Our Story

Our Story

First, there was the big bang. Then the milky way was formed, and finally the earth was created. Then there were really big insects and dinosaurs, follow by people. People evolved, domesticated the dog, and created tacos. Things were good.

Then Chris and Heather were born, grew up and led separate lives. While they each raised some amazing daughters they realized they had a missing piece. Internet dating became a thing, and everyone added a driving selfie to their profiles. In August of 2021, Chris and Heather met on match.com, started talking, and hit it off. On September 2, 2021, Heather overcame her fear of Chris's nerdiness and they had a wonderful first date at Texas Road House. A few days later, a second date followed. Chris left for a solo trip out west. Each phone call he expressed his wish that Heather could have joined him. Love was in the air. They continued to talk and share things about themselves and their lives. A relationship was developing and then Chris drowned his phone. A day had gone by and Heather thought she had been ghosted or something terrible happened. Chris frantically tried to find a way to get in touch with Heather, he had to stop at a local library out west and jump through hoops to log into his Facebook account so he could send Heather a message that his phone had broke and to get my phone number so he could call her from the landline at the hotel.

When Chris returned from his trip they picked back up where they left off. More dates followed, with some tasty meals, and some great scenery. As time went on Heather and Chris met each other's daughters and families. All of the family members were warm and welcoming. The families started noticing how happy Chris and Heather were together. Everyone was supportive and included Heather and Chris as though they were already family.

Heather and Chris had several outings and trips over the last 3 years including...Starved Rock, Galena, Apple River, Lake Geneva Ice Castles, too many waterfalls to count, Union Pier, sunflowers, pig races, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Fort Myers Beach, Marco Island, holding alligators, Chattanooga, Austin, San Antonio, The Alamo, the Dr. Pepper Museum, Hot Springs, and the Ozarks! Chris sure knows his way around a map and loves to share his adventures with Heather.

In December 2023 Chris had some health issues arise. It gave Heather the opportunity to shine, showing how much she loved and cared for him, and revealing her beautiful inner nature. It became crystal clear to Chris that there was no better way to spend the rest of his life then with Heather as his wife, best friend, and partner. So on December 17th, he popped the question, and she said yes!
