The Jupiter Hotel

We had an amazing experience hosting our wedding reception at the Jupiter NEXT. The ballroom, cocktail lounge, and bamboo garden were the perfect size for 170 guests. Eden was incredibly helpful in drawing up the floor plan, as she provided a "typical" layout for the cocktail lounge and garden, but we were able to make the ballroom layout our own. Eden and Jake were very responsive to our multitudes of questions and were quick to address any issues that came up. Many of our guests traveled from out of town, so it was really convenient to set up a large room block at the Jupiter NEXT and have so many of us hanging out around the hotel during our wedding weekend. There are so many cool spaces beyond just the reception venue to gather in small groups! We really wanted to emphasize the beauty and vibes of Portland for our wedding guests, and the Jupiter NEXT was the perfect choice, as it's in a happening part of town with clubs, restaurants, and breweries, has local artwork in all the rooms, and has great views of downtown and the West Hills. We were so impressed by the staff as well who set up the space- they brought our vision to life, and it was so nice being able to walk into the reception with everything set up exactly how we wanted it, without having been there to direct. Jupiter NEXT also provides their own furniture, so they saved us a lot in rental costs. Ultimately, Jupiter NEXT is incredible bang for your buck, and I would recommend it to anyone that wants to get married in Portland.

Jupiter Next was a fantastic wedding venue. The space was modern and fun, and we got lots of positive comments from our guests. Eden helped us through the entire wedding preparation, and was so patient answering all my nit-picky questions. The onsite staff was absolutely incredible on the wedding day, they made sure all our other vendors had what they needed for a successful day.

The Jupiter Hotel and the Jupiter NEXT (where our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, and reception were all held) are superb. The ballroom and 2nd floor space at the Jupiter Next where all our events were held was beautiful, fun, and very "Portland-y" which is just what we wanted. The rooms in the hotels are comfortable, clean, and also quirky "Portland-y". But the best thing about the Jupiter is the staff. EVERYONE we interacted with leading up to the wedding and even the day after was helpful, polite, warm, and absolutely competent. Eden, our on-site coordinator is incredible. She was great about working with all of our other vendors to make sure that things went as-planned. She offered helpful opinions where we needed them. She was also just a truly friendly and kind person to work with. The effective, efficient, and capable staff made it possible for my now husband and I to focus on each other rather than the details of how to make everything happen.

We were one of the first to have a reception at Jupiter Next’s new ballroom, and definitely the first to have a ceremony + reception including a cocktail hour in the foyer while they flipped the room. It was a little stressful to try to figure out floorplans since they hadn’t had many people use the room before and didn’t have examples to show us. Pros: The room is beautiful and a complete blank slate. Being in a hotel is a definitely plus for ease of organizing everything. Their staff is all incredibly friendly. They have an open catering policy whereby you can bring in your own caterer and booze, which is a huge money saver. They were happy to let us into the space a bit early (since nobody else had the room booked) and that made setup easier. They have a bunch of different spaces that are good for photos. Cons: Their inexperience hosting events in the space showed somewhat. For example, when we arrived the chairs weren’t in the right places. Load-in was disorganized and the hotel staff were not prepared for us to show up. We had a little bit of back and forth making sure the things we talked about with the salesperson showed up in writing in the contract. Overall, the price is right and you can’t beat the location. Just be prepared to pay a bit of extra attention to the little details.
