I had my reception here. The staff was great throughout the planning process and all of my guests had a great time! Many guests stayed in the hotel as well and enjoyed their stay. This venue suited my needs perfectly!
There is no better feeling than knowing that your guests will wake up, get ready, attend a ceremony, have the best party, and go to sleep (maybe) in all one location. I searched for months for the perfect venue - ultimately realizing that a venue that is all inclusive for my guests (mostly out of town) makes the most sense. Although The Heldrich doesn't have what other wedding venues typically have in-house (chivari chairs) that is the only thing that this venue could use - - but guess what - - SO easy for the hotel coordinator to order the chairs from their vendor. So easy. I also chose to rent Christopher's restaurant for my ceremony - best decision ever - with $400 pipe and draping to cover the exposed kitchen, a Jewish ceremony couldn't have been more perfect for a wedding of 200 guests. Now, listen up - - we all say that food and entertainment is the most important thing to a wedding, right?! Well, become this hotel has an executive chef for the attached restaurant, that chef cooks the food for the wedding - the tasting, inclusive of booking a wedding, was hands down, the best filet mignon, stuffed chicken and salmon we ever tasted. Consider the perks: amazing executive suites, on-site ceremony and reception ballroom, after party in the hotel bar, downtown New Brunswick vibes, STATE theatre across the street (great photo ops) - check this place out!!!
We could not have been more pleased with our wedding at The Heldrich in April. We had an absolutely incredible time and it had so much to do with the staff that worked on our event and the remarkable service they provided. When we had initially booked our date we were paired with one of the sales manager on staff, but she left about 6 months before our wedding and we were moved to working with Andrew Dale. Andrew was so responsive and patient through our entire planning process. With every question and concern he provided expertise and careful suggestions along the way. The rest of the catering staff took great care of us and our guests all night, and we've heard from many of our guests how wonderful the service was at the tables. The chef and kitchen staff are as talented and wonderful as the catering staff. The Heldrich's menu is so creative and we were so impressed when choosing our courses, at the tasting, and finally how the food turned out the night of our wedding. Our guests are still raving about the food. At the end of the night we moved into Christopher's bar for an afterparty where the bartenders were so nice and attentive. With complimentary suites and great room rates we were at the hotel from Friday to Sunday and every person on staff that we encountered was so kind and accommodating. Our guests especially loved the convenience of having their hotel room and wedding in the same place. We made the best decision in choosing to have our wedding at The Heldrich and would for sure recommend this fabulous venue to anyone looking to hold their event in the area.
The Heldrich is the venue to host an outstanding event! Our wedding reception was a successful, fun, and energized evening thanks to the Heldrich staff and its modern, up to date setting. When my husband and I began our search for our perfect venue we knew we wanted a cocktail reception where friends and family could meet and celebrate in a modern setting with fresh creative menu choices and guest accommodations attached. Our goal was to build an experience for our guests that would bring them joy in the moment and the days following the event. We met with several sites; however, once we met with Nicole Calabria, the Senior Catering Sales manager at the Heldrich, there wasn't a need to look any further. She was the perfect fit for my husband and I to achieve our wedding reception goals. During the entire planning process Ms. Calabria was professional and on point - she was able to manage the bride, the groom, and all of the parents with ease as she guided me through all of the decision making needed to make such an event a success: menu choices, vendors, floor plans, linens, and beverages. She is truly a pleasure to work with. My guests have raved to me about how fun my reception was, how comfortable the ballroom is, how much they enjoyed their hotel stay but mainly all of the rave reviews and feedback I received from my guests was how delicious the food was. My guests enjoyed the stationed food format during the reception and are gushing about the stir fry stations, mashed potato bar, the delicious pork loin, and the wedding cake which tasted amazing. I applaud the Heldrich as it is not easy to wow 175 guests but wow they did! As the bride, I could not have asked for more. I am so happy with the way the Heldrich and Ms. Calabria met my needs and the needs of all my guests. I cannot say enough about choosing this venue: you will not be disappointed. For an affordable amount the Heldrich delivers a posh event in a hip, contemporary city setting.
We had our daughter's wedding at The Heldrich in May of 2014 and it was a great experience thanks to Nicole Calabria at The Heldrich. All of our guests had very clean modern rooms and the staff was very helpful. The food they served was some of the best food we've ever had (and I've been to over 300+ weddings as a photographer). I would highly recommend this venue for any event.
I had my wedding reception at the Heldrich hotel on 5/26/13 and it was the best day ever!
I began planning my wedding about 10 months in advance - since it was a big Indian wedding and all of my events were on separate days (pre-party on thursday, wedding on saturday and reception on sunday) it was a bit difficult to find venues that were unique, accommodating, had good locations and of course, gorgeous! The Heldrich was the first venue that I choose and I couldn't have been happier with it.
I found the Heldrich from online searching/the wedding websites and contacted their catering manager, Andrew Dale. We came in to check out the space - the decor and ambiance of the heldrich sells itself - it's beautiful, clean and contemporary with tons of art all over, spacious (we had 400 people) and grand. Despite immediately deciding that it was right for me, Andrew still took the time to show us around and helped us in vision what our event could look like.
For reference:
Cocktail hour in Christopher's Restaurant
Reception in the ballroom
After party in the hotel lobby bar
Once we began planning - Andrew was nothing but helpful and communicative with me for the next 7 months until my event (I know - such little time!). I'm not from new jersey and don't know about the area so Andrew constantly helped me figure things out along the way. Aside from basic wedding planning needs - he helped me find a ceremony location for my wedding the day prior, gave me tons of vendor lists, and was really there for me throughout the process.
As soon as I checked in at the Heldrich the afternoon before my event, Andrew was in communication with me and tied up all my loose ends.
Come the actual party - everything was beautiful, service was smooth, and Andrew was around the whole night, followed my itinerary and made sure everything went perfectly.
I wanted to write more but ran out space so to wrap it up - I love The Heldrich Hotel!
The Heldrich is the perfect site for a reception.
We got married at the Heldrich on July 7, 2012, the hottest day of 2012. Our ceremony was at the Kirkpatrick Chapel on Rutgers campus. Despite the heat, the day was perfect.
We initially worked with Andrew Dale, who completely sold us on the location. We are New Brunswick natives (Rutgers grad students), so were familiar with the location. We had looked at some really nice reception halls, but were turned off by the need to have our guests travel to a hotel. When we met Andrew, he was the first wedding coordinator who really made us feel like he wanted us to have our reception there. Other places wanted the business and had some good features, but Andrew actually seemed to like what he did, and took pride in the location.
The location is top quality, with incredible food, great service and a beautiful location. We also really liked that they gave us great rates on the rooms, and our guests would never have to travel once here. Every time we had an issue, Andrew went out of his way to figure it out. We actually started out with a different chapel, but when they started acting sketchy about what they could do, Andrew made some calls and got us in to see Patrick Cogan at Kirkpatrick, and then he took care of everything for us.
We did have one hiccup in our preparations, when my fiancee's (now wife's) family came out and we had a really poor dinner at Christopher's. When Andrew found out, he found out what had gone wrong (the chefs had all been out) had us come back, and treated us to a phenomenal experience. This is our general experience with the Heldrich - it is of top quality and if anything goes wrong, they go out of their way to make it right. This was honestly the only issue we had though.
During our preparations, Andrew found out that he had to go on a family trip, so we transferred over to Nicole Calabria. We love Andrew and we now also love Nicole. While Andrew sold us on the Heldrich and made us supremely happy to be there, Nicole gave us a fantastic wedding.
We met Nicole at our tasting, and were instantly friends. She was hilarious, and fun. Best of all, she thought of all the things that we didn't. We did not hire a wedding planner (in hindsight, I would seriously consider this), but once we met Nicole we didn't feel like we needed to. She helped us through everything that we didn't think about at first, but suddenly needed to have an opinion on (lighting, place settings, flowers, chairs, etc).
On our wedding day, we had a few inevitable issues come up, but I heard about them and didn't have to deal with them. Nicole made sure that everything that we had planned went smoothly. Our guests (about 150) loved the food, the beauty of the hotel, and the convenience of not having to leave (we had lots of out-of-towners, so this mattered a lot to us). The day was perfect.
The rest of the staff was wonderful, as well, especially the waitstaff and bar tenders. The service was fantastic and we still frequent the bar at Christopher's.
To this day we keep in touch with Nicole and Andrew, and continue to visit the Heldrich for random occasions. As I write this, we are recovering from Hurricane Sandy, and Andrew was able to get us a room before the hotel sold out. This is another bonus we have found here. We didn't just hire a vendor that accepted our money for a nice day. They still go out of their way to help us and make us feel welcome.
love this place!! Nicole did a amazing job with helping for my wedding!!brides book this place will not be disappointed food is amazing!!!
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about having our wedding at The Heldrich. The food was AMAZING (not those typical catering hall foods - this was top-notch chef quality). We even had a private food tasting - most venues have one event where all couples getting married there can go - this was private and amazing! The service was impecable, and the decor was exqusitite. My now-husband and I wanted something more modern and unique and that is exactly what we got at The Heldrich. People are still raving about what an amazing wedding it was and what a great time they had. I have been to 3 weddings since ours in April and have not seen anything that could compare. Our wedding coordinator through the heldrich, Andrew Dale, was extrememly helpful and accomodating - he wanted the wedding to be just as amazing as we did! The only downside is that they are not exclusively a wedding venue - they do business stuff too so the chairs and linens aren't super great but we just rented chair covers. Everything else certainly made up for that. And the best part that we, and all the guests, loved the most was that you could just go right up to your hotel room when the night was over!
Everything at my wedding went perfectly, from cocktail hour til the last person left, there was nothing I could complain about. I am still getting compliments from guests. Andrew Dale made things so easy and was a pleasure to work with. Our wedding was so classy an elegant, not tacky! The food was to die for!
The food and serevice was great!
If you have a chance to work with Nicole at the Heldrich, you are a very fortunate bride. Nicole worked so closely with me to make sure my wedding was everything that I wanted it to be. She went above and beyond what I have ever seen anyone in catering do for a bride. The rest of the staff at the Heldrich is very helpful and friendly as well. My day went smoothly and eveything was exactly as we discussed. Guests commented about the great food and quality of the service. Would have my wedding here again and again!
The Heldrich is a beautiful hotel with incredible staff and amenities in a great location!
We knew as soon as we walked in that this was where we wanted to get married. Nicole Calabria the Catering Manager is AMAZING. She made planning our wedding easy and enjoyable.
We had our ceremony and reception at The Hedlrich and they were both perfect. We could not have been happier.
Every time we met with Nicole or emailed or called her she was happy to help us with any and all of our questions. The weekend of the wedding all of the staff were amazing. The ballroom is gorgeous, the food is incredible, the rooms are wonderful. We took pictures outside the hotel, in the bar and in the lobby, there are so many great places because the whole places is gorgeous.
Not to mention it is located in the heart of New Brunswick so our rehearsal dinner was in walking distance and our guests were able to park there cars at the hotel and walk anywhere they wanted to go during the weekend.
If you are looking to get married in NJ we would absolutely recommend The Heldrich!
our dream wedding was made possible because of the people of The Heldrich! after looking at about 8-10 reception venues (with and without hotels) i knew as soon as we walked the lobby, that no other place would compare. we had a verbal contract that day because we didn't want anyone else to take it :) Nicole Calabria (reception coordinator) was THE most amazing person to work with. i emailed her daily in panic mode about small details and she truly put my mind at ease. the food and drinks were FANTASTIC! the night of the reception... my hubby and i had 2... not just 1... but 2 personal maître d's. one for each of us and they were absolutely phenomenal! they were bringing us (and the bridal party) drinks outside the hotel when we exited the limo from taking pictures. throughout the entire night, we never had to ask for anything. they knew when we needed drinks, even before we did.
I can't say enough about the staff here. they truly made our wedding something we and our guests will NEVER forget! If you want the wedding of a lifetime... i can not recommend them enough!
We had our ceremony and reception at The Heldrich in New Brunswick, NJ. Everything was perfect. From the moment I initially reached out to The Heldrich, their customer service was incredible! No matter how many questions I had, or crazy requests, they were so quick to respond in such a pleasant way. Our wedding day was perfect and better than I could have imagined! All of our guests enjoyed The Heldrich atmosphere and it's location, along with the delicious food and kind service. We truly felt like king and queen for the day. I would recommend The Heldrich to anyone planning their special day!
