Maui is so diverse with plenty to do and see! These are some of our favorite and recommended activities on the island!
As we plan the activities that the two of us are going to participate in we will post the dates and times of said activities here so others who are interested can join us! There is no obligations to take part in any of these. These are simply our recommendations (based on past experiences) and some things we will be doing and would love company!
Want to check out another Hawaiian Island on your trip? Lanai is the closest island to Maui. It's a quiet and very natural island with some stunning beaches and excellent snorkeling. There is a ferry that goes back and forth daily! The ferry does require advanced reservations!
Erica and Tyler will be partaking on this activity on Friday November 15th. If you are on island and interested in joining us, please use the link provided to secure your spot on the ferry.
This was our absolute favorite snorkeling experience on the island of Maui! Molokini crater is not to be missed! The experience is unique and quintessentially Maui. The crew of the Calypso are utter professionals. You'll be in good hands!
Erica and Tyler will be partaking in this activity on Sunday November 17th at 7:30am. If you would like to join us, use the link provided to book your spot on our same boat!
This experience surprised us with being one of our faves last time! There is no better way to enjoy a Maui sunset than by being out on the water. This cruise includes endless cocktails and beverages as well as appetizers. But even those who aren't big drinkers will enjoy this experience and most importantly the views and vibes!
Erica captured some of her favorite photos on this excursion last time. We even saw whales!
Erica and Tyler will be participating in this activity, however they have not booked a date and time yet. Please watch this space if this is of interest!
Attending a luau on Maui offers a rich cultural experience that combines Hawaiian traditions, food, music, and dance in a beautiful setting. It's a unique dinner and a show experience that is very specific to the islands and their culture. Although there are many Luau options available, Erica and Tyler will be attending the Maui Nui Luau hosted by the Sheraton Hotel on Monday Nov 18th. Please follow the link to book your ticket if you'd like to join us on this experience! If you do, share your confirmation number with us so we can attempt to get our parties seated together,
If you've never gone up in a helicopter before this is the perfect opportunity to do so! There is nothing cooler than experiencing the beauty of Maui from above in this unique way. It truly is a once in a lifetime experience.
Erica and Tyler are not participating in this activity on this trip. However they have in the past and LOVED it. Highly recommend if you're interested.
This is another fun option to get out on the water! This dinner cruise includes a delicious meal as well as on boat entertainment and beverages. Plus some of the most stunning views of Maui's dramatic coastline.
Tyler and Erica will be participating in this activity on Sunday November 17th at 5pm. Use the link to join us.
Maui is a hikers paradise! There is no shortage of beautiful areas to explore and trails that can appeal to anyone's comfort level. We've included a link to the top ten suggested trails for consideration.
Our personal favorites were Iao Valley (be warned this area now requires an advance reservation to explore and a small permit/parking fee) and the "secret" Olowalu petroglyphs.
This experience takes you through Maui's lush and tropical rainforest along the island's north to east coastline. Stretching for just over 64 miles with lots of one lane bridges and twists and turns, this drive is not for the faint of heart. BUT if you can pull it off it is home to some of the most stunning sights and vista points Maui has to offer. This is very much a "choose your own adventure" type situation with a ton of potential stops to make. It's impossible to see it all so doing a little bit of research before hand is key. Many of the potential stops are absolutely free, however there are also a handful that charge a small entry or parking fee. Some like Waianapanapa State Park require a prior reservation to explore. On this excursion, the destination is not nearly as exciting as the trip getting there.
Maui is home to some of the world's most spectacular beaches! And best of all, all beaches on Maui are 100% free to public, including the stretches of beach in front of some of the island's most legendary resorts. Whether you want to lay out and relax, snorkel, kayak, surf, or just absorb the island's natural beauty - there is a beach for every style.
We personally love Sugar Beach to the south and Ka'anapali Beach to the west.
Whether you want to hike or just enjoy the view, there is something absolutely thrilling about being atop a dormant volcano. Literally being above the clouds, especially at sunrise or sunset is an experience like no other! There is a small fee to enter the national park that can be paid either by car or per person. If you want to visit for sunrise a permit with advance reservations is required. Also we suggest you dress warmly if you decide to visit - it gets COLD.
We truly believe Maui has something for everyone. You can't go wrong with whatever you choose to occupy your time, however we strongly believe that Maui is best enjoyed outside or on the water.
