Well first things first the store is closing and forcing brides to either say goodbye to their dresses/deposits or to pick it up and pay it off. I scheduled my appointment at noon on a Sunday. I paid for a private appointment as I had 7 guests coming with me. I show up and the doors aren’t open. They didn’t end up opening until 1220. Then I walk in and the area is still messy from the appointment the night before. There was still food/drink wrappers in there and confetti from the previous bride.. That kind of threw me off as is because I am someone who is always early places and I am also in the sales industry so I know I would never keep a perspective buyer waiting for me. I will say the dresses I tried on were stunning. Pricey, but stunning. The consultant didn’t find dresses for me at all though, my guests and I were doing the searching. I found my dress, everyone absolutely loved it and I fell in love. It’s so beyond beautiful and flattering. I am so happy with it. BUTTTTT I get a phone call Thursday and they said “I keep hearing rumors that the store will be closing IN NOVEMBER (so two weeks from now) so I am just giving all of the brides a phone call to give them a chance to come pick their dresses up.” First of all this is my wedding, NOT HOMECOMING. I appreciate the heads up but I felt like this was unprofessional and it sent me into a panic. I obviously told them I would be there within the next couple of days to pick up my dress because it’s THE DRESS and I’ve already paid $1000 towards it! Now I have to put the remaining balance of $900 on my credit card as I was making monthly payments on it. This is a HUGE inconvenience for me as now I have to pay somewhere to store my dress because my family and I all have animals that we do not trust around such an expensive dress. I am so beyond upset/mad right now. My appointment was a month ago, there is no way they didn’t know about a possible store closing then if it is already quickly approaching. I should have been made aware of the situation right then so I could decide what I wanted to do, my dress should have been dramatically less. My grandmother called up there as well because she was equally upset. They stated they are not giving me any type of discount for the inconvenience, I didn’t even get a discount for getting the exact dress I tried on. When she spoke to the consultant they pretty much just keep saying they don’t know if it’s closing they just keep hearing rumors that the owner want to open a different location and close that one so she doesn’t want the brides to be screwed over. Again very unprofessional. I am not going to risk losing my dress rumor or not. I feel like if the employee feels the need to call all brides then it must have already been in the works. I just feel very upset with the entire situation and hate that it happened. Which now they’ve confirmed that they are “just moving locations” that’s a bold face lie. If they were just moving locations the brides wouldn’t be being forced to pick up their dresses. THE STORE IS CLOSING AND THE OWNER IS HORRIBLE! For her to have such a lack of emotions with something that is apart of one of the most special days of your life really infuriates me. And I’ll make sure if she ends up “moving locations” my reviews will follow.
I absolutely would not recommend this place to anyone. While I purchased a beautiful dress from this business, the customer service I received after the fact was not worth my time, energy, or money. I purchased a floor model dress (without any discount offered) and a floor model veil that was slightly pulling away from the comb (again, no discount offered). I was told that the dress would be cleaned and the veil would be fixed after I paid off the dress and before I picked it up. I had called a week before my first fitting to confirm this information and was told everything would be taken care of. When I arrived to pick up the dress, there was still a make up stain in the dress and the veil had not been fixed.
I ultimately chose to use a different seamstress for my alterations because I did not feel comfortable with the seamstress they recommended, Because I was not using their seamstress, they refused to have the dress cleaned and fix the veil - even though I was assured on multiple occasion that these things would be taken care of before I picked my dress up for the first fitting. They are quick to take your money and make promises, but ultimately do not follow through after you're wedged in a tough position.
DO NOT COME HERE!
Horrible service, delays after delays and without any answers. No managers are available to answer anything or compensate you for their horrible service. If there is a manager they claim they cannot do anything that their boss has assist but they're of course unreachable and don't return your calls. The store is run by very young employees who are asking each other what to do about everything. Very disappointment, inconvenienced, and no compensation. STAY AWAY!
I bought both my wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses here. Everyone was fabulous! Everyone that I've dealt with has been great through the whole process. Naomi was an absolute delight to deal with!
If I could give a NEGATIVE 5 STAR I WOULD! The owner of the store, Beth refused to even speak to me on the phone and left her young employees to deal with me. They ordered my dress way to big and when I picked it up could clearly see it was and said oh alterations will fix it. A size 7/8 zipped up in the store and was noted on my receipt from their employee and they ordered me an 11/12 and were originally going to order a 14/16 and based on the 7/8 being only too tight in the bust decided to go with the 11/12. When I picked it up and tried it on voiced my concerns about how huge it was they NEVER told me I had seven days to do anything. When taken to my seamstress recently she was floored at how much needed to be altered and that it could alter the entire look of the dress. This store refused to do an even exchange, reorder a smaller size......do absolutely NOTHING. Beth hid behind her phone not even willing to tell me when she would be in the store to address it directly with her! Now I hear horror story after horror story about the same issues with this store. I will be filing a small claims suit to get my money back. All I wanted was a smaller size. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE UNKNOWLEGABLE EMPLOYEES! This is due to the owner!
I went here to find a wedding dress. I had made an appointment prior to going. When I walked in I felt like an inconvenience to the one girl in the store and they called another girl over to help. They barely had any dresses in my size to begin with. I went to Davids bridal and fit the 14's no problem, at the Perfect Dress I fit a size 20. I normally wear a size 10/12 pants. I know dresses run small but that was not exactly the confidence boost you are looking for when trying on dresses. And to have the sales girl be like oh these wont fit you due to my waist size and height saying well most of these are made for smaller girls 5'6" and taller. That makes a bride feel really great about her body.
The sales girl who was supposed to be helping me all she did was hang up the dress on a bar in front of the fitting room which I would later have to fight with to get out of the fitting room. The girl said here are the dresses go ahead and put them on if you need me to clip you in call me. So here I am trying to manage my way in and out of the dress, then having to open the curtain to crawl through the remaining dresses hanging up. Another bride walked in during my appointment looking for a dress which is fine except you instantly could tell the shift in priority. My family was moved off to the side mirror even though we had the larger group. They also hung her dresses up on the same bar as mine, since I am having to put on the dresses, hang up the dresses and replace the dresses on the bar they get mixed up. I was unable to figure out which ones we already tried on so I was flipping through the dresses on the bar to have the sales girl walk up and snap at me saying those are the other brides like I was not allowed to touch them. If she had been doing her job I would not have needed to go through the other brides or if they would have placed them on the other side of her fitting room I would not have needed to crawl through so many dresses. Also to see the back of the dress I was handed a mirror no bigger then a compact makeup mirror to try to see what it looked like. You could tell the girl was being completely fake about the dresses and just trying to make a sale when she actually gave us the time of day.
The quality of the dresses is another issue I had. When I try on a dress that you say you just got in yesterday the beading should not already be falling off. If I am spending over $2000 on a dress I just not be worried about losing pieces off of it during my wedding. Other dresses you could tell need to retired, they had broken zippers, rips in the netting that you would trip over. Not impressive for "designer" gowns.
Fiance purchased her dress through the lay-a-way. Very poor system of keeping track of payments that were made. Good thing we kept track and kept the receipts, because we had to correct them multiple times. Finally just said screw-it and paid it off so we wouldn't have that problem anymore. After the final payment was made they handed my fiance the dress without any cover to put over it. Seriously? We spend over 2,000 on a dress and you want to charge 20 extra dollars for a garment bag? I spend $300 on a suit at Macys and even they give (meaning for free) me garment bag. Take some pride in what you are sending out your door. There are a lot of other places in the area. Find one that takes pride in what they sell from beginning to beyond the end.
The experience of shopping for a wedding dress was great here! The woman helping me in and out of dresses was just as excited as I was! The experience was very pleasurable compared to other shops I had been to.
Upon entering The Perfect Dress with 4 of my bridesmaids we were not greeted with a pleasant hello. The manager is extremely rude and takes a week to respond to a call in regards to a ship date. Her conversational skills are minimal with a rude tone. I do not recommend this store to any bride or prom goer who is looking for a good experience. The Perfect Dress will NOT give you one!
If you would have asked me to review this vendor after ordering my dress, I would have raved about them. The owner's daughter (I believe) was very helpful in assisting me with finding "my" dress. She was friendly and actually allowed me to come in with my friends/family on a night they weren't usually open. However, during the year and a half between ordering my dress, and the wedding, they expanded and moved their bridal section the vacant store next door. They also have a tuxedo and alterations shop down the street. Ever since they expanded, it seems like no one knows what's going on. When I called with a question, I was told I had to call the bridal phone number. When I did that, I got no answer. Had to try back the main location, and found out the bridal store is not open (do they not know their own hours? Why wasn't I told that the first time?) Also, the hours I was given didn't match the hours I found on their site online. When the bridal section moved next door, I noticed a new face who was running that department. She did not impress me. She was a bit snotty, and immature (giggling and messing around with a coworker while I clearly needed assistance with my dress-and I was the only one in there). The worst part of the whole experience was the week before the wedding. I unfortunately had to replace a bridesmaid at the last minute, and the new one was going to take over the old bridesmaid's dress, and pay off the remaining balance. I had called a month previous to this to let them know about the situation. I was told, no problem. When my new bridesmaid tried to pay it off and pick it up, she was told she couldn't, and that the old bridesmaid needed to "relinquish" the dress to her, by writing a letter about the dress and saying she gave permission for someone else to have it. Why was I not informed of this the month before when I called?? So, a week from my wedding and my bridesmaid didn't have a dress and couldnt get the alterations she needed. The old bridesmaid lived out of state but faxed over what they needed the same day. She tried 3 times and it never went through. Their fax number is also their main phone number! How ridiculous! That explains the times I've called and heard fax noises instead of a voice! What business does that? Since the fax didn't work, the old bridesmaid tried scanning and emailing the letter. Shocker- the email bounced back. She had to call them again. They had given her the wrong email address. One girl told her @yahoo.com, another said sbcglobal.net ... how do the employees not know this information? When the bridesmaid called to confirm that they received the second email, she was told that they were busy and would check when they had a chance. They closed that day and never called her back. SHE had to call back in the morning, just to get an answer. They didn't seem to have any sense of urgency, even though they knew my wedding was a week away. When the new bridesmaid was finally able to pick up the dress, she was told that they couldn't steam/press it, unless she wanted to wait a few days. So she picked up a wrinkly dress. I was in disbelief through this whole ordeal. It was like they just didn't care, and didn't communicate. While this shop has gorgeous dresses at affordable prices, their customer service is terrible. I would not recommend them to a bride.
loved my dress, too many young girls working there that dont know what they are doing. I got my dress off the rack, and it was never cleaned before given to me.
Things here were ok.... My wedding dress experience with this shop went amazing, however, my bridesmaids dresses and my mothers dress was not as great of an experience. Still would use this shop again, the girls were very nice!
depending on the staff you work with you will have a very different experience here. staff seems young and inexeperienced working with brides, probably better with highschoolers. the girl my appointment was with was not even there when i showed up, luckily the girl that ended up working with me was great. the store hours aren't very convenient and tend to be inconsistent. When i had my alterations done i had to carry my dress halfway down the block to another building where their alterations were. When i brought my dress home I'm glad i brought my own garment bag that from a previous dress, because it was just covered in a cellophane-type plastic bag.
I found the perfect dress for me here.
I originally worked with the daughter of the owner (I can’t remember her name).
She was wonderful.
The only complaint I had wasn’t with the actual dress shop but the dress maker (Allure)
I had French buttons all the way down the dress and one was missing when I got the dress.
They couldn’t do anything for me unless I wanted to pay money to get a button shipped from the factory which was located in Australia.
They could have included extra buttons with the dress. I mean this wasn’t a $100 dress or anything..
Otherwise I had a great experience!
Found a great dress on sale. Perfect for a beach wedding.
I did not buy my wedding dress at the Perfect Dress, but I took it there for alterations and I bought my undergarments and flower girl's dress there. I also took my step-daughter's dress there for alterations. The main seamstress barely speaks English, but I think that's pretty standard. We did have to have her re-do the veil once, but she did a nice job on the rest.
We did have some issues with our appointments, however. The store seems to be run by high school students for the most part, and we got the attitude that goes along with that when we had a small issue with a botched appointment (we asked for the seamstress to be there and she wasn't). Other than that, I liked it, especially because it is a small business in my home town. They did seem to have a good selection of bridal gowns and they looked gorgeous.
The people at the Perfect Dress were awesome to work with. They are very helpful and have great products to pick from.
