Our wedding here was incredible - the scenery is gorgeous, and it was so convenient having our rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, wedding reception, and hotel all in one location. We wanted our day to be as carefree as possible, and that took a huge weight off our shoulders. It was also so much fun having all of our guests come together for a weekend getaway! The food was also incredible, and there is a sports bar on the property that became a central hangout spot.
There were some miscommunications along the way with coordinators during the planning process - but overall, the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating and our day ended up being beautiful and perfect. We will come back in the future to visit.
My husband and I hired Treetops as our reception venue for our Wedding. Our ceremony was located on a private lakefront property.
Overall Treetops was a beautiful venue, but unfortunately the staff did not meet expectations, which were more than generous considering it was a Covid wedding.
We planned out all the details and sent them into the primary event coordinator, who failed to disseminate them as there was absolutely zero communication between the staff.
They said we could come in to set up at 5pm the day before the wedding and that their end would be done (which meant that tables and table cloths would all be set up), but this wasn't the case - tables were still being set up, table cloths weren't on so I couldn't put my centerpieces out. There were supposed to be some staff members checking in to finalize details, but no one else was there. They didn't even let us in the room that the reception was planned in to set-up for the next day until closer to 6pm so I was late to my own rehearsal dinner (at Hunters Grill).
We rented colored napkins and napkin rings which the staff did not place out like they said they would. It was supposed to be an open bar during dancing, but instead it was a cash bar the entire night. We had color coordinated table settings for each guest to identify which guest ordered which meal, and we let staff know in an e-mail prior to our wedding day. However, I was having to coordinate who got what meal, and everything else with the staff ON OUR WEDDING DAY. Every bride's nightmare. The couple should be able to enjoy their wedding day stress free, not have to handle all the plans and details during the dinner.
Finally, some of our guests staying in rooms at Treetops weren't able to check in until 10pm (even with a reservation), the night before our wedding with no compensation. They were sitting in the lobby for hours after being told their rooms weren't ready yet... This meant that some of our guests from down state were not able to freshen up before the rehearsal dinner and had to use public restrooms to get changed.
Though many things went wrong at their own fault, I will give credit where it is due and admit they did help to make our day possible by allowing us to follow Covid guidelines across two different rooms (the Oak and Birch Rooms). Overall it was a beautiful day, but unfortunately they missed out on some of the important details my husband and I were excited for.
Beautiful venue, not so great staff. It wasn't the best... it wasn't the worst, but for the amount it cost, it should have been the best. Save yourself some money and the headache, go somewhere else.
Treetops Resort was the perfect place for my husband and I to get married! From all the scenic views, lodging accommodations and spa onsite, and only 5-10 minutes away from downtown Gaylord, you had everything you need for your special day! My husband and is groomsmen golfed the morning of the wedding while my bridesmaids and I got ready in my spacious hotel room that was right next door to the spa who did an incredible job on our makeup! We had our outdoor ceremony at The Lark which has a breathtaking view, took a shuttle bus around the property for pictures, and held our reception at the Convention Center. Lindsey the wedding coordinator is an absolute pleasure to work with. She is extremely attentive and cares so much about making sure your day goes smoothly and is nothing short of perfect! The whole wedding planning process would have been way more stressful if it wasn’t for Lindsey. Overall, I highly recommend Treetops Spa and Resort for your wedding!
Treetops provided us the most AMAZING wedding you could ask for. We wanted our own version of a destination wedding, in which my husband referred to as "the golf trip". All 80 of our guests traveled out of state to stay at Treetops Resort. With multiple styles of hotels on site, 3 different restaurants, 5 golf courses, and 4 pools every one of our guests found something to do until it was wedding time. The resort provided shuttle service from the hotel to their north property where the ceremony was held on a putting green with a beautiful 'treetop' view. The golf courses surrounding us made for the prefect back drop for our family wedding pictures. The reception in the Vista room provided our guests spectacular views of the golf course, and the buffet dinner was delicious. Cassy was our coordinator, and went above and beyond so that we could customize our day just how we wanted it.
Our wedding at Treetops was just beautiful! We were married on the Fazio putting green and reception at the Vista. Gorgeous views! London, the coordinator, worked very well and hard with us so we had a great day. The food was absolutely delicious. And the bartender Mitch was superb and a crowd favorite :) So happy with our decision to have our wedding at Treetops!
