Era 2015 en la Ciudad de México. Alexis acababa de entrar a una nueva universidad para continuar con su carrera en Gastronomía. Montsy estudiaba en la misma universidad, mientras trataba de sobrevivir la carrera "equivocada" (tenía sueños de convertirse en wedding planner). El destino intervino, y un amigo de ambos los invitó a su casa a tomar un par de cervezas, y ahí se conocerían durante una partida de Halo - Montsy intentaba fingir que le interesaba; Alexis intentaba fingir que no. Después de intercambiar números de teléfono, los mensajes cortos se convirtieron en llamadas largas, y el resto es historia.

Después de casi 7 años juntos, Alexis y Montsy empezaban a planear para su futuro y decidieron que el 2022 sería el año en que dirían "Sí, acepto" frente a un juez. Ya compartían comida, una cama y su suscripción de Spotify, así que, ¿por qué no compartir el resto de sus vidas? Sabían que más adelante ahorrarían para "el gran día", pero se sentían felices de simplemente firmar el papel que lo volvería oficial. Pusieron fecha para el 24 de julio de 2022 (su aniversario #7), y decidieron que sería un evento tranquilo y sencillo. Pero Alexis tenía planeado algo más, y sabía que aunque la boda en grande tal vez tendría que ser más adelante, la propuesta grande no tenía que esperar. Con la ayuda de amigos cercanos, diseñó una propuesta romántica y descabellada en Africam Safari. Como suele suceder con muchas cosas, el momento no sucedió como lo había planeado; Alexis se arrodilló para [oficialmente] pedirle a Montsy que se casara con él, y cuando estaba colocándole el anillo en el dedo, una jirafa hambrienta decidió ser parte de todo y la golpeó en la cara. Todo lo grabaron y el video acabó en redes sociales y se convirtió en viral con casi 4 millones de vistas en TikTok. Ahora, después de 9 años, han ido creando incontables recuerdos muy especiales y forjado amistades que durarán para toda la vida. Están ansiosos por celebrar el viaje que los trajo hasta aquí y agradecerle a todos los que han formado parte de eso.

It was 2015 in Mexico City. Alexis had just transferred to a new college to continue with his degree in Culinary Arts. Montsy was also a college student at the same university, trying to survive the "wrong" major (she had dreams of becoming a wedding planner). As fate would have it, a mutual friend would invite them and a few others over for some beers, and they would meet during a Halo match - Montsy tried her best to pretend she was interested; Alexis tried his best to pretend he was not. After exchanging phone numbers, short text messages turned into long phone calls, and the rest is history.

After almost 7 years together, Alexis and Montsy started planning for the future and decided that 2022 was the year they would say "I do" before a judge. They already shared food, a bed and a Spotify subscription, so why not share the rest of their lives? Saving for "the big day" would come later, but they were content to simply sign the papers that made it official. They set the date for July 24th, 2022 (their 7th anniversary) and decided it would be a low-key and simple event. But Alexis had more in mind, and knew that although the big wedding might have to wait, the big proposal didn't have to. With the help of close friends, he designed a beautifully romantic and wild proposal at a Africam Safari. As with most things in life, the moment didn't go as planned; Alexis got down on one knee before [officially] asking Montsy to marry him, and as he slid the ring on her finger, a hungry giraffe decided to join the party and smack Montsy in the face. This was all captured on camera and made its way into social media, going viral with almost 4 million views on TikTok.
