Ashley and Annie swam together in college at Auburn and were roommates for two of those years. Ashley was also the matchmaker of this relationship! To Annie's hesitation at first, Ashley always knew Vini was a perfect fit for her. She has continued to show up for Annie throughout their friendship; during euphoric highs and unfathomable lows, Ashley has likely been by Annie's side. After 11 years and countless roommates, including their significant others, they still claim the other is the best roommate they ever had.

Rod and Vini met at home in Brazil swimming at Minas Tenis Clube when they were just 11 years old. Seemingly overnight, they went from rivals in the pool to spending every minute together- they even moved to America at the same time to pursue their dreams together. Born only one day apart, they are truly each others' brothers they never had. Vini recently received a promotion, becoming the Godfather of Rod's daughter, Harley.

Bailey and Annie swam together at Indiana, and bonded quickly while traveling the world together (and usually sharing a hotel room), from Lima to Budapest to Tokyo. They somehow found pastries, treats, and coffee everywhere they went. Fun fact: Bailey lived with Vini's family in Brazil for over a month while she trained with his team. It's a longer stay than Annie has ever had with her future in-laws.

Wilson and Vini were roommates for two years and swam together at Indiana. They always spent time hanging out in the living room together, spitballing ideas about theme parties, talking about Wilson's dating life, updating his newest summer Spotify playlists, and everything in between. Wilson always put a smile on Vini's face, and the Beckman family treated Vini like their fourth son.

Lilly and Annie were training partners for over five years at Indiana. While their relationship started as just that, training partners, the experience of the Olympics, COVID, and many other moments of adversity brought them together. They've had unique binding experiences (like the Olympics and Taylor Swift concerts), and many laughs in between!

Since Vini started dating Annie, Devin always went above and beyond to make sure Vini felt welcome in the Lazor family. When Vini had a COVID scare during his first Christmas in Michigan, Devin spent every day hanging out in the basement with Vini, as he had recently recovered from it. They share a love for the southern lifestyle, like cowboy hats and boots, country music, a glass of good whiskey, and are the perfect pairing for golf- Devin actually plays and teaches Vini, and Vini drives the cart and drinks the beers.

Lu is Vini's sister and has also helped him with translating duties every time Annie visits the Lanzas in Brazil- she speaks four fluent languages. Annie experienced her first carnival with Lu in Brazil, and is always the planner of fun for Annie and Vini, whether its carnival parties, concerts, or Galo games. Lu and Annie both have only grown up with brothers, and love that they finally have a sister in each other. No amount of words captures Lu's essence- she is simply one of a kind and the most loyal sister.

Vini and Nate are a dynamic duo that easily would have become friends even without Annie in the equation. They crush all the food and beers in the fridge together (and Nate takes the blame, because Vini can do no wrong in the eyes of Stacey Lazor) and are always persuading Annie to go out with them and have a drink. Vini is still taking notes from Nate on how to combat Annie's quick-witted remarks.

Kristen and Annie met in college and swam next to each other every day at Auburn. They bonded over some tears shed during John's T-shirt sets and also being the only Midwestern girls on the team. They now coach together at Florida, which is the third city they've lived in together- they also both found themselves in Pittsburgh, Kristen's hometown (and Annie's dad's), for the years following college.

Josh and Vini had an instant bond when they met at Indiana. They logged many hours playing FIFA on PlayStation together, as they were the only ones that could play to the others' level. They constantly sought advice from one another during their college years, and while Josh wasn't one for frequent socializing, Vini was always the one to drag him out of his cave to hang out with the boys.
