We had our wedding/wedding night here. It could not possibly have gone better! What a beautiful venue, you hardly need to decorate because the place on its own, both inside and out are stunning. The staff will do everything possible to make the couple happy and have the best day ever! That’s exactly what Janna, Taylor, Ron, and the rest of the staff working our event did. We had the perfect day. If anything went wrong, we didn’t even know about it because Janna was already on top of it. It’s clear that they have been doing events for years because they thought of everything, had a backup plan in case of rain, made everything so easy so we could just have fun and enjoy our wedding. It was incredible, I’d recommend the Pepin mansion to everyone looking for a fabulous event venue! Thank you all for making our day so wonderful.

If the owner would just fire the wedding coordinator then everything would be so much better with this place. She was “fired” after our wedding and somehow is back. Starting to think the owner is in on it all and covering for her. I’m so over the hurt I feel after using this place for my wedding.
Janna,
You single handedly made it an effort to ruin our day.
-Showed up to our wedding and started to get ready and do your makeup in the bathroom.
-did not check on me and my party once before, during, or after ceremony
- you stood by the bar INSIDE with sunglasses during the whole ceremony.
-did not speak or smile at a single person.
- there was ZERO directing for my wedding party and myself EVEN WHEN YOU WERE GIVEN A SPREAD SHEET AND TIMELINE SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE.
-you had a male employee (NOT YOU) get me before I walked down the aisle.
-my ceremony was not how we planned it and you didn’t bother to get my dogs when they were called to come down the aisle to me.
-after the ceremony you came running to us with questions that have been discussed and again a spreadsheet given for
-you had no clue on timelines and yelled at my photographer stating she was doing things wrong, when in fact she was taking over what you were lacking and ran the day for you. BTW Everyone hire @youngheartphoto for your wedding!
I could keep going, because there is so much more that happened. I’m happy to answer any questions for anyone through Facebook (Hannah Enlow Mayberry).
One thing is for sure about this place is that it is crooked and a total waste of time and money. I would not wish this feeling on anyone.
If you want to be disappointed than you should have your event or wedding here 🙃

This wedding unfortunately ended badly. I, the venue owner, arrived just as the wedding h...
ad ended (~10:05pm) to find the 300 person outdoor reception had wound down to 20-30 remaining in the tented/event area and that my Coordinator Janna was essentially barricaded in the Carriage House where the alcohol was stocked for the event. She was shaken and in tears, as when the band and bar was shut down only a few minutes earlier one of the Groom's Men followed her into the Carriage House to retrieve bottles of liquor to continue drinking, when Janna said this was not allowed and he should leave the building the person became intimidating and another Pepin Mansion Staff person had to intervene. Then an older relative apparently interjected and further tried to intimidate and coerce the bar to stay open.
There is a risk of having beer and wine and especially hard liquor at a wedding and we do our best to ensure things do not get out of hand and guests remain safe. I prefer a wedding without alcohol.
I can understand how the Bride saw this as a bad end to the night and their wedding day. The Groom later that night apologized to Janna, and Janna heard many great comments about the wedding from many guests during the day.
Janna was there for the bride from 9am to midnight and was intimidated and nearly assaulted by an inebriated wedding guest. I met with the groom several days later and he admitted all the guests thought it was a great wedding. I understand the bride and groom had some issues... one did strike me as out-of character for Janna stating that "Janna wore sunglasses all day" but Janna tells me she couldn't wear her contacts that day and instead wore her "transition" lens eyeglasses which appeared as dark lens outside. Not the best look, I agree, but is this something that you let destroy the memory of your wedding day.
A 2nd complaint by the bride and groom was that several expected display tables were missing. All tables contracted for were on-site but apparently the floral vendor (the groom’s family business) and the "Ice Cream" vendor grabbed two tables not allocated to them. I'm not saying they didn't need these tables... this happens at weddings and that is why we provide an Event Coordinator (Janna) to make these seemingly smaller decisions so as not to interrupt the Bride and Groom during their Wedding Day preparations. As coordinator Janna made the call to allow the Florist, the mother of the groom's company with $x,000s of arrangements on-site to re-purpose a table as well as the ice-cream vendor, again a vendor contracted directly with the Bride and Groom (i.e., not our contracted vendor that we have authority over).
Making decisions during a wedding is what Janna gets paid for, seemingly minor choices can be very meaningful to our clients, the bride and groom.
I was also at the wedding earlier in the day, it was a beautiful wedding day up until the end, ruined by one or more guests needing one last drink.
We, The Pepin Mansion & Janna, have an excellent overall rating, a beautiful venue and we do our best.

I cannot say enough about this place. I do not even know where to begin. When all of my plans had been canceled the Pepin Mansion and the amazing Ron & Janna swooped in and set me up. We ended up having a wedding I had never imagined. The building is insanely beautiful and romantic. The beds in the rooms are the comfiest I’ve ever slept in. Janna, our wedding coordinator, was an angel sent from above. She handled everything. Got our caterer and DJ lined up just two weeks before our big day. She understood what we wanted and how we wanted it and she made it happen. My new hubby and I have vowed to stay at the Mansion every year on our honeymoon! ❤️

The venue was beautiful and their recommended vendors were amazing. However, their coordinator who is part of the package was not good at all. Communication was less than stellar for the entirety of the year leading up to the wedding. I will admit she got slightly better closer, but then didn't attend the rehearsal dinner so had no idea what was going on. I also suspect she took no notes because she asked me the same questions up until the day of the wedding.
During the wedding she disappeared for long periods and I was only able to find her by sending my MOH. I only saw her 4 times.
There were several other things that happened that I will not comment on because I don't know if there was a miscommunication or a further lack of notes taken, and others I was not present in the room for and cannot comment on, but there was so much drama that I ended my night crying and have felt bad a lot of my honeymoon because of how much time and money I put into that wedding.
We were also pulled into a room for 45m of our reception to talk to the owner with no resolve.
If you want to use this venue I encourage you to do so, but if I did it again I would go with my gut and get my own coordinator.

This venue is all inclusive and amazing. All of their vendors and staff are top notch. We did not have lot lift a finger and were treated as though our happiness was the staffs only priority. We will always recommend this venue and their staff

I stayed here this past weekend for my best friends wedding. Everything with the wedding was perfect. Janna and Cheryl were amazing and went above and beyond for us and they made every last detail perfect. I was in charge of set up while the bride finished hair and makeup but I didnt have to lift a finger thanks to the staff. They did it all.... the DJ, the caterer, table set up and mansion in general was just amazing. You will not go wrong having your wedding here. The bed was comfortable and its so convenient after a night of dancing. Breakfast was delicious too.

The Pepin is beautiful and was the perfect place for our masquerade wedding. Stacy is wonderful and patient (I was super stressed, I’m not good at planning events). In the beginning it was a little confusing because I felt there could have been a little more guidance but once we talked about it, things just started coming together. The house is so very lovely and the staff that worked the wedding was on top of everything. Stacy had everything under control and gracefully maneuvered us through whatever hiccups happened that night with everything going off without a hitch. She is AMAZING! The only bit of advice I would give is to have the older short haired lady with glasses that assists with the breakfast in the morning maybe not have customer interaction as she is very abrupt and not very friendly. She rubbed all the guests and my vendors the wrong way. For us, we joked about her being the “breakfast boss”. But others may not let her shortness and tone go so easily. All in all I definitely give the Pepin ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️. Worth every penny!! It was an amazing event and stay.

My husband and I chose the have our ceremony and reception at the Pepin. It is an absolutely gorgeous venue. Also because we aren't local to the area the wedding coordinator, Stacy, was vital. That was definitely the right choice for us! Stacy made everything smooth and easy. For the most part, all of our vendors were billed through the Pepin, so that took some things off of our plate. Stacy was really open to our ideas and responded to my questions quickly.
It was wonderful to have the place to ourselves while getting ready the day of. We planned to have our ceremony and reception out on the lawn and under a tent in the back if weather permitted and we were so lucky, the day turned out beautiful. But Stacy had a great back up plan for the ballroom inside too!
I'm pretty sure it's all new staff than in some of the past reviews. Our day couldn't have been more perfect.

We were married at The Pepin Mansion last week. I had dreamed of a perfect wedding which was to be a celebration of love with our family and closest friends. I thought it would be easy to put together since it was not a large affair. As I started planning I found that was not the case. So many restrictions on vendors, time limits and space. I came across The Pepin and immediately fell in love with it. It was romantic with a vintage feel. The downstairs has venue space and upstairs are 4 beautiful suites. I started working with Stacy as my wedding coordinator. She is fantastic. She listened to all my ideas and was able to transform them into my dream wedding. I used many of their preferred vendors ( all of them were fantastic!) but I selected my own caterer. They worked well with Mirabelle Gourmet Catering. Stacy handled all the details with Chef Gregiore Guiot and handled the payment. Our wedding day was so relaxing. I had time to visit with our families, had a surprise bridal shower and got ready in the beautiful bridal suite. The ceremony was beautiful, dinner amazing, DJ was perfect for our group and the wedding cake was delicious. We ended our night with guitar music under the stars. The Pepin Mansion was the perfect place for us and exceeded all our expectations. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our every wish. Thank you Ron, Stacy, Erin and all the staff that made our special day unforgettable ❤️

We initially got our wedding price quoted incorrectly by an assistant of the Peppin Mansion (which was fixed by ownership). The whole process was fine even though the harpists left after an hour or so and bartenders started packing up an hour before they were required to ( I had to explain to them we had paid for an extra hour for them to stay). It wasn't until now (18 months after wedding) that I'm writing this review, because today my wife received a phone call from a new member of the staff claiming we owe $150 dollars from that night (for who knows what reason). I called, angrily, to figure out what this is about and magically that $150 dollars is now irrelevant. If you want hard feelings and terrible management on the most memorable night of your life, this is your place!

We always strive to exceed the expectations of our clients, and in this case we had a new ...
employee that mistakenly called Doug thinking there was a balance due on this account. To remedy the situation, we offered Doug and his wife a no charge birthday party for their son at our venue complete with tables, linens, etc. We felt we went above and beyond working to address his frustration over a misplaced phone call. Nothing is more important to us than 100% satisfaction with our events!

Overwhelmed by planning a large wedding I called the Pepin Mansion on a whim and found out it would provide a beaitiful location, a minister, flowers, cake, music, a professional photographer, and a honeymoon suite. I couldn' t believe it. There was not one other place like this in Indiana! I was put in contact with Melinda, their talented wedding planner. All of a sudden getting married became less about the hassles and the wedding and more about our marriage. She is such a professional and so positive she knew exactly what I wanted and even better than what I imagined. The ceremony was held in front of the gorgeous front windows, the unique fresh boquets captured my personality, the delicious Italian Cream cake looked beautiful and tasted delicious especially with the champagne. Plus every moment was captured from the professional photographer with pictures taken in front of the antique water fountain outside or on the stairway made for royalty inside.

We had our wedding and reception at The Pepin Mansion and couldn't have dreamed it would be as amazing as it all was! We had our ceremony on the back lawn in front of the carriage house. It was picturesque. We had dinner inside the mansion. The setup was gorgeous and intimate. Melinda, your own personal wedding coordinator that comes with your package, made it look better than I imagined. It was perfect. We had dancing under the lights outside strung from the trees. I can't say enough good things. Not only was the venue beautiful and so unique, but everything that comes with having a wedding here is priceless. First, Melinda is amazing and will guide you every step of the way. You don't have to worry or stress, or run around on your wedding day. She does it all for you. From picking up our cake for us, to placing the flowers on it, setting up everything, coming to tastings with us, to promptly answering every email and text message i sent her. She's amazing. As the bride and groom, you get to stay in the bridal suite the night of your wedding, and Ron, the owner, was there to cook us breakfast at 6 am before we left for our honeymoon. We rented out the rest of the house for friends and family. They had an excellent stay as well. If you want a low stress wedding planning experience, and a breathtaking wedding with all the extras, I highly recommend The Pepin Mansion! We had a dream wedding, at a price we could afford. Amazing staff, beautiful place. You'll be the wedding everyone can't stop talking about. Intimate, fun, and so unique. Did I mention Melinda is the best wedding planner ever :)

I couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding venue. The owner was very flexible. Melinda did everything from calm my nerves to help with ideas from the time we booked the location. Our wedding was absolutely seamless and that was priceless. I didn't have to worry about anything except enjoying the day and our guests. I look forward to using this venue again for future celebrations, and staying at the Bed and Breakfast (which was included in the package) for special occasions. It truly was extraordinary!

WOW! My husband and I were more than pleased with this venue for our wedding and reception. It was absolutely beautiful and I can't imagine a better venue in the Southern Indiana or Louisville area. The coordinator was always readily available for planning and advice and met with us ABSOLUTELY whenever needed! Our wedding was so beautiful and everything went perfectly. Absolutely no problems the entire day.
I have seen HECTIC wedding days before, and this was far from. How great is a venue where you can get ready in guest rooms, walk downstairs, get married, and across the hall to your reception? It is so low-maintenance.
The photo ops are wonderful and they let you bring our own vendors. Absolutely flexible with everything they do. I brought my own cake, flowers, and photography and they still paid their portion. The options you have with pay one price, get all of this create a hassle-free wedding with the option to still be a controlling bride who knows what they want.
I love the Pepin Mansion and can't imagine having been married anywhere else. The owner has put a lot of work into creating a beautiful venue and bed & breakfast.

I was relatively happy with my wedding reception with Pepin Mansion until about 2 weeks before and 2 days after. The weeks leading up to the event seemed disorganized, with projects that were never resolved . It took a number of requests to even get my final total, and the requests were initiated by me. One would think that an event space owner would want to be paid.
The bartender that Pepin hired was the crux of my frustration during the event. We had purchased brands like Grey Goose, and bought the amount suggested by the bartender/event coordinator. Due to some pretty heavy pouring, we completely ran out of Grey Goose AND rose' prosecco before dinner was over. Even better? Our $40 toasting champagne was LOST, STOLEN, or used in mimosas...because it certainly wasn't anywhere to be found when the grand toasts came about. My attendants quickly ran to the nearest liquor store and bought about $170 in replacements, including toasting champagne.
Pepin does reserve the right to book other events on the day of your reception, which is a policy that they would be well-advised to change. We were only able to set up half of the house's hosting rooms due to a baby shower happening in one half right in the middle of the day. My mom scrambled to set up our cake table in the ballroom when she arrived at the reception during our event hours.
NICKEL AND DIMING. The owner of Pepin decided to ask for $10 in "payment for time spent" for the time it took him to get a replacement tap for our keg. (Who knows if the brewery broke it or the lackluster bartender did it...) My parents literally had to hand him a $10 bill after the reception. The piece-de-resistance was the invoice I received today for a $15 charge for ICE. Ron Smith, the owner of Pepin, invoiced me for ICE (yes, frozen water) because Pepin ran out and he apparently had to physically go get ice for the bar when it ran out. (My caterer was on site, and no one was notified of this during the event.)
Note that Pepin has already collected a 10% catering fee (for hiring an approved caterer) and a $3 per person BYO Liquor Fee. This is more than enough "pure profit" to cover the "ice invoice."
I work closely with brides, as I'm in diamond/fine jewelry sales, so it's unfortunate that I cannot recommend Pepin without reservation. My event was lovely, but the mishandling of the particulars has left a bad taste in my and my parents' mouths.

Turns out we got married on the hottest day of the year and intended on an outdoor wedding. At the last minute a storm rolls in. Our wedding planner and everyone at the mansion quickly moved everything into the parlor with no delay and over 75 quests. We were able to have the reception outside in a covered tent with fans. I was very impressed with their proactive planning and having both places set up and ready for anything. We stayed in the bridal suite and they had a delicious breakfast ready for us the next morning! I would highly recommend the Pepin Mansion!

The mansion is beautiful but if you do not want stress before wedding would not choose this place till they get more organized which I believe they are on there way. Issues were not contacted back sometimes up to a month. Minister had to call me for times on rehersal and wedding not able to get in touch with wedding planner or owner. Also if they tell you they will do something get it in writing and sign will not honor if not. You will be rushed during the wedding. The wedding was beautiful at the mansion just very rushed.
