At the beginning of her second summer at Camp Westminster, Hannah noticed Caleb because he was assigned to be her Secret SC (the person she would secretly write encouraging letters to for the summer). She began to pay attention to him in order to discover what types of gifts to give him throughout the summer. Somehow, she felt a special connection to him, as she knew when he was nervous to participate in camp traditions or upset about campers. She often prayed for him. Caleb also gained her attention through his weird behavior, such as eating Starbursts with the wrappers still on. This was the first picture that Caleb and Hannah took together. At this point, she was beginning to have feelings for him, though she tried to deny it. Caleb was off in his Starburst-wrapper world while chasing other women at camp.

After the last bonfire at camp, Hannah and Caleb spent three hours talking, and then he walked her back to her cabin. This is Caleb at the end of the night.

Through divine intervention, Caleb began to suddenly have feelings for Hannah during the last week of camp. Their cabins were scheduled to do activities together all week, and he had ample time to notice how beautiful she was. At the time, Hannah had a terrible cold and could hardly think or sleep, and Caleb had compassion for her. He began flirting by pretending a stick was a gun and drawing a picture of a weird cat. However, because Hannah was so sick, she missed his attempts entirely and thought he was just being kind. Even when he wrote her a note on Wednesday reminding her to "Trust God," she still thought he was just being friendly. That note was God's instrument to start their relationship. In it, Caleb shared Psalm 138:8, "The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands." At this moment, God helped Hannah to surrender to Him, and she decided that if she couldn't date Caleb, she would love to date a man like Caleb. A surprise to both of them, God had an unexpected plan. On Saturday morning at check-out, Caleb walked up to Hannah and asked her if she would "like to get ice cream to talk about our hectic week?" She said, "yes," without thinking, and after cleaning the camp, they went to Bruster's for ice cream. After their date, Caleb left Hannah at her cabin. She thought it was over, and spent the next few hours promising herself that she would never tell anyone this had happened. Then, she decided to trust God. After the banquet, Caleb finally approached her again, said he had a question to ask her, and then promptly "forgot" the question. Hannah knew he was just nervous, so she told him he could ask when he remembered, and that gave him the courage to ask for her number. They then took this picture: their first picture together.

After a month of only talking on the phone, Caleb came to visit Hannah at Toccoa Falls College. They ate at Zaxby's, and neither one could eat anything because they were both so nervous. They then went to Helen and spent the day there. During one of their conversations, Caleb asked Hannah about her thoughts on infant baptism and Calvinism. (She did not know at the time that he was Presbyterian).

After a few months of talking, Caleb and Hannah officially started dating. He asked her in the car on the way to Unicoi State Park.

Caleb visited Hannah for the first time in Ohio and met her family. They were both very nervous.

After volunteering at camp after almost a month of officially dating, Caleb took Hannah to the same Bruster's Ice Cream that he had on their first date. This was also the day of their first kiss. They had both never kissed anyone before, and so they did not know if they were doing it "right." Caleb wanted to try six times to get it right.

The first time a guy ever asked Hannah to a dance, she had a bad cold. However, this allowed her to see how much Caleb loved her as he took care of her.

Caleb loves playing piano. He has written Hannah three songs: "Hannah's Song," "Flowers in the Lake," and "Butterflies."

Caleb also loves kissing Hannah.

Caleb and Hannah's first Valentine's Day. They had a picnic, went to Helen, and ate a romantic dinner at Cracker Barrel. The day ended with Caleb "discovering" at 10 p.m. that "somehow" Hannah's toilet was clogged, which forced them to clean her entire flooded bathroom.

Hannah's college friends and Caleb kindly threw her a surprise 21st birthday party, which she greatly appreciated. It was then that she realized that Caleb would never be able to fully hide anything from her because she would always know something was unusual, even if she did not know what it was.

At this point, Caleb and Hannah had been dating for six months. He bought her a promise ring to commemorate the occasion. Though they had endured much conflict and trials in those six months, God sanctified them through it and allowed them to continue dating.

This was Caleb and Hannah's first (and only) summer at Camp Westminster while dating.

On the way to Hannah's house from Camp Westminster, she stopped at Buccee's with Caleb.

Hannah and Caleb love to go on random adventures together, such as their trip to the small South Carolina town of Ninety-Six.

Caleb went with Hannah's family on vacation to Tybee Island.

To Hannah's surprise, God helped them to make it through one full year of dating.

Caleb loves aprons. He also loves adding extra ingredients to any recipe.

Because Hannah graduated college in December, their relationship became the furthest long distance it had ever been.

After the longest time they had even been apart, Caleb visited Hannah in Ohio.

Finally, after much prayer and agonizing decision-making, Caleb decided to propose to Hannah. Before she visited him again in February, he called the camp director and coordinated a plan to get Hannah to camp without making her suspicious. However, Hannah knows Caleb too well, and she suspected an imminent proposal. On their way to South Carolina, he took her to camp and proposed in the same place he had first asked her out on a date. She said "yes" after having been thinking about it since day one.
