enough! I looked at quite a few places in the Harrisonburg and surrounding area and this one was by far the most stunning, flexible and accommodating. (It is also pleasantly affordable, especially for the quality of the venue, what was included and the amazing people that work with you). The space is so versatile with both outdoor and indoor options, thus you always have a climate controlled environment should weather not cooperate. Another huge bonus is that you don't need much decor because the space is so beautiful that a little goes a long way. In fact, I didn't even use a florist (just saw flowers from Kroger) and no one even noticed. You can completely customize the bar menu and even put beer and cider on tap which is amazing because it tastes way better and it's so much more cost effective. And you can also chose your own food vendor or use the food trucks they have there. Seriously so flexible and accommodating for all types of budgets. I also have to mention the bridal and groom suites because they were absolutely amazing to use and I'm convinced they were decorated by Chip and JoJo themselves. The hair and make up stylist could not get over the amazing natural light in the bridal suite which made for awesome make up lighting and some amazing pictures. And finally, the ladies that work with you are the BEST. Heck, everyone that we encountered there was awesome, but Nicole and Sidney were so helpful. They are super knowledgeable, have great experience and genuinely care about your wedding day and what you want. My husband and I couldn't be happier with our wedding here and would do it again in a heartbeat. So many of our guests commented that the space was amazing and it was the smoothest wedding they had been to. And no doubt because this place and the people are awesome.

Not only was space beautiful, but the staff was incredible and flexible too! They were available every step through the planning process and were incredibly accommodating on the day of the wedding. We still have family and friends talk about what a great time they had and what a beautiful space it was even 6 months later! I recommend The Granary to newly engaged couples every chance I get!

I wanted a very glamorous feel but in a rustic setting for my wedding. The Granary at Valley Pike was the perfect venue and the team was wonderful to work with. Sidney was so responsive and patient with me and my thousands of emails :). They were flexible with helping me to create the Great Gatsby inspired theme that I wanted. They made sure our guests were greeted with trays of champagne, allowed us to add a large heated tent space on the patio for games and appetizers, and we made use of the stunning bridal suite and adjacent rolling hills for some incredible bride and groom wedding photos. We hosted a guest list that was mostly New Yorkers and they are still raving months later about our wedding! I highly recommend The Granary and their team!

Working with Sidney and Nicole at the Granary made our whole planning process so seamless and stress free. Every email and question was answered quickly. All the experience they have truly shown through with their recommendations and ideas on what was needed to ensure a great event. The day of management was great! If there were any issues I still am not aware of them! Nicole made sure everything was where it needed to be and we had everything we needed as well. We are so happy with the flexibility and management of the Granary and couldn’t be more pleased to have picked them for our reception venue!

Let me start by saying that this review is as unbiased as I can possibly be (and it's a post, because I can't review a page I manage on Facebook). Having helped design and construct both the space and the business brand, I can assure you that I never thought I'd have my wedding here because I spend so much time working with the Granary as it is, and I wanted something different than my workplace. When my wedding venue flooded on the day of my wedding, we moved the reception to the Granary and it could not have been more perfect. The entire staff-- the bartenders, the Operations Managers and their spouses (!!), the Director of Events and her family (!!) AND friends-- jumped in early in the morning to completely move the wedding to the Granary in the pouring rain. The space is such a neutral canvas that we were able to transform seamlessly, and the service and selflessness of the staff is something that I will never be able to adequately thank them for. If you want a venue with a team that genuinely wants your day to be flawless for you, then this is the place for your wedding. Hands down one of the greatest experiences that I've had, as both a wedding professional and a bride.

We hosted our wedding reception here and it was absolutely perfect! The staff was wonderful to work with - they wanted to make sure we had every detail how we wanted it and they were very flexible and accommodating to meet our needs and wants out of the venue! The bar is fantastic! It is such a beautifully made, rustic setting and all of our guests had so many wonderful compliments. The outdoor patio with working fireplace was a huge plus as we were so lucky to have our dancing and cocktail hour outside! Beautiful venue and gorgeous setting! We couldn't have been happier.
