We had our wedding at Whiteface Lodge in September and it was amazing!! The venue is beautiful, and we loved being able to stay onsite with our wedding party/family in the lodge. The staff were incredible and so friendly! And the food was delicious! Kelly was our point of contact for a year and a half prior - she was so helpful throughout the process. And we really appreciated her follow-up after the wedding to make sure we were happy with everything. We definitely recommend Whiteface Lodge to anyone considering getting married in the Lake Placid area!
This was the only place that I considered for my wedding. I booked the venue 22 months from the wedding date to ensure I could have it there. Kelly was excellent through all of the planning stages. Kelly went above and beyond. The staff made us feel so incredibly special even when there were curve balls through at them.
We did have issues with our room reservations. We booked the presidential suite that was also booked at the same time. They were able to accommodate us. Then check-in for the wedding party was not smooth; many rooms were not ready for check-in when we needed to attend the rehearsal. Even with all these hiccups, everything worked out amazingly. We were always informed of changes and remembered that not everything could go to plan.
The hotel staff was excellent and accommodating to our party.
Where do I even begin - the Whiteface Lodge team is hands down the reason that our dream wedding became a reality and we cannot thank every person that contributed to making it a success enough for being so professional, supportive, and just all around experts at what they do. So now to dive into the details - my husband and I visited the Whiteface Lodge together about 6 years ago and were in complete awe of how beautiful this resort is. It's very elegant and luxe, yet has this laid back vibe that didn't feel as stuffy as some of the high end resorts we've stayed at before. The space and staff makes you feel at home, and there are so many amazing activities and restaurants at the hotel you don't even need to leave when you're visiting (although Lake Placid's downtown is also out of this world). So when it was time that we were engaged and I really had my heart set on a winter wedding, we toured a few different venues in the VT/NY area and it all came full circle when we just new Whiteface Lodge was exactly the space for us. Despite living nearly 7 hours away, Kelly made the entire planning process very seamless and was always available to answer the millions of questions we had (we did not make it easy for her) with a positive attitude. She also helped guide us in the right direction when we were unsure of what would work best related to seating, timeline, etc. which we really appreciated since we did not have a wedding planner. We had the pleasure of meeting George at our food tasting, and he was also so personable, professional, and just a great person to offer us additional advice to make our day successful. When it came to the day of, everything again ran extremely seamless. I felt comfortable "sitting back and relaxing" because I knew we were in great hands with the WFL team. In so many ways Kelly and team went above and beyond for us to set everything up - allowing us to ship decor directly to the venue, being more than willing to set up the millions of things I ordered for me and coordinating with outside vendors so my husband and I could really enjoy our day without worry. The entire team had an impact on making things run so smoothly - Kelly ensured everything ran on time and checked in periodically to make sure everything was meeting our expectations, the bartenders were INCREDIBLE and I swear guests never had to wait for a drink, the servers were efficient and did not disrupt the speeches that where happening and were also extremely kind to our guests, and of course the chef and team did an amazing job delivering food for nearly 200 guests. Food was very important to us and it felt like you were out to dinner not at a wedding and that was a huge hit with everyone who attended. We truly had the best day (or weekend!) of our lives and we have the WFL team to thank for that. the quality of the space, food, drinks, staff, hotel is just top notch and you cannot go wrong with booking WFL as your wedding venue - we highly, highly recommend them and will remember this day with a big smile for the rest of our lives!!!
I could not have envisioned my wedding more perfectly done than at the Whiteface Lodge! 1. the venue is absolutely gorgeous, 2. the service from Kelly the wedding Director to each bartender, valet staff, and receptionist was impeccable and so friendly, 3. Planning the event details was made very easy by Kelly's expertise and the venue amenities. Also the chef at the Whiteface Lodge is amazing and the food delicious! I've attended a lot of weddings with good caterers but this was a whole other level. My family and friends have continuously raved about this wedding which has made it even more special to my husband and I. The Lodge is elegant and embodies the Adirondack style in a beautiful and authentic way.
To help other brides and grooms out there, the reason we chose Whiteface Lodge is that it provided an all in one experience with great choices for ceremony location, reception, and dancing. They also only do one wedding a weekend which gives you a very personalized experience. Kelly is your wedding coordinator for the entirety of the planning process and has a great list of preferred vendors who all have experience with WL. When you step foot on the property you feel so relaxed and the staff were quick to respond with anything needed and genuinely acted so excited for us. The actual wedding day went so smoothly with every detail coming out perfect. Highly recommend WL!
I recently got married at the Whiteface Lodge and stayed on the property from 1/7/22-1/10/22. I cannot say enough amazing things about our experience. The amenities are top notch. From the bowling alley and game room to the spa, hot tub and ice cream bar; you can literally not leave the grounds and have everything you need. The rooms were spotless and absolutely beautiful. Looking off the balcony into the snowy courtyard proved you were in a winter wonderland. We never wanted to leave!!
In regards to our wedding, we couldn’t be happier with how everything went. The reception was spectacular! The venue was incredible, the food delicious and the service outstanding. Kelly worked tirelessly with us throughout the planning process to make our day exactly what we had envisioned and more. Everything we asked was done as requested or even better.
Kelly, Lance and the entire staff from the servers, bartenders, front desk, the valets and everyone we had contact with were top notch. They made every moment a memory we will cherish forever.
Do not hesitate to stay here during any season for a trip you will never forget or to have a special event here for memories that will last a lifetime.
We have been frequent guests of the Whiteface Lodge since 2015 and when it came time to find our wedding venue there was no competition. Even through a full year postponement and staff changes, the process was seamless and there was constant communication. Having the ceremony and reception as well as hotel rooms all in one place made the day perfect for us and our guests! The food and atmosphere are absolutely perfect and we have received many many compliments about both. The wedding coordinator Kelly was an absolute pleasure to work with and made sure our day went smoothly. Her staff made sure my husband and I were constantly attended to throughout the evening. This was a destination wedding and was definitely worth the trip! I cannot thank the WFL and the staff for making our day absolutely perfect!
We had the highest of hopes for wedding events at the Whiteface Lodge. It’s truly a beautiful venue and a well appointed resort hotel for families to stay, but that’s where the positivity ends. We got married in August 2021 and understandably they had staffing issues due to COVID, however the issues started many months before the event. We went through 3 wedding coordinators with them and had incredibly difficult communication with delayed and absent minded responses for months. Finally the general manager reassured us that things would go smoothly. They didn’t. The hotel botched the check in process, actually checking people into the wrong rooms, including ours (the bride and groom). This led to our welcome BBQ on Friday being delayed, they did extend the bar time but made everyone pay beyond the scheduled 1 hour we had paid for despite no one in the wedding party actually being able to make it to the BBQ on time. The room booking was a mess. The day of our wedding was not a lot better. We had a beautiful ceremony at the Canoe Club, breath taking views, and planned a boat ride after the ceremony in their gorgeous Hacker Craft. Well, the drive of boat never showed up so we wasted about 45 mins sitting around. This was one of the biggest disappointments for me, the boat ride was really going to be a special experience. The dinner was delicious but the service was slow and took over two hours, which limited the time we got with the amazing band we had booked.
Overall it had all the potential for being perfect and it was just an endless series of disappointments. Take your wedding elsewhere until they get their act together.
The Whiteface Lodge is the perfect place to get married! They were so flexible and easy to work with. The whole wedding weekend was an incredible experience.
We absolutely loved our wedding at Whiteface Lodge. Our family and friends are still talking about how perfect it was. The food was fantastic and the location was amazing! Everywhere you turned their was something to do and a helpful staff member available to help.
Thank again for the best day ever!
The Whiteface Lodge was our wedding venue for our Adirondack wedding on September 15, 2019, and it was the most magical place to have a wedding, the most prepared, generous and hospitable to us and our guests. I can’t say enough about this exemplary venue and our two points of contact: Rosette Press, Director of Social & Catering Sales, and Nicole Zaluski, on-site Wedding Planner and Artist of our day.
Our Adirondack wedding was a destination wedding, so first we interfaced with Rosette, who showed us the Whiteface and helped us get our contract together, choose our food and nail down the overall timing and purchases. Rosette is elegant, wise, funny and calm…she helped us stay on task and followed up professionally when payments were due and as our day approached. Rosette’s calm competence and attention to detail made us feel well cared for, in supremely good hands, assured and relaxed and ready.
As our day approached Nicole became our front and center contact, as she is the artistry behind the entire day. Nicole interfaces with ALL vendors on the day of the wedding, so you don’t have to, and she handles every little personalized touch and detail with more precision and care than you can imagine.
I once came to visit Nicole before the wedding and she was personally re-vacuuming one of the private dining rooms for a rehearsal dinner she was curating because she wanted it “just so.” Nicole is an actual artist; if you tell her your ideas she will create something even more magical than you imagined…taking your idea and making it more ethereal, more artistic, more unique. Nicole made all our details come together in a fabric of beauty, warmth and welcome! I valued her and her curation SO SO MUCH.
If Nicole is the artist/wedding planner for your day, she has an astonishing canvas to work with: The Whiteface Lodge is one of the most stunning interiors/exteriors I have ever seen. Its honeyed Adirondack wood is inviting, its dimensions generous yet cozy, and it photographs extremely well, warm with great hues and tones. The setting of the property is singular and stunning, nestled in the Adirondacks, friend of wind and water. Our guests were over the moon with this venue; they still compliment us on finding such a gem for our wedding setting.
The food at the Whiteface is exemplary and surprising: Chef chose local seasonal vegetables and created food that was delicious and fresh, Michelin quality, including wines that were paired and appreciated. The servers are elegant and well-oiled, the entire day went better than we could have imagined. The Lodge setting felt casually elegant, not fussy, but deeply luxurious and cultured, a place to remember, a place to return to.
The Whiteface is a luxury venue, no doubt about it, but when the bill came in we were actually surprised at what an overall value it was. All the beauty, care and singular setting for a good price. You won’t regret choosing the Whiteface Lodge, and working with Rosette and Nicole. They will make you want to come back, again and again, to such a special place…as unique as Brigadoon!
We are so incredibly happy we chose to get married at The Whiteface Lodge. From the moment we walked in for our tour, we fell in love. Rosette, in charge of sales, was so welcoming and full of information. We had a full list of venues to visit and ended up booking then and there.
At that point, we began working with the amazing event planner, Nicole. She too was super friendly and made the process so simple. She was in contact every step of the way and let us know what she needed when. This made planning a destination wedding so easy.
The weekend of the wedding was a dream. We had the entire clubhouse to ourselves, which we would highly recommend. We were able to spend so much time with all of our friends and family. Everyone loved the ice skating, outdoor hot tubs, etc.
We had a smaller wedding of 50 people and they made the space look perfect. We got married in the Kanu room, which had the fireplaces roaring and looked completely transformed from the dining area! The reception was more than we could have asked for. The food was FANTASTIC (which we knew from the tasting!), the drinks were well made, and the staff were so friendly. Honestly, whatever we asked for they did and did so with a huge smile.
This was the perfect winter wonderland wedding. Our friends and family cant stop talking about it! We will forever cherish our time spent at the lodge and cant wait to go back for our anniversaries. We also cant think Nicole and the team at Whiteface Lodge enough for their patience and guidance throughout this process.
I was beyond impressed with the professionalism of all the staff of the Whiteface Lodge. Although my wedding was very small, they always made me feel like their priority. As if that wasn't enough, the food, amenities, and detail to every aspect of the Lodge was unforgettable. I can't wait to go back to visit!
There are no words to describe how incredible our elopement experience was . First of all WhiteFace Lodge is absolute heaven on earth , the staff was SO friendly and helpful . Nicole the wedding planner went above and beyond for us in every way . We cannot wait to go back and celebrate our anniversary there !!!!
My husband and I had our wedding here this summer, and we were so so happy that we did. Everything was 100% fantastic. The venue is obviously stunning. Our guests were so impressed and so excited to stay in such a beautiful place. We had a brunch wedding and the food was perfect. The staff at the front desk and at the event were all very kind and helpful. Mostly we were just thrilled to work with Nicole, the event planner. She was so efficient and flexible with every detail: she worked with us to customize our brunch and our open bar option to fit our budget, she never got annoyed with our endless questions, she ran our rehearsal, she worked with our vendors so we didn't have to worry about it the weekend of the wedding, and she made sure everything was perfect the day of (she even managed to get the Canoe Club to stay open an extra few hours for our guests to enjoy). We had some issues with our guests booking rooms in our block, but each time a problem popped up Nicole fixed it ASAP. Bottom line- we had a flawless wedding and wouldn't have changed a thing. Thank you to everyone at the lodge for making our day so perfect! We can't wait to come back!
My husband and I got married here on March 3rd, 2017. We toured 5 other venues but decided that the Whiteface Lodge was perfect for us! We worked with Nicole from the vey beginning and she made the process super easy and stress-free. The venue offered a lot of flexibity with packages, bar choices, and menus choices. I also did a lot of the decor and all of the florals myself. Nicole and her team placed everything it the perfect spot based of a key I made and as I walked down the aisle I saw my beautiful ceremony vision come to life and was able to repeat the same feeling of excitement seeing the reception come to life upon our entrance.
I also had the guests personally come up and compliment that their meal was seriously delicious and they were amazed at the beautiful plated dish they were presented still piping hot! The lodge takes great pride in their food and creates a seasonal menu that is ever changing. You are not just stuck with chicken or steak. My mother is also a vegan and they were more than happy to accommodate her with a fantastic dish she loved!
Another great aspect was that the resort itself has awesome amenities and many of our guests made it a mini vacation taking a day or two extra to enjoy the pool, spa, hot tubs, and slopes. I kept having guests tell me this was the most beautiful venue and the whole family was able to enjoy their time. Relaxing the day after my wedding at the pool and steam room was a total lifesaver and it was so nice to be able to take a few moments to myself after such an eventful few days.
For two people who wanted to elope, my husband and I are so happy that we didn't. Our wedding at Whiteface Lodge was one of the best weekends of our lives. From the warm chocolate chip cookies awaiting our guests upon their arrival to the inviting fireplaces, the lodge itself was simply beautiful.
Even better than the scenery was our experience with the staff. With all of the juggling parts included in planning and executing a wedding, I felt incredibly confident and at ease knowing that the Whiteface staff was standing beside me. In particular, Nicole, our events and day-of-event coordinator was a dream. Her competence, calm and warmth allowed my husband and I to focus on our family and friends and not get caught up in the behind-the-scenes work. She was able to pretty quickly read our style and personality, adding many special details to our wedding without us even asking (I don't know how she does it!).
The Whiteface Lodge has become a home away from home for us and we look forward to visiting again in years to come.
We had a beautiful Columbus Day wedding at the Whiteface Lodge! The in-house wedding coordinator was with us every step of the way and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating! Many of our guests stayed on-site and raved about the entire experience- from the food, to the facilities, to the customer service! As the wedding couple, the Lodge catered to our every need and worked with us to create an experience that was truly our own! If you are after a rustic, luxurious wedding, with a backdrop to match, look no further than the Whiteface Lodge. There is little doubt we will continue to return to Lake Placid and, especially, the Whiteface Lodge!
My husband and I got married at Whiteface Lodge January 2016. We enjoyed every aspect of the wedding and had an amazing day. Everything ran smoothly and guests who stayed at the Lodge loved their experience as well. Nicole, the wedding coordinator we worked with from Whiteface Lodge, was great to work with. Her overall demeanor was calming and well organized. The food, service, flexibility, and decor were great. I would recommend this venue to anyone who asked. No complaints!
I can't say enough about whiteface lodge! The venue is beautiful and has so many amentaties for all ages. The staff in all areas were so friendly and accomadating. It is the perfect place fir a wedding. We had a wonderful experience in the Spa. Alyssa who did nails, hair and make-up for us was amazing. She listened to each of brdemaids requests and executed beautifully. She did amazing hair and makeup for the bride. The person who went above and beyond was the wedding planner Nicole Zaluski. She was so organized and so calming even for a MOB that needed to have all the details. All the wedding guests raved about the entire experience. People who had never been to the area are looking to come back. Thank you Whieface Lodge for a memorable experience!!
The Whiteface Lodge was absolutely wonderful. We were extremely impressed with the level of service and attention to detail that the resort gave to our wedding. It was warm, inviting, and absolutely beautiful. Our guests had a plethora of compliments about the resort and the top notch service they received. Nicole was a dream to work with, and I would highly recommend her & The Whiteface Lodge to anyone looking to host an event in Lake Placid!
Our wedding day went so much better than we could have ever imagined! The entire weekend was amazing. Walking into the Whiteface Lodge takes you into another world. Even though there are so many great things to do in Lake Placid, our family didn't even feel the need to venture off the lodge's property because it had everything we needed (there were 22 of us staying in a bunch of the suites). The suites are the nicest hotel rooms that any of us had ever stayed in and many of my family members are avid travelers. It was so cozy! Each suite had at least one fire place, heated floors in the bathroom (!!!!), an awesome deck, and large bedrooms with comfy beds! The suites had kitchens so we could all hang out together for breakfast. The staff was absolutely amazing! House keeping came in multiple times a day to check and see if we needed anything, changed towels and other linens, start/empty the dishwasher, fill the ice pail, turn down the bed at night and drop off fresh.y made cookies! Every single staff member was friendly and more helpful than I would ever expect! There are so many amenities! We loved the game room which included a pool table, foos ball. Ping pong, air hockey, board games, and bowling! There is also a fitness center and movie theater! The heated outdoor poo,s and hot tubs were a staple for my family as well as the nighcampfires with s'mores.
Now on to the wedding.... Nicole Zaluski, the wedding coordinator, is awesome! She is very organized, put me at ease and answered all of my questions (and I had a lot) in a very timely manner! We had a delicious food tasting a few months before the wedding. Let me tell you, this is not your normal wedding food. It is amazing! My brother said you know your steak is cooked well when you can cut it with your fork! Everything was top of the line! Mmmm-I'm hungry jus thinking about it! When we got to the lodge for the wedding, we met with Nicole to go over some last minute questions and talk with her about all of the decorations, vendors, ect. She then met with us for the rehearsal and helped us organize it, which we really appreciated! I really didn't feel any stress on the wedding day, I knew the staff of The Whiteface Lodge had everything under control! I didn't have to worry about setting up anything and when something was delivered (cupcakes, flowers) the staff set them up/brought them to me. Everything was set up beautifully for the wedding! It is great that there are a few different options for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception spaces. We had our ceremony in Kanu Room, cocktail hour on the patio, and the reception in whispering pines. Again, the staff was fantastic! Everyone was very attentive to my, my husband's, and all of our guests needs! And they were so nice! As with the food tasting, the meal was delicious! The spaces were so beautiful, even with minimal decorations (it really doesn't need anything)! When the wedding ended, we didn't have to worry about cleaning anything up. The staff did it all and all of the decorations were neatly together the next day for us! A complimentary suite is included for the newly weds for the wedding night. I seriously cannot say enough good things about this place. We are already planning to go back for our one year anniversary! Thank you, again, Whiteface Lodge!
Words cannot even begin describe how wonderful our wedding weekend was at the Whiteface Lodge! The venue is absolutely stunning. Nicole was a pleasure to work with from day one. Planning a destination wedding for 70 guests is never an easy task, but Nicole made it a breeze. She was always quick to respond to my emails and knew what I wanted, even before I knew what I wanted!
So many of our guests have told us that our wedding was the best wedding they've ever been to. I was blown away when I walked into the reception. The room was decorated perfect, and the food and drinks were delicious!
The Whiteface Lodge has everything, and more, you could ever want in a hotel. We had a great time exploring the resort during our stay and taking advantage of the indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub, the game room (where we hosted an impromptu pre-wedding bowling tournament), the spa and the restaurant.
A big thank you to Nicole and all the staff at the Whiteface Lodge for making our wedding weekend the best weekend of our lives!
We got married last weekend (July 19th, 2015) with 60 guests at the Canoe Club on the water and then had a cocktail hour and reception in Whispering Winds. Everything was PERFECT! Nicole Zaluski was absolutely amazing! Everything leading up to the wedding was simply coordinated and taken care of by Nicole. Wedding day came and she put everything together just as I was hoping! Weather was a factor with thunderstorms in the morning and afternoon, however we were still able to squeeze in the ceremony outside which was exactly what I wanted! Everyone enjoyed their stay in Lake Placid (whether at Whiteface Lodge or other accommodations) and had a great time partying it up on Wedding Night! I highly recommend The Whiteface Lodge as a wedding site for others!
We had our wedding here in June 2015. The venue is amazing. Our experience was wonderful starting with our initial booking. Nicole, the wedding coordinator / liaison at the lodge walked us through the details. We had no wedding planner and did everything ourselves and she was easy to work with, had a great attitude, and responded promptly to emails or phone calls. We had a choice of where on site to have the reception and ceremony. We opted for an outdoor ceremony at the lodge's beach front property, Canoe Club on Saranac Road. Our only suggestion for improvement would be for better signage on Saranac Road designating the entrance to Canoe Club. Though we created and posted our own signage, a few guests missed our ceremony because they could not find the location. Regardless, the weather was perfect and we were not disappointed.
The food: go to the tasting with an empty stomach! The tasting was elegant, peaceful, relaxed, and most of all filling. The food was outstanding. We had numerous compliments about the food. Our personal issue with most weddings is being too full to dance, thus, we opted for the 3 course dinner and 3 passed appetizers and two stations. Our guests were satisfied and comfortable and able to enjoy the band by dancing the night away.
The Venue: Upscale / chic / rustic. everything we could have asked for!
Staff: the wait staff was extremely attentive. The food was brought out very efficiently. The drinks were always full. The staff gained compliments from guests.
I highly recommend this venue if Lake Placid is your destination for a wedding. Nicole did a remarkable job making our wedding run flawlessly and was always available. The overall feeling is one that you are the only wedding they have all year.
I cannot begin to recount how many times we heard, "This place is incredible!" or "This is the best wedding I've ever been to!" Whiteface Lodge blew us away the first time we saw it when looking for a venue. We drove up, checked in, and by the time we made it to the hot tub (after cocktails by the fire), we were crossing our fingers that we could lock down the date we wanted. We started crossing our toes too when on the way back from the hot tub we stopped at the ice cream sundae bar that they had. This place was awesome! Many of our friends and family are married with young kids and we were excited that this wedding weekend would also be a great family vacation for our guests. Nicole was such a breeze to work with. Everything we asked her about was answered with, "Sure, not a problem." It got to the point towards the end of the planning where we would joke that Nicole could easily make anything happen, not a problem.
The thing that we were most excited about was that all of our family and friends could stay there so through out the weekend we had loved ones everywhere we looked! One thing to note if you are planning to have many guests stay there is how they do the room blocks. It was explained to us initially, but we didn't fully get it until our guests began trying to book rooms. Because the hotel has rooms of various configurations (one bedrooms, two bedrooms, three, etc), you need to fill a block that contains a mix of those types of rooms before you can open up more. For instance, if you have 10 guests wanting a 1 bedroom, you might have 3 one bedrooms in your block and in order to get more one bedrooms, you need to find people who will book the 3 bedroom suites in order to complete that block before more are released. It all worked out great in the end and we had tons of people stay, but there was some real work on our end pairing up groups of friends that might not know each other to share a three bedroom suite to fill those up. Luckily, all of the suites are HUGE and NICE so it's more like sharing a cabin with other people as opposed to a hotel room (all have separate bathrooms for each room as well as a kitchen and living room). Like I said, it all worked out great, but it's something worth mentioning since we were confused and a bit frustrated in the beginning.
The whole weekend went off without a hitch and many people remarked on how nice and accommodating the hotel staff were. We chose to do a BBQ on the lake (1 mile from the hotel) the night before. It was a beautiful setting and the fire pit was a huge help since it was pretty chilly. Following the BBQ, we did a slide show in the movie theater (yes, they have a small theater in the hotel!). Again, the staff was great in helping us figure out the audio/video for this thing. We chose to do the ceremony in the Kanu room (their main dining room), and I'm so happy we chose that as opposed to doing it outside on the lake. I didn't have to worry about the weather (which ended up being beautiful) and the light coming through in that room was really gorgeous.
All in all, our wedding was exactly what we wanted and we could not have been happier to spend the weekend at such a stunning place with family and friends. Whiteface was so easy and wonderful to work with, they made it all look effortless. I would highly recommend to anyone to have their wedding here, you won't be disappointed!
We had the wedding of our dreams at the Whiteface Lodge. Highly recommended venue for a winter wonderland wedding.
There aren't many moments in life when you have a vision in your mind - a cozy, warm, glowing, rustic, intimate winter wedding - that actually come alive in ways that you didn't think were possible. Whiteface Lodge broke of the box and did something never done before and it was remarkable. Working with Nicole was effortless, which is exactly what I needed when planning a wedding in a short period of time from far away. She understood my vision and ran with it. She worked seamlessly with our vendors and made sure everything ran smoothly on the day of the wedding. I can't say more great things about working with Nicole. The food, drink, cake all were amazing. We heard a ton of comments from our guests saying that they felt they were having an amazing dinner at a fabulous restaurant instead of the eating typical wedding quality food. I highly recommend The Whiteface Lodge. We will always hold it near to our heart and can't wait to go back!
My husband and I looked for a wedding venue for two years before we happened to come across the Whiteface Lodge. We had decided to take a trip to Lake Placid in the winter and had never stayed at this lodge. We arrived and immediately fell in love with the resort. The service, staff, everything about it is fantastic.
While we were vacationing, we made an appointment to meet with Nicole who showed us the spaces. I knew standing in the terrace of the clubhouse this was for us. We booked our wedding date a year out exactly (1-11-2014). Nicole was great with getting us details, plans, pictures, etc. We visited the lodge many times that summer and fall planning and enjoying the lodge.
We did play a bit of back and forth over how to use the spaces. We had a lot of top of the line vendors working with the lodge. Nicole was flexible and let us be creative, worked with us on the menu. By the end of the planning, Nicole knew that I was always cold, hated fish, loved salad and lived on the smores (if you have ever stayed there, you'll understand the smores). She was great for the day before our wedding. She helped us host a pre-wedding event with ice skating, smores, etc.
I feel like Nicole did her job perfectly. The venue was ready, the staff was on top of it, the food came out hot and the other guests of the lodge didn't interfere. I did hire a day of wedding team and I am really happy that I did. They helped with the first look, make up, timeline, ceremony start time, you name it. I felt like Nicole could really focus on her staff and the order of events, prepping the food, getting the staff to set the spaces up. I thought it worked really well and I would definitely recommend working with Nicole from the lodge as well as getting a day of coordinator. I know I really wanted every detail to be perfect so it was perfect for me. If you are more relaxed, Nicole can handle everything on her own. She is a great multi-tasker.
The entire staff (Zach always goes above and beyond) is fantastic. Guests were in love with the resort and all it had to offer. The food was amazing, as always. There was tons going on. The rooms are to die for, the pool is awesome. We are 100% pleased with the fact that we had our winter wedding here. I imagine a summer and fall wedding here are also gorgeous, especially with all Canoe Club has to offer.
We will be returning to the lodge all the time. We have already gone back multiple times since our wedding and will be having our one year anniversary dinner in the same space as our ceremony (thanks to Nicole who worked her magic). This is truly a winter wonderland that turned rustic chic for our perfect day.
Everything was perfect! Lake Placid had the perfect winter weather - snow covered with light snow fall during the reception and ceremony. The Lodge is incredible - exquisitly designed and decorated - and during this time of year, has beautiful holiday decorations that add to the Winter Wonderland theme. The wedding coordinator is extremely helpful - answers all questions and in a timely fashion, has great advice for vendors (especially for the florist, who read our minds just through emailed photos), works with your budget and is open to all DIY ideas as well. She had perfect timing and planning for everything - start of reception, cocktail hour, to when to cut the cake and was there for every step of the day. She really put you at ease and made sure you had nothing to worry about that day. The food was fantastic - everything was placed when hot and every dish was well flavored, which is tough when making food for a crowd! They did a great job of catering to those with dietary restrictions and were very open to any suggestions regarding the menu or drinks. The remainder of the staff was incredibly helpful , polite, and enthusiastic throughout the entire evening. Overall, we could not have expected nor asked for a better experience. There is nothing that we would change - truly perfect!
The Whiteface Lodge is a wonderful get-a-way location in the Adirondacks. We had a very intimate wedding with 20 of our closest family and a sit down dinner following the ceremony. Nicole Zaluski was wonderful in facilitating our event; I would highly recommend working with her! We would do it all over again in a heartbeat!
The weekend was amazing. It was a bit of a pain for our guests to make it all the way to Lake Placid, but by the end of the weekend most were already making plans to return. Everyone had a great time, the venue is unlike anything else I've seen in the East. The fireplaces were all blazing, the snow was falling, and Whiteface Lodge barely needs any decorating because it is so well done anyway. I can't imagine a better winter wedding venue.
The only thing that wasn't perfect was the hair/makeup at the spa. I don't know if it was an isolated incident because my guests who got other services loved the spa. But the stylist was rude at both the trial and the day of the wedding. The set up for doing makeup didn't have good lighting and is less than I would expect for a resort as nice as Whiteface. My cousin ended up redoing some of my makeup, and I was happy to be able to resume the fun of the wedding and have that ordeal out of the way. In retrospect, I should have complained after the trial and/or made other arrangements.
On the other hand, Nicole, the wedding coordinator is amazing! She was fabulous and took care of things I didn't even realize needed to be done. She has a great eye, and it was really nice to know that I could trust her to make things look good. The staff was attentive, everyone was friendly, and the food was really good. They were really flexible about letting us choose what we wanted to serve, things we wanted to add to the menu, etc. We had our ceremony in the Kanu restaurant and then moved over to the clubhouse area for a cocktail hour and reception. It was really easy and convenient for us and the guests and added to the fun of the day.
Beyond the actual wedding ceremony, staying at Whiteface is like a dream. The indoor/outdoor pool and hot tubs are amazing. I hope to return as often as possible!
the Whiteface Lodge was the most spectacular venue for our wedding. Nicole the event coordinator was my right hand WOman!! she was awesome and such a pleasure to work with!! the food was incredible, the vendors were amazing. it truly was a magical day!
We planned to get married in the winter for many different reasons, but after that decision was made, we knew we wanted a "classic" winter wedding. The Whiteface Lodge provided first class service from my very first conversation with the sales manager. The setting was impeccable - we were married in the KANU room with 100 guests, followed by a 5 hour reception in the clubhouse. The room has magnificent windows with a view of Whiteface Mountain and the lighting was fabulous. Everyone in the entire hotel seemed involved in making our day turn out as spectacular as we planned. The food was amazing, the cake was included and received rave reviews and our pictures were incredibly romantic with the lighting and colors found throughout the hotel. The only glitch in the whole process was the event coordinator. If I were to get married here again, I would definitely hire a "day of event" coordinator to pull things together at the last minute. My mom did a lot of the last minute leg work (i.e. coordinating flowers, bridal party, etc). On a positive note, when she complained that things weren't falling perfectly into place, the manager himself was there to help. Everything did fall perfectly into place we and our guests had the time of our lives. We even rented the 3000 square foot presidential suite and used this as the site of our casual rehearsal dinner as well as the "after party" and it couldn't have worked out more perfectly. The suite was large enough to host everyone (probably 50 people) and we partied until the wee hours of the morning without interruption. Some other positives: the pricing is all inclusive and they were very flexible with adjusting the packages to make the prices a little more palatable when we decided to lengthen our guest list; Lake Placid has tons of stuff to do in the summer and winter for kids and kids at heart; the food and cake were a huge hit; the bridal suite is included on the night of the wedding; there is a lovely pool, sauna, 2 hot tubs, a bowling alley, ice cream parlor, ice rink and s'mores every night! Some negatives: most of our family members did not stay at the WFL due to the high cost of the rooms each night and the 2 night minimum stay (there are plenty of hotels in town); the event coordinator was less than organized; the package prices are comparable to that of NYC. That's it... we had the best night ever!
I absolutely loved my wedding at The Whiteface Lodge. They aren't just the venue, but the caterer, cake baker and linen and china supplier. The grounds of the lodge are beautiful and everything is top notch. All of my guests raved about the food and the open bar was wonderful. The only thing I wasn't thrilled with is that the onsite coordinator wasn't dressed very well the day of the wedding and somehow managed to end up in all of the photos taken by guests. She also left right after the ceremony. Thank goodness I had a DOC. I would absolutely recommend The Lodge to other brides.
