My now wife and I had the best wedding we could have asked for at the Thompson Austin. Over the last year, the staff, communication, accommodations, and yes, even the surprise upgrades, have blown away our expectations of what a wedding, venue, and hotel, could mean for us. In the end, it is a memory of the best day of my life and the day I got to marry the most amazing woman on the planet. Speaking of amazing women, Samantha has been a pleasure since the day we first toured. As young professionals, our time to tour venues is limited. But Samantha took the time to tour us well past her business hours. And she never rushed us, or made us feel unimportant. She actually did the opposite - she showed us all the available spaces, even after my wife fell in love with the Bayberry Room. Over the next several weeks, Samantha kept in contact and answered all questions and concerns. She even hosted us at Arriba Abajo just to meet with us again and let us see the space and truly envision of wedding day. After we signed the contract, Samantha only got better. She had the sale, she had us locked in, but her commitment to our wedding day only got stronger. My wife and I had everything planned, we (mainly my wife) knew the food, the layout, the seating arrangements, the flowers, the wedding band, and our specialty cocktails. But, my wife’s parents were paying. Meaning they wanted to feel like they had their say too. My mother-in-law may be one of the hardest people on the planet to please, but Samantha took so much time to speak with her, make her feel important, and address her concerns. I remember visiting with my in-laws one weekend, and my mother-in-law actually said, “We shouldn’t save a Thompson room for Uncle Dan, he’s a Tommie guy.” The stun on my face lead her to say, “Oh, Samantha and I talked about accommodations for all the family for an hour yesterday.” So, yes, Samantha not only have plans the day with you and your future spouse, but actually handles the in-laws too. The actual event is where Samantha truly shines - well she shined the whole time, so maybe radiates is a better word. When we checked into our complimentary bridal suite, we were met with handpicked gifts, based on things we told Samantha during the tour and a rose petal trail leading to a rose petal heart on our bed. At this moment we knew we were in good hands. I promised my wife I would check on the set-up while she was getting ready. Who was already there 6 hours before the ceremony? Samantha. The room looked exactly how my wife planned it out. But, Samantha was it ensuring it looked perfect from every angle. Now, the wedding and ceremony were a blur, but I swear Samantha was seemingly everywhere making sure nothing went wrong. It was honestly impressive how many places and how many things she was able to do. All to make sure our day was perfect. And it truly was. The most impressive thing though, is when we went to thank Samantha for everything, she made sure we knew the names of everyone on her team that made our day possible. So, thank you Samantha, Michael, Anthony, Marco, and McKenzie. You all were amazing and we cannot thank you enough. Everything was perfect, and my wife deserved nothing less. Thank you for treating her with the grace and perfection she deserved. I cannot do anything less than give you all the praises you also deserve.

I cannot say enough excellent things about Lisa and the entire team at the Thompson Hotel. We just hosted our wedding there this past weekend (May 2022) and everything greatly exceeded our expectations. From the beginning, Lisa was great at answering all questions we had in a timely manner. She also worked extremely well with our wedding coordinator to ensure that everything (from dinner timing, to room layout, to photo locations) went off perfectly and on time. Lisa went above and beyond her normal duties as the event manager and helped us with behind the scenes décor issues as well. I had an image for what I wanted our wedding to be and Lisa and her team helped blow my expectations away. They made a room that could fit hundreds of people feel full for a guest count of 80 - 90, the food was delicious and served hot, drink service was on time and no one ever had an empty glass, and the decor (flowers / linens / votives / dance floor / etc.) was setup perfectly. The Thompson also did a great job ensuring all rooms in our room block were setup and available for when our guests checked in. If anyone is having a wedding in the Austin area I'd strongly recommend you talk to Lisa and consider the Thompson!!
