Where Do Two Adventure Loving People Get Married?

Colorado Of Course!

We've decided to say our vows in the beautiful Colorado Mountains, just outside of Breckenridge on the Dillon Reservoir and hope you can join us as we celebrate!

Meet Us at:

Windy Point Group Campground

Forest Loop ~ Dillon, Colorado

Latitude: 39° 36’ 28.0001” N Longitude: 106° 2’ 39.9998” W

About Windy Point Campground

Windy Point Group Camp is located on the shores of the Dillon Reservoir just north of Breckinridge Colorado.

Sitting at 9,100ft of elevation, in the White River National Forest this campground consists of two group campground loops, that overlook the Dillon Reservoir and are surrounded by mountain ranges.

We have reserved the FOREST LOOP CAMPGOUND for the ceremony and the following picnic dinner & bonfire.

This site has a Gravel Parking Lot, that can accommodate up to 30 vehicles. Therefore, we highly suggest carpooling to the venue if possible.

There will be a 500ft hike to the ceremony location, that has a slight incline. (We will have volunteers on hand for those who may need assistance)

Picnic tables, vault toilets, and benches will also be onsite for anyone who needs them. However, there will not be a lot of shaded areas on the campground, so sunscreen is recommended.

Ceremony Timeline

Guest Arrival at Venue - 5:00pm/5:30pm

Ceremony Begins - 6:00pm

Group Pictures - 6:30pm

Bride & Groom Photos - 7:00pm

Picnic & Bonfire - 7:30pm

What to Expect / Dress Code

This is not a traditional wedding. Our "Venue" is a group campsite, there will be a short hike to the overlook where we plan to say our vows, and we plan to have a picnic and bonfire (Weather Permitting) after the ceremony.

The Bridal Party will be in more formal wear for the ceremony and group photos. HOWEVER we plan to change into more casual and comfortable attire for the picnic & bonfire as soon as we are finished taking formal pictures.

We highly recommend guests be comfortable, and dress more casually for the ceremony, but also welcome anyone that wishes to simply bring a change of clothes to do so.

Colorado Weather can be unpredicatable

& Our Venue is Called Windy Point for a reason

We Recommend Bringing Layers, Sunscreen, Hats & Gloves, and most importantly:

~GOOD WALKING SHOES~

Bonus Points for guests wearing a floral or plaid print!

After the Ceremony:

We will be having a picnic meal for everyone in attendance at the campground. We plan to roast marshmallows and make s'mores later in the evening.

We will be providing Brats, Hotdogs & other picnic foods for everyone in attendance. HOWEVER, since this IS NOT our formal reception, We WILL NOT be providing alcohol.

You are welcome to bring your own alcohol to the picnic. BUT BE WARNED Colorado is VERY STRICT when it comes to DWI's.

IF YOU ARE NOT STAYING OVERNIGHT AT THE CAMPSITE WITH US YOU WILL NEED A DD

That being said, we have reserved the "Venue" for the entire night of July 23rd, and we are planning on camping there after the ceremony and picnic conclude.

We invite anyone interested to join us overnight. Guests interested in joining us camping are welcomed to arrive onsite any time After 2PM on Tuesday, July 23rd, to set up your camping gear. Everyone must be off site by Noon on Wednesday July 24th.

Please Note

We love the mountains and want them to stay as beautiful as they are now. Therefore, we will be practicing LEAVE NO TRACE throughout our entire Colorado visit and ask that you help us by doing the same.

If you bring it in, you bring it out.

Carpooling Details

Four Wheel & All Wheel Drive Vehicles Are Suggested

Since Parking is limited to 30 Vehicles. We recommend for guests to carpool if possible. We also recommend cars with Four Wheel or All Wheel Drive as the mountain roads can be difficult and the road to the venue is mainly dirt & gravel.

If you have a Four Wheel or All Wheel Drive Vehicle and are willing to help transport people to the venue, please contact Zach at (513)544-6862

Can I Bring My Dog?

Windy Point Campground, and most of the Breckenridge area is dog friendly (they must be on a leash).

We plan on bringing our dog (Sam) with us to Colorado, and if your dog is controllable and does well with people and other dogs, we welcome them to join us.

You are responsible for cleaning up after your pet and their behavior.

However, during our Wisconsin Reception, we ask that only immediate family dogs be present. Due to the amount of people attending the event.

Camping Not for You? No Worries!

There is an abundance of hotel & VRBO options in the Breckenridge / Dillon Area, with a variety of price points. Here are some of our suggestions:

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Silverthorne - Summit Co

(970) 368-2230

This option is on the cheaper side of hotels in the area, is dog friendly and is about 45 minutes from the trailhead.

Website

Super 8 by Wyndham Dillon/Breckenridge Area

808 Little Beaver Trail, Dillon, CO 80435, USA
(970) 455-4032

This is also a cheaper option that is dog friendly and located about 45 minutes from the trailhead.

Although Breckenridge is the most popular town in this area and has a lot more hotel options, We recommend staying in or around Dillon, Frisco, or Siverthorne, Colorado because they are all slightly closer to our venue.

Colorado Mountain Summit Hike

Bride: (262)490-8712
Groom: (513)544-6962

During our stay in Colorado we plan to hike up to a summit of one of the nearby mountains. We invite all fellow adventure's to join.

We are currently researching the best hike to do that is suitable for all experience levels.

Please Note: Most summit hikes are labeled as hard/difficult. However, we intend on taking our time, as we are not avid hikers, and do not expect you to be.

The BEST WAY to prepare for a mountain hike is to WALK OFTEN. They do not have to be a long or difficult walks, any amount of walking beforehand will help.

If interested in joining Contact the Bride or Groom at the numbers above for more details, & to be included on the list!

Marina Park

306 W Lodgepole St, Dillon, CO 80435, USA
(970) 468-2403

Marina Park is one of the many parks located in the town of Dillon CO.

This specific park is located on the shores of the Dillon Reservoir and is filled with picnic tables, a pavilion, charcoal grills, a large playground and plenty of hiking, recreational trails and activities in the park and the surrounding area. And it is a great inexpensive activity for all.

Check of the Town of Dillon's Website for more information and other parks & events going on in Dillon during your stay!

BreckConnect Gondola

170 Watson Avenue, Breckenridge, CO 80424, USA

Take a Gondola ride up to the base of Peak 8 in Breckenridge. There are 121 completely enclosed gondolas that run along 7,592ft to a ski resort with a multitude of activities and fun for everyone.

The Gondola Ride is free for everyone, however some of the activities on peak 8 require a pass that can be purchased online.

Mount Evans

Mt Evans Rd, Evergreen, CO 80439, USA
(303) 567-3000

Mount Evans (Recently Renamed Mount Blue Sky) is one of Colorado's 14er's and is home to the tallest road in the United States. Which means its drivable!

This attraction is a little over an hour from Breckenridge, and a timed reservation is needed to use the road but is entirely worth the views.

We recommend hitting this attraction on your way to or from Breck, as you will pass the turn off for it when coming from Denver,
