An Intimate Boat Wedding on the Mystic Blue in Chicago, Illinois

Sammantha (32 and a doctor of physical therapy) and Dawn (43 and also a doctor of physical therapy) met at side-by-side desks at work on Samm's first day. They started running into each other outside of work at work events or continuing education courses, and developed a close friendship that slowly grew into a romantic attraction after several years. As their love grew and their friends and families showed their support, they moved in together and got engaged three years later. Sammantha and Dawn loved taking weekend trips to Chicago, and through researching venues, discovered Entertainment Cruises. Considering their frequent vacations on rivers and Lake Erie, they decided a boat wedding would be perfect for their intimate guest like of sixty-five friends and family members. They got married on the Mystic Blue, which included both the ceremony and reception, a catered dinner, music, and a cruise along Lake Michigan. A more formal reception followed a week later in their hometown of Fremont, Ohio at Anjulina's Catering and Banquet Hall, where they had dinner, dancing, a four-tier wedding cake, and a limousine bus ride to give guests a tour of the city. Samm and Dawn chose a complementary color scheme of purple and orange to represent their favorite colors, and they incorporated it into their exotic arrangements of purple stasis and orange roses, carnations, and birds of paradise. They had their first dance to John Legend's "We Were Made to Love," and used these song lyrics on their drink koozie wedding favors, which guests took home along with with the floral centerpieces. Their vibrant wedding week concluded with a trip to the Schedel Arboretum & Gardens, where the couple and their guests could take photos with over 10,000 different kinds of exotic plants.
