Lane and Christian’s journey began many years ago when they were both six years old, attending Beaverdale Elementary School. It was in that school where their first connection was made, though they couldn’t have imagined at the time how deeply intertwined their lives would become.

At the age of eight, both Lane and Christian joined the very first Run for God Triathlon team, which was led by Lane’s father, Mitchell Hollis. As teammates and classmates, they began to develop a friendship, one that would grow through the passing years. As they moved on to middle and high school, their bond remained solid.

Throughout their school years, Lane and Christian also attended Grove Level Baptist Church, where their faith and shared experiences kept them close. Their time in student ministry only deepened their friendship, and the church community became a vital part of their lives.

When graduation came, many of their friends from church moved away to attend college, leaving Lane and Christian behind in Dalton. They both chose to stay and continue serving as young adults in the student ministry. Their shared commitment to the church only strengthened their connection, and their presence together did not go unnoticed.

As they spent more time working alongside one another, the people around them began to notice the unique bond they shared. Friends and church members alike began to encourage them to date.

In August of 2023, Lane and Christian took a significant step in their relationship by deciding to go on their first official date. From the very beginning, they both felt something different. Unlike any other dates they had experienced before, this one felt so natural and easy. It was clear that their bond was deeper than they ever expected.

By the end of September 2023, Lane and Christian made the decision to officially start dating. Over the next year, their relationship flourished, and they grew even closer. They shared countless memories, from going on mission trips together, to family vacations, to celebrating holidays side by side. Whether they were out on an adventure or simply going through the small, everyday moments of life, the joy they found in each other was evident. It wasn’t just about the big milestones, but also the quiet moments of connection that made their relationship so meaningful.

As time passed, their love only grew stronger, and on September 6th, 2024, Lane decided to take the next step in making their relationship even more official. He got down on one knee and asked Christian to marry him. That moment was a culmination of everything they had built together, a celebration of their love and commitment.

Just weeks after their engagement, Lane and Christian chose March 9th, 2025, as the day they would say "I do" and begin the next chapter of their lives together. Looking back on their journey, they couldn’t help but marvel at how everything had come together. Who could have known that their story would begin so many years ago? What started as a simple connection had grown into a love that would last a lifetime.
