A Tropical Garden Wedding at McKee Botanical Garden in Vero Beach, Florida

About 10 years after Danielle Schuman (28 and a pediatric optical therapist) and Jason Hines (27 and a wedding cinematographer) met at a high school band event, Jason popped the question. He slipped a round-cut diamond Neil Lane ring in her champagne flute and dropped to one knee during Christmas Eve dinner. “It was a perfectly casual and intimate engagement,” says Danielle. The couple spent their next 11 months planning a pink, green, white and gold tropical wedding inspired by their venue, McKee Botanical Garden. “Our theme could be described as "romantic botanical," says Danielle. The couple let the grand palm trees surrounding their ceremony space serve as their main decor as only their 100 white folding chairs were used as accents. After Danielle and Jason were married by a family friend, the couple and their guests went into a rustic cabin for the cocktail hour and reception. Family-style and round tables were met with neutral linens, gold chiavari chairs, burlap runners and magnolia leaf and yellow rose centerpieces. All enjoyed hors d‘oeuvres and a seated dinner before they were treated to pumpkin spice, salted caramel and other fall-inspired cupcakes. Danielle and Jason spent the night dancing with their guests. “Our DJ Vincent was exceptional. Even Tim Tebow made an appearance on the dance floor - in cardboard form,” says Danielle. For future couples, Danielle shares: “You can never plan too far ahead. Preparation makes for a stress-free day!”
