We inquired with the catering sales executive, Ashley about using TI as a potential wedding venue.
Sent us a contract right away, asking for a $2,500 down deposit. Didn't explain anything. Horrible customer service, email responses were very short and disregarded any questions. Would not make for stress free wedding planning.
Erin is a saint. I cannot say enough good things about her and our experience with her planning our wedding!! She put up with my many, many emails that were often times paragraphs and handful of lists long! She was always quick with a well thought out response and plenty of information for us to think through. She was extremely wonderful to work through especially when our tasting kept getting kicked out due to COVID restrictions, she was always quick to check in with an update and was always advocating for her couples to have the most “normal” wedding that they could have! She was so knowledgeable and was such a comforting presence to have throughout our wedding planning. When we went to TI for our tour my now husband asked if we could see the hotel suites so we could have an easier time deciding which ones we wanted to use, something that clearly is not part of the normal tour, but she didn’t even hesitate! She took us right up there and let us tour the rooms that were open so we had a better idea of what we wanted! It helped us make such an informative decision and was clearly above and beyond the call of duty. When we left after that tour my husband looked at me and we knew this was where we wanted to get married. We had been searching for months to find a perfect venue as I wanted something by the water, but we didn’t want to pay an arm and a leg for a Saturday summer wedding. Those were our non-negotiables and we were beginning to think we’d never find anything until I stumbled upon TI at a wedding fair. While they have plenty of options to get married in the casino we opted to get married on the beach down in the marina and have our ceremony at Paradise Cove just off of the marina. They provided a shuttle for our guests back and forth from the hotel so that no one needed to walk, the whole experience was wonderful. We were able to have our rehearsal dinner in the bowling alley with the private room in the back and it was everything that we wanted it to be and more!
Our experience with the hotel and wedding block was 10/10. Erin was great about communicating the number of rooms in our block, the types of rooms in our block, the prices (which were pretty good), and our deadline to book those rooms. We weren’t able to book as soon as we liked as TI was closed for a bit but they were always helpful to us and our guests when they called wondering if the reservations had been opened yet. Once they were open we had no issues getting rooms booked and were even able to add additional rooms if we needed! We had rooms in the Eagle and the Wolf tower and our guests seemed to like them. The only downside was the pool had not opened back up at the time of the wedding due to staffing issues but they were more than happy and willing to help us adjust our departure date a day early. We had originally planned to have brunch and a pool day in the swim-up bar watching baseball the Sunday after but with it not being opened we opted to go to a different hotel elsewhere in the city. They were very helpful in canceling those extra nights and didn’t give anyone a hard time which was greatly appreciated!
The food was incredible and honestly FAR better than we were expecting from a casino. Our guests still rave about how great the food was. We did a couple of appetizers during our cocktail hour, had the dinner, and then finished with some late night pizza for anyone who was still dancing and celebrating!
We used them for our hotel and also rehearsal dinner and Erin was so fantastic and helpful to work with! The dinner room and meal was exactly what I was hoping for- so delicious! Also, staff was helpful and responsive. I wish hotel block could have been bigger but there are so many rooms there guests can stay in other wings. We stayed in Wolf towers and loved it.
Erin was great to work with and the food was great. I am giving 3 stars because I want to warn all couples who are considering having their wedding here and have friends and family that like to drink to reconsider having their wedding elsewhere. They apparently have “strict liquor” laws which means that they will cut off your guests without any reason and because they can. None of my guests were outrageously intoxicated or acting absurd in anyway and about 20 of them were cut off before 10 PM. The bartenders name the cut everyone off was Debra, the other bartender was a sweetheart and knew this other lady was being ridiculous. Her manager came down to Paradise Cove and my husband and I even complained to him about how rude she was treating our guests and bridal party and he didn’t care and said everything is to the bartenders discretion. Most of my guests had no other choice but to leave early because of this bartender. This is not anything I wish for any bride to have to deal with on their wedding night.
We got married at the beach and had our ceremony at Paradise Cove. Overall, our wedding was amazing. The venue looked great with minimal decor and the beach and surrounding area pictures were amazing. Food was great and our guests were shocked that Paradise Cove even existed.
The only issues we had were directly with the hotel. They somehow screwed up our reservation at check in and we were asked to switch suites halfway through the day saturday while we were all getting ready. It was all figured out eventually and we did not have to move but it was added stress that was unnecessary. We also had an issue with the shuttles, it went smoothly until I was left stranded at the hotel and ended up being 10 minutes late.
I would recommend this venue as it was cost effective and a great spot but also note that double and triple checking everything at the hotel might help reduce stress.
Very busy weekend as there was a concert and softball tournaments, but the rooms were clean and service was relatively quick. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.
We had our room block here. We also attempted to use shuttles to bring guests from our reception 10 minutes down the road back to the hotel at the end of the night.
We SO wanted everything to work great with this casino but everything that could go wrong with them did. We were assured we would be able to expand our room block once it was filled but upon that actually happening they would not add to it. They were rude to guests at check in and not flexible with moving check in or check out times at all despite the wedding ceremony conflicting with their check in.
We stayed for two nights prior to our wedding and then had booked a suite for the wedding night. We asked that they check in to our suite for us so that we wouldn't have to after our reception. They kept our bags in their back storage rooms and made us wait in line to check in as they neglected to at almost midnight.
We also did not get back from our 11 pm ending wedding until near midnight because they did not send any of the 3 shuttles we had booked to start transporting guests at 10:30. My husband had to make several calls and was put on hold and told he would be called back before this was resolved.
The way they "resolved" this was to send one shuttle over an hour late and still charged us for that one, stating that my husband had told them the wrong wedding date when making the reservation- despite him calling earlier to confirm they were set.
Our wedding was a dream; not even this casino's horrible customer service, lack of congratulations, and zero attempt to make up the mistakes can take that away.
But Future weddings be warned. I have never left a bad review before. This was UNACCEPTABLE.
We had decided to not decorate and just have what was provided and had lighting. It made for less stress and easy clean up. They were very helpful and all went well except for check in. They had trouble finding our reservation but all was well.
I worked with Michelle and she was awesome! She made sure everything was planned and went as planned! Paradise Cove, which is a separate building from the casino, was a amazing!! Unfortunately with our April wedding we got snow so we were unable to get married on the beach - it was still an amazing ceremony inside! Highly recommend and totally affordable 😊
We had our reception on the Spirit of the Water boat and it was great. The staff was very friendly and checked in with us throughout the night.
Planning the event was a little chaotic. Our contact wasn't very organized and woukd ask me the same questions multiple times. We also connected on how to have the boat set up, which apparently wasn't relayed to the boat staff but we figured it out.
Many of our guests were from it of town and stayed at The hotel. We had a comped suite, which for the most part was great. Many of our guests commented that their rooms were less than ideal and that they'd never stay there again - ripped comforters, stains, old furniture. That was disappointing.
Everything was beautiful! Our ceremony was on the beach and reception was in Paradise Cove. The food was great and the staff was wonderful to work for! It was also nice to be able to have our rehearsal dinner and hotel right there as well.
I had a great overall experience while working with Treasure Island for our reception. Our wedding was offsite and the dinner/dance was down at Paradise Cove. Marthene was a pleasure to work with! She was extremely helpful and responsive with all of my questions leading up to the day of the wedding.
I found the layout of Paradise Cove ideal for our big day. I enjoyed that fact that Treasure Island has a hotel and all the entertainment there, however, the cove is tucked away and you feel more on your own. I also really enjoyed the fact that there were shuttles running all night between the Cove and the Hotel. The major downfall I saw was the expense of the hotel rooms. There was a major comedian in town the day of our wedding. That being said, we didn’t feel as though the venue was taken over by attendees of the show. Another big plus with the Cove not being directly connected to the casino.
The food was very good and very happy we were able to order pizza’s for a night light snack! Another item that I was very pleased with was the size of the room. We did not need to move any tables for the dance floor!
We truly enjoyed our day and thank Treasure Island for helping!
got free room and enjoy there!
Went to go bowling and they said it was full for a tournament. They should tell you that there are no lanes for 3 months when you book the stay and play package.
I worked with Marthene and she was wonderful!! They helped make my dream wedding come true! Everyone was so great to work with! Definitely would recommend them!
I used treasure island for my reception. A lot of my family had used them with great success. Going into all the details I was so flustered but Marthene bang and all the wonderful people helped me and turned paradise cove into something more than I could have ever imagined it would be for a wedding reception and the food was absolutely amazing! Everyone is till raving on how good it was!
Had a blast and no problems at all. Had a room rented, reserved lanes for bowling, had dinner, gambled, played bingo, and stayed up all night. Was a perfect place to have party because we had a barely a minor in the wedding party, so they were able to join in on the festivities too. Great pricing on everything as well! All staff was friendly and accommodated any questions or requests we had.
I absolutely loved our reception at Treasure Island Resort and Casino. We had the Wacouta/Chief Wabasha rooms and they were awesome. At first I was worried about the wild carpet and the purple chairs, but with the high ceilings and lighting, all the focus remained where it should be, on the people, the tables and the centerpieces. There was plenty of room for seating and the dancefloor was nice and big.
The food tasted great too and we got lots of compliments on dinner & snacks. Our bartender was friendly and fast as well - he did a great job! My biggest satisfaction is with the woman who was the buffet lead or something to that capacity. She checked in regularly to make sure things were going as planned and took care of anything we needed. She was so friendly and a great example of an employee who loves their job and loves making a special day a SPECIAL DAY!
All in all, it's a great place for customer service and very affordable and accommodating. We loved it!
Served 350 people for under $10k with appetizers later in the night. They were amazing to work with and got rave reviews from my guests throughout the night regarding the food, venue and staff...Would HIGHLY recommend them!
Treasure Island is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! If your wedding isn't there FORGET IT! They could careless about you. It was the worst experience ever. I would not suggest them to anyone. My friends and I used to go and gamble there and bowl there all the time. I don't want to go back period. Horrible horrible horrible service!!!!! They should be embarassed. Not to mention they jacked up the room rates on everyone by $70 after they had already made their reservations because of some stupid comedian.
great food, excellent staff, high ceilings, fantastic hotel rooms
My daughter was married at Treasure Island last summer. Treasure Island double booked our site and did not notify us....we found out HOURS before our wedding and had to scramble to find a different local for the wedding (we had 230 guests due to arrive and another party was using our reserved and paid for site!)To add insult to injury not one person contacted us with an appology and no effort was made to refund us any portion of our money. Horrible treatment that no one deserves on such an important day.
We rented the Spirit of the Water yacht for the dinner and had a dancing reception in one of the casino rooms. My guests had a terrific time! The hotel is right there so I didn't have to worry about my guests driving.
