We had our wedding at The Stowehof and it was an absolute dream!! We had a wedding with only 16 guests - by the time the week was over, everyone felt like family with the staff at The Stowehof. They were so attentive and made sure our special day went perfectly. Alyssa was pleasure to work with throughout our planning process. Even though it was a small wedding, she was so attentive and responsive. The Stowehof was so organized that we were able to really relax and enjoy our special day. They worked so well with our vendors too! When some of their preferred vendors weren't available for our date, The Stowehof was accommodable to let us use other vendors. It all came together perfectly. Our families LOVED their stay as well!! The Stowehof was so welcoming that everyone felt right at home. We can't say enough about how perfect this place is! We can't wait to go back for our anniversaries!!
I can’t say enough great things about our experience with Alyssa and the Stowehof! My husband and I have been coming up to Stowe for years and knew we wanted to get married up there (we’re from MA). We looked at a few venues and the Stowehof stood out immediately and just felt so special. Molly at the front desk was AWESOME and though we didn’t get to meet Alyssa the wedding coordinator that day - after just talking with Molly who has been at the Stowehof for years - we knew right away this was where we wanted to have our wedding. We loved that our guests could all stay on the property and be together. Because of COVID we had to adjust our plans this year but Alyssa and Melissa were SO accommodating and flexible and worked really closely with us to make sure our weekend was still perfect. It was honestly better than I ever imagined and we had the most perfect, intimate wedding. Originally we were going to get married at the Stowehof, but because our wedding was a lot different and smaller than originally planned, we were able to have the ceremony on Mt Mansfield and then dinner at the Hof. The entire weekend was so fun because our group of 26 was able to hang out near the honeymoon suite (which is INCREDIBLE, beautiful and spacious with a huge outdoor deck) and feel like we had our own little private area of the hotel. They also were super accommodating as we were trying to save on our budget this year and allowed us to bring our own tent and set it up (luckily we have some amazing friends who know how to do that). Kyle the chef is AMAZING and his food is sooo good - all of our guests were obsessed. Dave the bar manager was super sweet as well and all of the staff are so professional and made our wedding so special. As we were traveling from MA, all of our guests tested negative for COVID prior to coming up to Stowe which really made a huge difference and helped everyone to have fun while being safe. I can’t say thank you enough to Alyssa who is so responsive, professional and so sweet- she really is awesome and went above and beyond for us. If you are considering the Stowehof for your wedding I would 1000% recommend!!! We can’t wait to come back and celebrate with our all of our family and friends next summer!!
Such a beautiful setting for the most important day of our lives. Highly recommend
I got married here in August 2016 and couldn't have expected a better place. This was before the Stowehof transferred ownership, so many of my pictures and experiences were before the new management. When my husband and I walked into the Stowehof, we immediately assumed we would not be able to afford a wedding here. Their suites are unique and individually wonderful and each of them had their own vintage charm. We were pleased with all the different spaces the Stowehof had to offer: poolside cocktails, downstairs pub, dinner in the restaurant, tent for dancing, a beautiful mountainside space for the ceremony and a place for both of our families to stay for the weekend. Our guests were enchanted with the vibe and the sweeping mountain views.
Molly was the innkeeper at the time and quickly developed a relationship with my husband and I. When we stayed over for the weekend for our wedding tasting, Molly made it a point to be there and walk us through some expectations and even grilled marshmallows with us. On my wedding day, Molly ensured that everything was perfect for me and even tended to small errands to ensure that our day was smooth.
There were a few hiccups in the process - I booked the venue during the transition between management teams, so there were a few occasions that I had to reach out several times to get a response regarding a question. However, every time I talked to Molly, I usually got a response within 24 hours. We also had a wonderful time at our wedding tasting and met a server that we were told would tend to us the day of the wedding. Not only was she not present, but there was no server that tended to us at all during the wedding. We had no chance to eat any of our cocktails and in order to get drinks or anything to eat, we had to leave our photographing location to find someone to feed us. Ultimately, however, we had the time of our lives and our guests confirm the place was enchanting. I would absolutely recommend this for your wedding!
If you are thinking of having your wedding in Stowe, do yourself a favor and book the Stowehof for your venue! Our main reasons selecting the Stowehof were the breathtaking views, character and privacy of the Inn, and the wedding coordinator, Saunie Sirch. I'll start with the views, I believe you can get some fantastic views from a lot of places in Stowe, but none that will serve as the most beautiful backdrop for a wedding than the Stowehof. Not only are the views amazing, but the entire grounds of the Stowehof are lush and well taken care of. We had a little over 50 guests at our wedding, so we loved the fact that our guests were given booking priority for our wedding weekend up until a few months before the wedding. The Inn was basically just our wedding party. Also, for our wedding, other guests staying there were not allowed to use the pool or the bar during our wedding! It made our weekend so special and intimate. All of guests LOVED their stay at the Stowehof consistently saying how charming the Stowehof is. Finally, Saunie was the absolute BEST to work with. We live out of state, but thanks to Saunie, I never felt stressed out over the details because she was on top of everything. The entire staff at the Stowehof exceeded my expectations. Molly and Karen at the front desk were ALWAYS courteous and helpful while our guests were booking rooms and during their visit at the Inn. Erica and her team (especially the bartendars) made sure all of our guests were always well taken care of! Oh and did I mention, the Stowehof offers an awesome country breakfast every morning for FREE! Thanks to the Stowehof, our wedding was the BEST day of our lives! I highly recommend having your wedding at the Stowehof!
Weddings are never perfect, no matter how on top of things you are there are some things that are just out of control. That is exactly why you need someone like Saunie Sirch. Saunie is the wedding coordinator at the Stowehof and she is absolutely phenomenal! She truly cared about taking what we envisioned for our wedding and making it a reality (no matter how many time that vision changed). At no point leading up to our wedding did I ever feel as though I was just another client. She created an experience for me that was so personal and special and I will never forget it!
While the planning itself with help from Saunie was exceptional, nothing would prepare me for our wedding weekend. It was and still is the most magical, intimate, and fun weekend of my (and my husbands) life. Saunie helped us to plan a few non traditional things that were more our style- welcome bonfire the night before with an outdoor pizza oven (the most delicious I've ever tasted!) and Von Trapp Beer and wine for our guests. It was a huge hit and really set the tone for our weekend. We had a smaller wedding, about 100 guests and we had the whole inn to ourselves, which really made the experience what it was- convenient, carefree, intimate, and exceptionally fun! It was so nice that the only people we were coming into contact with the whole weekend were our guests!
Saunie also worked with us to do something that they had never done before at Stowehof. We had an evening wedding and the scenery was so beautiful that I was completely against a tent. Not having a tent, however can be just too risky in the mountains where the weather can be unpredictable. Together we found a clear tent with beautiful string cafe lights where we could still dance underneath the stars for our first dance. It was absolutely magical! The ambiance it created with the lighting and the stars was more perfect than I could have expected!
While the over all experience was fantastic, and everyone at our wedding still says it's the best wedding they have ever been to, what is even more special to me is the bond that we have created with the staff and the second home we have found at Stowehof. As I write this we are driving up to Stowehof to check in with Molly, grab a drink at Coslin pub with Saunie and see the wonderful bar and serving staff from our wedding. The are a part of our lives now, and continue to make every visit magical. They are the type of family that will set up a romantic dinner for two for your one year anniversary and at the end comp the entire meal. They are the type of people who will continue to care about you and treat you like a member of the Stowehof family each time you return. And we plan on returning often! If you choose Stowehof for your wedding you will have much more than the wedding of your dreams, you will forever have a little oasis where you can go to remenisce and be with family.
Truly amazing place! My husband and I got married here on August 1st 2015-I recommend it to anyone and everyone looking for the perfect wedding venue. Saunie and her team are truly incredible. Saunie thinks of everything and does such a great job of making you feel comfortable and special every step of the way leading up to your special day. Jackie is a member of her team who is always near by on your day-making sure you always have what you need-from a margarita in your hand, a bite to eat or your veil put somewhere safe. I wish I could remember the bartenders names-they were wonderful! We got so many times compliments from friends and family members about how wonderful the staff are. We can't leave out Molly-she works wonders at making sure everyone gets a room they are happy with and has such an incredible personality. We loved the set up of the hotel, the joint balcony added to the fun. It was really great watching everyone playing volleyball and swimming in the pool as we got ready in the bridal suite. I 100% recommend the bonfire the night before the wedding-a lot of our most memorable moments are from everyone hanging out the night before. The inn itself has SO much character. The views as we got married were simply breath taking. I just cannot say enough about my experience with the Stowehof inn.
We highly recommend the Stowehoff Inn in Stowe, VT. The moment we stepped onto the grounds we knew it was our venue. The entire planning process was easy and stress free with the wedding coordinator, Saunie Sirch's help! She was very organized and kept us on schedule for planning/budgeting purposes. She also recommended our other vendors, which we also LOVED-Justice of the peace (Greg Trulson), salon (Salon Salon, Stowe, VT) and photographer (Spencer Leonard). We reserved the entire Inn for our wedding weekend which made for a lot of fun! The rooms are very unique with beautiful views, and the staff was accommodating for extra beds/cots whatever we needed to make sure all of our guests were comfortable. Our guests, to this day-which is over 1 year later- cannot stop talking about how wonderful their stay was at the Stowehof-our guests traveled from many states and Australia and all of them say they cannot wait to go back! The food was INCREDIBLE. The grounds were immaculate, which made for amazing photos, and the entire staff was wonderful. We really connected with the entire staff during this whole process and they all went out of their way to make sure everything was how we wanted it. We went back on our 1 year anniversary and felt like we were visiting family. The Stowehof holds a very special place in our hearts and we hope that you take time on your venue hunt to stop in and check it out. We promise you won't be disappointed.

Not only did our guests love the venue, even in the pouring rain, the staff and wedding planner Saunie never made me feel worried about making the day special since we needed to have the whole thing in the tent. We basically had the run of the Inn for the whole weekend and we never felt like there were "rules and regulations", that made the weekend so much more fun and memorable for everyone. The grounds were just stunning in the fall and the Inn cozy and welcoming.
The Stowehof is absolutely STUNNING! The antique charm of the building, the pool, ponds & dining room, all nestled in gorgeous mountain views. I fell in love the moment I arrived after having looked at over 50 venues before choosing the Stowehof. One of the greatest perks is having Saunie (the most amazing & dedicated wedding coordinator) to help everything run smoothly. She is very friendly & able to manage a lot (I was a huge DIY bride with a lot of small details) all with a smile on her face. I cannot rave about her abilities enough! It was a pleasure to work with her! Jackie, our personal server made sure the bridal party was taken care of during cocktail hour & dinner. We were very impressed with her abilities. She was exceptionally friendly & always there with another drink or snack. Karen, part of front desk staff, was so helpful! She was kind & eager to help out. It was a pleasure working with her. However, when we arrived on Friday, many of our guests were disappointed they couldn’t get early check-in for our welcome (rehearsal) dinner that started at 3 for bridal party & 4 for everyone else. We rented most of the inn between all our guests & opened rehearsal to everyone, bringing in more money to the inn as the bbq was $35 per person. It would’ve been nice to have the rooms ready. Molly, also at the front desk & while she was never outright rude to me, I had over 10 guests complain about how she treated them. Overall, we had the absolute BEST time & I’m beyond happy we chose this venue; it was truly a perfect day. I felt supported by Saunie throughout the entire process & she saved the day with the flowers, when the bouquet showed up the wrong colors. I don’t know how she’s able to do it all, but the entire night went smoothly, the on-site ceremony was beautiful, the bar staff was good, the food was excellent, & everyone raved about how GREAT everything was! I highly recommend having your wedding here, you will not be disappointed!
Words cannot describe how perfect our wedding at the Stowehof was. After looking at venues in New York, where I am from, we felt discouraged. Prices were outrageous, and every venue is a wedding factory. So my fiance and I started looking at destination wedding venues in VT. After visiting quite a number of venues, Stowehof was last on our list. I thought Stowehof was out of price range (more on this later) so we almost decided not to visit at all. We drove up and walked up, and I felt pretty bleh about it. But when we walked through the bar and outside to the lawn, my now-husband and I were immediately floored. It was beautiful, quirky, and ours.
Stowehof is perfect for couples who are looking for a casual and outdoorsy vibe. If you are looking for a destination wedding (as ours basically was), the inn has 40-something rooms and there are plenty more inns right down the road. It is a close drive to Burlington airport, so it's easy for guests. You can do your ceremony outside or inside, but either way, you are guaranteed beautiful scenery and an amazing event. Our friends loved sipping drinks while playing lawn sports. The older guests loved exploring VT and enjoying the scenery. Everybody loved the quirky features of the Stowehof, including throw pillows with puns ("Don't be a boar.") The pub was perfect for afterparties, so Grandpa didn't have to be kept awake by loud music. We brought Ben and Jerry's in to scoop cones on Friday night which was a huge hit with our guests.
On budget- there's huggeeee variation in the type of event you can throw at the Stowehof. We capped our guest list at 110 so that we could throw it at Emily's Restaurant (the restaurant at the inn), saving $7000 in tent fees. There's large variation in how much booze you serve when, what type of booze, and what type of food. The staff is super flexible and actually helps you try to save costs. They never make you feel bad where you are trying to reduce costs- always supportive.
Finally- the service. As you may have read from the other reviews, Saunie, who basically comes "free" when you book the venue, is like a magical, fantastic wedding fairy. Arrive your wedding weekend and she will take over everything- and do it perfectly while ALSO making friends with your parents. I cannot say enough positive things about Saunie. The rest of the staff- Molly, Jackie, Dana, and everyone else, are just so helpful, cheerful, and accommodating.
Who shouldn't get married at the Stowehof? People who are looking for a very upscale (Plaza-esque) experience, people who don't appreciate puns, people who don't like wallpaper, people who don't like board games, people who are excepting Per Se quality food (though the food was very good).
I was never a little girl who dreamed of my wedding, until I had it at the Stowehof and now I will forever dream of it. For any bride who is looking for a calm but stunning setting and a space that is amazing and versatile, go check out the Stowehof. It may just be the place for you.
We just had our wedding at the Stowehof on 9/14, and could not have asked for it to go smoother, be more beautiful or feel more catered to! The Stowehof itself is this unique, old style Swiss ski lodge with the most amazing views of those Green Mountains! We had our ceremony on the lawn overlooking the mountains, then the cocktail hour around the pool, followed by the reception in a tent on the lawn, and even had an after party in the Pub there!Every bit of it was perfect! Saunie, the wedding planner, is worth more than anything! She is very calm, relaxed and friendly, as well as very good at her job!Her help is priceless, especially on the actual day of the wedding. Guests actually commented to us that they didn't think she was the coordinator because she was just too calm! We stayed in room 18, not the bridal suite, and the newly renovated bathroom is worth every penny! There are literally 6 shower heads! We loved having (most of) our guests be able to stay right there, and had the pleasure of being able to see everyone off the next day. Also, since the Stowehof is smaller, and not a big corporate hotel, you really feel like the place is yours for the weekend! The staff, from front desk Molly, to the "at your beck and call on your wedding day" Jackie, are incredible! You really do get to know them, and it makes your day so much more special. I couldn't say enough about the Stowehof and our awesome wedding, we were so sad to leave, and we can't wait to go back to visit!
Our wedding took place on May 25, 2013. The weather--which is normally lovely, late Spring warmth and sunshine--went crazy, and was FREEZING and raining. In other venues, this could have been a terrible situation.
NOT AT THE STOWEHOF. Saunie, the wedding coordinator, is an absolutely amazing person and coordinator. She did not blink an eye, and just completed re-arranged all of our plans and created the most beautiful and loving event... no one even commented on the rain and crazy weather.
We planned a 3 day destination event at the Stowehof-- we all showed up on Thursday, had our rehearsal dinner and welcome party on Friday, and our wedding on Saturday. Every event was absolute perfection, and we do not have ONE SINGLE COMPLAINT about this venue, Saunie and her staff. The entire staff went out of their way to make sure that every single detail was executed perfectly. During our wedding, the waitstaff kept seeking my husband and I out to make sure that we had everything we needed--our glasses were never empty and they brought us appetizers while taking photos away from cocktail hour. They even put 2 slices of cake in our room so that we could have cake together before we went to sleep! :)
Saunie herself is incredible to work with. She responds to emails and phone calls immediately, she accommodates almost any request you make, and she gets excited and caught up in the emotions of the day right along with you. It is rare to find a wedding coordinator who makes you feel like the only bride having her wedding at a venue. Saunie is the exception.
Rain or shine, the Stowehof is a unique, cozy, warm, lovely wedding experience. I recommend doing a weekend wedding there to get the full experience of gathering with your friends and family for a time you will never forget.
To repeat, THE STOWEHOF INN IS THE BEST, and if you get married somewhere else, you are seriously missing out.
If you want a memorable venue, with dedicated and kind staff, great food and wonderful planing support - you should certainly consider the Stowehof. We planned a destination wedding at the Stowehof with guests flying in from western canada, the UK, Sweden and Australia - and everyone was very happy with the service and the atmosphere at the Stowehof. Saunie, the wedding coordinator, is simply amazing. She was able to pull together some small details we hadn't quite covered she and made the whole weekend (not only the ceremony and reception) flow so smoothly and made me feel very calm.
The entire staff are wonderful as well. They made a genuine but noticeable effort to make the guests feel at home and create the 'vision' we had. A week after the event, guests are still raving about the venue, suggesting we do a anniversary party - and we're actually considering it! Thank you to the Stowehof for making our wedding such a success!
We couldn't be happier with our beautiful wedding at the Stowehof Inn! Saunie, the wedding coordinator, was amazing. We planned the event from out-of-town, and Saunie was wonderful to work with - helping us to coordinate local vendors for cake, flowers, music, photos, etc. This was SO helpful, since we weren't in town very much. We had our ceremony at the church in the village, and the reception at The Stowehof Inn. It was picture perfect - just what every girl dreams of! All of our guests had a wonderful time, and I've heard nothing but complements about the event and the location. Our cocktails were outside at the pool, the dinner was inside, and our evening was back outside. Our guests lingered until late in the night at Coslin's Pub and outside by the pool. It was the hottest day of the year in Vermont, so being inside for dinner was actually welcome relief. Beware, a few rooms are not air-conditioned, but all of our out-of-town guests were accommodated with A/C that week and it worked out fine. It's probably rarely an issue, but that week was unseasonably sweltering for Vermont. We would do it again, and plan to celebrate our anniversaries and other special occasions at the Stowehof !
We couldn't have asked for a better venue for our October wedding! Although I grew up locally, we planned the wedding from our current location in Hawaii. To add to distance troubles, with the Groom, being English, half of our guests were traveling in from abroad. Despite distance woes, we found the staff (especially Saunie) to be excellent; accommodating, prompt and thorough with responses, and always courteous. Saunie provided us with recommendations for vendors and was also happy to work with others who we selected. Stowehof even let us do our tasting dinner (a Greek inspired menu we specially created with them) the day after Christmas as it was the only time we would be in town! They made planning a long distance, “destination” wedding easy.
The day itself was perfect, despite less than cooperative weather. Saunie and her staff made the inn look fabulous, romantic and cozy, so we did not even miss not being outside. Our guests raved about the food and the overall accommodations. We enjoyed ourselves well into the night with late night snacks and drinks in Coslin's pub.
We are looking forward to going back to Stowehof to celebrate many anniversaries!
Our wedding at the Stowehof was a true fairy tale. The location is eloquent and refreshing. The whole wedding was uniquely catered to all of our interests. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. My guests who stayed at the inn had a really wonderful visit. Saunie, the wedding coordinator, is professional, poised, and made our day flawless.
The Stowehof is a very family friendly venue with a lot to do on premises. They can accommodate everything from the rehearsal dinner to the ceremony and reception. There are enough rooms so most guests for a 100-120 person wedding can stay with no worries of driving after the event. The wedding coordinator is extremely helpful and made sure all the last minute details were in place. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Every room is unique. Some rooms might be pricey, but considering it's Stowe, the traditional rooms are reasonable. The pinnacle bridal suite is amazing. The food was delicious, for our ceremony we had the Beef Wellington, Salmon, and Mushroom ravioli, which were big hits. The rehearsal dinner BBQ was fun and the food was OK (I'm a vegetarian and Boca burgers are not my favorite, I hear the meat was good though). They provided an after rehearsal bonfire which was a lot of fun.
The venue is flexible with alcohol options and set-up/tear down time.
Overall, the Stowehof is a great place and you have the freedom to design a great wedding.
We decided to have a tent rather than be inside (in their dining room) on a beautiful summer day. The tent was really nice and the wedding coordinator made all of the arrangements.
