Wildwood was absolutely stunning and all our guests raved about the natural beauty of the venue. We loved our day here, it was really special. Things that were great:
- the ceremon...
y location (serene, beautiful)
- the reception area
- the food (guests complimented many times!)
- many of the recommended vendors (florist, dj, ice cream)
- mostly well priced for what you get!
Things that we had to work around:
- it was a bit tough with dietary restrictions. We found that our gluten free + vegan friends had a somewhat tougher time finding food options. There also weren't any labels on the food, folks had to ask.
- the location was a bit tough to get to - we ended up hiring buses to transport guests and would recommend that route (we used United Coach Tours)
- getting the kind of party we wanted was fairly expensive (open bar from start to end, extending the hours, late night snack)
- working with the vendor was a little chaotic sometimes. Not a lot of advance communication because they have their set ways of doing weddings. Our day went flawlessly so they definitely know what they are doing, but we were a little stressed beforehand because we hadn't heard much.
- they were a little restrictive on what you can do. Eg. couldn't leave anything there before and after, their event manager has to run the schedule, outside vendors cannot enter the venue until a certain time, that sort of thing. Nothing unreasonable but definitely not trivial.
We had a separate month of coordinator and that helped massively - would recommend. Their coordinator/DJ is great, but we found that we needed some more support since we didn't have a planner. Overall we loved our wedding and would pick Wildwood again!
My husband and I got married this weekend and it was perfect. We live in Southern California and had to do most of our planning remotely. We loved working with Dan and Lien. We wer...
e a little nervous since Lien does all the catering and you only pick your menu a few weeks before the wedding, but it was fantastic. Our guests went back again and again. The venue is stunning we did almost no decoration since it is so naturally beautiful. Highly recommend.
I could not have dreamt of a better venue than Wildwood Acres Resort. The venue itself is so gorgeous, it doesn't need any additional decorations. Also, as the sun sets, the thousa...
nds of twinkle lights turn on and it almost turns into a completely different venue. It's like getting two gorgeous venues for the price of one.
Lien and her family are also amazing. They are no-nonsense, efficient and helped us make the right decisions for our wedding. Everything went SO smoothly on the day of, the venue looked amazing and the food was delish! They had Cali Craft beers to serve, and their house wines. We also brought in some of our own Rosé to serve, and they were really flexible with that!
During the planning process, we took several tours of the venue (probably too many) and they were always welcoming and let us stop by as many times as we needed. We met with Lien 2 weeks before the wedding to hash out final details, and I left feeling so relaxed and at ease. She was on top of it!
Overall, our wedding day was magical and wonderful, and so much of that is because of Lien and her team!
This venue is absolutely gorgeous! All of the guests were blown away by the beauty of the outdoor reception and food!
Lien and Dan were extremely accommodating with us, and some ...
of our special requests for the night. I enjoyed the fact that when you book the day, there are no other events occurring so there is no concern about feeling rushed or sharing the space with any other parties/weddings. They had a great system of when to get the food out, that matched the vibe of the whole reception timeline.
Lien and Dan responded to my (many) emails in a quick fashion, and it really helped my anxiety go down. We selected to have a late afternoon reception, and it was truly magical once the sun went down and their lights came on. Many of the guests were pleasantly surprised, and many mentioned how they wanted to have parties or other weddings there.
Thank you Lien and Dan!
Oh my goodness, do Dan and Lien know what they are doing!!! I was planning my wedding from halfway across the country, and they were so accommodating! Between the countless emails,...
and having my MIL (who is local) be our proxy, Wildwood Acres truly will go above and beyond in planning your perfect day. The food is excellent, the setting is absolutely magical, and most helpful, they are very flexible with payments. Their expertise shows when it comes to the big day, everything flowed so smoothly,. Thank you so much Wildwood Acres!!!!
My husband and I got married at Wildwood Acres in June 2013 and it truly was our PERFECT wedding day! We feel incredibly fortunate to have gotten married at such a beautiful and ma...
gical venue and to have received the support of the owners, Dan & Lein, throughout the wedding planning process. For anyone who loves trees, flowers, serenity, and the enchantment of nature, this is an ideal place to get married. What’s more is that this is a family run business which spans two generations, and for decades this family has poured love, commitment, and creativity into nurturing the land and creating a sacred space to hold ceremony and celebration. Trust me, you will feel this the moment you set foot on the land!
From the first moment we entered Wildwood Acres we knew that this was the place we wanted to get married. As we walked farther into the venue we became more and more amazed by all the different patios, the canopy of trees, and the fountains… our biggest delight came we got to the top of the venue where we found a cathedral of trees under which ceremonies take place. Len and Dan were warm and delightful, and we became friends right away. As a bride and groom new to the world of weddings, we were so happy to have support. They kept us calm and happy, and were always available when we wanted to talk during our year of planning.
On the day of the wedding Lein, Dan, and their crew took care of everything! The dinner, appetizers and grilled-cheese after dinner snack were DELICIOUS! Our guests continue to rave about the food, even two months after the wedding! Everyone began with hearty portions, and many went back for seconds. Our guests were amazed that the environment, the service, and the food were so extraordinary – this shows what a find Wildwood Acres is!
In summary, we received EXCELLENT service throughout the preparation and the day, an abundance of delicious food, and an extraordinary environment! We had the most beautiful day we could have imagined. We highly recommend it! On a scale of 1 to 5, we give them a perfect 10!!!
When talking to people about this venue, I would tell them it's like the setting in the Secret Garden. And the day that my fiance (now husband) got married there, it was just magi...
cal! I loved the day!!! It was August, but it was not too hot, the food was great (they only do in-house catering) and I heard no complaints about the breath-taking beauty of it! :)
I highly recommend this venue if you're looking for an outdoor site that feels like a lovely garden party! :)
Lien at Wildwood took very good care of us. She made sure everything was the way we wanted on the day of our wedding. She was very accommodating of our unique requests, including a...
dding my hawk to the wedding.
I do not even know where to start about this venue! First of all, it is absolutely the most gorgeous venue I have ever seen. The owners take VERY good care of it, and you can tell!...
One of the many great things about this venue is that when you book the place it comes with tables, chairs, catering, silverware, plates, linens, etc. I did not have to rent anything because they have it all! It was so easy!
It also is "Naturally decorated" - meaning their landscaping is enough to say you pretty much do not need a lot of decorations! It is breathtaking. In fact when my husband and I went to go check out the venue, we were in the parking lot looking at the gate to enter (which you can barely even see in the venue) and both looked at each other and said "This is it. We have no clue what the inside looks like, but this is it."
They have open houses every month so you can see their venue, and try their food, which is awesome! When we tasted the food it was outstanding, and then to hear from our guests after the wedding we heard nothing but great things about Lien's cooking! DELICIOUS!!!
I will say that when you are on your way there you feel as though you are going the wrong way because you have to go down a dirt road, but once you get there IT IS AMAZING and worth it!!
Lien and Dan really do take the time out of their busy schedules to make your day perfect! They are great people, and love to have events there! She is always available and easy to get a hold of, but also accommodating to what your vision and needs are for your wedding. I highly recommend Wildwood Acres as a wedding venue!
When I saw Wildwood, I fell in love with it! The location is amazing- woodsy, secluded and so romantic. We picked it for our wedding and were soooo happy- all the guests said they ...
loved being there.
We were definitely happy with the choice, but we wished the owners were a little better in terms of service. The place could use a business-end makeover and then it would be splendid.
I enjoy the outdoors and was looking for something less manicured than a winery. Wildwood was it. The bride can have a dramatic entrance winding up the brick patch heading uphill...
to the alter at the top. You are in a canyone so not a car nearby. I didn't have a planner so I was assisted with how people should proceed and recess. They provided great food (meat cooked on outdoor bbq.) At night there was twinkling lights, wine/coffee barts, and they allowed an 8 piece brass band. It was all terrific. Lien, one of the owners will get meet with you basically the last two weeks to finalize everything. If you are compulsive and want to do things early, she doesn't do this. It all turned out great, except we didn't know what to do when it came time for the champagne toast. I assumed there would be bottles on the table. You have to make sure you announce for everyone to get their own champagne before the toast. This was embarrassing.
We had a great wedding ceremony and reception there. Love it in the summer. lots greens and flowers. Romantic place too. The food was great too. It's perfect!
I got married at Wildwood Acres in 2010 and it was a spectacular event. The venue, the service, the decor - it was all so beautiful and the relaxed, natural setting was perfect for...
us. You won't find another venue like it - it is truly a gem in the Lafayette hills. I was 110% happy with our wedding day and am so glad we chose Wildwood as our venue. But I have to admit, I did have doubts in the months leading up to our big day. Because the staff at Wildwood are pros at what they do and do multiple weddings nearly every weekend of the year, they know what they're doing and need very little direction. But, as a bride, who had never done this before and only gets one wedding ever, I was very worried about little details and had lots of questions. I got frustrated when many of my phone calls went unanswered or weren't returned for several days. Sometimes the customer service wasn't great and a couple times it was even rude. BUT, I will say, once I gave up control and put my full trust into the pros at Wildwood, it was a great experience and truly the perfect wedding.
We needed very little floral decoration because the surrounding area was so beautiful. The venue was set in a lush canyon and it was quiet and secluded.;We chose the location bec...
ause it tends to be warm there in the summer. However, the day of our wedding the fog made it over the hills and we had to use heat lamps (Per our contract with the venue).
Open outdoor feeling. As if you were in a park.
