An English Garden-Inspired Wedding at The Vineyards At Chappel Lodge in Austin, Texas
Anne Weaver (25 and a graduate student) and Bobby Kessler (28 and a school psychologist) met working at a church camp when they were kids. Many years later, Bobby proposed in a garden surrounded by many of the couple’s closest friends. The couple was inspired by Bobby’s parents’ wedding in his grandmother’s backyard and loved the idea of being married under a canopy of greenery, so they chose to have an outdoor ceremony and reception under the oaks at The Vineyards At Chappel Lodge in Austin, Texas. The couple wrote their own vows based on the advice of their family, friends and mentors with the support of the community around them. Influenced by an English garden atmosphere, the couple based their orange, pink, yellow and green color palette on the bride’s favorite assortment of flowers, such as peonies, garden roses, anemones, dahlias and silver dollar eucalyptus. “We wanted our wedding to be bright, beautiful and most of all, fun,” says the bride. On the morning of the wedding, the lawn was littered with horseshoes, washers, corn hole and a full croquet set where guests could spend time together playing games, catching up and enjoying the day together. “It was just perfect for a stress-free friend and family-filled day,” says Anne.
