Once you come through the doors, you will begin to see the time and research that was put into creating Whippoorwill Acres. Our all-wood, timber frame barn is aesthetically pleasing with its large timbers, high vaulted ceiling, and detailed accents. The main floor includes the ceremony/event area, Groom's Den, Caterer's Kitchen, Restrooms, Kid's Playroom, and a Full Service Bar. The upper-level provides a large viewing and seating loft, a lovely and spacious Bridal Suite, and our Borrowed Room. Whippoorwill Acres sets on 50 acres located directly on Highways 63 and 136, just minutes north of Kirksville, MO, offering you breath-taking scenery, with abundant photo opportunities. At Whippoorwill, our family's goal is to bring you and your guests cherished memories to last a lifetime.

Whippoorwill is a lovely venue! It was a perfect fit for my husband who wanted a rustic wedding and me who wanted a more modern venue. The bridal suite was amazing to get ready in; it had so much space and looks great in photos. Mitzi was helpful with questions and answered nicely through email. The something borrowed room was super valuable, too!

Mitzi and her family are amazing and do such a wonderful job of helping to make sure your day is perfect and runs smoothly. They help your vision come to life and offer suggestions that they know work well at their venue. The venue itself is breathtaking. It’s a beautiful barn that sits atop a hill with amazing views and the perfect opportunity for sunset pictures. Everything was so wonderful it’s hard to to imagine it over and over every day! Highly recommend Whippoorwill Acres!

I could write an entire book about how amazing and perfect this venue, and the owners are, but it would not do them justice at all. I cannot express enough how Whippoorwill Acres went above and beyond to make our big day so special. The venue layout is gorgeous and open creating a space that is not cramped or crowded. They also offer many unique decor options including wine barrels, wooden spools, etc. I could go on and on, but instead I just encourage you to go visit the venue and see for yourself! You will not be disappointed. Highly, highly recommend this venue. The owners are absolutely amazing and do everything they can to take care of you!

This venue was absolutely a DREAM. I recommend it to anyone that loves a rustic look, it is just gorgeous. From the outside options to the inside, everything is designed to fit the rustic yet modern look. I have gotten so many compliments on the venue, it’s crazy! Not to mention the bridal suite is gorgeous!!! But to top off the looks of the venue, the owners are the sweetest people you could ever work with. They truly care about your day and want it to go as smooth as possible! They helped out so much during our event, and helped us keep track of last minute details. They are such a joy to work with and without them our day would not have gone as wonderful as it did. They also have a borrowed room FULL of decorations you can use for free, I barely had to buy any decor!! Whippoorwill Acres is truly a gorgeous, spacious venue with many options for the look you are wanting, and the owners you will work with are just as amazing. You will not regret choosing this venue!

This venue is absolutely beautiful and wonderful. The owners are amazing people. They were really nice and cater to your needs. They are willing to do anything to make your day amazing. If you have an idea, just ask and I am sure they will make it work. We had a Mechanical Bull! They are super good at responding if they are not immediately available. Hands down the best venue, we even came all the way from Iowa, for 2 hours. Also has the best people to work with.

Mitzi and Samantha Shipley went above and beyond what we could ever ask for as venue owners. Our special day was made even more special by the wonderful help and support the Shipley's gave us. The venue was absolutely gorgeous and accommodated every single one of our needs. Whippoorwill Acres will always have a special spot in our hearts and we could not praise this venue enough!

I always said I was going to have my wedding at Whippoorwill Acres as it was in the process of being built and I am so glad I did! The Shipley family was so great to work with and they were always able to help out and answer any of my questions. The venue and scenery made for perfect pictures inside and out. I would definitely recommend this beautiful venue for any event.

I couldn’t of made a better choice in choosing whippoorwill acres for our wedding venue!! Besides being a gorgeous venue the owners were beyond helpful in making our wedding perfect! They were there every step of the way through planning and all of our guest were so impressed with them and how helpful and courtesy they were!! I definitely would choose whippoorwill acres over and over again!!

Whippoorwill is a BEAUTIFUL venue with AWESOME owners! We were treated with nothing but RESPECT! Customer service is a huge priority to them. Hotels & campsites were nearby & really accommodating. If you’re looking for a very AFFORDABLE place, look no further... you won’t be disappointed!

Such a beautiful venue! It has a wonderful place for the bride and groom to get ready in. Also the owners are very accommodating and super nice. So glad I picked Whippoorwill Acres to get married in! Definitely recommend it!
