I have so many excellent things to say about our experience with the Inn at Virginia Tech!
Bianca Norton is the event coordinator for the Inn and is
absolutely wonderful. She tolerated my MANY e-mails with dozens of questions in each, and was always thorough and pleasant in her responses. As our wedding was delayed due to COVID, Bianca was always happy to meet with us whenever we were in town to discuss details, and was flexible to meet at all hours of the day.
We especially loved using the Inn as a venue because they took care of so many things for us including set up of all decorations, catering, alcohol, tear down, etc. On the wedding day, I did not have to consider any of the details and upon showing up to the reception, everything looked absolutely STUNNING- better than I could have ever asked for.
Our guests had great things to say about how beautiful the Inn was, how convenient it was to stay there after the wedding, and their overall experience with staff.
I would highly recommend the Inn as an all-around inclusive venue and find their prices are extremely fair.
When we had our wedding in Blacksburg in 2013 we used the Inn as our hotel after the wedding. Though we didn't use them for the service when we walked in still dressed they were super excited and so nice. The next morning we woke up to free room service. They went above and beyond for just a one night stay.
We absolutely loved this venue! We were able to have a Hokie wedding with elegance and ease! Bianca was amazing! She helped us every step of the way and put on a million hats to make sure our day ran smooth. She gave us great vendors recommendations, brought up things for us to consider when we were completely clueless, and had suggestions that we would have never considered. The staff was accommodating, friendly, and helped us beyond the call of duty. All of our guests enjoyed the wedding and raved about the food! This is definitely the best all inclusive venue if you're looking for one place for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. No need to find additional caterers and bartenders. Everything turned out perfect and it is all thanks to Bianca and the amazing staff at the Inn at Virginia Tech!
Six weeks before my wedding, my wedding planner quit, because "we didn't have any contracts signed," even though we had already paid her half of her fee. Although the wedding planner was incorrect and were advised that we could pursue legal action, we elected to move past the unfortunate incident. The coordinator at the Inn at Virginia Tech, Bianca, leap into action an ensured our wedding went off without a problem. Without her assistance, the wedding and reception would have likely been a fiasco. I'm thankful to have worked with her and encourage other brides to skip getting a wedding planner if they chose this venue. You will be in good hands with Bianca. If you feel that you need a wedding planner, I would encourage you to talk to Bianca to determine which wedding planners are reliable in the area. She is a wealth of knowledge and will be happy to assist you.
The staff during the reception were excellant. The food were great. My issue with the Inn is with the management. I was informed 2 weeks before the wedding that they couldn't reserve the suite for me, because they were "sold out." This is a suit I need to change the morning of my wedding, and I have been on their book a year in advanced. The person in charge, instead of trying to resolve the situation, told me that she had "warned" me that they do no have enough rooms. Beware that you will experience communication issues with the catering department. And not just slow/delay communication. They will MIA on you weeks at time with no communication.
we were vey happy with our on site coordinator, Courtney. She has a ton of energy and makes you feel like your wedding is the most important.
The only issues we had were that our drinks kept disappearing and so we would have to go back to the bar to get a new one. This racked up our bar tab quickly. Also, many of my guests did not get welcome bags that we had made for them. The front desk said they would hand them out but forgot several times. If they were to deliver the welcome bags to each room, they charge $3 a bag, which is ridiculous.
Food was excellent. Couldn't be happier with my reception at The Inn at Virginia Tech.
Our suite for the wedding night was wonderful.
Every step was perfect. THe planning was great and the execution was flawless. The staff is great!
