The Wauwinet treated us like family for our June beach wedding at the inn. When a surprise storm plowed through just moments before our outdoor ceremony was supposed to take place, I saw staff members running around in the pouring rain (and hail!) to save our event. We were able to relocate indoors in no time flat thanks to the quick work of the hotel staff. The food was phenomenal, no one had to wait for a drink, and the service level was off the charts. Many of our guests came up to me afterwards and commented on the attentiveness and care of the entire staff at the Wauwinet. Not to mention our photos are out of this world, it is an absolutely gorgeous place to get married. Thank you for giving us the best night of our lives! I can't recommend this venue enough.
The owners son getting married this weekend. No dinner tonight, no room service no nothing, no explanations, just excuses. Go into town and fend for yourself, no advance explanations. These people have no clue about service and could care less about you. AVOID this place
Let's start by saying, if you are looking to get married at The Wauwinet you probably already have an idea of the level of service and attention that you will be given on your big day. That being said, my expectations were surpassed, leaving myself and my family speechless. When you get married at The Wauwinet they bring you into their Nantucket family, this is something that we can treasure forever. Their team took care of my family and friends like they were their own, giving everyone the attention that they deserve on their big day. I felt like royalty and was met with such warm smiles, it was easy to put my confidence and trust in their team - every detail was executed with absolutely perfection.
We had Captain Rob drive us in their woody car for first look photos, a patio ceremony that was absolutely gorgeous...the other guests at the inn were able to watch and feel like they were also part of our fairy tale - I actually LOVED this, we had random guests in tears and I know they will treasure our memories along with them long after leaving the island - such a cool feeling!
If you are considering this as your venue just book them now - the beautiful memories of that little inn by the sea will stay with us forever!
Our wedding at The Wauwinet was on a late-summer afternoon in peak season. The Wauwinet's gorgeous landscaping was in bloom and perfectly manicured, making for magazine-like photos. It all still feels like a dream. The staff were all incredibly professional (Mark is the best!), responding to us with "my pleasure" at even the most annoying of requests. The food was out of this world -- our guests were blown away. It's not often that you get gourmet food at a wedding. Even our friends who just eat meat and potatoes cleared their plates... even if they didn't know what exactly it was they were eating.
Since it is an inn, and a small one at that, this is the perfect space for under 40 guests. We had acoustic ceremony/cocktail hour music performed by Jeff Ross, and did not have dancing after dinner, but we were able to keep the party going and people didn't seem to care (the men were quite pleased, actually). We were told that we were a little noisy at the end of the evening and had to move indoors, but it was the truth and we were happy to comply. It wasn't the most private of venues either (other diners, guests, etc.), but even strangers were happy to see a wedding.
We will never forget our wedding, and know it may be one of the classiest, most amazing weddings our families and friends have been to.
Absolutely the most beautiful place in the world! I could not have picked a better venue! Mark was wonderful as was absolutely everyone else!
It overlooked Nantucket sound therefore we took many of our wedding photos at Topper's. Toppers is a relais chateaux rated restaurant so the food was fantastic. It is in the Wauwinet - a charming old Nantucket hotel so guests can opt to stay the night! The sommelier was very helpful s was Simon Shurrey -the events manager.;absolutely nothing.
