Our experience getting married at the Inns of Aurora was matched to the impeccable quality of everything else they do at Inns of Aurora. Our planners Michelle and Kim were helpful, collaborative and flexible. We had a very intimate event and they made me feel like I had absolutely nothing to think about or worry about once we arrived. Kim handled arranging and decorating with the decor I brought and handled any challenge the day brought without a stumble. It was very hot the day of, (so hot the tapers were melting!) and Kim and the staff did everything they could to keep us and our guests comfortable. The venue could not have been more beautiful, so much so that I really didn’t need to bring much decor at all. We even staged a little surprise entertainment for our guests and the planners and staff were fully on board and supportive.
Food quality was very important to us and the food was incredible for both our welcome dinner at Fargo Grill and the meal served at the house, dietary specialties were handled beautifully and generously.
I felt like we really got the bang for our buck, as this staff is above and beyond the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. You get so so much for the cost and the quality is top notch.
Having our wedding at the Inns of Aurora was the best decision we could have made! The setting is gorgeous (our guests were raving), the staff is kind and helpful, and Kim, the day-of coordinator was super thorough and made sure everything happened exactly as we wanted. Plus, the food was amazing! Highly recommend!
Where do I begin? The Inns of Aurora is absolutely gorgeous. From my first tour of the venue to the wedding day, it continuously takes my breath away. The location is just perfect in every way. On the beautiful Cayuga Lake, a historic impeccably clean Inn and town in the background, expansive manicured lawns and gardens, multiple Inn houses to chose from with stylish luxury touches, a unique ballroom with restored historic murals, and the newest addition is a magnificent wedding big tent with attached lakeside patio awning made from quality materials and natural wood beams. I was so lucky to get to use the new lakeside tent before the costs went up for 2021 weddings, it is unlike any typical tent or what they had there in the past, it's absolutely stunning!! The venue is such a peaceful and romantic setting for a wedding, I knew instantly upon touring it was the one. And the ceremony on the lawn by the lake was just perfect. It ran flawlessly and the weather for late October held out to be a perfect 60 degree day! The way the décor was arranged and set up by Kim Jones and her staff was beautiful and all of the elements I provided them fell together perfectly. Working with Kim was so easy and she was so patient with my millions of questions! Having a wedding here is not cheap by any means, especially now that they have raised all their prices and made it more exclusive, it was worth every penny for the most part. The entire vibe set the tone for a romantic intimate small wedding, and they were pretty accommodating to all our changes along the way due to the pandemic. They were extra safe about mask wearing and covid policies. It was a perfect day over all, with a few minor hiccups along the way, but having our wedding here was the best choice. It is perfect for weddings of any size. And honestly, you cannot beat the views and the setting, it's a dreamy place and all our guests were blown away.
Most of our guests raved about the food, although for me and my husband we thought it was just okay, the late night snacks from the Fargo Grill were the best part! For the price they really need to upgrade the food to higher quality ingredients and culinary flavors more on par with their Aurora Cooks level. It was better than many wedding meals I've had but not the best. I expected more from the Inns of Aurora catering since all their restaurants are terrific. But for the location itself I can look past it, and like I said, most guests loved it. We are foodies and judge food very seriously, plus some of what I ordered from the tasting event was completely different on the wedding night which was kind of a bummer.
Overall I wish they were a little bit more flexible with our wants and needs, in the beginning they promise to make your dream wedding come true no matter what, they will accommodate anything. After they had the deposit, there seemed to be always something they couldn't do for us, some things were understandably more difficult, but some requests didn't seem to be a huge deal like keeping the front of the patio tent open while the weather was warm. I do feel the Inns of Aurora can do better at accommodating client requests and assisting with the planning, at times there were miscommunications and confusions, and I felt some of our small details were overlooked. The pros far outweigh the small cons and you will not regret having your wedding here. The location is everything and their eye for design made my vision come to life!
Although my fiance and I ended up having to cancel our wedding at the Inns of Aurora due to Covid, we couldn't have been more happy with our time spent working with Kim Jones and her crew. We were BLOWN AWAY from day 1 of meeting with her. The grounds of the inn were absolutely beautiful and Kim was fantastic at helping me work out the details. I am NOT a planner and was happy to have someone who was willing to take on the stress of planning. Though dealing with a pandemic during wedding planning wasn't something we had anticipated, Kim helped us make difficult decisions and we couldn't have been happier with how they dealt with the situation. We can't wait to plan a trip up to the Inn next year for our anniversary celebration. Thanks to everyone on staff at the Inns of Aurora for being so gracious and helpful!
Words cannot describe how incredible our wedding weekend was!! Throughout the wedding planning process Heather, the event coordinator was beyond amazing and helpful!! She was always there whenever we had questions or ideas and offered suggestions along the way! She was so incredible to work with and we are so thankful for her!!! The venue was absolutely breathtaking. The set up was amazing and the staff was great! The hors d’ouerves and the meals were all delicious!! All of the guests gave us compliments all night and continue to talk about it! They loved that you were able to walk down by the lake to the ruins and even sit by the bon fire!
Our wedding was absolutely perfect! The Inns of Aurora is an amazing wedding venue with beautiful views and grounds. Heather is the best she handled everything and made sure my vision came to life and that the day went perfectly. I would highly recommend her and the Inns of Aurora!!
Everything about the Inns of Aurora is perfect and we could not be happier that we chose this venue for our wedding!! Heather Davidson, their on-site coordinator, helped us every step of the way since day one – she was always available with insights and helpful tips on picking vendors, choosing day of details, or really any wedding related question of which we could think. She is AMAZING! The venue itself is also so beautiful and the entire wedding party was able to stay on site at the Inn and the other houses on the property. The staff was very accommodating and made sure everyone had a great time the entire weekend. On the wedding day itself, everything went absolutely seamlessly thanks to Heather and all the staff and we had nothing to worry about. All our guests raved about the Inn and how delicious the food was. I would 100% recommend the Aurora Inn to everyone and I could not have imagined a more perfect wedding anywhere else!
I cannot brag more about how amazing our wedding was at The Inns of Aurora! Emily and Heather were unbelievable - our wedding went off without a hitch! We had a small wedding, 42 people, and it was so intimate and glamorous (for such a reasonable price). The grounds are so enchanting and the food is exquisite! Guests told us it was the most beautiful and enjoyable wedding they had ever been to. The staff really makes you feel so special and Heather will help you with everything. This was the first wedding in our family and we thought planning would be stressful and overwhelming; it was just the opposite! On a side note, we were from out of town and were able to plan everything from afar with Heather, she gave us amazing advice for vendors and she was so right! We can't wait to go back and enjoy the Inn for our first anniversary.
My shower was held at the inn's 'leffingwell house' it could not have been more perfect!
My husband and I recently married in Aurora, NY and we had our reception at the Aurora Inn. It was the most perfect, beautiful setting and the Inn's staff are wonderful. Working with Heather (wedding coordinator) was so easy and she always made us feel like we were her top priority. Anything we requested was answered right away and she was supportive of all our ideas. She really went above and beyond! The food is delicious and all of our guests raved about it. Even with our large guest list, every meal was perfect. We also had our rehearsal dinner at the Inn the night before and again, the food was perfect. Many of our guests have commented that it was the best wedding they have ever been to because of the food and scenery. The Aurora Inn is worth every single penny! I would relive this day again and again.
Our wedding was perfect. The way the property is laid out allows for a really fun experience for wedding guests. The fire pit by the water, the picturesque historic ruins, the dance floor with a view of the water. Everything is gorgeous & the food was wonderful! Heather the onsite coordinator had the staff bring out another round of appetizers for us because our photos took up most of our cocktail hour- so I can tell you the food is great! Heather is amazing. She helped make everything easy and fixed any problem that came up. She is wonderful and I was so grateful for her. Heather went above and beyond to make our wedding day a beautiful success.
On the planet. A smart thing any bride can do is have a wedding planner on the day of the wedding... The smartest thing you can do - is make sure her name is Heather Davidson. I can't begin to explain how amazing this woman is. Her job title is Bride Whisperer and I do not think anyone else deserves this title more than her. She works at the Aurora Inn and made planning my wedding the smoothest process EVER. I can say enough mind blowing things about her - you will not be disappointed. AMAZING!!!!
The process of planning the wedding with the wedding coordinator, Heather Davidson, was so nice because she's so easy going. It was cool, then, to see her transform into someone who was perfectly skilled, not missing a beat, on the day of the event. Her easy going personality combined with her ability to execute quickly and flawlessly came in extremely handy on our day especially—we had rain, winds, and the governor had issued a tornado warning. Of course I was kept free of this knowledge all day, and I would never have guessed it based on the staff at the Inn's service. They were wonderful through and through.
The Aurora Inn and staff were fabulous! We couldn't have been happier with our day. From the first inquiry visit with Jenn through the planning with Heather Davidson (an invaluable resource!) to the staff on site for the event, everyone was wonderful, helpful, and professional. The setting is truly one of a kind - a gem in the fingerlakes region! We spent several years living in the area and looking at wedding venues, and the Aurora Inn can't be beat. We first stumbled across the Inn randomly when we were out for a Saturday drive and oversaw a wedding taking place and remarked how breath-taking and quaint but elegant the setting is. A couple years later when we got engaged - the Aurora Inn popped right back into our minds. Plan a visit and you'll see for yourself. I couldn't have dreamed of a more wonderful setting.
There is no place like it in the Ithaca Area! The Inn is beautiful, the food was amazing and Heather Davidson makes your day and planning as stress free as possible! I could not have imagined having my wedding any where else!
