Since we will be in the mountains, it is best to be prepared for a chilly evening. In late summer/early fall, daily high temperatures range from 72 degrees to 61 degrees, and daily low temperatures range from 45 degrees to 36 degrees.
What should I wear?
Dress code terminology can be so discombobulating while planning to attend a wedding, so we decided to clarify “what to wear” with a helpful guide.
As for the outdoor-pavilion welcome party on Friday night, we’re thinking cocktail attire which is a smidge more formal than semi-formal. That means that you can save your full length dress and ties for Saturday.
As for Saturday night, we’re thinking black tie optional which means that a tux is not required unless of course you want to wear one. And for the ladies, a floor-length dress, a fancy cocktail dress, or a dressy pantsuit is an option.
Are children invited?
Unfortunately, children are not invited to the wedding because we want you to really enjoy yourselves! So, call your babysitter and get ready to party!
How far is the Black Canyon Inn from the Estes Park Resort?
The Black Canyon Inn (the wedding venue) is only a 7-minute drive from the Estes Park Resort (the recommended hotel for lodging). Complementary shuttle services will be provided to and from the Estes Park Resort to the Black Canyon Inn on Saturday. However, there is plenty of parking for guests who prefer to drive to the venue.
How can I best prepare for the high elevation?
Traveling straight from the east coast to the mountains can be an adjustment! For guests who have not spent much time in the mountains, we encourage you to start hydrating the day before your flight. If you are someone who is susceptible to altitude sickness, we recommend staying one night in Denver before traveling to the mountains to help get acclimated. The entire city of Denver is 5,280 feet (1 mile high) above sea level. Estes Park has an elevation of 7,522 feet. Let's take care of ourselves!
