Javy had just graduated from the Moody Bible Institute. He had bought a car, had been recently installed at a deacon at his church, and was beginning to work in the post office at Moody. However, although he had many dear friends (both male and female) he didn’t seem to be interested in any young ladies in particular… perhaps online dating could be an option worth exploring?

Ashlee had just returned from living overseas in Cameroon, Western Africa. She was preparing to move to Taiwan, and was spending most of her time meeting with supporters and working on the paperwork for her visa. However, finding the time and connections to date had been hard with all the moving around and living in a remote part of the world… perhaps it would be easier to find someone online and get straight to the point?

In the Lord’s providence and kindness, on October 1st of 2023, Javy commented on Ashlee’s post and Ashlee soon after sent Javy an introductory email. It didn’t take long for both of them to realize that this was a special relationship and worth pursuing wholeheartedly. Javy patiently waited to hear what Ashlee’s plans would be in the spring, while Ashlee prayerfully decided to move to Chicago to take classes and spend more time with Javy in person… and the rest, as they say, is history. 🫶🏻
