We had a great experience with Thelma for our wedding! The venue is beautiful and has many different spaces available for guests. We were able to have both our ceremony and reception there. They were very accommodating and we were able to have a live band, bring in our own decor, and choose a caterer. The staff were super helpful and professional, especially the day of. They took care of everything and really made sure we were taken care of the entire day. Anything we asked, they were on top of it. Communication about the bar tab and where we were at with that throughout the night was great! We received so many compliments from our guests and how much they enjoyed the venue. The location is great too! There is a hotel very close by as well as bars and restaurants in the downtown area.
HANDS DOWN THEE BEST SERVICE EVER!! From every phone call, text and email, everything was so smooth (considering we were a COVID post poned wedding) they took care of everything and reassured we were in great hands! The day went off perfectly and we cannot thank the staff enough for all of their hard work to make our special day come true! The staff was extremely professional and fun and went above and beyond!
By far, booking THELMA for our wedding was the best decision throughout our planning. We had looked at a couple venues for options, but knew we would need to spend a lot of money on decorations elsewhere. THELMA is so beautiful itself that it does not need ceiling décor and backdrops for the head table/etc. Also, THELMA doesn't require a food minimum so we spent a lot less than all of our friends who had weddings at banquet halls. We chose our caterer and SAVED so much! The staff is so helpful and detail oriented, they made my day easy and stress-free. I had my wedding during COVID-19, and THELMA gave us more space at no extra cost! They were so accommodating so that we could still have our day perfect, and for that, I am truly grateful.
I had a wedding at Thelma and had the WORST experience.
First, Thelma scheduled a band outside the building on the same day as my wedding- didn't ask me if this was alright given the noise pollution and lack of privacy with a huge crowd outside of my ceremony and reception.
On the day, the staff were more focused on the band then helping with all the issues that happened that day - not enough tables as requested, stereo and microphone not working, bar tab was not stopped when I directed them too.
I think they realised they had really messed up the day and offered to pay for the bar tab and champagne bottles I had ordered, which was a generous offer to try to fix all the issues.
Two months later, they tried to bill me for a bar tab that was 3x the amount I requested it to be stopped at. After a lot back and forth with several different employees, and me agreeing to pay for what was originally agreed for what we were to be billed, they still threatened to take me to collections.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE employees there. Do no recommend. Only wish I could give them 0 stars.
Set up was not right and charged extra for rearranging and still did not get it right... but the venue was beautiful
