We originally loved this venue - the ceremony space is gorgeous and the reception space is beautiful and plentiful. Cammi is very knowledgeable and very helpful. ThaT being said, after our meeting and your Cammi said it would be about a week before she would get back to us with 2019 pricing - she never did. We eventually emailed her three separate times and left a voicemail over the course of the following week to try and book a wedding ceremony as our wedding is large and we needed to book a space large enough to hold that many people and nothing. No response. We were booked another reception space because we had not yet heard back. Hoping we could still at least book for a ceremony since we hadn’t heard back. One last ditch effort to contact Cammi pleading for a response. She finally responds with, they only book ceremony AND reception. Well... that would have been nice to know A WEEK AGO BEFORE WE BOOKED ANOTHER SITE. Additionally, when we met with her originally our wedding date was available as were rooms - once she responded to our “please respond as we are getting stressed that we haven’t heard,” she stated we could only book if we booked both. When I explained that that was not an option she promptly responded with, “actually our rooms are booked for the 22nd” which was not the case until we were not able to book a ceremony and reception. Huge disappointment.
We had our wedding and reception here in mid-July and it was beyond perfect. Everyone was SO accommodating. Cammie Gast, the event coordinator, was so great to work with . All of our bartenders and servers and the Captain Cameron, who set up our event, were all amazing. We had our ceremony outside and our event in one of the banquet rooms and we were so pleased- we also had many family and friends stay at the hotel- they gave us a block of rooms at a discount and everyone had a great time! I can't recommend this place any higher. We will have great memories of our wedding here for years to come.
We had our wedding at The Riverside on October 1, 2016. We had our ceremony out in the Rose Garden and had our reception in their banquet hall. The hotel catered for us, housed us as well as our guests, and provided set up and take down for us.
Our wedding was such an amazing experience and the Catering Sales Manager, Camelyn Gast, was the absolute best thing – and not just because she gave us a dozen cookies every time we met with her (my husband’s favorite part). Ever since our first meeting with her we knew we would be well taken care of. She helped us through everything and promised that they would be able to handle our outrageous friends and family and our guest list of about 350 (about 250 ended up attending). She was candid with us and felt more like a friend helping us plan our wedding than a coordinator. I would go back to The Riverside just to hang out with her again, and my husband and I might just do that one day; also he wants more of those cookies.
Through our ridiculous amount of alcohol we purchased, one live hip-hop performance, and a couple hundred loud and crazy guests, everything went smoothly. Camelyn (Cami) was there for about 12 hours the day of my wedding. She showed up at my request to help with our ceremony rehearsal, coordinated the ceremony with my photographer, and stayed for a long portion of the night at my reception. I only wish she could have had a drink with us! The kitchen staff made food that was out of this world. My friends and family are still talking about our amazing menu. Also, since I don’t eat meat, only seafood, the kitchen staff made me a plate of shrimp to go with my tortellini. It was heaven.
I basically handed them all of my decorations and they put them up for me. When we got to our room the night before the wedding we had champagne and strawberries waiting. When we got back to our room after the wedding, the kitchen staff had boxed up some food for us to eat in our room. Many of the front desk staff, kitchen staff, and bartenders were amazing. It was so nice getting married at a venue that offered so many amenities – it really felt like a lot of the planning was done for me. They provided my ceremony location, reception location, alcohol, food, tables and chairs, set up, take down, linens, lodging, and coordination.
Cami, as well as a lot of the staff, really went above and beyond for my husband and I. Our wedding was the most fun and so much of that is due to the help from Cami and The Riverside. Thanks again for such an amazing experience!
