Why Disney?

Many may wonder why we have chosen to have our wedding at Disney. For me (Bianca), Disney is more than just a theme park; it's a place I've considered a second home for numerous years. It holds an abundance of magical memories that have become an integral part of my life.

The story begins with my parents' decision to purchase a Disney timeshare when I was two years old. Consequently, Disney became a staple in our family's annual, and sometimes bi-annual, vacations. Growing up, my brothers (Michael and Brian) and I were incredibly fortunate to embark on countless Disney adventures together. We explored the various parks, enjoyed the parades, encountered beloved characters, and weathered the occasional meltdowns (all from Brian). The best part was that we shared these experiences as a tight-knit family. Even though we've all entered adulthood, the enchantment of Disney continues to hold a special place in our hearts. In the midst of our busy lives, we've each managed to carve out time to revisit Disney, whether individually or as a group. A recent trip in October 2023, during the Halloween season, stands out in my memory. My mom and I immersed ourselves in the festivities, with a highlight being the late-night BOO to You parade and an exhilarating ride on Tron at 12AM. Notably, my dad, Wayne, couldn't resist the attraction of Disney and made a spontaneous visit, flying in to spend a day with us during this memorable trip. It was during this trip with the three of us that we came to truly realize the extraordinary significance of Disney and the countless memories our family has created together there.

In May 2023, I looked forward to sharing the magic of Disney with Scott. Despite his childhood visit, it felt like he was experiencing the enchantment of Disney for the first time! Our time was filled with excitement – enjoying numerous Joffrey's coffees, embracing the rain at Epcot, and eating more food than we could handle. I even managed to convince Scott into tackling Flight of Passage, though I must admit, it was a bit of a bumpy ride for him (sorry Scott). Yet, the highlight of the trip occurred on a night that would forever be engraved in our hearts. Following a wonderful dinner at Narcoossee's, Scott surprised me with a private boat ride around the Seven Seas Lagoon, ending with a front-row view of the Happily Ever After Fireworks show. In the midst of all the lights and music, there he was, down on one knee! It was a very private and incredibly special night that we will always remember.

As many of you know, my professional life as a nurse on the Pediatric Oncology Unit at Yale has given me a profound appreciation for life and health. Witnessing the strength of the children and families I care for has touched my heart deeply. The association of Disney with the Make-A-Wish program, which grants wishes to children facing critical illnesses, further elevates the significance of this magical place in my life. Disney's partnership with Make-A-Wish reflects a commitment to spreading joy in the face of adversity.

As Scott and I embark on this journey in marriage, we are filled with gratitude not only for the privilege of getting married in Disney but also for the opportunity to share this profound connection with all of you. We extend a heartfelt invitation, hoping that you can join us on this special day to witness and partake in the magic that has shaped our life in such a meaningful way.
