Olde Mill Inn & Grain House Restaurant is a historic wedding venue located in Basking Ridge, NJ. The inn is set on 10 acres of charming country estate, offering glorious natural surroundings and an expanse of peaceful scenery. Outdoor gazebos provide a stunning space for ceremonies and wedding photos, while the chef’s cuisine is sure to delight the most discerning palates.
This property dates back to the 18th century when the gristmill and barn were originally built by miller Samuel Lewis. The property was then purchased by reputable restauranter William Childs in 1929, who converted the barn into the inn it is today. During this process, Childs forwent a total renovation and chose to restore the buildings to their early splendor. Today, the venue retains many of its original features to give your wedding day the charm and authenticity of genuine architecture. The venue offers a choice of event spaces for both small celebrations and larger, more grandiose affairs. The Grand Washington Ballroom in the Inn can accommodate up to 240 guests. Decorated with rich draped curtains and elegant chandeliers, this room evokes a luxurious and tasteful air. You and your guests can walk through to the outside courtyard to enjoy a view of the manicured gardens. For more intimate gatherings, couples may prefer to hold their reception in the Grain House. With rustic yet elegant decor, this site boasts a choice of three event rooms, each with its own unique features. Each space offers a passage outside, with private decking, terraces, and atriums, giving you and your loved ones the chance to take in the bountiful beauty of the gardens.
Olde Mill Inn & Grain House Restaurant provides accommodation for you and your guests, with a range of comfortable rooms and sumptuous suites to relax in. This venue also offers PURE rooms to ensure that visitors who may have allergies are as comfortable as possible. Catering for the event will be taken care of by the in-house culinary team, led by celebrated Executive Chef John Benjamin. Couples may avail of items such as linens, napkins, china, and glassware from the venue. To ensure that the day runs as smoothly as possible, this venue can also provide the services of a Maitre D to accommodate the needs of the newlyweds.

Olde Mill they said they could easily accommodate our party size.
As we toured the venue and got to know the space, we immediately saw how much they treat everyone like family and we were blown away by how many things are included in their wedding packages! Seriously, they can print menus, put out table numbers, give you lovely center pieces at no extra cost! And that's just naming a few things.
There are also very flexible. My husband wanted to have an Indian dish as an option for our entree selection and when we reached out to ask if Olde Mill could do that, say they 'absolutely!' And let me tell you, that dish came out so amazing that people at our wedding were saying they wanted to give the chef a Michelin Star for that dish alone. On that note, the food it truly outstanding. I really wanted to focus on food for our wedding and every dish, every cocktail item was incredible.
We really did feel like family by the end of it. Our Maitre'D David Goldsmith, was an absolute rock star with making sure we had everything we needed. Our wedding was truly perfect. We still have family members telling us how amazing it was.

One of the things we loved most about the venue is that there is a hotel right on site, which made everything so convenient for our guests. On the day of the wedding, everything was seamless, and the staff made us feel completely taken care of. The food and drinks were delicious; our guests are still talking about how great everything was. Reda, our maître d’, was incredible. He kept everything on track and made sure we were always taken care of, which let us just enjoy the day without worrying about anything. The venue itself was beautiful, we couldn’t be happier with our choice and would highly recommend the Olde Mill Inn to anyone looking to get married.

ill Inn in 2020 and spent our first New Year’s Eve together as a couple there. We fell in love with its charm, accessibility, and amenities. It was our first, and after our due diligence, only choice for our wedding venue. One of our favorite elements was that everything was on site; we arrived on Friday for our rehearsal and didn’t leave property until Sunday morning when it was all over, so no need for transportation for us or any of our guests if they wished. Our salesperson, Lea, was with us for the whole process and answered every single questions we had promptly and with compassionate and knowledge. We met David, one of the maitre’d, at one of their bridal shows (which are a must-attend as they are incredibly informative, fun, and a great representation of how they run events), and we liked him so much right off the bat that we requested him for our wedding. Thankfully, our request was granted, because we cannot picture our day being as perfect as it was without David! He went above and beyond at every single opportunity. This is because, fundamentally, David is personable, empathetic, and intuitive. David is so easy to communicate and work with. He is thorough, as evidenced by how sufficiently he was able to address all considered and unconsidered needs and concerns. John was our maitre-d and WOW. We had heard amazing things about John and he exceeded any expectations we had. He was communicative, flexible, and beyond helpful for two months leading up to our wedding day to make sure we had every detail perfect. On our wedding day weekend, he was extremely attentive and set everything up perfectly for us. Not to mention how he was running around during cocktail hour making sure me, my husband, and our families, had food and drinks. The Olde Mill Inn is such a well-oiled machine and even for a type A person like me, I was fully able to just let them go and let them do their thing. OMG and the food was absolutely insane!!! Our guests are still raving about the food. Multiple people told us it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding and I have to agree.
We got married in December and it was truly a winter wonderland in there. They have the most beautiful holiday decorations everywhere and having our entire wedding weekend at the Olde Mill Inn was everything we could have dreamed of.

OMI does so much behind the scenes to make sure that everyone has an amazing time, and all of our guests raved about the food. Lea, our sales manager who also graciously took the time to be our day-of coordinator, was incredible as well. She guided us through the entire planning process with patience, expertise, and genuine care. On our wedding day, she was everywhere at once, keeping everything on track without ever feeling intrusive.
John and Lea went above and beyond, helping move countless items and making sure every detail was perfect. The bride’s mom, who was in charge of decorations, said that the design of the day would not have been possible without their incredible help and care. Thanks to their hard work and dedication, we were able to truly relax and enjoy every single moment of our day.

met with Kate, we did a virtual tour and even from afar she made everything so easy to understand and answered all of our questions. We were so confident that this was the place for us that we booked without even visiting. Throughout the entire process, Kate was always so kind, helpful and responsive!
Our maitre d’, Marien, also went above and beyond to make our day exactly what we wanted! She was so responsive and never had any issues with any of our requests! Even with us planning a wedding from out of state, Marien never missed a beat!
On the day of, everything ran so smoothly and it is all because of Marien! Everything was on time and went according to the schedule. It ended up raining on our wedding day so Marien and the team quickly switched our ceremony to inside but everything was so seamless and beautiful that guests thought it was the plan the entire time! We are still receiving compliments from so many of our guests on how amazing and plentiful the food was and how charming the venue is. The planning process was easy and seamless with email access to Kate in sales and our Maitre'd at all times. I never had a question go un-answered. We held our rehearsal dinner at the Grainhouse Restaurant the day before and we loved the "wedding weekend" experience this created. The highly attentive and experienced staff knows exactly what they are doing. I never wanted for anything, and I felt like a royal guest at the Inn. We felt at home throughout the entire process, especially during our stay throughout our wedding weekend. The food was phenomenal, the courtyard was a beautiful ceremony space, and the ballroom was the perfect size / layout for our reception. The Olde Mill Inn also provided unmatched flexibility and accommodations compared to other venues we looked at. For example, we were able to have a welcome event at the Grain House the night before our wedding and a 2-hour afterparty with a bar and additional food after our reception. The hotel rooms were all beautiful and the honeymoon suite was absolutely stunning.
We highly recommend The Olde Mill Inn, as the venue, staff, and overall experience went beyond our wildest dreams for what we hoped our wedding would be.

John was our maître D and he was amazing and professional. He set up and break down all our decor. He checked in on us as were getting ready and reassured us that everything was going as plan. He even made sure we had all our cocktail hour food set up in the Bernard’s suite for our private cocktail hour. He was diligent about checking in on us throughout the night as well.
The food was amazing and far exceeded expectations. We have gotten so many compliments on the food especially the cocktail hour. The Inn is so charming and the accommodations were amazing. Staff- thank you for making our day stress free and memorable.

We were lucky to have John as our maitre d and he made sure everything was taken care of leading up to and on the day of the wedding. John brought us and our parents appetizers and drinks throughout cocktail hour and when it was time to cut the cake, he ran to make sure our parents didn't miss it. We were so fortunate to have him help to make the day wonderful. One of the greatest aspects is the convenience of having the rooms right there on site. It was easy for guests to head to bed after the reception - or after the after party at the Grain House across the parking lot.

My husband and I stayed in the Bernards suite the night before the wedding, that way we had the room for full wedding day and that is actually where the guys got ready and it worked perfectly! We had a cocktail style dinner and had a few little random requests that they accommodated perfectly. The entire staff was welcoming and professional and it was such a cozy winter time wedding. The location is also great because it is right off the highway and easy to access. Their facilities are beautiful, with a unique vibe, layout, and history that leaves an impression on wedding guests. They are an all-in-one package that we found really valuable when planning a wedding. They have a fantastic ceremony location in their courtyard, they are a well-run venue with great food, and the Olde Mill Inn is a convenient hotel for your guests so you won't have to worry about providing shuttle service. Also, the bar at the Grain House is open late for wedding guests looking for an after party.
Their food menu for weddings is full of really unique and delicious options. Their team is also great at making sure the bride and groom get the time and service they need in order to fully enjoy their wedding night, including the food! I've been to weddings where the bride and groom barely ate, but I have to that our maitre'd David and his team for making sure to provide us with every available menu item we had at our wedding, plus plenty of water and drinks.
David really was the MVP of our wedding, making sure our needs were met, interfacing with our vendors when we couldn't, and being open to helping us pull off our more out-of-the-box ideas. His whole team was great. Extra shout out to Gloria for helping pin up the bustle on my wife's dress. We can't thank the whole team enough!

David was super accommodating and helpful during the planning process. The day of - he ran the whole day smoothly and EVERY little detail was planned out and thought of ahead of time. In addition to David, the entire staff was wonderful to work with. I received so many positive comments from my bridal party and guests about the venue and the staff. Not to mention - the hotel accommodation is right there to! No need to stress planning a separate location for hotel or shuttle service to get there. anuary 2024 and took advantage of the summer special discount, which included reduced costs and added perks. From start to finish, the staff at OMI was incredible. I especially want to praise John and Lea, along with the rest of the team, for their attentiveness, availability, and dedication to ensuring every detail of both our wedding and rehearsal dinner was perfect.
One of the standout aspects of our experience was working with our maître d’, John, who began coordinating with us eight weeks before the wedding. Getting to know him (and having him get to know us) made the entire process so much more personal and special. I also highly recommend using OMI’s Preferred Vendors—it made a big difference to work with people familiar with the venue and its processes.
In addition to offering the honeymoon suite for free on the wedding night, OMI provides the bride and groom with a certificate for a complimentary hotel room on their first anniversary—a thoughtful and generous gesture!
Overall, I 100% recommend the Olde Mill Inn. The staff is dedicated, kind, and caring, and they go above and beyond to make your day unforgettable.

He was responsive over the months leading up to our event and provided informed, honest advice about many of the decisions that we were weighing. On the day of, he checked in with us frequently, to help calm our nerves. Throughout the evening, he gathered samples of the food, so that we could focus on spending time with our guests. So many of those guests shared how impressed they were with The Grain House. David and the staff are very good at what they do.

From the moment we met our Maitre'd David, we knew we were in the best of hands. He was friendly, honest, and helpful. Leading up to our wedding he was always available when we had questions, and by the time our wedding day came we had full confidence that it would be a perfect day. David checked on us and kept our schedule timely, making sure we got to enjoy every moment of our special day. We received many comments from our guests about how lovely the hotel staff was too! Overall, the Olde Mill Inn was the perfect venue for our wedding.

Olde Mill Inn, the staff was easy to work with, clear, organized, and communicative. The process was so easy and I felt relaxed and confident throughout the planning period. We got many compliments after the wedding about the food, venue, and organization of the whole day. I chose to have my rehearsal dinner and ceremony at the Grain House and it made planning everything so easy. The prices were also extremely reasonable for everything the package included. I highly recommend this venue and would pick it again in a heartbeat!!

My dad uses adaptive equipment, and everyone at the Olde Mill made sure that he was able to participate in our wedding comfortably and confidently. David arrived early Saturday morning and checked in with us regularly throughout the day. The service was incredible, and the space was absolutely stunning. I didn't have to think about a single thing once the day arrived, and we were truly able to relax and enjoy the day. day with Lea about a year prior and she was very kind, responsive, and helpful. We toured and looked at quotes with many other vendors, and found that The Old Mill Inn offered us so much more “bang for our buck” with food, amenities, and prices. We had a smaller wedding of about 60 people and were able to have the wedding on a weekend where it felt like a priority to staff, which I think was pretty special in comparison to other venues.
We had Reda Abouzeid as our Maitre’ d and we could not have been happier. He was so genuinely nice, thoughtful, and attentive. Both before the wedding and on the day of, I could see the care and attention to detail from Reda in the way everything was set up with precision and thoughtfulness. There were a few issues that popped up and I could see all the ways Reda went out of his way to try to fix it and make it right for us. He really went above and beyond to make it a special time. We highly recommend him and are so very thankful for all his hard work in making our day amazing!

All their preferred vendors were masters of their respective crafts. We hosted the ceremony in the courtyard, reception in the ballroom and farewell brunch in the Grain House. Our guests were raving about the food all night! John was our Maitre d’ and he was the absolute best. He was super responsive in the months leading up to our wedding and was on top of everything day of. Our day went perfectly and without issue all thanks to him. Him and the staff did a great job setting up all of our decor the way we wanted it and they put everything in our room by the end of the night. We didn’t have to do a thing - they completely took care of everything! The venue is also super convenient and has everything you and your guests could need with onsite bridal suites, ceremony, after party and lodging space. We could not have picked a better venue to get married and 1000% recommend this place for any special occasion.

venue was absolutely stunning. There's a beautiful tent and gazebo outside for the ceremony and really pretty rooms for cocktail hour and the reception inside. After working with Lea initially we were then connected with our maitre d' David who was amazing. David was super detailed, knowledgeable, patient, and available to answer any questions every step of the way. Our wedding ran so smoothly and everyone had such a great time and David was no doubt a huge reason why. He even set aside plenty of food for us from cocktail hour so we didn't miss out on any of the wonderful selections. We are super grateful to him for such a wonderful and unforgettable night!

delivered. Right from the start their sales manager Kate was so kind and professional. She got back to me right away after I inquired on the knot was super helpful throughout the entire process. She checked in with me multiple times and answered any and all questions quickly. The grounds are beautiful the hotel is lovely and the staff is warm and on top of everything. It’s such a convenient venue because everything is right there. No need for shuttle service or having to go from one place to another. It was so convenient for us and our guests. We had our rehearsal dinner there and our after wedding brunch there. We had a lot of out of town guests so I wanted to make sure that all of the activities were super easy for my guests to attend. The whole weekend was so relaxing and fun. Leading up to the day was so great too. They offered great recommendations for vendors and lots of advice and tips. They also have a wedding fest which was super fun. It was nice to be able to taste the food before hand. We ended up meeting a great cigar rolling vendor there that made the night extra fun. The accommodations for the bride and groom day of are also so nice. My husband had the Dayton suite to himself and all his friends and family to get ready in and hangout in the day of. I had the bridal lounge right onsite which was so nice and again convenient. I know. I’ve written that word a lot but thats the word that keeps coming to mind when I think about how smoothly the day went. The one thing that I didn’t know I needed until they told me I was going to have one was a Maitre D. We had David and he was FANTASTIC.
So calm and friendly and funny too! He took care of everything the day of. I didn’t need to stress about anything at all. He handled timelines vendors food everything. He also just made me feel so comfortable and relaxed and taken care of in the last months leading up to the big day and the day of. I didn’t feel stressed at all that day. I just felt content and overjoyed the whole day. That was because of this place and the people that work there. I can’t recommend this place enough.

oving the dance floor from outside to inside and taking photos under the tent, the OMI was on top of everything! I might be biased, but it was the best wedding I've ever been to. Everyone keeps raving about the food and the venue, it was a perfect day! John, our Maitre D', was absolutely fantastic and made our vision come to life. We had the Grain House at maximum capacity with 120 guests, so it was a little tight since the dance floor ended up inside, but it was still SO much fun! We would HIGHLY recommend the OMI as your wedding venue and only hope that we can attend one as guests one day!!!

ing they have ever been to. The venue itself was nothing short of magical. We chose to hold both our ceremony and reception at the Old Mill Inn, and it was a fantastic decision. Bonus, we had our Rehearsal Dinner, Welcome party and After party at the Grain House, which was also perfect and so convenient especially for our many out of town guests.
From day one we knew this was our venue. Lea from the sales team was absolutely amazing to work with. She was patient kind professional, and very thorough. When we went to a tasting, I had met David one of the Maitre’D’s I connected with him instantly and was hoping he would be ours. We got lucky and he was assigned to us. Our heartfelt thanks go to the entire team, and especially to David, for making our special day an unforgettable, picture-perfect experience. David set up the reception/ceremony area better than I could’ve envisioned. I allowed him to set everything up and use what he felt was best and not use what he didn’t think would fit the romantic feel that I wanted to project. David truly went above and beyond, and his attention to detail and dedication to ensuring our day was flawless was nothing short of remarkable. He was not just a Matre D; he was an indispensable part of making our wedding day unforgettable. Since the wedding, David has reached out a couple of times after the wedding to check in which shows what a class act he is and this venue is. We also had the pleasure of working with Reda and our rehearsal dinner. He was attentive and amazing as well. THANK YOU to the Olde Mill Inn for giving us the wedding of our dreams! From start to finish, it was an extraordinary experience.

Our guests were blown away by everything, especially the food (and we were, too)! The food was one of the most important things to us and it was better than we could’ve even imagined!!
Marien made our planning process so easy and was so communicative and thorough. She made us feel like family, and took such good care of us the whole time. If you’re planning your wedding here and you’re lucky enough to work with Marien, your day will be nothing short of perfection.

y thanks to everyone at the OldMill Inn and Grain House. They are very responsive, which is crucial when planning a wedding. My grandmother and grandfather had their wedding reception here back in 1957, so I knew I wanted to meet with them to discuss having my wedding there. It was the first and only venue we met with. After going on a tour and discussing the different packages with Lea, I was sold. They take care of your accommodations, catering, bar, cake, tables, chairs, etc. My wedding planning “to-do” list was cut in half! Everyone is so accommodating and they really work with you to make sure your day goes perfectly. So many guests told us how they never experienced wedding food to this level. Everything was DELICIOUS! Better yet, we actually got to eat as the bride and groom. The property itself is gorgeous. John was our Matre d’ and he was the best! He made sure we stayed on time, he ran food from the cocktail hour to me and my husband when we were taking photos, and he coordinated with our vendors so we didn’t have to worry. His efforts did not go unnoticed. Once again I had guests come up to me and tell me how amazing he is. I also had guests reach out after to tell me it was the best wedding they have ever been to. All of our vendors were fantastic but the Old Mill Inn and Grain House really did the bulk of the work to make it an unforgettable experience. The hotel itself was wonderful to stay in, everything was so clean and the breakfast was delicious. I wouldn’t change a thing about my wedding day, everything was perfect and I really have the Old Mill Inn and the Grain House to thank for that. I would recommend the Old Mill Inn and the GrainHouse to anyone planning a wedding. It really is the ONLY choice in my opinion. You will not be disappointed.

ntil we gave John a big hug at the end of the night. My guests were blown away by the amount and quality of the food! John was more than I could ask for in a maitre d'! He took care of us like family, and made the ceremony run smoothly and the reception room look absolutely beautiful. It was the best day! My hairstylist told me she got married at Grain House over 20 years ago, and John was her maitre 'd as well! So he's been doing this awhile! Everything was just perfect, and having the hotel right next door was a huge advantage. Cannot recommend highly enough.
