Our wedding at The Margate was absolutely beautiful! The stunning location made for a perfect backdrop, and working with Kim was a breeze. She made the entire process stress-free and ensured every detail was flawless. Highly recommend!
My husband I got married at The Margate Resort on 7/19/2024, and our wedding was absolutely perfect. Our dream for our wedding was a "destination wedding" without requiring all of our guests to take a flight, and we got exactly that feel that The Margate. Our guests loved hanging on the beach by the Beach Bar. We had our rehearsal dinner the night before at the hotel lodge which was convenient and spacious. Our wedding day was beyond amazing. Luckily we had perfect weather which helped to create a beautiful backdrop for pictures. We had a fireworks display to end the night and a bonfire on the beach with pizza and s'mores for our after party. Our wedding coordinator, Nicoleta, was so great! She was attentive and helpful throughout our entire wedding planning journey and was there for us the entire step of the way on the wedding day. She helped make the day perfect. Our guests have not stopped talking about how great our wedding was. Definitely a day we will always remember! We are so grateful for Nicoleta, and the rest of the Margate staff!
(Wedding 6/29/24) I need to start this review by saying that our venue coordinator Kimberly Smith was AMAZING. She made my dream wedding come true and fully followed my vision. I sent her my binder that had diagrams of everything, table set up, decor set up, vendors... everything. She was outstanding during the wedding, and everything leading up. We had dozens and dozens of emails back and forth during the planning process, and she helped us set up our rehearsal dinner as well. I cannot explain how amazing she was.
Now onto the venue:
Even though it rained, we were able to enjoy the view under the pavilion and tent. The view was beautiful and our guests loved it. We had fireworks at the end of the reception and had a private pool party with a bartender.
My husband and I love Lake Winni and we are so happy we could show all our our guests our favorite place.
We had our wedding at the Margate in June 2023 and we highly recommend it! We had our ceremony in the pavilion, reception in the tent on the west lawn, and a bonfire on the beach for an after party. The pavilion ceremony location was stunning. Everything about the weekend was perfect and our families and guests all raved about how much they loved the venue and how fun the wedding was. The location is beautiful and they have the amazing sunset views. Most of our guest stayed at the hotel and had a great experience. I thought the rooms were reasonably priced. They also have the beach bar open in the summer which was a fun place for us and our guests to hang out throughout the weekend. We used Hart’s for our catering (also highly recommended) and ended up doing our rehearsal dinner off site but they have options for on site as well!
Our coordinator Kim was the best! She was so nice and reassuring and was really great with communication via email and over the phone when I had questions. She literally thought of everything and was super organized and on top of every detail. I felt so much more at ease knowing she was there. One of the other coordinators Jordan was there helping on our wedding day as well and she was also so sweet and helpful. Overall 10/10 experience and I wish we could do it all again!
My husband and i recently got married here this past july and couldn't have had a better wedding anywhere else! Kim was AMAZING! She made sure EVERY detail was nailed down so we would not have to worry, all the way down to the rehearsal dinner and set up! It was so hot that day and the staff made sure we had every thing we needed! The views were amazing, our wedding was outdoors and we finished the night off on the beach surrounding a campfire with smores and all of our friends! We would recommend the margate to anyone looking in the New Hampshire area! Perfect wedding weekend!
They were Amazing. Our wedding Coordinator Kimberly was great. We will definitly refer others to this location. The location is beautiful.
The Margate was a dream destination for our wedding! It's so great how everything is right there so you don't have to leave the property. We used the dining room for our rehearsal dinner, we had a bonfire on the beach for our welcome event, had the ceremony in the pavilion, reception in the tent on the lawn, and the after party in the pool. Our coordinator was Caroline and she was wonderful to work with! Most of the time she was super prompt with her responses but occasionally I was waiting a few weeks. I think because they were down a coordinator she was extremely busy so this was very understandable. She still made sure all of my questions were answered and was crucial in making the wedding day run without a hitch! If you book with them, the room they initially show as the "bridal suite" is dark and not very attractive. Instead we booked the larger room in the Lakefront Building and that was perfect. You get a beautiful view of the lake in the background. The Margate is truly a stunning location with lots of great spots for photos with your new spouse and for your guests. We also did the fireworks at the end of the night and that was quite a highlight!
Cons and reasons I'm giving them 4 stars and not 5. Their booking system is a bit outdated. They give you an online option but it's not as easy with the blocks as the big chain hotels. I think I was on the phone with the booking at least 3-4 times where I let them know I still had never received a confirmation email with my booking and every time they said they would send it I never got it until finally about 1 month before the wedding. Most of my guests also never got a confirmation email. Check-in isn't until 4pm but the ceremony was set at 3:30pm and early check-in is not guaranteed even if you pay. Luckily most of our guests were there the day before otherwise this would've been an issue. I will also say I do not recommend buying any alcohol through them. We bought cases of wine through them. Industry standard is 200-300% and their markup was 400-450% and you can't return what isn't opened since they buy from a warehouse. They also usually have more than one wedding. Most of the time I didn't notice except during our toasts. While my dad and sister were giving their speeches the other ceremony was happening in the pavilion and half the time I couldn't really hear what the person was saying over the music/sounds from the other wedding. Similarly I felt bad for them and hoped the sounds from our reception didn't overpower their ceremony.
Despite these factors I still had my absolute dream wedding at the Margate and would still highly recommend it as a venue!
we had n amazing wedding day at the margate. Caroline was super helpful before the wedding answering my millions of questions I had. the venue itself is beautiful we got married and had the reception in the tents by the lake. all the guests raved about the location as there is lots to do including swimming in the lake/pool and the tiki bar. its easier having everything all in one. wen had our rehearsal dinner in the restaurant there and it was great. Caroline was flexible the day of when it downpoured and we had to push the start time of the ceremony. I was even able to switch to a pool party due to weather and it was do fun. highly recommend. oh and ask to book the rooms in the lake building on the ground floor that have been renovated for your getting ready, photographed so nicely and it was nice to be so close to the water
Pros: the margate is convenient as we hosted all of our events (rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, welcome party, ceremony, and reception) on-site, bars are located throughout the property, the pool party was a blast the night before the wedding, and location is beautiful
Cons: coordinator changed a few months before the wedding, new coordinator and bartenders were less than friendly on the day of the wedding. Cold to my bridesmaids who were trying to help set up decor, never checked in to see how everything was going or wished us well/congrats/thank you. The resort is being updated, but the building we got ready in was still outdated (pink sink, outdated wallpaper, etc.). Would have given 5 stars if the staff were more friendly/outgoing.
We had the most amazing wedding at The Margate. We booked the Mariah Room overlooking the lake just before the pandemic started, so we were a little nervous as things got worse about what would happen or if we would have to cut our numbers. The venue helped us figure out a larger back-up reception space on the property just in case, but luckily by the time our date came we were able to stick with our original plan. Ashton was amazing to work with! She was so prompt in responding to our many questions and went above and beyond to make our day perfect. Our ceremony was in the gorgeous outdoor pavilion by the water. The reception space was perfect for the size of our guest list and had amazing views of the lake. The beach and docks were ideal for capturing our wedding party and couple photos. We booked a beach campfire following the reception and the other wedding that night was having fireworks so our guests got to enjoy them while lighting up sparklers we provided. The after party space we reserved at the indoor pool bar was so fun. Our guests said the late-night pizza really hit the spot and we had full use of the pool and hot tub after it closed to the rest of the resort. We couldn't have imagined a more perfect place for our special day and hope to come back and visit in years to come.
We married at The Margate on 12/31/21, and we could not have been more pleased with our experience. The property is very conveniently located with tons of stores and great restaurants nearby, and had wonderful views of Lake Winnipesaukee from the Lakeview hotel rooms. Having an off-season wedding at The Margate has a ton of perks that should not be overlooked. We had pretty much the entire resort to ourselves, including the pool and hot tub. And we were able to get the MOST AMAZING first look photos out on the beach, with just enough snow covering the rocks and sand and the frozen lake in the background. We wanted intimate, cozy and unique and that's exactly what we got! Our ceremony took place in the Mariah room, which overlooks the lake, and we opted to have the fireplace lit for extra coziness & ambience. The lanterns, twinkle lights, candles and fireplace made the most amazing backdrop. Then, we moved over to the lounge for our reception, located in a separate building, connected by an underground passageway just incase of inclement weather (or if your guests are just looking for an alcohol-induced adventure lol!). The lounge is in a building with no guest rooms, so we were able to celebrate our NYE wedding until 1am without disrupting anyone, huge perk! The lounge has a sort of vintage, rustic, speak-easy vibe, including a huge bar, lots of mirrors, wrought iron gates, exposed brick and lamp posts which I cannot stress enough was absolutely perfect for a NYE wedding. The maintenance staff was always easy to find and helpful, the front desk was accommodating when needed for minor guest requests, and most importantly, if you are planning your wedding there you'll get to work with Ashton, wedding consultant extraordinaire! Brides, you will LOVE working with her - she is infatuated with wedding & event planning and it shows! She is extremely dedicated to being available for you and replying expediently to your hundreds of emails and questions, this I can assure you! And as an added bonus, you'll really get her all to yourself if you choose an off season wedding - (in peak season, Ashton coordinates up to 3 weddings in one day, HOW I will never understand but she rocks! I know this because she once responded to an email I sent in the summer saying "I am onsite and answering emails, but I'm going to have to get back to you in a couple of days with the answer to your question because I have 3 weddings each day for the next couple of days"....yes THIS is the level of service you can expect from her. And honestly as a bride, you can't really put a price tag on the value of a wedding consultant like Ashton at The Margate. I totally get the appeal of a wedding at The Margate during the nice weather, but if you're looking for something unique and one of a kind like I was, consider a winter wedding right on the lake at The Margate! The Margate does outsource their food, but I can tell you that the buffet provided by Curt's Catering was delicious! We added the mashed potato bar as an extra on top of the buffet options and it was a HUGE hit, I highly recommend this, so fun! They also accommodated gluten free and dairy free food signage for some of our guests with allergies. I would choose this venue & this NYE wedding theme over and over again, and that's saying A LOT since our original plan (destroyed by covid) was a destination Hawaii wedding. Highly reccommend!!!
The Margate is a beautiful setting to get married in, you’ll be married right on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee, which makes a beautiful backdrop. The ceremony is under the cover of a pavilion, and there are three options for your reception location. Our coordinator was extremely responsive throughout the year we were planning, and kept everything running smoothly on the day of. You are able to use any vendors here, with the exception of caterers, who you must pick from their preferred list. We didn’t find that a problem, and there was plenty of variety available. One thing to keep in mind is this is a resort, so there will be other guests around, but we found everyone to be respectful of our space.
We got married at the margate on sept 5th 2021 and the first word that comes to mind is “magical” . Our wedding was truly a dream even with the down pours (it’s good luck right? ) . We booked our wedding 2 years ago in the winter without even seeing the tent and property because of the wedding planner we met with. Honestly, Ashton (our wedding planner ) was the reason we booked at the margate , her energy from the second we met her was like “ya this girl really cares I about her job , the couples that are getting married and just the whole picture”. Through 2 years of planning , all of the stress with covid and just the overall uncertainty of planning a wedding she was our rock. She went above and beyond for our family and all of the guests at the wedding . SHE is the heart and soul of the margate . She took my ideas of my fantasy wedding and what i envisioned It would look like and made it possible. She went above and beyond!!!Our wedding looked like it belonged in a magazine. The venue is absolutely beautiful, it is so convenient for guests to be able to come and go from the welcome party, wedding and after party at the tiki bar without having to drive . All of our guests had an amazing wknd! I wish we could do it all over again !!!
The Margate was the perfect venue for our wedding! We had the lakeside pavilion and the west lawn tent. The fact that everything was outside made us so much more confident leading up to it that our wedding would be safe with Covid. Our guests loved going to the beach and beach bar all weekend. One tip, if you think you’ll need more rooms than you’re able to reserve when you book the wedding, get your guests to book really early so you can get more added, they sell out often! I also can’t say enough good things about our coordinator from the Margate, Ashton. She was PHENOMENAL. I honestly looked forward to her emails so much during the planning process because she was just that great. She is so hard working and was so willing to go the extra mile. She even helped bustle my dress! The Margate is a great venue, but Ashton makes it a perfect venue.
The staff at the Margate were super flexibile. We had to reschedule our original date due to Covid and they were amazing with the whole process. The venue itself is gorgeous and you can't go wrong. We ended up having our ceremony outside on the pavilion and our reception in tent, followed by a fire on the beach. It was everything I could have ever wanted. The pictures you are able to get from this venue are truly amazing.
My husband and I ended up booking the Margate less then 30 days before our wedding due to having to cancel our Rhode Island wedding due to COVID-19 restrictions. I have grown up on the lake and should have had my wedding reception here to begin with. The venue is STUNNING! The backdrop for our ceremony was unbelievable and our tented reception view was even better. At the end of the night we did fireworks and a bomb fire. It was an amazing day. Ashton, was the best wedding coordinator that I could have gotten. She knew our back story and wanted to make sure it was flawless. AND IT WAS. Ashton was on top of everything and catered to our every need. I am so happy with how things turned out. Everyone said our wedding was one of the best weddings they have ever been to. Thank you Ashton for all your hard work.
My husband & I got married on 8/15/2020.
We have been planning this day for almost two years. Our wedding coordinator was Caroline Snyder. It was very difficult to plan things due to this being a destination wedding and also COVID times. Let me just say, Caroline and everyone at The Margate went above and beyond for us during our whole wedding weekend! Caroline was in constant communication with me prior to the wedding to get every detail just right..none too big or too small. I sent her a list of my decor for the wedding and pictures, and I was in shock when I saw the tent and everything set up. IT WAS PERFECT. She was also right on top of managing the vendors, and knowing exactly what my husband and I needed throughout the night. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and we would definitely recommend The Margate to anyone. Beautiful venue and even more of a beautiful experience! 5 stars.
Working with the Margate Resort was a dream. The setting for the ceremony is beautiful, I couldn't have asked for a better backdrop for our photos. We had our reception in the Mariah room which had a beautiful view of the lake. Ashton was out coordinator and she was absolutely amazing. Throughout the whole wedding process, she was easy to work with and quick to respond to e-mails. We started our wedding planning with a different coordinator who left The Margate during our engagement, Ashton was able to pick up our event seamlessly. She made sure everything went smoothly on the day of our wedding and her presence was invaluable. The Margate can have up to 3 weddings a day, and there were 2 other weddings happening on our wedding date. However, they run things so smoothly, I never saw another bride. I'd recommend The Margate Resort to anyone who is looking to have a beautiful lake side wedding.
We used the margate for our wedding reception, our rehearsal dinner, as well as staying there for the weekend! I am so happy we chose the Margate, it was amazing! Caroline is so easy to work with, responsive, and attentive to details. The bartender was also great as well, and all the other staff. Everything went off as planned. We also loved the extra add ons! We had a campfire by the beach and a pool party. A great time was had by all the guests and made for a memorable weekend!
Caroline Snyder is a fantastic coordinator and the entire staff at the Margate was very accommodating to all of our guests and for all of our needs. I highly recommend the Margate for a beautiful wedding experience.
We worked with Caroline for our wedding this past weekend and there aren't enough words to explain how great she was and how easy she was to work with. We had so many questions about every aspect of the wedding and she was so patient with us as we figured it all out. The best part about the Margate is that all of the vendors they recommend have done events there so many times that you truly have nothing to worry about. Our wedding day was perfect and I am so incredibly grateful for everything Caroline and the Margate did for us.
I am not even sure where to begin here but first off I want to thank Shelbie for working with me this past year. Every email, question, phone call.... she went above and beyond to calm me down, fix my problems and answer all questions. I wouldn't have been able to do this without her. We also had the rehearsal dinner there on Friday night and I couldn't get enough compliments from everyone with how great the weekend was. It was truly an amazing time and wish I could do it over.
This is the hidden gem of the lakes region. There is no better location for a lake front wedding in the area! The view from the venue alone is enough to make you book it, however the customer service is where you truly understand why this place is the best. We booked this venue 2 years ahead of time because we wanted to ensure our dates. With only 6 months to go our original venue coordinator left suddenly without telling us, you would think this was a disaster, however Caroline (our new coordinator) stepped in and made us wish we had her first. We had some hiccups with room situations that was handled quickly and efficiently by her and she honestly saved our wedding. If you are looking for lakefront weddings, this venue is the best option in the area and Caroline is the venue coordinator for you!
We had our wedding at The Margate on 10/14/17 and we had the most wonderful wedding!! Our ceremony was at the pavillion and our reception was in the ballroom. The pavillion right on the water was the perfect spot to exchange our vows. The ballroom was big enough for our guests and photo booth! The Margate was so affordable and accommodating. Shelby was our contact and she answered all our questions and made the day go seamlessly. The bon fire after our reception was a blast!! It was so cool to be able to chill with our guests at the fire on the beach. The Margate was everything we could have hoped for and we would recommend this location to anyone!
My husband and I were married at the Margate Resort two weeks ago and it was absolutely perfect in every way! We had the ceremony at the Pavilion and our reception in the Mariah Room. We actually started with Beth as our day-of-coordinator but she left the Margate last November. Even though we were a little hesitant to be switched to Shelbie at what seemed like the last minute, she blew us away with her professionalism, organization, and hard work. The venue itself is gorgeous and needs very little decorations to make it a magical wedding. It was a little nerve-wracking that the Margate can potentially have up to three weddings on any given day, which effects the ceremony time. However, every detail worked out in our favor and our guests are STILL talking about our wedding!
Everything was wonderful! From the bonfire reception the night before - to the wedding with fireworks & after party. The the west lawn area & both outdoor tents were beautiful. Shelby was a pleasure to work with. She helped ease any of our anxieties, along with helping us realize our vision for a perfect wedding
My husband and I held our wedding at the Margate, and we are so pleased we did! Our ceremony was held in the Pavilion, and our reception was in the Mariah Room. The views during both our ceremony and reception were beautiful, and the grounds made for some beautiful photo ops. What made the Margate such a great choice was that (1) all of our guests could stay on site and (2) it had so many options to keep people entertained the entire weekend. Friday night, guests were welcomed with a get together at the Beach Bar, and Saturday night, after our reception, everyone stopped back into their rooms to change into comfy clothes, and then headed to a bonfire on the beach to keep the party going. Shelbie was our coordinator, and I LOVED working with her. She was very attentive and professional, but her clam demeanor really helped me stay relaxed throughout the planning process and during the wedding itself. All in all, the Margate is a fantastic wedding venue choice!
I got Married at The Margate this passed August, and they were amazing!! They accommodated any of requests, whether it be decorations, timeline, bar requests, etc. My coordinator, Caroline, was spectacular! She always answered my calls and/or emails so quickly, always had answers and suggestions for me, and was beyond helpful throughout our planning process! She put my mind at ease all the way through to the end! We loved the location on the lake, and having all of our guests staying there all weekend with us! Their pricing was reasonable, And would highly recommend this venue to any brides looking for a beautiful outdoor wedding venue right on the lake!!
We had our wedding at the Margate this past July. It was a day that I will never forget, and yes, I know that is cliche, but it’s the truth. From when we booked the venue, to saying goodbye the next morning after the wedding, our wedding coordinator, Caroline, made everything possible. She went above and beyond and was always there when I needed to ask a question or to even just feel better about things. To my husband and I, our wedding day just flowed. Caroline did everything to make sure that we didn’t worry about anything.
We have been told that our wedding was over the top, and absolutely beautiful. I don’t think that would of been possible if it wasn’t for the Margate and how hard they worked from beginning to end and how much Caroline put her heart and soul into what she does. It was overall amazing. I wish I could go into more details, but still looking back at the day, I’m speechless. Without the Margate and Caroline, our wedding wouldn’t have been our dream come true! Thank you Margate and mostly, thank you to Caroline; you are truly amazing and we appreciate all you have done for us!
My husband and I got married at the Margate in June outside under the pavilion and had our reception in the Mariah Room. This venue was absolutely beautiful and the views were amazing. Our wedding guests are still talking about this wonderful venue. Our wedding coordinator, Caroline, was absolutely wonderful! Caroline was wonderful at organizing everything to make our wedding day stress free. I highly recommend this venue!!
If you are looking for a spot for your perfect wedding day, just stop reading now and book IMMEDIATELY! I can't put into words how EFFORTLESS the big day was after so much planning and last minute changes! The resort itself is BEAUTIFUL but if that isn't enough, know this: probably the biggest part of what made our day LITERAL MAGIC was an angel name Caroline, our day of coordinator. From the moment we booked, through contracts, last minute craziness of trying to plan while starting a new job and so many other crazy aspects, Caroline made sure to be responsive, helpful, and absolutely went ABOVE AND BEYOND the day of! If there was an issue during our event, we HONESTLY had NO IDEA - but from what I hear, there wasn't one! Everything was absolutely perfect, even in the heat and humidity and threat of incoming storms. When things needed to be assembled and the bridal team ran into a hitch on a few things, it was only LATER that I found out the 2,000 EXTRA MILES that Caroline went to, just to make things perfect. It was by far the best experience we could've ever hoped for, from the planning, to the rehearsal dinner, to the stay, to the wedding itself. If you're looking for a PHENOMENAL team, a GORGEOUS location, and a place where all of your friends and family are walking distance from their room after a truly BREATHTAKING fireworks display? I could go on, but honestly, if you haven't stopped by now and called them to secure your big day, I'd be shocked! The Margate played a crucial role in the best day of our lives, an AMAZING time had by our family and friends, and the experience TRULY would not have been the same without Caroline in our corner, every step of the way, on even the smallest detail. I hope to have more pictures soon, but I'll post a few in the interim, and maybe a video so you can see how ABSOLUTELY majestic this place is... but make no mistake, having a wedding coordinator like Caroline is worth the cost twice over! Special thanks to the Margate and to Caroline for what was absolutely PERFECT!
We got married October 15th in the Grand Ballroom. The ceremony was in the Lakeside Pavillon. We couldn't have asked for a better venue. I wanted naturally beautiful back drop and the Margate delivered. We had the lounge Friday night for pre wedding festivities with karaoke and a beachfire. The guests loved it and saw it as an opportunity for a weekend getaway. Caroline was our coordinator and was amazing. She answered all my emails, which were many, and made sure all the details were taken care of. It was stress free and went off without any issues. I was nervous on how the ballroom would look but once we had the uplighting and tables set it exceeding my expectations. We had Hart's Turkey Farm cater which was economical and delicious. One tip is to make sure your guests book early as they do up to 3 weddings at a time and can book up fast. Highly recommend!!!
I got married at The Margate on October 8th. We had our ceremony in the pavilion on the lake and the reception in the tent. It was AMAZING! The tiki bar on the lake was so much fun too! It was the perfect place for our guests to relax and have a cocktail! The night before the wedding we had a Luau in the bar/pool area. It was so much fun! They let us decorate the whole place in Hawaiian decor. The bartenders were so nice and they did a great job!
The day of the wedding couldn't of gone any better! The only thing I didn't like is that there was no one to help decorate the tent for me. My bridesmaids and I had to set the whole thing up. It is just something that a bride shouldn't have to worry about the day of her wedding. Other than that everything else was perfect! We had fireworks and a bonfire on the lake after the wedding! Everyone who I talk to keeps saying it was one of the best weddings they have been to! They just loved it there!
We were very pleased with The Margate! Caroline was great during the whole planning process. She always answered my questions in a timely manner and was very helpful with everything. I would absolutely recommend The Margate!
We recently had our wedding at the Margate resort and everyone absolutely loved it. Caroline was our coordinator and she was great. She was very responsive to emails and questions leading up to the big day. The ceremony space is one of the nicest I have ever seen. Our reception was in the mariah room and it was perfect for our 95 guests. All of our guests stayed at the Margate for two nights. Having the rehearsal, ceremony, and reception all in one place was great, it was like a two day vacation for everyone. The only downside was we were supposed to have cocktails brought to us after the ceremony during pictures and that never happened, we had to send some of the wedding party in to get them for us. The only thing I would caution people on considering the margate is the cost of alcohol. We wanted to provide as much booze as possible for our guests and their prices make that difficult. A quarter keg is $275 and a bottle of wine is $25.99 plus a 20% service fee, plus a 9% tax, making a quarter keg $355 and a bottle of wine $33.50 which is very high. So our alcohol budget didnt go nearly as far as we wanted. I know the service fee and tax is pretty standard for any resort, it just makes alcohol very expensive. other than that it was absolutely perfect. we wouldn't change a thing if we were to do it all over again. We used Curts for rehearsal and reception and it was fantastic. I highly recommend the margate to anyone considering it as a venue.
Our wedding was on October 7th 2016 and i couldn't be happier with having it at The Margate! Everything was right their, rehearsal, Rehearsal dinner, Bridal Salon, Ceremony, reception, after party and hoteling! My guest loved that they never had to leave the resort! The ceremony space down by the water just takes your breath away and is worth the cost. We had about 95 guest in the Mariah room for the reception and it was the perfect size. You could still see the water and most of the guest rooms for the night were in the same building. Only negative i would give The Margate is there policy and pricing about Alcohol, if you are looking to do an open bar this can get really pricey and cut into the budget. If i had to do it all over again i would pick the Margate! It is truly an awesome place to get married!
Our wedding was September 17th, 2016 at The Margate and it was absolutely amazing! I can definitely say that my Wedding Day was, thus far, one of the best days of my life! The Margate was a great location for our reception because of the large Ballroom that accommodated all of our guests, the option for a campfire after hours of dancing, and the option for guests to stay right on the property on the night of our Wedding. Caroline Snyder was a great Wedding Coordinator and was very responsive to all of my questions (email, phone, and in person) and helped ensure that the day went as smoothly as possible!
Pluses:
-Ballroom was available on Thursday for our Saturday Wedding and this made our set-up incredibly smooth and relaxed
-Caroline's flexibility and responsiveness to all of my questions, worries, etc.
-The large Ballroom to accommodate all of our guests and the option to stay in the Ballroom until midnight (whereas, in the Mariah Room, weddings have to end at 10 PM because of the guest rooms surrounding the reception room)
-The campfire after our reception with s'mores and pizza (we set-up the s'mores and ordered the pizza)
-The option for guests to stay right on the property
-Caroline's recommendations for vendors (all of our vendors were amazing!)
Cons:
-There were 3 weddings at The Margate on 9.17 so parking was tight, otherwise, I didn't even notice there were 3 weddings going on simultaneously!
Our wedding day was perfect, and I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for an affordable venue with the beauty of other top-notch locations. We planned our wedding in 5 months with Caroline, who was very responsive to e-mails, telephone calls, and inquiries. She provided numerous recommendations as far as vendors went and even went as far as putting us in touch with a new stylist when the previous one was unreliable. Her patience and willingness to go through all of the details from start to finish of the wedding made for a smooth wedding day during a busy July 4th weekend. The resort was big enough to accommodate all of our wedding guests overnight, and even provided amenities like a private pool party and private campfire into the evening. This made for an incredible evening from ceremony to reception to after party. I highly recommend this venue and recommend speaking with Caroline Snyder. Her patience and calmness on our wedding day calmed any sort of hidden jitters and made for a magical day!
Im writing this several months later. But I just had to give an amazing review since my husband & I had an AMAZING wedding at the Margate Resort on August 29, 2015 ..
It was the perfect setting for a lakeside wedding. Our coordinator Caroline was a big help through all the planning and the day of the wedding she certainly made sure everything ran smoothly. Caroline (was ALWAYS available and made planning our wedding an absolute breeze! She answered every email in a timely manner & always offered suggestions. She became like a best friend to me.
The day of the wedding Caroline kept everyone in line and on time so our ceremony & reception went off without a hitch!
The location itself is absolutely beautiful which makes for a beautiful lakeside wedding.
The Mariah Room (where we had our reception) was absolutely stunning and had it's own private bar. We also had a private bonfire after the reception and had a blast enjoying the lake and fire! The Margate is very Family Friendly which is also one of the reasons we chose this venue.
If I could give Caroline 10 Stars or more I would. We Absolutley love her ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I got married at The Margate on 10/11/15 and we worked with Beth. The wedding was absolutely stunning and I could not be more happy with how everything turned out!! This was a perfect venue for us because we had the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all onsite, which was convenient and exactly what we were looking for. Beth was very helpful throughout the entire planning process and stepped in to help whenever we needed it. We had a handful of guests who had trouble booking a room in our room block (front desk mistakes) and she was able to help figure out and resolve the confusion with the employees. The front desk staff is the biggest place for improvement in terms of knowledge and professionalism. We misplaced our room key to the bridal suite the night of the wedding (since we didn't have pockets or a purse) and the front desk gave us an unusually hard time getting an extra key to get in our room - I was still in my wedding dress and by husband was in his suit and everything! That was actually absurd, but the worst part of the entire weekend. On a separate note the only down side is that check-in isn't until 3pm, but our ceremony started at 3:30pm which was very tight. You can pay extra for early check-in or call the day of and the front desk will call you as soon as the room is ready. 3pm is the latest check-in time I have ever heard and this is really my only complaint so for any guests who are arriving the day of the event, just plan ahead. Beth did make this clear from the beginning though :) ! I highly recommend this venue and am so glad I had such a positive wedding day experience here!
Great location for a fall wedding on the lake (for both ceremony and reception) beautiful view which makes for great pictures. Our wedding coordinator was very helpful. The Only thing we had trouble with was reserving enough rooms in our block for our guests (we had a wedding of about 210) towards the beginning guests were told there were no rooms left, but as the time got closer to the wedding it turns out there were plenty of rooms left at the hotel.
We were very disappointed in how our wedding reception turned out at The Margate Resort in Laconia. My husband and I were married on 10/3/15 and held our reception in the Mariah Room at the Margate. Our coordinator, Caroline was less than helpful day of. We had made previous arrangements for the screen and projector to be taken down and moved off of the dance floor at 5:30 so that we could do our first dance and start dinner. Caroline was nowhere to be found and at 6pm after several questions from our DJ who was trying to keep the evening on track several family members/wedding guests had to disassemble and remove the screen and projector so we could have our first dance. When Caroline did resurface shortly before my husband and I were introduced, I mentioned that it was well past 5:30 and guests had to take down the projector, she just looked at me and said nothing. No apology. At the end of the night Caroline approached me regarding whether or not we wanted to save the top tier and any leftover wedding cake. Of course we said yes! My Aunt had spent a week planning, baking and decorating that cake, we wanted to at least have a piece since we only had a bite during the reception. Not to mention we had planned to freeze some cake and have it on our first anniversary as is the tradition. My aunt as well as other family members and Caroline were aware of our wishes to save our wedding cake. The next morning my husband went to retrieve the cake from the refrigerator only to find that it was not there. Here is where we get very conflicting stories about what happened next. Caroline claims my Aunt was very rude to her and destroyed and discarded our wedding cake, while My Aunt and two other people who were in the kitchen at this time in say the cake was boxed and placed in the refrigerator as discussed. After speaking with my Aunt about what happened I called Caroline to hear her side of the story. She claimed that my Aunt was extremely rude to her, she “swears to God” that she saw my Aunt throw the cake away and that she seriously wasn’t lying. After speaking with the other two people in the kitchen that night, neither of them witnessed my Aunt destroying or throwing the cake away. This is absolutely unacceptable. If at any point there was an issue with the cake, either my husband, myself or my mother should have been notified immediately as we were all still in the Mariah room talking and taking down decorations.
We had our wedding weekend at the Margate a few weeks ago! It was perfect! This venue was the first place we looked at and the others did not compare!! We had our rehearsal dinner in the Blackstone Lounge then were able to privately open it up for guests since we are from out of state. The ceremony location was breathtaking as well as our reception on the West Lawn. Our reception was followed by a bonfire on the beach and a hot breakfast buffet Sunday morning with a private room!! Caroline was very helpful and accommodating throughout the planning! She helped to make it easy to plan most of the wedding from out of state. We were able to spend a whole weekend celebrating with family and friends in the greatest setting. The rooms, food and service was great! We highly recommend this location for your perfect outdoor wedding!!
Brides- Please, stay away!
I recently had my wedding at the Margate. Throughout the year of planning, we experienced several hiccups. First off, their preferred caterers (Bliss and Hart's Turkey Farm) were completely unresponsive, one even noting that my wedding would be their last, as they did not enjoy working with the Margate in the least. Therefore, my husband and I were forced to bring in an outside caterer, paying an extra fee to do so, even though we had no choice. We were not told AT ALL that we also had to provide our own place settings, dishware, and silver ware until a week prior to our wedding.... pretty stressful for a bride to drop $600 last minute for this!
During the day of the wedding, our coordinator, Beth, was absolutely NO WHERE to be found. My entire family and wedding party were trying to track her down all day with questions, letting her know we were running late, etc. Finally, minutes before I was to walk down the aisle, she shows up. Throughout the evening, she was not around AT ALL. It was embarrassing and upsetting that myself and my wedding party had to run the wedding on our own, as our coordinator was not there to orchestrate the cake cutting, father/mother dances, bouquet toss, speeches, etc. My husband and I had champagne glasses on our table, empty during the toasts. Our caterer had asked about filling them previously, to which Beth stated that she did not have any champagne toasts for us in her notes... yet she handled our champagne glasses and put them on our table? The cake cutting (again, put on by myself, as Beth was MIA), still had the stickers on our cake cutting set (again, Beth promised she would take care of that the day before, and to leave them on her desk). Imagine, all eyes on you, during such a special moment of your night, and you're peeling off stickers from your beautiful cake cutting set.... also, no plates or forks were on the cake cutting table. Luckily, I was able to send a bridesmaid to go grab some for me.... how embarrassing.
The entire night went exactly like this, which left my husband, myself, and my family unable to completely enjoy the night, as we had to work to be sure everything was done correctly. Had I known that we would have such an absent wedding coordinator, I would have hired my own, as the last thing you want to do during your own wedding is run it.
The next day I let Beth know about all these instances, to which she tried to point fingers at everyone else to blame (DJ, caterer, etc). My caterer also refuses to ever step foot back onto the Margate, as she had such a terrible experience working with them as well.
I understand things happen, but at the end of the day, it is so disappointing having to remember all the stress and upsetting moments caused by the wedding coordinator and the Margate as a whole. The tiki bar, beach, fireworks and view are a great touch, however, I highly urge you to take into consideration my experience, as I would absolutely hate another bride and her family to experience what we had.
Getting married at The Margate was probably one of the best decisions we've ever made! Beth (our coordinator) was ALWAYS available and made planning our wedding an absolute breeze! She kept everyone in line and on time on the big day so our ceremony & reception went off without a hitch! The location itself is absolutely beautiful - literally NO decoration was needed on our part for the ceremony location (the Pavilion)as the flowers that are planted there year round are gorgeous all on their own. The Mariah Room (where we had our reception) was absolutely stunning and had it's own private bar & bathrooms. We also had a private bonfire after the reception and had a blast enjoying the lake and fire! When given the option for a catere: Curt's Catering all the way! The food was phenomenal, the people were amazing and they were hyper sensitive to the food allergies of my wedding guests!
OVERALL: AMAZING!
Omg I can't say enough good things about the Margate. Venue, staff, location, views, fireworks, everything was phenomenal! Beth Childs and her staff made my planning process so easy and less stressful than it could've been. She is a godsend! If I have any suggestions use the outdoor tent for your reception, the views of sunset over the lake were AMAZING. 2 of our engaged couple guests are now getting married at the margate simply because of how beautiful our wedding was. I could not have had a better experience. It was like the Catalina Wine Mixer! (Watch the movie Stepbrothers if you don't get the reference)
What a great wedding we had at The Margate! Our wedding coordinator Carolyn Snyder was the best she took care of everything that I didn't have time for. I had so many guest come up and tell me and my husband that our wedding was the best wedding they had ever been to. The ceremony site was amazing and the outdoor tent was perfect. I will never forget my one of a kind wedding at The Margate!
My husband and I needed a venue that could hold potentially 250 guests, so our options felt limited.
After visiting The Margate and meeting Nicole, who would continue to be our planner, we quickly decided to book. The reasonable room rates, outdoor bar, large ballroom, late night bonfire and lake location all sold us!
Nicole was excellent to work with - she is very knowledgeable, responsive and helpful. From start to finish, she was amazing.
We had one major gripe. With nearly all our guests staying at least one night, some two or three, on top of our wedding reception, we felt we were bringing the Margate A LOT of weekend business. We wanted just a handful of rooms to be available for early check-in for members of our bridal party so they could access the room before having to go to wedding-related events. Early check-in is available at an extra cost, so it is possible. The Margate would not budge on the fee. We felt our request to have that fee waived for a few rooms - to have just a few available for our bridal party guests - was not outrageous. After all, we were already giving them thousands of dollars and earning them more.
Overall, it was a great place for our wedding and for family and friends to congregate for a weekend of fun. And I can't say enough good things about Nicole and her help!
We had the best experience at the Margate for our wedding. My family was coming in from all over the country and this place had all 3 things we needed and reasonably priced. We chose to do our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception along with having everyone able to stay at one location. Everything we needed and asked for was only a request away. It rained on our wedding day(good luck) and we had to cancel our bonfire. Our wedding coordinator, Beth, didn't even blink an eye, had a plan all worked out so that we could continue on enjoying our evening and keep partying. If anything did go wrong we didn't notice because Beth had everything under control. For a reception of 90-100 this place had the best of everything, great views, great staff, great location, and more.
This is going to be a two part review. The first part is going to be for the wedding planning services and the wedding venue/experience. The second is going to be for the hotel part of the resort.
I got married here last month. We started with one planner who during the middle of my wedding planning stopped working there for one reason or another. We weren't made aware of this until a month of no returned phone calls or e-mails from anyone. Finally we were told we were assigned to a new planner. The new planner was attentive, accommodating, and kind. If we had questions, she had answers. Once we were assigned our new planner, things ran pretty smoothly. But as a bride trying to plan the day of your dreams, to have everything up in the air and not know why for a month or two, is VERY stressful. Fast forward to the wedding. It was absolutely beautiful. The location of The Margate is unbeatable. Our planner was there from sunrise to after sunset that night checking in with us and making sure everything was what we wanted. We had a tented reception outside, and I wouldn't have changed it for anything (even though it poured). The tent kept most of the rain out, and the new drainage system that was installed did a phenomenal job at making sure the grass underneath the tent wasn't wet. Our bonfire that was planned for after the reception was cancelled understandably due to the rain. However, The Margate's tiki bar stayed open just for us until last call. I was so happy when I was told that it would stay open. It was so nice to have everyone be able to hang out more after the wedding, and without the tiki bar staying open, I'm not sure that would have been a possibility. Looking back, I would give everything that had to do with the WEDDING itself a 4 out of 5 stars.
Now onto the hotel part of it. When we toured the hotel, we were only brought to 2 out of the 3 room buildings. The two that we saw we fell in love with. However, a good amount of people who came to our wedding stayed in the building we didn't see because it was $20 cheaper a night. Five couples, that I know of, had to change rooms. There were problems all over the place. One room was flooded, one room had an empty bag of chips in between the fitted sheet and the mattress, one's room AC wasn't working...I could go on and on. When the wedding is a "destination" wedding because both the bride and groom, and all of their families are from out of state, pretty much everyone stays. We had over 40 rooms booked for our wedding, and the fact that so many people had issues with their rooms was terrifying to my husband and I. When people are paying $179 for a hotel room, there should not be any issues. This really made my husband and I upset and caused us a little bit of stress on our wedding day. If I had to give the hotel part of the resort a rating I would give it a 1 out of 5 stars. It was just totally unacceptable.
So averaging everything together I gave The Margate a 3 out of 5 stars. I'd say if you are going to a wedding there, maybe check out a different hotel in the area. If you are looking to having a wedding there, go for it! You won't regret it. But maybe add a room block at a different hotel as well.
I was married out side in the Lakeside Pavilion & had our reception in the out door tent. My wedding planner was Nicoleta, she was awesome. She made our day Perfect, I couldn't be more pleased. The night ended with fireworks. They were better then I imagined. We had the best weather which definitely helped. Our guest talked about the wedding for days, they said it was by far one of the best. The Margate was great. We stayed for 4 days. We enjoyed the lake with the lakeside bar. Our kids loved the indoor pool! There was not a thing I would change. :)
We recently said our vows at The Margate in the Lakeside Pavillion & had our reception in the Mariah Room. We also stayed for a total of 5 days. It was a great stay! Everything you need is at the Margate, The beach bar with food & drinks, the lake & beach, continental breakfast, the pools & gym. We took advantage of all they had to offer & so did our guests who also spent the weekend. The staff was great, Caroline our wedding coordinator took great care of us! Our guests are saying its the most fun they've ever had at a wedding, and the most beautiful outdoor wedding they have ever been to :)
Our son recently got married at the Margate. The grounds and location are fantastic! The pavilion tent for the ceremony was perfect, as was the reception tent. The ceremony and reception were held outside for about 200 people. Many of the guests stayed at the Margate. Our wedding coordinator Caroline did a great job the day before and day of the wedding. Unfortunately, I felt she was overworked and did not have enough assistance on the day of the wedding. When you see her running around setting up tables, running back and forth from the room where we stored place cards, pictures, and other wedding items, you know something is wrong. She should have a team of staff members helping her with the set up. The servers and Caroline were awesome during the reception. Suzanne, one of the servers, was also mopping up the dance floor because of the rain. She was great as well. We used Curt’s Catering and they were fantastic, everyone raved about the food. The location is absolutely fabulous!!
Now the negative… MANAGEMENT!!! Or lack of Management – we were there for 4 days and never once did management meet with us to address our concerns or introduce themselves and ask us how things were going. We requested a satellite bar for beer and wine when we booked 10 months earlier. We found out the Monday before the wedding they wouldn’t do it unless we had 300 people. They assured us that 3 bartenders would be plenty – unfortunately only 2 bartenders were on that day. The line for drinks was embarrassing. Some of our guests waited 20-30 mins. That’s exactly what I didn’t want to happen. We voiced our complaints the day after the wedding and not once did management reach out to us to explain or apologize. Another issue we had … we blocked rooms nine months before the wedding and the ceremony was to start at 3:30 but check-in wasn’t until 4. Does that make sense? Some guests were made to pay an “extra fee” to be able to check in early so they could get ready in time for the wedding. Unacceptable! They need to accommodate more efficiently. There were four weddings that weekend and be aware they only have two bridal suites. Also, if you had a Saturday wedding during the summer, they require a two night minimum, which I can understand but not when you have two weddings on Friday.
The grounds and location are perfect for a wedding but the Margate management needs to make their venue more wedding friendly. I would recommend the venue but need to be aware of the above issues and hope that they become a little more flexible on some simple things.
The best thing about hosting a wedding at the Margate is that everything can be on-site. We stayed 5 days and made a vacation out of it. The beach front cabana bar was a blast! And the view of the lake and mountains when sitting in the Pavilion for the ceremony was amazing! If you like to party, I highly suggest the Beach After-Party. That was definitely something to remember!
The hotel could use some updating but overall is a nice place. We plan on visiting each anniversary.
The Margate was a beautiful location during the affordable winter months! The Mariah room is amazing with the sunset view overlooking the lake! Our guests we happy with the ease of everything....rehearsal, ceremony, reception, hotel rooms, and after party all located conveniently on the resort.
Carolyn was very helpful on the day of our wedding and leading up to the wedding. She provided us constant up to date email contact. She even allowed us to set up the day before since the rooms were not rented.
Definitely the most affordable resort for what you receive! Thank you for making our day special!!!!!
The only negative is: The hotel rooms could use a bit of updating...the bathrooms are a little outdated and worn.
While the view is absolutely gorgeous, and the venue is very nice, the resort could have made things nicer for the bride. We had our ceremony on the pavilion outside. This area was very nice. The issue was getting to the pavilion from the hotel. I had to walk across wet muddy grass to get to the tent. I think at price they charge, the resort could afford to put in a side walk so the bride's heels aren't caked in mud.
When planning, you provide an approximate # of guests and then 1 week prior you give a final count. I suggest you low ball your count. I was 10 guests off and still had to pay for them. You would think that giving a final count is so they don't make too much food. So we paid an extra $260.00 for guests who couldn't come.
As we were walking in to the reception, I threw my bouquet to my friend on the spur of the moment. The employee who assisted us to get to the reception area(I hadn't met her before)went up to my friend and took it from her, stating "that's the bride's" How dare she do that! I was livid!
We did have a wonderful time at the reception in spite of the terrible service, the food was excellent. Curt's Caterers was second to none! Another service problem we had was the bartender. We had an open bar for draft beer only, and noticed everyone was drinking bottled beer. The bartender never informed the guests that the drafts were free. There was no sign on the bar either. Close to the end of the reception the groom had to go around and tell everyone about the drafts. The cost of the keg was ridiculously high, anyway. A complimentary bridal suite if your guests book 15 rooms is not true. They actually mean over 30 room nights. Really 31 room nights then you get the complimentary suite. Hopefully your guests will book 2 nights! To summarize, the service was not great, the food was awesome, the venue was beautiful. Just beware the hidden costs and rules. All in all we had a wonderful day!
I am in the process of planning my Fall 2014 wedding and considered the Margate, as my family lives in Laconia. I made an appointment with one of the Sales Reps on a Sunday at 11am, arrived 10 minutes early, checked in with the receptionist, and waited, and waited, and waited. Forty minutes after my arrival, I checked with the receptionist to make sure that the Sales Rep knew that I was there, only to find out that she was not there. Needless to say, I left without touring the venue and without meeting with a Sales Rep. If they can't even remember my appointment for a tour, I can only imagine what they would forget at someone's wedding.
WEDDING COORDINATORS:
We had our wedding reception at the Margate this summer and experienced incredible customer service from their wedding coordinating staff. Lisa was amazing to work with. She always answered my many emails promptly and with clear answers. She would even follow up with a phone call if she thought the response was too time-sensitive for email. She was extremely knowledgeable, competent, easy-going, and just overall awesome. I truly can not say enough wonderful things about her. She also had a great support staff that helped us with whatever we needed.
FOOD:
When we went to the food tasting for Curt's Caterers, we were actually generally unimpressed with their selection and were slightly disappointed about that aspect of the wedding. We were able to taste a huge variety of their hors d'oeuvres, but very few entree selections were available for us to try, and the Boursin chicken that we had was way too creamy and heavy. The GREAT news is that the dishes that we chose for our buffet (the apple/herb stuffed chicken and bbq steak tips) were great! Many of our guests commented on how much they liked the food was and that they had gone up to the buffet for seconds.
SERVICE:
The service during the reception was also very good. The food at the buffet was promptly replenished, and the wait staff was constantly on the move. We had one staff member (Michelle) assigned to our sweetheart table and she was incredible - constantly asking if we needed anything, quickly bringing us everything we asked for (even something as simple as butter for our bread), and even encouraged us to eat enough, as that can be difficult for the bride & groom.
LOCATION & AMENITIES:
The biggest reason that we chose the Margate is that we wanted a tented outdoor party by the water with a great view, and the West Lawn of the Margate is the most perfect and beautiful spot that fulfilled everything that we wanted out of a lakeside venue. There is even a little strip of beach and a dock that were great photo spots. When we looked at the overall costs of venue, rentals, food and drink it was actually pretty reasonable considering the beautiful location.
As far as the rest of the resort is concerned, there are a lot of other great amenities for guests to use: an indoor pool, a small exercise room, kayaking & swimming in the lake, a gazebo-shaped beach bar on the water next to the dock, and a long row of lounge chairs along the (small) strip of beach. It truly was a great place to hang out with plenty of outdoor space to relax in the sun or shade right by the water.
The only reason that I couldn't rate this place with 5 stars is that the guest rooms were very expensive, but you don't truly get what you pay for with the interior of the rooms. While they are totally sufficient, you really don't feel like you are sleeping in a $200-$250/night room (with a minumum 2-night stay). What you're really paying for is the location and the overall venue.
The Margate is a beautiful setting for a wedding. My wedding coordinator was very prompt and helpful. However, the costs continue to build up there. They really have you stuck when you sign your contract.
1) For a weekend wedding, you MUST have 15 rooms booked for Friday and Saturday night AND all guests must stay 2 nights.
2) Rooms are very expensive. Cheapest option is $200 plus tax and that's across the street from the venue!
3) If you have a cash bar, you have to revenue a certain amount of money, or you must pay a bar set up fee. We were NOT told that one of our bars would only accept cash, so our guests could not buy drinks with cards. We were slammed with a $75 fee before we could even leave the venue.
4) You must use the caterer they are contracted with (Curt's Caterers) which is very expensive and very poor value.
5) If you do not purchase one of Curt's very expensive cakes and want to have someone else make your cake, you must pay a cake cutting fee of almost a dollar per slice!
The Margate tries to squeeze every last cent out of you! Read your contract very carefully!
I had an AMAZING wedding at the Margate Resort. It was the perfect setting for a lakeside wedding. The coordinator Lisa was a big help through all the planning and the day of the wedding she certainly made sure everything ran smoothly. I never felt stressed! Even when it rained during what was supposed to be our bon fire, they opened up the indoor bar for our 100+ guests that had come from out of state. It was a gorgeous setting, and all the guests haven't stopped raving about how beautiful everything was! I highly recommend the Margate!
The Margate was a pleasure to work with, once we got through the intial hurdle of negotiating the cost and other details (when the contract was sent, the cost had increased, and there were other changes made to the location, time, etc.). The Margate's staff were especially friendly and accommodating, and were always available to talk. The wedding went very smoothly, and was absolutely gorgeous! I recommend having your wedding at the Margate, especially since it is so wonderful for all of the guests to have everything take place at the same location (e.g. ceremony, reception, overnight stay, rehearsal dinner).
