A Modern, Multicultural Wedding the Greystone at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Georgia
rn “We had a sort of traditional fall wedding with a twist,” says Aparna Kumar (31 and a health care consultant). She wed Kelechi Nwoku (35 and a health care consultant) at the Greystone at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Georgia. “The theme infused Indian and Nigerian cultures throughout, from the decor to the music, representing us and all the family and friends who joined us for the occasion. “The color palette was inspired by the fall season—we had rose golds, reds, rusty oranges, gray and navy-blue details throughout,” Aparna says. After an outdoor ceremony by the property’s lake, the 120 guests headed inside for the reception. Simple, cleanly decorated tables were topped with white linens and pops of burgundy. The airy, high-ceiling reception space allowed for lots of dancing–the couple hand-picked several traditional Indian and Nigerian songs, plus American jams. “Don't sweat the small stuff. As long as people are well fed and have drinks, everyone will have fun," Aparna says. “Instead, find ways to savor the day and enjoy yourself.” —Carolyn Meers
