Thomas Hill Organics

Our experience with Thomas Hill was a mixed bag. First, the positives - the food is really amazing. My husband and I love good food and wine, so it was really important to us to have amazing food at our wedding, and Thomas Hill delivered. The waitstaff and bartenders were also very professional and responsive to guests. However, getting to that point was quite frankly a struggle. We initially worked with Kacey (who was wonderful) but she left THO about a month before our wedding. The new contact person (who also left - on the morning of our wedding) was very unresponsive in the weeks before our wedding when we needed to work on finalizing the menu. I had a problem even getting a response back to concrete questions about menu descriptions, the children's menu, etc. and she informed me more than once that I would be charged more for things that had already been included in our contract. At the wedding itself, I was informed that she had left the company that day, and that the beverage manager had stepped in to oversee things (she did a great job in a difficult situation, by the way). Because of this disorganization, there were several problems with the food. For example, there was no olive oil on the tables for the bread and the meals did not match the descriptions we had received from the chef just a week earlier. We were especially disappointed with the vegetarian dish because we have so many vegetarian family members and guests - instead of the fall vegetable risotto with squash, broccoli, and carrots we were promised, we got plain risotto with not a vegetable in sight. I recognize that THO was going through a lot of transitions right around the time of our wedding - new coordinator contact, new chef, etc. - and it is possible that they have worked through some of the issues and are now providing better service. However, we were disappointed in the service we received, especially considering that THO is one of the more expensive options in the area.

Thomas Hill is not only delicious and fresh they are extremely professional and prepared for all events! We used them for our rehearsal dinner AND the wedding and people could not stop talking about the food. Their portions are perfect and leave you feeling satisfied, not stuffed and uncomfortable. Their menus are seasonal and all produce is obtained from their farm in Paso Robles. Their menus always change and they have great suggestions for unique meals. Hallie was key in our planning! She was on top of correspondence and was able to add 4 new people to our rehearsal dinner with less than an hour's notice. We used their event room at the restaurant and couldn't be happier! It's nice and private and cozy. The dessert was so tasty my father-in-law had thirds! And he doesn't even like dessert! We love Thomas Hill and will continue to go to their restaurant every time we are in Paso Robles.
