If You Ask Kyle:
One night in the fall time I was at a party at my good friend's house. This was the go-to hang out house for the weekends during my late teens - early 20s. I was hanging out with my friends, jamming to music like any other night. My buddy, Mike, told me that there was this girl "Jackie" that wanted to meet me. I was surprised because it was unusual for me to go for a girl when I was in my typical hang out zone. I was nervous about what we would even talk about, Mike reassured me that Jackie would do most of the talking. If you all know Jackie... she can talk. We found a quiet place to chat and ended up spending the rest of the night in conversation. After the party, we connected on Snapchat and eventually moved over to texting. I asked her out on an Ice Cream date at Friendly's shortly after. Our second date was at Taco Love. We continued to text all day and go out on dates. I invited her over to meet my family and we watched my favorite movie, Jurassic Park. She talked the whole time, but I didn't mind. I really wanted to make sure that Jackie could blend in with my friends and that also my friends liked her too. My friends were my family and I spent every weekend with them so it was important she could seamlessly fit in. In January of 2016 I brought her over to The Myers house to introduce her to my best friends. We had a great night and by the next morning I had asked her to be my girlfriend. The rest is history. I am truly in love with Jackie Taylor. We have had the best 8 years of growing, being in love, and building an everlasting friendship. I can not wait to see what the future has in store for us.
If You Ask Jackie:
Kyle and I both grew up in a small community called Kingsville. Its common for people to know each other from elementary school or just the neighborhood since the community is tight-knit. My childhood home is situated on the top of a hilly road. My road was commonly used by kids to bike, scooter, or skate down to the local pizza shop and corner store. I had this huge crush on a skater boy with curly hair that would always ride down my street. I was friends with someone from his neighborhood group and would play kick the can with this mysterious and cute kid. Fast forward to high school I was giddy when I realized we rode the same bus and he was just 2 stops before mine. We both sat alone in the front of the bus and I always wanted to strike up conversation, of course I never did. He stopped riding the bus since he was older and was able to drive to school as a senior and I rarely saw him anymore. One night in 2014 (specifically 11/14/14) I was at a bonfire and met Kyle for the first time.. unfortunately for me Kyle does not recall our conversation but I was so thrilled to have finally met THE Kyle Ritter (aka cute skater boy). Fast forward to exactly a year later on 11/14/15, I was invited to a party in Kingsville. Moments after I arrived I noticed Kyle talking to my work friend, Mike. I immediately asked Mike to introduce us. Kyle and I ended up talking the whole night. The next day we connected on social media and shortly there after he asked me on an ice cream date. I love ice cream and it seemed that this boy just knew the way straight to my heart. He then asked me on a taco date, yet another sign that we are meant to be (I LOVE tacos). There were times that I would offer to do yard work for my family as an excuse to be outside for the off chance that he would skate down my street. Lucky for me, he seemed to really like to skate down my road more frequently. We continued to go on dates and he asked me to come over to his friends house on a Saturday night. It was a great night full of laughter, music, and the forging of new friendships. The next day Kyle told me he was in love with me and wanted to be exclusive. Since then, we have been blessed with 8 years of amazing memories, friendships, growth, experiencing major life moments, enjoying life as best friends, and building a family in our own home by adopting two cats (shoutout to Frodo and Moony). I believe that a part of me always knew that we would be together because I had a constant awareness and crush on him since my childhood. It's funny and beautiful how life pans out. I am truly lucky.
