The Washington at Historic Yellow Springs is a wedding venue located in Chester Springs, PA. Adjacent to this event space is two separate lounge areas that can be used by both wedding parties to get ready and relax before the ceremony. Upon booking your wedding at this venue, their events staff will be on-hand to make sure that everything runs smoothly. You can make avail of an array of rental items and decor to help transform your chosen celebration areas. The site’s main room is air-conditioned and comes with lighting fixtures that can be used throughout the day. Couples are welcome to work with outside vendors to bring their dream day to life at The Washington at Historic Yellow Springs.

My spouse and I immediately fell in love with the grounds (and particularly the bridal suite and indoor ceremony space!) for our winter wedding. People still remark to us how pretty the venue is! The Washington at Historic Yellow Springs is very lucky in its Venue Manager Cait. She’s deeply knowledgeable and helpful on weddings and this special venue! As a disabled bride, with complex family relationships, and a DIY-heavy wedding, Cait answered my gazillion questions the months leading up to the wedding, co-facilitated the rehearsal and helped make our ceremony run smoothly, making the day of a dream. I’d recommend her and this venue 15 times out of 10 :)

I was recommended this venue by a friend, and The Washington was absolutely perfect for our wedding in every way. Cait, the wedding coordinator, gave us a comprehensive, detailed, thoughtful tour of the venue and we were sold right away. The venue was responsive, professional, and had beautiful elegance with its garden & flower atmosphere. I’m not sure if our day could have gone any better logistically thanks to the responsiveness, professionalism, and friendly communication from the Washington staff. I HIGHLY recommend this venue for your wedding!

The Washington at historic yellow springs was absolutely beautiful. When my husband and I toured the venue we fell in love with the outdoors and historic at the Washington. We planned on getting married at the tree (the one of the three ceremony location options). Flash forward to the wedding day and we ended up being inside for our ceremony due to the weather. This was originally a bummer for me because the grounds are absolutely gorgeous, BUT Cait (coordinator at the Washington) and her team switched everything to inside last minute and made it look effortlessly. It was still absolutely gorgeous. Honestly, dare I say I am so glad it ended up being inside?! The pictures turned out gorgeous and their inside option was still just as pretty! We absolutely LOVED the Washington and the history behind it. All night we had people coming up to us complimenting the venue and how cool it was! I truly cannot say enough great things about this venue! Cait made our day absolutely beautiful! She was so easy to work with and she really made sure our vision came true. If you’re thinking about booking, I say DO IT! I promise you will not regret it one bit. My husband and I had the best experience here and I know future brides will too. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

The Washington is my all time FAVORITE venue!! I am the owner and lead coordinator of my business, Beyond Blissful Events. I've been to many venues over the years, and of them all, The Washington is truly the best. The property is gorgeous and lush with gardens- no matter where you step it is photo worthy! All four options for the ceremony space are all stunning. Even on a rainy day it's still so beautiful there and some of cocktail hour can be outside because. of the covered patio! On top of all the beauty, Caitlyn, the venue manager is a dream to work with! She is so attentive to all of her couples and works so well with outside planners and other vendors. She goes above and beyond to ensure that the day exceeds the couple's vision, and it's very apparent that she truly loves what she does! This venue was the first one I toured and was exactly what I was looking for! It was perfect for our cozy fall wedding. I worked with Cait mostly during the planning process and then Susan was the coordinator on our wedding day. Both were very helpful and responsive. It was very nice being able to customize our day with catering and alcohol choices. We got so many compliments on how beautiful the venue was and I am so glad we got married here:)

Booking the Washington for my wedding was the best decision I could have made for my special day! The venue is gorgeous both inside and out with amazing gardens, historic ruins, a beautiful porch, spacious groom and bridal suites, and a large ballroom for the reception. The picture opportunities are endless, the history behind the venue is super interesting, and it was the best backdrop for the most memorable day. The venue manager Caitlin ensured that our wedding day went so smoothly and helped take off a lot of stress for me as the bride! She is super communicative and accommodating during the whole booking and planning process and she is such as sweet person overall! I will be recommending the Washington to all of my friends/family who will be getting married in the future. I knew as soon as I took my first tour that this was where I wanted to get married and I did not regret it one bit. I'm so happy I got to be a part of the history of this beautiful venue :)

It is very difficult to put into words how wonderful this venue was for our wedding. I really wanted a timeless, unique, natural, and classy wedding. This venue checked all of those boxes. Caitlin was absolutely fantastic to work with. I truly never felt stressed or overwhelmed throughout the process because she was supportive and responsive. My guests have been calling me and telling me that this was the best wedding we have ever been to. They have said that the venue was insanely gorgeous and they couldn't believe just how beautiful is was. Many of my guests mentioned that they felt magic in the air and in the room and I believe that the location is just a bit closer to heaven.

I had my wedding here, and honestly I still cannot believe this place is real!!! I was engaged for less than four months, and so the fact that the Washington had the date available that we wanted to get married was truly a blessing. Caitlin was so kind, organized, and helpful, and she was clearly so excited for us. The overall cost was very reasonable, and the venue and surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. My wedding reception at HYS was amazing. I grew up in the area and was familiar with HYS, but had never attended any formal functions in the building. Cait was wonderful to work with, very organized and responsive, and all the vendors (cake, catering, DJ, etc) she suggested were fantastic too! She coordinated with us and allowed us to drop off our decorations earlier in the week since we would be doing our ceremony at a church and we had friends set up the reception day of. Even with the max of 150 guests, it didn’t feel as crowded as I thought, which was great because I was worried everyone would be squished! Many of my family friends still tell me it was the best wedding they have been to!

We could not have asked for a better venue than The Washington. The property is so, so gorgeous and meticulously maintained, and I love that the history of the site is incorporated in the decor. We had our wedding at The Washington this June. The venue is such a beautiful hidden gem- rustic but not a barn, has a whimsical garden feel but also historic charm. We had a gorgeous outdoor ceremony, indoor/outdoor cocktail hour and indoor reception, which was a perfect mix. Cait at the Washington was so sweet and easy to work with, and the day went seamlessly. You can choose your caterer which is also great for those with varied preferences. Photos (while breathtaking) simply do not do it justice- there are so many beautiful spots for special moments and photos. We wouldn’t change a thing and highly recommend The Washington for your big day!

June 2023 Wedding: We LOVED our venue! The price is phenomenal and the spaces are all beautiful. We love the artifacts in the brick room and the easy flow of areas for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, etc. Cait and Ann (venue coordinators) we’re both fantastic and very helpful throughout the entire process. It rained on our day, but the inside backup plan is just as beautiful (maybe even better!) We also utilized the covered porch for picture and throughout the day, even with some rain- we all stayed dry. We definitely recommend adding The Washington to your list. We knew it was the one for us as soon as we toured. ☺️

We visited a few venues in our search, but once we toured The Washington we knew we found it! The gardens are beautifully kept by a Women’s non-profit and The Washington has natural historic charm, so we knew we could go minimal decor and it would be beautiful and rustic as it was. Cait gave a list of vendors they’ve worked with and we did our search from there and found we really liked a few of them! We ended up booking most of our vendors from that suggestion list and we had our dream wedding!

We got married on 4/22/23 and were absolutely thrilled that the Washington was our venue. We ended up having to move the wedding indoors due to an incoming storm, but the indoor option was just as beautiful and intimate. Even with the rain, we were still able to use the covered porch for cocktail hour and the reception hall was absolutely stunning. The space was perfection for our ~110 guest wedding. Caitlin and Ann were an absolute joy to work with; answering every question we had throughout the entire process.

The one thing my now-husband and I could agree on in terms of wedding venue was that we didn’t want to get married at a wedding factory. We wanted a personal experience with our friends and family and not bump against multiple other weddings happening the same day/time. This building is in a beautiful, private setting that is also easily accessible from lots of different directions. The Washington was able to provide great recommendations from their approved vendors list and we had precisely the experience we wanted for our day. I cannot rave about this place enough!!

We had our ceremony and reception at The Washington and it was a perfect day! There are a few options for an outdoor ceremony space & a "built-in" back up plan with an indoor location, so important! For a fall wedding, the grounds were beautiful. Leaves were changing, flowers were still blooming. Our pictures are amazing! I appreciated how easily the venue flows from ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner. Everything is close together which makes it easy for guests to navigate. I think it is imperative to mention that this is one of the most affordable wedding venues we looked at. The value of this place is absolutely worth it! Cait was amazing leading up to the wedding, quickly answering our questions & giving suggestions where she could! Ann was a great help to have the day of.

My daughter and new son-in-law were married last weekend at The Washington at Yellow Springs. Cait was our guide through the proces and we were thrilled with every part of the event. The ceremony took place on the hill by the tree...lovely. The cocktail hour was in the garden and the reception inside. We will cherish all of our memories!! There are so many options for ceremony, including an indoor location in case of rain - and the grounds are just gorgeous! So much natural beauty and stunning backdrops for photos. The Washington at Historic Yellow Springs has everything you could ask for in a wedding venue. Beautiful gardens, a variety of outdoor ceremony spaces, history, and character. We knew we wanted an outdoor ceremony but it was such a relief to know there was an indoor ceremony space in the event of rain. Our day was perfect and we received so many complements from our guests about the unique and amazing venue. The Washington at Historic Yellow Springs is such a hidden gem! This was the first venue we looked at, and booked shortly after. Cait was personable and quick to respond to any email or text. The venue itself is tucked away from any traffic/noise and the layout itself flows perfectly. Having a venue that has a gorgeous backup ceremony space is a huge plus as well. Not many of our guests have even heard of the Washington before, but they were all impressed with its beauty and history. We couldn't have picked a better venue. We just had our wedding and reception here two weeks ago in mid-May 2022 and it was fantastic! The whole place is beautiful and fit what we were looking for in a venue perfectly. Caitlin was super easy to work with and communicated well through email and phone calls. Caitlin was there the day of the wedding to make sure the ceremony went well and kept her cool and a positive attitude even when it started to pour rain unexpectedly less than an hour before the ceremony was scheduled to take place outside. The guests contacted us afterwards to tell us how great it was to be there and took their own picturesque photos on the grounds. Combine this with Jerry over at Perfect Setting, who was amazing to work with, and you are ready for your big day! It all really made for a memorable and fun wedding and I am completely happy this is where we celebrated!

Deciding to have our wedding at The Washington was by far the best decision we made for our big day. Not only is The Washington one of the most beautiful venues we have been to, it is also spacious with many different spots and options for ceremony, cocktail hour, etc. Caitlin and her staff were so attentive, sweet, and direct when talking all things for event planning. We received so many compliments on the space we chose from our guests. The Washington and Caitlin provided such calmness to the day, and ensured everything ran smoothly. I felt that I was in great hands throughout the entire process. With The Washington as our venue and the help of great vendors, our day was perfect. We will be using any excuse possible to drive out The Washington and take in it's beauty!

My husband and I originally started planning our wedding and booked the Washington at Historic Yellow Springs as our venue in March 2019 for a spring 2020 wedding. Flash forward 2.5 years and 3 rescheduled wedding dates later (due to COVID), we finally had our perfect wedding day on September 10, 2021. I can not say enough good things about Caitlin and Brittany at the Washington. Caitlin kept us updated through the entire process, and was as accommodating as possible while we tried to figure out new wedding dates for the safety of our guests. When our big day finally came, Brittany could not have been a more reassuring, calming presence. She was great directing the space during set-up and keeping everything organized for our ceremony. The grounds and event space at the Washington are insanely beautiful and our wedding guests are still raving about it almost a month later. We could not be happier with our wedding at the Washington and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get married in the area!

The Washington is a BEAUTIFUL venue for a wedding (for getting ready, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and all!!) The courtyard fountain area was the perfect place for our ceremony. The garden in the background and the fountain in the center made for such a romantic setting. And the whole building + surrounding area is stunning for pictures! Our guests loved wandering the grounds during cocktail hour, and our photographer loved all of the pretty locations to take photos. The room for the reception is spacious and looks beautiful even before it's decorated. Cait, Ann, and the team were so helpful throughout the planning process and on the day of. Caitlin and the whole team at the Washington were absolutely fantastic to work with. With such uncertainty during COVID they helped us navigate everything to still have the wedding day of our dreams. The venue itself is gorgeous with so many options for wedding photos (anxiously awaiting to get ours back!). The Washington was everything we could have ever hoped for and more to bring our natural, garden wedding dreams to life. The venue was rustic and comfortable yet still polished, beautifully landscaped, spacious but not too big that the venue felt empty, and within our budget. We were married outside under the tree, but the indoor ceremony space was also gorgeous - it was truly a win-win situation. Cait was incredibly professional, helpful, patient, and empathetic throughout our long, rescheduled COVID wedding process. She answered emails in a timely manner and put my mind completely at ease on the day of our wedding. Even after being on maternity leave the previous few months, she jumped right back in without missing a beat.

This venue was amazing we knew right away we wanted to say “I do” in that beautiful setting. We cannot say enough good things about Caitlyn she was so responsive with all our questions. My fiancé and I like so many other couples have had to change our original plans for our wedding day at The Washington because of COVID19. Although we haven’t had our wedding yet because we rescheduled for next year, I feel compelled to leave a review regarding our experience so far. Caitlin and the rest of the staff at the Washington have been absolutely wonderful throughout this crazy, stressful time. With so many unknowns, she has kept our peace of mind as her top priority. I have a few friends in the same situation that have their weddings booked elsewhere and they have not had the same experience. So, if you are looking for an absolutely beautiful venue with the best customer service, book The Washington at Yellow Springs!

I am so thankful to have had my wedding at The Washington. It is absolutely beautiful. The gardens and porch are probably my favorite parts :) We got married in June so everything was so bright and lush. From day one Caitlin was a dream to work with. This venue was an absolute dream! I couldn’t imagine spending the most important day of my life anywhere else! From the time my husband and I first toured with Caitlin, we knew The Washington was it! This place is truly a hidden gem. Our guests raved about how beautiful the grounds were from our ceremony under the tree, to cocktail hour in the courtyard, and our reception in the ballroom. It is perfectly intimate and timeless. Many of our guests were shocked that they have never heard of The Washington, and plan on coming back to Historic Yellow Springs for their art show events! From the moment we walked onto the grounds at Washington at HYS, we knew that this was the perfect place for us. We didn't look at any other venues at all. Romantic, intimate and beautiful are just a few words to describe this historic inn. We had a beautiful fall day and the grounds are so beautifully landscaped, we didn't need anything else to create a rustic feel. And if the beautiful space isn't enough for you, enter Cait. Cait is simply the BEST. She was responsive and helpful throughout our entire planning process, and even helped calm me down about wedding planning stresses. Day of, I was surprised she wasn't wearing a superhero cape the way she made sure every detail was ready and perfect. The Washington at Historic Yellow Springs was the perfect place to be married. Pure magic. It’s the perfect way to describe this place. We got married at this stunning, historic venue on 10/19 & it was the wedding of our dreams! That wouldn’t have been possible without Cait, our venue coordinator, who was a rockstar throughout the whole process. I had zero worries as a bride because of Cait & Beatrice. The planning process over our 2 year engagement was flawless & it all came to life the day of our wedding. The flow of the venue really stood out to not only us, but the guests as well. We got married under the tree, had cocktail hour down in the garden, and even had our first look pictures taken in the ruins. The bridal suite was such a beautiful space for me and my girls to get ready in. We had a smaller wedding with a lot of out-of-town guests, so it was wonderful having all the history around us for people to not only have fun, but to learn about what the venue once was. First, look at the photos - it's obvious how beautiful and magical this place is! It's a perfect place if you are looking for something unique, but not eccentric. The FLOW is perfect especially if you use the ruins/tree area - your guests will be moving throughout the venue during the whole event, which was one of my favorite things. onto planning: My wedding was the only one I have ever been a part of so planning was ALL new territory for me. Caitlin helped me feel very comfortable the entire time. She's an easy email or phone call (Caitlin thank you for being so kind on the phone - I'm usually that person with the 'phone anxiety' haha). They give a great selection of vendors, too! I highly suggest checking The Washington out my wedding there was PERFECT!

This place was magical! It was the first and only venue we looked at, and it was perfect! We booked it right away. Working with Caitlyn was a dream, she was amazing and helpful throughout the entire process. Our dream of having a rustic, beautiful wedding came true! We got married under the huge tree, but there are other options and also a backup inside place incase of bad weather. The reception hall is warm and welcoming and was the perfect ambiance. We highly recommend this place!!!

Our wedding at The Washington at Historic Yellow Springs was truly a dream come true. From the moment my now-husband and I stepped onto the beautiful grounds, we knew that this was the place where we wanted to celebrate our big day. Cait was a dream to work with, and made sure that everything ran seamlessly the day of our wedding. She helped us every step of the way from answering little questions to selecting vendors that we could trust. We loved that we were able to make choices about all of our vendors to create a day that was unique and represented our personal tastes and interests. I wish we could do it all over again, and I would not change a thing!

This venue is the best in the area! The Washington has several different spaces all in one space, so no need to rent a tent! The property is just gorgeous all year round. Caitlin and her team are total pros--willing to help with any and everything! We wholeheartedly recommend this location for your wedding!

Would give negative starts if possible. Loved the venue itself and it has great reviews. Staff is TERRIBLE. They canceled my wedding 58 days before we were supposed to say I do. I had called the planner there a few days before my last deposit to discuss things and she told me not to put any further money down yet as they were sending me a document next week. Well, the document was a letter stating they were canceling and lack of payment was listed as one of the reasons (as mentioned above, the same payment I was told not to make). They blocked my calls, stopped responding to my emails. I sent my wedding planner to talk with them and they determined they were "discussing" if they would give my deposit back. I eventually did get my deposit back, lost $1,000 to the caterer I booked because their venue required you to pick off a list. I had to find a new wedding venue ASAP and managed luckily to secure one by the end of the week. Had to spend almost $200 on rushing out new invitations with the updated location. A lot of stress and undue hardship caused by this venue. I would never recommend them to anyone after this experience.

Over the past 7 years The Washington has hosted more than 200 events without ever having t...

o cancel an event. In this case the couple notified us 75 days before the wedding that they felt the need to hire a security team to protect them from people that they said would come to the wedding even though they were not invited with the intent on disrupting their event and could possibly cause harm. We made contact with their appointed security company ( Mastiff ) and attempted to work with them to mitigate the risk of the situation and what they knew. When the security company refused to discuss the risk or their approach to managing it, we made a judgment that we could not permit our 300 year old historic site to be damaged such that we might have to cancel events for others following their wedding or even staff to end up hurt. We refunded the deposit and hope that the couple still had a wonderful wedding at their alternate venue.

We fell in love with The Washington at HYS the minute we toured it. It was the perfect setting for our wedding in so many ways and working with Caitlin, our venue coordinator, made it even better. Caitlin is the sweetest person to work with and she always answered all our questions right away. We did not have to worry about anything with Caitlin being our venue coordinator. We wanted to be surrounded by nature, gardens, foliage, rustic charm, and we wanted our venue to have a feeling of intimacy, character and history to it. We also wanted to have our ceremony and reception at the same location. The Washington offered all of this in addition to three outdoor ceremony locations that we could choose from (and the indoor space for rainy days was not too shabby either). The grounds of The Washington were simply beautiful no matter where you looked. It also offered a beautiful, spacious bridal suite and groom's lounge. We cannot express how perfect The Washington was for a our wedding day.

I knew from the second I saw the Washington that it was the venue for us—it's not only gorgeous, it's steeped in history and so different from a lot of other venues you'll see. We got married in the ruins and all of our guests commented on how awesome the venue was. I had a lot of questions leading up to the wedding and Caitlin was so helpful, and Beatrice made sure things went off without a hitch on the big day itself. They made everything so easy and were a huge part in giving us the wedding of our dreams! Get married at the Washington, you won't regret it!

The Washington was the first venue we found, and we immediately knew it was perfect for us. From our first tour to our wedding day, Caitlin was extremely helpful and always available for questions and emails. She really helped me not get overwhelmed by the whole process of planning a wedding, and went above and beyond to make sure our day was everything we wanted. Caitlin even helped with recommending some vendors I still needed to book. There is so much value for the price of booking The Washington - the fact that there is only one event each day and the length of the rental means you never feel rushed. We even dropped our decor off the night before and were able to store it, which was incredibly helpful for the morning of. The fact that the venue has an indoor ceremony space in addition to the three outdoor options was really important to us. The weather forecast on our wedding day was a toss up, and knowing we were able to wait until the last second to make that call was a big stress relief. The bridal and groom suites are spacious and beautiful, everyone enjoyed getting ready and hanging out in them. We got married at the tree, which made a perfect backdrop for our October ceremony. We loved that our guests could walk around the gorgeous grounds during cocktail hour and no one ever felt crammed in one area or room. Seating almost 150 guests in the dining room for dinner and still having plenty of room to dance was great. Having our wedding at The Washington felt like inviting our guests to our home. The history and beauty of the property is overwhelming. It was unforgettable and I would absolutely recommend The Washington to anyone planning a wedding!

I can't even put into words how much we loved having our wedding at The Washington. We knew from the get go that we wanted to get married somewhere that wasn't the traditional wedding venue and somewhere that had significance, and The Washington checked all of our boxes. With its history, it's so much more than just a place to get married - the property and building itself creates its own memories for you and your guests. Aside from that, everything at The Washington is beautiful and Caitlin is awesome to work with. Everything ran so smoothly and I couldn't be happier.

The gardens are beautiful and the entire venue is beaming with history! We loved the security of having a "plan b" space and the large bridal and groom suites. Caitlin and the entire staff was wonderful to work with and I would recommend this venue to any bride looking for a beautiful, quaint garden-style wedding.

A heartfelt thank you to you and the entire staff involved at The Washington for our wedding. We fell in love with that property 2 years ago and it really set the stage for what our wedding vision was. We received so many compliments from our friends and family about how unique, beautiful and special The Washington was and we couldn't agree more. Thank you, especially to Caitlin for her day-of help and coordination leading up to the day as well. I know there were delays from some outside vendors, but her flexibility was key. We could not be more happy with our wedding and that in big part was thanks to Caitlin and the staff at The Washington!

Our wedding on October 5th was absolutely perfect at the Washington. Caitlin was fabulous to work with, highly responsive to emails and phone calls and was always so quick to offer ideas or quell our wedding planning anxieties! We cannot say enough about how absolutely gorgeous their space is- every photo has the most amazing backdrop. Felt like a fairy-tale garden, complete with ample space for everyone to get ready then party the night away. We couldn't have loved our venue more!

The Washington at Historic Yellow Springs is truly a breathtaking venue in the heart of Chester Springs, PA. We had our wedding in May and the beauty of the spring flowers and outdoor wedding venue made for a relaxing and intimate atmosphere. The staff at Historic Yellow Springs were very accommodating and helped us create a lavish wedding at an affordable price. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a historic facility, with some outdoor charm and rustic feel. Add Serock Catering and you'll have a wedding to remember.

Our wedding dreams came true as soon as we stepped onto the grounds of The Washington. We searched and searched throughout NJ and PA to find our perfect wedding venue. We wanted a space that was unique, timeless, and affordable. This was very difficult to come by. However, The Washington at Historic Yellow Springs checked all of our boxes, and we could not be more thrilled to have stumbled upon this gem. The space offers nature and history, plus all the amenities you need for a full scale wedding - kitchen, reception room, bridal suite, groom’s area, bathrooms, multiple outdoor ceremony locations, and an indoor “Plan B if it Rains” room. We chose to have our ceremony underneath the gorgeous oak tree on the property. Our pictures are stunning! Our guests loved the charm and coziness of the space. Caitlin Burton, the venue manager, is SO friendly and easy to work with. From the tour, the booking, the day of the wedding, and the many emails in between, she was so professional and helpful every step of the way. Cannot recommend The Washington at Historic Yellow Springs enough. It is the most magical place to say I do.
