Please do NOT have your wedding here! They charged $4000 for a campsite! Obviously the price doesn't include food or anything else but if we knew it was simply a campsite, we would've had wedding at the actual camp site next door. This venue looks like thousands of places in Colorado, I promise, you can get the same view almost any where in this state for a lot less money.
Emily, the wedding coordinator, was extremely rude!! There were many issues with her but after my disabled cousin fell down in the shower & hurt herself (there aren't any bath mats in shower) I asked if they could take my cousin to the chairs on the golf cart bc there is a pretty long hill that guest are made to walk up. This is after having to get in the back of a dirty wagon that drives you up the mountain. Emily told me we could find a wheel chair & push her up ourselves. Of course, they didn't offer the wheel chair. So unfortunately, my cousin wasn't able to attend the ceremony. If you have older guests or ppl with disabilities, don't book this place.
The wedding coordinator brought everything up the mountain before ceremony. However, you & your guest will be required to bring everything back down by yourselves after the ceremony. Assuming that they would be responsible, things were left at the ceremony site. When Emily & front desk were called & asked if they could bring down some of the things that were left at the campsite, we were told we would have to go get them ourselves. It is pretty far, so I drove my truck up to the site to pick up what was left...when I was driving back down, one of the employees was screaming & yelling at me. He told me I wasn't allowed to drive on HIS road.
We had 20 rooms booked at this hotel and at least 8 of us had to request to be moved to a different room because the rooms were so dirty! One of our guest was moved 2x and finally demanded a refund & slept at different hotel. Our room smelled like someone was train smoking, even though it's suppose to be smoke free. Our air conditioning didn't work, and something else was wrong in bathroom. Housekeeping said they knew our room wasn't supposed to be rented at all. We booked for 2 days, but 4 of us left to have lunch & when we returned, they locked all of us out of our rooms.
Please know the photos on website & the actual rooms are completely different. So many of us were complaining about how dirty the sheets were, I don't think they change them after each guest. There was also mold in the shower.
There were also a bunch of little things too...like no ironing boards, swimming pool was freezing, hot tub was only half way full of water, and sauna was broken. The beer the night before wedding was $4.50 but $8 at wedding reception.
I've traveled across the Country, and have stayed at countless hotels...this is the 1st time I've ever left a review. This was supposed to be a joyous occasion but because of everything that happened, it really put a damper on the wedding. Weddings are very expensive and I would hate for anyone else to pay so much money & have the awful experience that our family had. Please do not book your wedding here!! Winter Park is stunning, please book your wedding at a different hotel!!
We had our wedding at WPML on September 9th. I can't say enough good things about our experience! Lauren and Macy and everyone at the Lodge went above and beyond to make sure our day was amazing. The hotel is for sure not the fanciest, but the rooms were all super clean and everyone was comfortable. The ceremony site is soooo beautiful and you get views of the Winter Park slopes right be out your budget, I highly recommend Winter Park Mountain Lodge.
What an absolute disappointment this venue was. My sister was just married here, and thank goodness the mountains are stunning, the company was great & the family stepped up and did what needed to be done. The staff was rude and not overly helpful with much of anything. When I would ask the “wedding coordinator” a question, it was met with annoyance and frustration… and very minimal follow-through.
The venue was FILTHY. There were dead gnats on the “fresh linen” at all the tables, old cake icing smeared down the walls and window, who knows what smashed into the floor, the rooms left a lot to be desired and also were dirty, and at one point, we had to ask for new sheets. Instead of making the bed back up, they just gave us the linens and we had to do it ourselves. Which, of course we are capable, but we are not paying to stay there to do it all ourselves. Several guests left early- bride and groom included- because it was just too much.
At our scheduled brunch/farewell the following day, they were out of food!! We understand that a truck did not come in, but my goodness. They told us sausage and eggs were on tap… next thing we know, the restaurant was closed!! When we addressed this with staff, they got super snippy with us.
As someone who was married at a venue, I absolutely could not believe everything we experienced here. My parents paid for services that were promised… and were not delivered. It is a shame because the location is beautiful and the venue could be stellar with better staffing and a cleaner environment.
I do NOT recommend this venue unless some serious changes are made. What a shame.
Thankfully, we were able to create the most beautiful day in spite of everything else… it just took a lot of work and a whole lot of frustration.
Lauren was awesome & helped answer all my questions prior to my working with Macy. Its a tad older & outdated. When we were touring 4/2021, we were told that all the rooms were being redone. I checked in on the remodeling 4/2022 and I was told that it was not going to be done in time for our wedding 6/11. I was pretty upset as this was a huge reason we decided to book here. They did give guests a room discount & our cocktail hour for free. We were about to be charged an extra 3k for our final deposit until I said that wasn't right compared to a different total I was given (I just wish they would have double checked this before sending it over). Macy told me the reception room would be set up 6/9 so when we showed 6/10 it would be ready for us to decorate. We had to wait about an hour 6/10 as the linens were late and I was told they weren't even supposed to show up until the next day, this was just a bog lack of communication. 6/11, the reception room was scorching and they only had one fan on (apparently this was all of the fans in the whole building). I felt so bad for my guests. When we needed Macy, she was nowhere to be found. The bumps in the road were not enough to ruin our day and it was still wonderful and our guests enjoyed themselves.
Incredible!!!! I truly can’t say enough great things about this venue. Lauren and Jersey were incredibly responsive, flexible, and accommodating while we were planning our big day. They responded to my many many emails and questions and were so helpful and making sure our vision was realized. We rescheduled our 2020 wedding and that process was a breeze as well. The day of the wedding went off with just a few hiccups (what wedding day doesn’t have some) but Jersey made sure to quickly and seamlessly fix these little things!! The servers and bartenders were kind and professional as well! We had our rehearsal dinner in the Indian Peaks room and we got married and had our reception in their mountain ballrooms; everything was gorgeous! The mountain background, twinkling lights, and elegant but slightly rustic feel was exactly what we imagined. Jersey added last minute details that brought everything together and the staff perfectly arranged all of our decor. All of our guests were very impressed and happy with their stay as well. I am SO glad we chose WPML for our big day, it was perfect!
AMAZING!! Simply amazing. Our day was so spectacular. We couldn’t thank Lauren and Jersey enough. They were on top of everything from communication to the last little detail. We will be coming back for lots of anniversary trips 🤍
We were married here 9.25.21 and had an amazing day! The outdoor venue space is absolutely magical with the fall colors, our guests were in awe of it! The reception area is beautiful once the sun goes down, that mountain backdrop view cannot be beat! Jersey was very attentive before and the day of. We had a few things we needed changed day of and she made it happen immediately. Lauren was the sales representative involved in the planning and she made sure everything was lined up as needed. We had an overall great experience with the team here, they helped make our day everything we wanted and more!
I got married here in June 2021. We picked this venue January 2020 because of the amazing ceremony site and the view from the reception room. I would not suggest this venue unless you have a wedding planner who will be there to ensure your vision happens.
Over the course of planning our wedding staff changed a few times. This made it difficult to make sure everyone was on the same page. I do not blame the venue for this. Things like this happen.
As the wedding day got closer I filled out multiple documents stating exactly what I wanted and how I wanted it. Unfortunately, even with all of these documents there seemed to be a lot of confusion among the wedding staff about what I wanted. If it were not for my wedding planner nothing would have been right.
For example, the day before we did a walk through (wedding staff at the hotel, my day of planner, and myself) and as we entered the reception room the wedding staff said “this is where your sweetheart table will be.” I corrected her and said double sided 18 person table. She laughed it off and said how she was thinking of a different wedding. The next morning my day of planner did another walk through to see that the head-table was a sweetheart table, not the double sided 18 person table I had requested on two documents and confirmed on multiple phone conversations.
Similar things happened all evening. I was fortunate that my day of planner knew exactly what I wanted and had the documents to show the staff when things weren’t as we requested.
Our wedding here was absolutely magical! There were very few setbacks on our day (no day is complete without them!) but Tori and her team did a wonderful job or coordinating and helping us make the day perfect. The ceremony site is to DIE for! It was so beautiful and we constantly have guests raving about it. The reception room was perfect for our size of wedding and gave us plenty of space to spread out during this COVID times. Thank you so much for making our day perfect! We can't wait to return for our anniversaries!
Our wedding was magical here! They were so accommodating and made everything easy and smooth for us.
The ceremony site presents some unique challenges with getting everyone up the hill in a timely manner, but who doesn't love a wagon ride? And once up there, the location can't be beat.
I won't lie in that there a few times where I felt like it was difficult to get in touch and confirm details, but once we were a few weeks out, we had several conversations and they pulled through on everything they promised. And with COVID, they kept us up to date on all regulations and helped us throw a safe and fun wedding.
We loved everything about the day and would relive it in heartbeat!
Our wedding at Winter Park Mountain Lodge was magical. Michelle, was absolutely amazing and gave us a stress free wedding. The lodge took care of many things so my focus was solely on having fun and being with my husband. The food and views were incredible. We honestly had the wedding our dreams.
My husband and I got married at WPML in August 2018 and we have nothing but great things to say! We loved working with Kindra and Michelle, and they made the entire process so easy and smooth. Their outdoor ceremony + cocktail hour location is beyond stunning and oh so Colorado! They were able to accommodate our older grandparents with golf carts on the wedding day, which was an added bonus. I am so happy we chose to have our wedding and reception there, and wouldn't change it, if I had the choice! You will not regret it :)
When my husband and I first got engaged we knew we wanted to get married in the mountains and after seeing the photos of the outdoor ceremony site at Winter Park Mountain Lodge, we were hooked. We did our initial tour and tasting with Kindra, who was fantastic, and then worked with Michelle the few months before and up to the day of our wedding. Both were wonderful to work with and kept us on track of all the tiny details that go into a wedding. Michelle was very laid back on the day of and did everything she could to make sure we were on time and having a great wedding day. We loved having a dedicated wedding coordinator with us every step of the way. The wedding packages and add-on services are very well priced and include everything you need. Everything was perfect (both of our families kept reiterating that the night of)! We could not have asked for a more picture-perfect setting for our wedding. We loved that everything happened at one site; our guests could check in, get their gift bag, ride the wagon to the forest grove, and come back to the hotel for the cocktail hour and reception, which has an unbelievable view of the ski resort, and then get right to their hotel room. We also booked Moffat Station for our after-party and everything was set up for us right at 10 p.m. to keep the party going. We're so happy with our choice to get married here! Everyone at the hotel was professional and all the events we had here ran smoothly and they were good at coordinating with our outside vendors for flowers and cake and having a great setup for our DJ. We also loved that they're pet-friendly so we were able to have our dog included in the ceremony and stay with us overnight in the hotel. It was an incredible wedding at an incredible site and we would recommend it to anyone looking to get married in the mountains!
When my daughter began the process of looking for a wedding venue, we started at Winter Park Mountain Lodge. WE WERE HOOKED and didn't look at any further. Of course, the ceremony site is incredible as is the reception area and the guest rooms and suites.
But the wedding was made perfect by Kindra Olson and Michelle Reiber. What an amazing team they were. We had so many questions and would email constantly and would always received a prompt reply, even on nights and weekends. Michelle had great suggestions and met us in person a few times to ensure everything was on track. On the day of the wedding, she was right by our side as we prepared. From the wedding itself to the reception, she kept the event flowing smoothly. The reception room was a perfect size for 110 people plus the vendors. It was fun for the guests to be taken to the ceremony site on the wagon. Everything was perfect! We can't say enough about Winter Park Mountain Lodge and its staff. It is the prime place for a mountain wedding and not far from Denver. Thank you so much for making my daughters wedding absolutely perfect!
Absolutely perfect! We had such a wonderful experience planning our wedding with Michelle and Kindra. They were very helpful, answered our emails promptly, walked us through the entire process, and even helped the day-of. The location is stunning - I can't put it into words. The ceremony site at the top of the hill was better than expected, the reception room was simple yet elegant, and the rest of the hotel was adorably decorated which fit the entire mountain wedding mood effortlessly.
My wedding was perfect and it's largely because of this venue and Michelle and Kindra for all of their hard work and attention to detail. Thank you ladies!
I cannot say enough great things about our experience with Winter Park Mountain Lodge. We just got married in July and have been working with Kindra for almost a year to plan our special day. Kindra’s attentiveness and care is reason alone to book this venue! Our check-in process was seamless and our big day was perfect thanks to Kindra and her team. The food was INCREDIBLE and the service standards were impeccable. We heard from countless guests how wonderful everything was and my husband and I could not agree more. We are so grateful for everything Winter Park Mountain Lodge did to ensure our big day went off without a hitch.
We just got married here in early March and everything was fantastic. Food was excellent, staff was fabulous and attentive, everything went very smooth. We worked with Michelle prior and during the weekend as well as Ashley. Both were great to work with and couldn't have asked for anything different. We had multiple events for the wedding weekend including a welcome party and coffee bar following the wedding. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Highly recommend the Winter Park Mountain Lodge for a wedding in the mountains! Easy to get to from Denver and lots to do once there!
I did not have my wedding here but we were seriously considering it. Kendra was extremely helpful and always quick to respond! The reason we didn't have it here was because the outdoor area does not open until June and we were set on having an outdoor ceremony. Other than that, it looked great! It is very affordable compared to some of the other places out there, for sure! I would recommend checking this place out!
My daughter and son-in-law were married at the Lodge on Sept. 30, 2017. It was an incredible, wonderful, memorable experience. Kindra and her staff were awesome!!! From the planning, to the rehearsal dinner, to the wedding and the reception, it was truly a marvelous experience. The food was outstanding, the staff was extremely helpful throughout the wedding week, and Kindra herself was extremely professional and competent. She handled everything with aplomb and a smile!! Also, special shout outs to Robert at the front desk for all his help, and Baxter and Czarinna behind the bar for all helping make every evening special. The entire wedding week was amazing, thanks in no small part to Kindra and her staff. I would highly recommend the Mountain Lodge to any anyone who wants the experience of a mountain wedding!!!
My son and daughter-in-law were married here in March. It was an amazing wedding weekend. The ceremony and reception space has beautiful views of the ski slopes. Kindra our wedding coordinator is very experienced and helped us from start to finish in planning and the actual event. She is organized and doesn't let anything fall through the cracks. She was great to work with! We found all the lodge staff to be helpful with anything we needed. It was so nice to have our guests able to stay right onsite after the reception so no one had to drive. Besides the stunning space, we had so many compliments on the food. I was a little concerned that the salmon we wanted as a choice might come out like typical banquet food. Not the best. But people loved it as well as the rest of the food. We were so impressed with the chef. We used the deck to cook s'mores as well which is one of their options at the reception. Lots of fun! We highly recommend the Winter Park Mountain Lodge for your wedding. Give Kindra a call and check it out. After looking at many venues, we were glad this fit our budget. We loved, loved everything about it!
We had such a wonderful time at the Winter Park Mountain Lodge. Our wedding was in March of 2017, and Kendra was there every step of the way. She helped both plan and create a smooth and beautiful evening. The stay for our guests was also great as it is conveniently located right across from the slopes. The chef made sure the food was delicious, and we got many compliments on the dinner choice. I would certainly recommend this venue to any bride interested in having a wedding in Winter Park. Wonderful staff, venue, and wedding week! Thank you Kendra and Winter Park Mountain Lodge!
We had our wedding here in April 2016 and it was fantastic. Booking our room block for guests was super easy and we were provided with a complimentary bridal suite in a beautiful room facing the mountains on the top floor. Everyone LOVED the food - we ordered short ribs and sea bass and it was fantastic. Everyone from the front desk (Nancy + Daniel) and our wedding coordinator (Kindra + her assistant) were great and very organized. We had both our ceremony and reception indoors in the large room (separated into three sections) facing the mountains, so our photos ended up being AMAZING with the breathtaking 180 degree view of the resort. The lodge also recently was updated, so the lobby/hang out areas and rooms look great. This is also a much more affordable option than having a wedding across the street at the resort, however you still get the beautiful mountain views. Very convenient that guests get to stay in the same location as the venue. I highly recommend Winter Park Mountain Lodge for anyone who wants a beautiful mountain wedding in grand county, but doesn't want to break the bank at places like Devil's Thumb/Winter Park Resort.
